Okay, this place is awesome! From the outside it looks small, but once you walk in , it's big. Awesome seating with couches and coffee tables, tables and chairs. This place has a very comfy feel to it. Nice little book nooks to sit at. It's very unique and I dig it. Staff is friendly. I sat on a couch and they brought my lunch to me. There is nothing fake or fantasy about the breakfast, lunch or juice menus which feature organic or otherwise fresh ingredients. There is some killer antique frames and mirrors on the walls and a saddle seat at the bar. The barista has some equally killer tats. I love this place. Everything I have had here has been wonderful. It's unique and beautiful. Get some coffee and treats and then walk next door to the hookah lounge. They don't pressure you to buy anything and you can sit all day sipping the same cup of coffee and they'll still be as friendly as ever. Great coffee concoctions. But it's the ecletic atmosphere and friendly nature of the coffee house that is very inviting and comfortable - once you take a moment to figure it out. There are several seating areas - some comfortable, a counter, couches, a back area, with scattered tables filled with devoted locals playing board games and drinking coffee. But I loved the coffee. I was there on one day and the next day when I had a chance, I went straight back to it. The sandwich, a vegetarian type loaded-up, was good and filling. It's clean, inviting, comfortable, the price is reasonable, and the food - especailly the coffee, is very good.The staff, whether it was early morning or late in the evening was friendly and efficient in getting the orders. Really cute cafe and the food was really good. I got the iced green tea which wasn't that strong, but still delicious. For lunch I got the hummus plate and it was very good. I loved the hummus which was very flavorful. My mom got the strawberry field salad that she said was very good. It was so pretty along with the plating of the hummus plate. They had breakfast items, baked goods, smoothies, sandwiches, and more, that all sounded amazing. We will definitely be going back again to try something else. read more

Found this great spot when searching for good espresso (hate starbucks!). Not only is the espresso fabulous, so is the coffee, ambiance, food, service. All the girls that work there are so pleasant, and it's just a great little gem in downtown Carson City. Very relaxed atmosphere, fresh egg sandwich, wonderful homemade salsa, and catered to my food sensitivites. I went nearly everyday I stayed in Carson (10 days), and was never disappointed. Every table has trivia cards, and sayings writing on its centerpieces. Poems and saying all over the walls, it's fun and entertaining walking around looking at everything. Met a friend there for a busy lunch. I am a coeliac so I hardly leave the comfort of my own kitchen. They had no gluten free breads or lettuce wraps, but I ordered a delicious cold cut wrap with the veggies and cheese inside the bread with a huge side of mustard. A lovely, gluten free meal which of course is low carbs. They use the Boar's Head meats which are very good quality. I also want to commend the staff for their knowledge and care over gluten cross contamination, as I do receive blood work to ensure the dietary therapy is helping. I noticed the staff was well versed with the differing items served and what triggers were out there, which I can't thank them enough. It's always best with the simple foods which are not out of a box, prepared by hand, and with lots of love. read more

Coming to Carson City durning the legislative session I was very curious how things worked. I was also there to support Uber back in Nevada. Seeing this cool coffee shop right across the street from the capitol I parked and walked in. WOW look at this place. Staff was very friendly welcoming me with a warm good morning.Very cool look inside and lots of great things to order. This place is so refreshing compared to all the standard boring places around here! As a person who hails from Santa Cruz, CA this spot is home away from home with it's laid back atmosphere and quirky decor. The patio between Comma and Firkin Fox is a nice place to drink a coffee with your furry companion like I just did. The iced latte was very good and the brew was definitely fresh. Indy, my corgi companion, raved about the ice water as well. Too bad I came here with a full belly because they have a variety of food items that look delicious. The staff was very friendly! The unique ideas for breakfast entrees match the unique vibe in this lovely place. I had the "Egg Benediction" and it was SO yummy. I love this coffee shop, and I'd almost move to Carson City for it. Almost... It's big and cavernous and busy and cozy in all the ways a coffee shop should be. I like this coffee shop a lot. It's open and friendly and has local art on the walls. It has a delicious selection of organic coffees. It has scrumptious baked goods. The friendly (and cute) staff know how to make a yummy breakfast sandwich. There are many different types and sizes of tables, from cozy spots for one, to giant tables for 8. And there's free wi fi, to boot. And there used to be a cat. A cat lived here, known as the Small Cat, until recently when an anonymous complainer went to the health department and had the cat removed. WTF? I know all this because the cafe is filled with little fliers and a petition to get the cat back to the coffee shop. At least it's safe at home with the coffee shop's owners. I spent a week in the Reno/Carson City area for work and after a string of decent/bad places to eat, I simply just figured there was nothing good in the area. Boy was I wrong, yes I admitted it first here. Comma Coffee has a great selection of sandwiches/wraps and soups. They are moist, well put together and filling. By far one of the best places I have ever had a sandwich at. The atmosphere is eclectic, relaxed and pleasant. There's a slow pace here, and that would be my only complaint. After we were done eating, we had to approach the counter for a check. Had we not been in a hurry, this wouldn't have been an issue. If you are in Carson City, I highly recommend going here. Great coffee shop in Carson City! I had a chai tea latte and a turkeylation sandwich and my husband had an iced mocha and a legislation sandwich, all of which was delicious and very filling. I was impressed by the creativity of the place: they offer crosswords and sudoku books on tables, they have a mailbox for you to put in a comma coffee postcard and they mail it for you, they have a cute sign with a new word (the one on the day we visited was sinoseur) and stuff like that. Service was good, very cheerful cashier. Will be definitely going back on our next trip to Carson. read more

Best Coffeehouse option in Carson City! There always seems to be something going on at this laid back hang out right across the street from the Nevada State Assembly. Check the website for a rotating calender or weekly events including dance classes, live music, book readings, drum circles, movie screenings, discussions and more. Rumor is that this building used to be a mortuary, and that it is haunted! I never saw any thing, but maybe you'll get lucky. Free internet, good food selections, and good coffee. Roasted in the region, fair trade grown. Only draw back is their hours of operation, but it seems that everything in Carson City closes too early, except the casinos. read more

The staff is very friendly, the place looks like somewhere I wouldn't mind spending hours killing time sitting and reading or chatting with friends... however... the food?!? Well my advice is to ask... "what are you out of " when they ask what you want... that way you don't get your hopes up for something... they were out of avocados and pretty much everything I was looking forward to tasting. They apparently have the pannini grill and waffle iron on the same circuit and it when we were there... they kept having breaker issues with the power. read more

Once my friend arrived, one of the gals came straight to our table to take our order. We both had one of their double lattes (fabulous) and I had their lox while my friend had a custom bagel sandwich (both very fresh and delicious). The atmosphere of this coffee house is calm yet inviting and alluring. One of the barista gals was very witty, which I admire, and very friendly. Recommended by a merchant in Carson City. The place was a former restaurant, huge for a coffee house. They also have sandwiches and other treats and drinks. I was probably there on a bad day. Coffee, a Peruvian organic was very good but it was lukewarm due to a malfunction in their coffee maker. The place itself is very "funky", comfortable and homey. I shared a veggie wrap with my wife. One of the best I have had in quite a while. Service is slow as I noticed employees distract each other, ignoring the customers while they chat. Comma House must have a strong following as there were 16-20 customers inside with probably that many came in for take out drinks and food. I really want to give them another try. I could have gone 4 stars had it not been for the chit-chat that kept them from taking my order. Four people in line waiting to order and no one at the register. The person behind me left. read more

I went here to pick up breakfast to go. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They were a little busy, but one woman behind the counter made sure to let me know she'd help me as soon as she could. Although I was ordering takeout, while standing in line I got a chance to take in the decor and atmosphere of the cafe. It has a very cozy, homey feel with lots of interesting decorations. It had a bunch of cafe tables as well as couches and pillows where you could have a more leisurely, loungey eating experience. The decor was so inviting that it almost made me want to eat in! I ordered two bagels with egg, cheese, and avocado. I was grateful they were able to accommodate my exact order. The bagels were smaller than one's I've typically seen but the food was tasty and filling. I gave four stars because I do feel it was a little pricey. The two bagels cost me nearly $15 which I thought I was a little steep. But overall, a very cute place to grab breakfast or brunch! read more
