I can't believe I have never written a review for this place. This Chinese restaurant is the spot to order from for family parties. Best know for their fried chicken with spicy salt trays which is so good and crunchy! Also their combination fried rice, people also order their fried fish, bbq chicken, and honey walnut prawns for parties. They're only takeout and they are always busy. Best to order ahead and allow yourself time to pick up before large parties. I just call to make an order and you pay when you pick up. I wish I could see their prices online or in person for the small and large trays. For a small chicken and small fried rice tray it cost over $100. So large trays are probably about $100. Tastes good and feeds a lot of people. Located in the island pacific plaza, plenty of parking and don't leave anything valuable in your car.

Best value of Chinese food in town! Their portion is huge, double size than Panda Express and fresh! I have been a regular customer for many years. Their salt and pepper chicken is very popular! But I also love their salt and pepper fish. You cannot beat the price for a whole plate of fish for less than $20!

One of our local favorites. Been coming here since I was little and they always stay consistent. Food taste great, always so generous with serving and you can't beat the price. $10-$11 for plates that is full to the top. We also use them for parties. Their party trays are priced well also. Salt pepper chicken, salt pepper fish, smelt fish and even their garlic brocolli is so good to name a few favorite dishes.Only sad part is they are close on Sundays and Mondays. The staff are always pleasant. Today we got one item with half fried rice and half chowmein with beef and brocolli and the other one is two item half and half with sweet sour pork and salt papper chicken all for $ about $24.

Not a sit down place strictly to go. Very busy during lunch lots of catering and they keep the food coming so everything was fresh, the chow mein was nice and so were the pot stickers. Good value for the amount and quality you get so solid 3.5

We love a combo express!! Although I know their food isnt the healthiest option, and i know for a fact there must be msg in their food because of how yummy/salty it can be but it satisfies my cravings so i gotta get it once in a while. If you order a large spicy salt chicken, they put the large takeout box inside a brown bag and not only fill the takeout box but they fill the whole paper bag with spicy salt chicken My favs: spicy salt chicken egg plant tofu chowmein walnut prawns

Truly a Vallejo gem! The staff is always so nice & generous with their portions, pricing is very reasonable & probably the best pricing you'll find. Party trays of chow mein, fried rice & spicy salt chicken are always a hit at parties! They pack the boxes with so much food, they barely close! They are closed on Sundays, but open Monday - Saturday & they DO take Apple Pay.

I stopped by Combo Express after hearing really great reviews from a couple of friends, and Combo Express did not disappoint! I tried; the Pork Chops, Sweet & Sour Pork, Spicy Eggplant, Salt & Pepper Chicken, the Fried Fish & Pot Stickers. Everything was fresh, tasty & delicious! I had company at the house when I bought these items and everyone loved it. I highly recommended! This is a "takeout only" restaurant, there is no seating inside. It's located in a strip mall. You may see some questionable people outside, but don't let that be the reason you don't try Combo Express! You won't be disappointed! :)

I am not exaggerating when I say this is my all-time favorite Chinese takeout restaurant! I grew up eating here, and I'm thrilled that nothing has drastically changed over the years. I'm still so happy to see a line of customers waiting to be served every time I visit--it's proof they're still thriving after all this time! For cheap, tasty food with large serving sizes, Combo Express is the place to go. My go-to combo is half fried rice, half chow mein, salt and pepper chicken, and barbecue chicken. The barbecue chicken is a classic, but the salt and pepper chicken is my absolute favorite. I could snack on it like popcorn chicken from boba shops, but paired with the fried rice? Absolutely delicious! I've also tried other dishes like the beef and broccoli, and everything is consistently great. During holiday celebrations, I often order their party platters--they're very affordable and come in generous portions. I genuinely love this place and always recommend it to people around me. It's well-deserving of a 5-star rating from me!

Combo Express is located in the Springstowne Shopping Center. My co-worker has purchased food here to bring to our work potlucks, so I am familiar with some of their dishes. They are know for their Spicy Salt and Pepper Chicken. I ordered the Spicy Salt and Pepper Chicken, Tofu with Eggplant, Chicken with String Beans, Chow Mein and Pot Stickers. Everything was very tasty, but the hit with my family was the Spicy Salt and Pepper Chicken. They do not have any seating to eat in as they are strictly take out only. They do a lot of party trays, so call in ahead of time to order for your next party or potluck.

Do they sell smelt on trays?

They don't sell smelt any longer

Is the chow fun made to order or ready upon arrival like at a panda express?

Their chow neon is on the steam table, but the chow fun is made to order. They have high customer volume so the food is often fresh.

Anyone know how the prices for party trays?

Party tray ranges between $25 and $35. They have pretty large servings. We regularly get food from them when we have gatherings.

The dining room is modern, clean, and inviting, with high ceilings and plenty of seating. While I was initially surprised by the wait since I was the only customer, the restaurant quickly filled with diners and takeout orders, making it obvious this place has built a loyal following. I ordered the new Wonton Ramen Soup, spicy and an order of lumpia. As a ramen fan, I can honestly say the broth was outstanding, rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The generous portion was loaded with fresh bok choy, perfectly cooked egg, green onions, and large wontons, creating a delicious fusion of classic wonton soup and ramen with a Tonkotsu broth. I also appreciated the oversized ladle-style soup spoon, which made it easy to enjoy every sip of that incredible broth and every bite of the fresh ingredients. The lumpia was crispy and good, but fairly standard. My only disappointment was the packaged sweet and sour sauce. A house-made dipping sauce would have paired much better with the quality of the food. The restaurant itself was very clean, but I'd recommend moving the bussing cart with used bowls, plates, and trash to the back of the kitchen. It's a small detail, but keeping it out of guests' view would make the dining room feel even more polished and inviting. Overall, Ramon 101 was good. Great broth, fresh ingredients, generous portions, make this a place I'll definitely return to. It's easy to see why the locals keep coming back.

They are so popular sometimes their phone is turned off in order to handle the orders. So for takeout during those times, you have to go in person, wait in a long line the length of the restaurant to place an order, then find a seat or wait outside for up to an hour.
