Very enjoyable coffee shop in the heart of Carson City. They have indoor and outdoor seating and either is very relaxing. We had a latte and it was well made on their La Marzocco machine. The milk was well textured and the temperature was good. Perhaps it was slightly closer to a cappuccino it was very tasty and the flavor was smooth and delicious. If you are in the area perhaps visiting the old Mint or looking at the state House, this is an excellent, close by spot to get your coffee fix. read more

I've been to a few coffee shops on this trip and I have to say Old World Coffee has the best affordable quality drinks. I got the Lemon pound cake latte from the spring special menu. It comes hot but I got iced. Offered in 10 ounce, 16 ounce and another size. I got the 10 ounce. The drink wasn't too sweet. I would have preferred it to have a tad bit more lemon flavor. Only one gal was working and she did a great job managing taking orders and making the orders. The space is huge. There's an extra room but not opened until later in the day. read more

Missing a lot of the basics. 12:00 noon on a Sunday and no pastries. No skim milk, not even any 2%. Service was fast and friendly in the dining area is quite nice. But a big disappointment when it comes to expected products from a cafe with such a huge footprint. read more

The ambiance is great, with a beautiful inside and outside. It's a nice place to hang out, do some work, and get some coffee. The service was friendly but a bit disappointed by their ordering system. I ordered a 16oz hot chocolate with oak milk that came out cold. I also ordered a bagel sandwich but because they didn't take my name and just called out sausage sandwich some one else took mine and they Rand out of sausage so they couldn't make a new one, i ended up with a omelette instead which was okay. read more

I still enjoy Old World a lot. They always have friendly staff and great coffee. However, the pricing in recent months has truly gotten astronomical. I paid $20 for a scone, an americano, and an iced vanilla latte today. Mind you the drinks are only 12oz. I'll always love a visit to Old World for great coffee and a lovely chill out on the patio. Unfortunately my visits are becoming less and less frequent because of the prices here. I wish they could get their pricing down a bit. read more

I've been here a few times over the course of them existing and I've not had a bad experience yet. The baristas are friendly and quick to make my drinks. It's most always been busy in that there are people coming and going, but I've always been able to find a chair to sit and chat with a friend, or meet a fellow writer to get some words down. Parking is a little tight, as it's in the heart of Downtown Carson, but I've never had to walk super far to make it here. We had a long drive from Ontario and wanted a bit of energy for the road to Reno. The patio is really cute and has two large swinging chairs. Inside the shop it was simple, with several tables to sit at. The coffee was good, I got my regular vanilla latte and my fiance got the sugar plum drink. We were in Carson City for an event at the Brewery Arts Center and decided to stop by Old World Coffee while exploring downtown. The area has such a charming, small-town vibe, and this spot fit right in. The large patio immediately caught my eye. Boasting plenty of seating and a warm, rustic feel, it's perfect for lingering with a drink. I'm always a fan of seasonal menus, so I was excited to see their fall specialty drink lineup with some creative flavor options. I went with the Old Pine latte, and while the rosemary, brown sugar, and walnut bitters were a bit more subtle than I hoped, it was still a really quality cup of coffee. Being from Reno and a bit of a local bakery and coffee shop fanatic, I was excited to see they carry Beloved Bakery items! Old World Coffee Company is hands down my favorite coffee spot. I literally go there every single day, and the coffee is the best I've ever had. There's just something special about the place that keeps me coming back. One of the things I absolutely love is the alternative rock music they play. It creates such a fun, upbeat vibe that sometimes it makes me want to stay and dance the day away while sipping my coffee. The staff is incredible and truly makes this place feel like home. Zoe is always so kind and welcoming, and makes a great cup of joe, truly! Riley is one of the kindest humans you'll ever encounter. Logan is the bee's knees adore him. Rosemary has a smile that could light up the whole room. Annalise is so sweet and welcoming every time I see her. I know I'm missing one more, but can't remember her name! - Sorry. They also run a great 2-for-$25 deal on bags of full bean coffee every Tuesday that we take advantage of sometimes, which is such a fun bonus. If you haven't tried Old World Coffee Company yet, you absolutely should. Amazing coffee, great music, and the most wonderful people -- what more could you ask for? Cool little coffee shop in carson city! it's connected to the restaurant but offers their own seating area. Great place to study and get some work done. They also got seating outside, so you can bring your dog! They had special holiday drinks, but i opted for their chai. It fragrant and tasted good. Parking can be found on their streets, i don't think they have a catered parking lot. read more

The coffee here is AMAZING! The workers here are so chill, friendly, and gave great recommendations for what to drink. Old World Cafe has a nice indoor seating area and an even nicer outdoor patio, with varying amounts of shade and sun. Our patio table was a great place to chat in relative privacy. I'm a black coffee guy and often get frustrated with the wait as folks chose their various combinations. Old World Coffee was no exception as the specialty line sucked up most of the line time. Cool vibe similar to a lot of these newer coffee shops in cities across the US. They roast their own coffee which is always a plus. They offer a pour over and a Gibraltar on their menu which is usually a sign that the cafe knows what they're doing. Sadly, this didn't seem to be the cafe. We got two pour overs and when we asked what the offerings were on pour over, the barista was only able to tell us countries of origin but nothing else useful. The pour over is made on an automated machine so it should be foolproof, right? Apparently not. My wife's came out watery. And you could tell something was wrong when her carafe was far fuller than mine, so for the same amount of coffee, hers was brewed with far more water. Why? Also, the carafes only pour smoothly if you don't pour slowly. read more

Found this place while strolling on a shopping day. Walking inside, I noticed that it was very spacious and looked like a perfect place to get some work done if you needed some place to go. There was no line which was nice so I was able to talk to the barista about the menu. She was very sweet and helpful. I was torn between a chai and a matcha and inquired about the orange blossom latte. I decided to go with the matcha as she said that she could customize it to make an Orange Blossom Matcha. I was intrigued so I got it and she told me she can remake me another drink if I didn't like it. I'm not sure what I was expecting when trying the drink but I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. The orange blossom with the matcha tasted like fruity pebbles in a cup. It sounds weird but if that is your thing I would recommend. I also got an almond croissant. I highly regret not trying it before I left and getting another one. IT WAS DIVINE. Probably the best almond croissant I've ever had. It was flakey and was nice and buttery on the inside. It wasn't too fluffy with a bunch of air but had a thick center which I truly enjoyed. A little doughy but that's what I liked about it. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area. read more

I happened to have the day off and "worked" for my school assignment in the Carson City area for an outreach event. Luckily finishing some hours earlier than planned I made it my mission to take full advantage of having a little free time and nice weather to explore and relax. I remembered Old World has a beautiful patio and so set my sights to go there. Upon walking through the patio there was a variety of work meetings taking place, one with a small group over speaker and later on a girl doing a virtual interview. It was definitely interesting to take in the remote workplaces. Upon walking in I was greeted and ordered the iced lavendar latte with almond milk. I really enjoyed it! It was not very sweet but nonetheless tasted great. Especially taking in the beauty of the scenery outdoors. Indoors was very ample seating and there were a few people inside. The longer I sat outside more and more people arrived. It was definitely a worthwhile time to be able to take in a great afternoon coffee treat, in a very relaxing patio. Super nice baristas and staff! Made very friendly conversation and made sure to restock the water cups and refill the water station. However... we got a 12 oz dirty chai and a 12 oz honey lavender latte and the total was a few cents shy of $20. I'm all for supporting local over chain, especially coffee bars, but that price is pretty steep. On top of it all, the latte literally just tasted like hot milk and the dirty chai was comparable to cardboard. This place is nice, spacious and chic. The barista we had was sweet. The iced matcha I got was good. I like the many seats, complimentary wifi and outlets. I like the firepit outside and the swings. However, the biggest drawback is the 2-hour parking limit on side street. So most likely, we will not be coming here often. :( read more

I enjoy the Old World in Reno, what's not to enjoy the Carson Old World. Located on Curry Street just off old highway 395 in downtown Carson. There's street parking to the side and a large lot across the street. A decent seating area inside, but it's the large patio I love. There's plexiglass on the half stone walls to help block the Nevada winds. A couple of heaters and a fire pit to enjoy while sipping your coffee on not summer days. When you're in the area and thirsty stop here for some relax time with a coffee creation. read more
