Exceeded my expectations in every way!!!!! The atmosphere is stunning. Plants, natural lighting, wood, high ceilings, couches, metal counters, it is very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. I ordered an iced latte ($7 pre-tax and pre-tip), and it was SO GOOD. Like I would rate it a 9 out of 10, which is rare for me!!! They use a medium-dark roast which is my FAVORITE type of coffee. I was so delighted at how much I loved my drink!! I will go back!!! Service was lovely from Hannah and Spencer and one other barista I didn't get the name of. Excellent experience!!!!!! Also $7 for a latte is so common nowadays in other coffee shops so I wouldn't say that I paid an outrageous amount. Wanted to update with a shoutout for Mel, SUCH lovely service from her - thank you Mel! read more

This is one of those all hype places and is so not suitable for this NELA community. I'm embarrassed for it. The lattes are meh. Literally nothing special. The food is typical and also nothing special. The vibe is sleek and posh and again, does not fit in to this neighborhood but clearly the owners just don't care about the surrounding community (shocker) and that's why they shoved their way in. read more

I visited on a Thursday at noontime and it did not disappoint. The vibe here is really something and the matcha tea was smooth and fresh - delicious with ice on a warm day. We sat on the windowsill and enjoyed the fresh air and air conditioning altogether. And the views of tattoos, motorcycles, and a lot of cool. There are a lot of cliches here and they all work. Perfection. read more

Comet Over Delphi - Noontime matcha with yuzu lemonade - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Highland Park, California

Comet Over Delphi is a gorgeous spot in Highland Park that's minimal and industrial without being cold and impersonal. Instead, it's spacious and airy with plenty of natural lighting. Service is warm, friendly, and informative and the venue boasts one of the nicest and most spacious bathrooms I've ever seen in a coffee shop. I ordered their reserve matcha latte with oat milk. I absolutely loved the presentation of the drink. It came on a silver tray complete with a delicious butter cookie as a bonus treat. The matcha is fairly traditional in taste. Super bold and full of umami. I could tell it was high-quality on first sip because it was incredibly smooth with very little astringency and no bitter aftertaste. If you're someone who loves a sweet matcha, this is not that. However, after adding simple syrup to my drink, I enjoyed it. I will say it was pricier than any other matcha I've ever had. At $12 and $14 after tax/tip, it far out prices incredible matchas I've had elsewhere in LA and in the world. That said, they did have options matcha lattes that were made without their private selection matcha that were around $8. I'd be curious to try those, because I don't think the reserve one was worth the price tag. I wish I could've tried one of their light bites, but they weren't offering them the day I came in. I won't be rushing back anytime soon, but, nevertheless, I'm glad I came in. read more

Comet Over Delphi - Cappuccino (Left) Iced Oat milk Latte (Right) - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Highland Park, California

Really confused about the hype of this spot. My wife and I try a different matcha spot every weekend so we wanted to try out this new location. We waited in line for a long time, which we expected so that part was fine. The quality of the matcha is where we weren't very impressed. Is it terrible? No. Is it good? Not really. For serving matcha from some of the better Japanese farms, we were surprised the taste didn't meet our expectations. I didn't get a chance to watch them make it so maybe they were busy and they couldn't meet the standard. Either way, I don't think we'll return. Note: They do not have any sort of artificial sweetener, whether it be syrup or Splenda, Sweet n Low, etc. I heard a girl ask for it and they said they don't provide any. So be prepared if you want yours sweetened. Parking - street parking, lot across the street Prices - fair Ambiance - very nice, open windows in the front with benches read more

This place is a Vibe. It acts more like a social club vs a coffee shop, which is a good thing. The staff all are super nice and the coffee is great too. Highly Recommend trust me. read more

I noticed this place a few weeks ago when I was on my way to yoga, today my partner and I decided to go check it out but upon arrival we noticed a couple of people lounging on the window with their BARE FEET on the ledge. How is this even acceptable in a place that serves food? People put their food and drinks there and I doubt the window ledge is sanitized each time someone gets up to leave. Ewww no! read more

Nowhere to sit. Coffee was bitter and overpriced. Total was $17 for a pastry and a cappuccino. Service was mediocre. Cute spot but will not recommend for anything but aesthetic pictures. read more

I love this coffee shop. It's my favorite around fig, the atmosphere is great, and the drinks are lovely. HOWEVER... there is never anywhere to sit. It's a big place, but inconsiderate people with laptops take up whole tables for hours. I understand working if it's a quiet shop during the day, but 80% laptops on a busy Saturday?! I wish there were some sort of limit because me and my friends often avoid catching up here because of this. read more

Really good espresso, good vibes from the baristas, cool design / vibe. Also the espresso is only $2.5! Good spot. It's true that the pastries are not very good - but that doesn't bother me too much since I'm a poodle terrier and I'll eat just about anything. read more

Had the shaken espresso. It was good! Would recommend. Very balanced with the oat milk. I asked what the drink was, and the barista told me the history of where it came from which is Australia. Love hearing more about the origin of where the drinks come from. The vibes were cool and inviting. Reminded me back when I would be in Vietnam and people are just casually living and talking and enjoying the space. read more

Trendy, aesthetic and modern. A mixture of wooden accents, art and natural light glimmering through large open windows. Space to be yourself, be with friends or enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Meet people or just chill. Plenty of room and an open space. Customer service was on point. The Matcha Latte and Magic are unique and crafted with love. A must visit! read more

Was hoping this place would be a hit, but it just wasn't for me. I got a cappuccino and asked if they had anything to sweeten it with and they only had one option for sweetener and it was brown sugar syrup. I love brown sugar syrup, but the fact that the cappuccino was almost $7, and all you could offer is one type of sweetener? I was quite disappointed. If the cappuccino was seven bucks I can only imagine what a latte price would be lol - it was not worth seven dollars in my mind but to each their own. The inside was nice however the chairs felt cheap and were wobbly. The people were kind that worked there, but I'm just trying to justify how expensive the drink was. read more

Place looks undone ? Under construction? Matcha horrible. One size only like brandy Melville - 12oz for $12 matcha "reserve" speciality matcha tasted the same as the regular one. And not good. Emotionless workers. Ignored our hellos/ good mornings. Straight faced. Most pretentious place I've been to. Bathroom looks like a prison. Rather go to La monarca across the street. read more

Ambiance make it feel like a warm Sunday morning everyday! Staff is kind. I enjoyed their cortado. cardamom bun is a MUST TRY!

When I walked in the barista on aux was playing the Sundays. I wondered, "is their coffee as on par as their music taste?" The answer: yes. I got a matcha shot over tonic water and it was actually good. Like actually. I would go back just for that. This space is modern minimal but still manages to bring its own flare of originality. read more

Comet Over Delphi - Matcha - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Highland Park, California

Aussie here--I so wanted to like Comet Over Delphi. My husband and I live right around the corner and were excited for a new coffeeshop, particularly one that expresses care for quality ingredients. I'm writing this review after many visits in the hopes of providing constructive feedback. We went twice during the soft opening (very busy, which is completely understandable). That Thursday, our matcha was very bland. The following Sunday, it was noticeably better and the barista made a point to ask us how our drink was, which we appreciated. It had a much more pronounced flavor and was a delight. Since then, the matcha has been consistently bland. I hope they take a look at their recipes and make adjustments. For what it's worth, my husband is Japanese and very familiar with matcha sourcing and preparation--I don't think the product is the issue here. The espresso beverages (we tried the flat white, magic--which I was so happy to see as an Aussie, espresso tonic, and several shots) were overall quite bitter. For the magic, this was especially disappointing. Perhaps a temperature issue or too fine a grind. My biggest piece of feedback is consistency. The staff has always been very friendly, but they do seem somewhat frazzled more often than not. I have to imagine this leads to inconsistently in quality of drinks. The temperatures of drinks have been all over the place, as well as the flavors. I wonder if they opened too soon after the soft opening? Not sure. That said, at this price point, I expect not only higher quality, but consistency. I am more than happy to pay even higher than average prices for a beverage, and make no mistake, the space itself is stunning, minimalist, and comfortable. Right now, it seems like their priorities lean more toward aesthetic rather than quality. We want to return but are going to hold off for the time being. read more

Walked past and decided to try it out and was sadly disappointed. I was excited to try their iced chai as I prefer it freshly brewed over concentrate. However it was bitter and had no flavor. I don't like overly sweet drinks however this one prompted me to ask for sweetener because it was un drinkable. It was 8 dollars for a 12 oz drink. Had it been delicious I could've overlooked the price, but it was so gross. Ended up leaving quickly and threw it in the trash still full. read more

One of the best coffee shops I ever experienced. Everything was perfect except for the coffee machine was outta service at the moment I visited, but doesnt matter cos I had a match tonic which was exceptionally good. read more

The space itself is beautiful & grand. It's open and welcoming, seems like a great location to study, get work done, or just chill out. I went a few days ago and was excited to try their iced matcha latte. I was very disappointed because I had heard they partnered with a reputable matcha brand. However, the matcha was tasteless and was overpowered by the milk. It also wasn't blended properly as I could see there was some chunks still & although matcha can come in different shades, it was off (yellowish green). I'll come back to try again in a few weeks to give it another shot. However, as far as matcha goes, there's a lot of competition in highland park & LA in general. read more

Personally wasn't my cup of tea. The space was super cool and almost futuristic looking. The seating options were nice as well. I'm usually a huge fan of matcha coconut drinks, which is what I ordered, but the matcha was so overpowering that I tasted none of the coconut. And while I love the earthy and slight bitterness of matcha, it was too concentrated/much for me which was surprising because I love strong matcha drinks. The baristas were nice and seemed knowledgeable about their menu when I asked for recs, but as someone who works in the area, I definitely felt a little out of place the day I visited. Perfect for people who prefer simple and pure drinks and atmospheres. read more
