Stopped in to try a seasonal PSL. This is inside of a large building so you have to park in garage or find a spot out front. The pumpkin spice syrup was okay but not strong. The latte was quite milky and I didn't get any flavor of espresso at all - was a little disappointed. Maybe try a different latte if you go or add another shot of espresso?
What an odd name for a coffee shop located in the lobby of a medical office building. Er, I'm assuming this is a medical office building. I've only gone there to have blood work done, and even then, only because I couldn't get an appointment at any of the other locations, natch. My understanding is that this building was built back in the 1980s, maybe around the time they built the Galleria, with the thought that if they built one such building others would follow. Fast forward 40 years later and not only is this the only skyscraper in the area, it's one of the only (semi-) occupied structures on this accursed stretch of Brentwood Blvd. I imagine foot traffic is minimal, but I'd encourage anyone who just got off the MetroLink on their way to stab someone at the aforementioned Galleria to stop by and have a look. This place makes a mean Strawberry Matcha. It might honestly be better than the one I had at the Upshot in Clayton, which I passed on my run from here yesterday. It took all the strength of will I could muster to not stop and have a burrito, like when Bill Clinton used to stop at McDonald's on his runs back in the early '90s. Weirdly, I'm now the exact same age, and let's just say I get it. All of it. I love the fact that they give this drink to you not stirred, so you can see the separation between the milk, the strawberry syrup and the matcha (whatever that is). A girl I was with (but not "with," natch) remarked that it looked like an Italian flag. Also, it probably ensures that you're getting the various ingredients in the correct ratio. Sometimes you get these lattes, and they mostly just taste like milk. They're not putting enough syrup in them, and the issue might be that the syrup is visually indistinguishable from the rest of the drink. It's a brown-ish liquid in another brown-ish liquid. The only way to know if it's right would be to taste it, and I don't need some of these baristas tasting my drink. I don't know where their mouth has been. (Some of them could do literally anything and I'd be fine with it.) Anyway, it was a good drink. The burrito wasn't as good as the burrito at Upshot, but it might be the second best one that I've had, and I've had breakfast burritos from all over: Living Room, Bike Stop Cafe, Goshen Coffee Roasters. They give you the choice between bacon or a non-meat option. I didn't think to specify (the heat may have permanently damaged my brain), and they had the sense to give me bacon. Kudos! I like the fact that there's potato in addition to the bacon and egg, providing variety and heft. The monterey jack cheese gives it a vaguely southwestern vibe, and then the chipotle crema that comes with it (truly a miracle substance) really sets it off. I also got a Pesto and Parm Focaccia, on a recommendation from one of the girls in our group. I didn't need it, and if the taste was any indication, this was one of the least healthy things I've ever eaten--like an elevated Cheddar Bay Biscuit from Red Lobster, if you can imagine. But it was good, and it was further proof that this place knows what they're doing, weird name and location notwithstanding.
I will say this is a great spot for coffee. I ordered the honey lavender iced latte with oat milk and it met my expectations. The blend of espresso was pneumonia. I love the decorations inside. It is a classy brunch/ lunch location. The chocolate filled croissant was delicious! I loved the sugar cookie as well. Who ever the chef is needs to be recognized bc the food looked incredible. If you have not checked out this place you need to!
Coma is a great spot if you are in the area or, even better, if you are stopping in the building! I'm lucky my dermatologist is upstairs so I always stop by. I always get an iced caramel latte, and they rank well amongst other lattes I've tried. There is usually always a line, but service is quick at the counter, and I've never waited too long for my drink. One con is that it's fairly loud in here, and each time I've been, I've never been able to find a spot to sit inside. Luckily, each time I go I'm always taking my drink to do. I recommend Coma for your next coffee stop!
I love love love their seasonal strawberry matcha! Wish they had it year round. It's the absolute best in St. Louis and I've tried quite a few. Coma is also just such a good coffee shop to sit and work, or to catch up with someone. They have many different seating options, and although inconspicuous from the outside, is very cute and bright on the inside. Don't miss out their second floor, the stairs are near the entrance when you walk in.
I had a giftcard for here left from a long time ago so I decided to finally use it up. During covid this was my go to coffee place as they had half gallons to go. I ordered a vanilla latte and the seasonal spicy potato hash. My coffee was delicious and came out pretty quick. Sadly though my food took over 20 mins and the eggs were overdone. It was cold too by the time it got to me. Taste was good. It's a cool place with both an upstairs and a downstairs. Seems like a lot of people go there to work and spend a good amount of time there. Seating isn't always easy, but I did find a seat upstairs. I will def come back for coffee, maybe not to eat.
I remember stopping by this place years ago, and the coffee was good, but there wasn't anything that jumped out at me and made me want to come back. I finally returned, and this might as well be a completely different store. On this Sunday that I stopped in, people were all over, some socializing, some working, some grabbing food. There is plenty of hang out space inside and outside of the shop. I didn't grab any food, but that which I saw looked great. And the coffee was excellent as well. Definitely the type of place that invites you to stay awhile
Came back to give them another try. This time i was definitely impressed. The young lady working the register was friendly and welcoming. I was informed by the manager to come back and get my drink remade on the house. I showed the workers the message and my review, but they were unaware of what was going on. They quickly got on top of it and reached out to the owner for clarification and got me together. I ordered a honey Lavender Latte (iced). It was so delicious. It was not overly sweet and you can definitely taste both the honey and lavender. This may be my go to drink. I also ordered the breakfast Sammie. It's a breakfast sandwich with bacon, fried egg, cheese, and cinnamon butter on sourdough bread. They toasted the bread perfectly and sprinkled it with a touch of sea salt. I should've gotten a side of cinnamon butter or a little extra to incorporate a little more sweetness to balance out the salty. It was delicious and filling. Thank you Rachel for ensuring my next visit and drink was better than the first!
I was skeptical of this coffee shop from the exterior, but it has a quickly become one of my favorites! The staff is always so friendly and the food is so good. They are always packed, but they do have additional seating upstairs. We got a couple of pastries and some breakfast items with flavored lattes. I do like that they have some homemade syrups! Highly recommend this place for a quick brunch or coffee.
I f*cking love Coma Coffee. It is the perfect work from home / study / hangout spot. The food is great and I'm glad they have such a robust menu. Their drinks are also fabulous and I've been working my way through their menu. I gotta say the lavender latte is a favorite. Definitely wanna go back and try their cold brew with the chocolate cold foam! I will say for remote workers it can get a little loud. So bring your noise canceling headphones and make sure your laptop / devices are charged cause they don't have a ton of outlets either. All that to say, the wifi is strong and I've never had issues with it.
It's strong! It's black. It's strong black coffee! Jet A Fuel for me! She runs bold. This spot has great parking and plenty of space to work. The aesthetic is quiet and head down! She's also got snacks! For the folks who love the syrups and pumps here and there, they have you covered! Wish I liked it! Quick friendly service!
What an absolute gem in brentwood! In an area that is a desert for good coffee Coma can be your oasis. Multi level, vibey, and delicious. First and foremost the workers are awesome. Just a slew of coffee loving folks smiling and having a good time serving students, partners, professionals, and everyone in between. You can study, catch up with friends, and even have yourself an AM espresso martini. Bar seating, table seating, stools. No matter the occasion they got you set. Oh, and the pastry box is DECADENT! The confetti cookie is incredible.
I came in to test Coma out as a coffee shop to get some work done outside of my home office. Came in on a Friday late morning. Most of the tables downstairs were already taken but I lucked out and someone was leaving as I arrived. Didn't have a chance to peek upstairs but it seemed pretty busy. Variety of coffee beverages, including seasonal specials! I had a dirty turmeric latte special which had good flavor but note that is comes iced by default. Appreciates the variety of breakfast and lunch options but will say that the prices are kind of high for what you get. Definitely recommend a biscuit though! Great texture and flavor!

This breakfast burrito comes with potatoes, scrambled eggs, cheese, your choice of meat (I picked bacon) and a side of chipotle crema. In addition, I added tomatoes and onion. I would rate their burrito as 3 out of 5 stars. It was okay but it would have been better if they cooked eggs with salt and pepper. Plus cooked the chipotle crema inside the burrito inside of having it on the side as a cold dipping sauce. I placed my order online and I didn't see an option to request that. read more
I've been coming to Coma ever since they opened and was just a small coffeeshop, so to see that they moved across the building into the larger space, it's so crazy to see how big it's gotten through the years! Coma has always been such an aesthetic cafe, and drinks were always pretty solid! Parking is free and always available, and there is always some table available. Even the bench seats are comfortable and I honestly didn't mind sitting there either. My friend and I were studying there, which is another plus as their hours run pretty late so you can actually stay a while to do work! On the weekdays, they even have a happy hour to order their food. I've never ordered real food from a cafe before, but ended up getting the Smash burger and truffle fries. Both came out so good, and I was genuinely stuffed and couldn't even finish it all! This is a favorite coffeeshop of mine whenever I'm back in town, and now they even have food options which are great too! A half-off burger? Literally say less, lol! There's not many coffeeshops that offer everything that I need (space, parking, good coffee, food, tables), but Coma is one of them! read more

I got the breakfast sandwich. They put salt on top of the sourdough and I love both of those things! Friends got breakfast tacos, hot honey chicken tacos, and Brussel sprout hash. We all loved our food. For drinks we got espresso martini, seasonal old fashioned, americano, Irish coffee, and cortado. They were all good but except for the Irish coffee being just ok. The wait for food wasn't too bad despite it being busy. read more
Coma coffee is a great place for working people. I went around lunchtime and it was full of people working on their laptops. I would say this is not the type of coffee shop you would want to catch up with an old friend at. What I ordered: I got an oat milk latte and a brussel sprout hash without the bacon. The hash was not very hash-like, but it had great flavor. Coma features a lot of specialty coffees to try if you are feeling adventurous! read more

Coma recently expanded to the larger space next door. This new location has a 2nd story of additional dining with a better view across Brentwood Blvd. As of Tuesday, April 27 they are serving food in the evening, in addition to their breakfast service. Here's what we ordered during their dinner service: -Whiskey Onion Flatbread with mozzarella, goat cheese, bacon, chives, and port wine reduction -Goat Cheese Burger with a crap-ton of goat cheese, sun-dried tomato aioli, and arugula. We ordered the truffle fries to go with the burger. Could have used some aioli or ketchup on the side, but dragging the fries through the extra goat cheese from the burger was also a good option. -Crispy Brussel Sprouts. That's it. They were heckin' crispy and super flavorful with the Asian BBQ sauce. Throughout the last year, we have been ordering online for pickup curbside. They have been nothing but on time with orders and friendly when they have brought things to the car. Happy that they are still offering to go service even though they have re-opened dining inside. read more

Enjoyed the coffee here. Also got the fries... the fries were okay. Would come back for sure! read more
Coma is the epitome of everything I look for in a coffee shop. There's plenty of seating with natural sunlight, easy parking, plenty of coffee (and alcohol) options, and MOST IMPORTANTLY great food. Their food is comparable to that of any sit-down restaurant, beyond what I would expect from a coffee shop. There's even weekday happy hour from 3-6PM M-F. I usually get their smash burger, garlic fries, or chicken and waffles. I usually see a lot of people there working. There's a lot of counter space with easy outlet access. The upstairs seating area has large tables but no outlets. It does get pretty loud sometimes so I would not take meetings here. read more
My daughter and I headed to COMA to explore their dinner menu and cocktails. She had the brunch burger with a side of truffle fries, and I ordered the chicken and waffles. Both were good! We enjoyed our drinks as well: she had a mimosa, which initially tasted more of orange juice than anything but they were quick to correct that. I had the cilantro jalapeño margarita. I'm a big fan!! There is something refreshing about adding jalapeño to a margarita. Our server was awesome! She was very helpful with out decision-making. We went on a Thursday evening. There was a lot of business but still a few open tables. read more
Outdoor seating area is open. It's best to order online and someone will bring the food outside to you by name. They have a unique offering on the menu that I enjoyed. Pink Lady Latte $5.25 - This is not only a pretty drink getting its pinkness from beetroot powder, but was tasty and invigorating. Summer Avocado Toast $8 - Served on a sour dough, this toast was delightful and I only wish there was more of it. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . For over a year now, coma coffee has been one of my favorite go-to coffee shops in St. Louis. It's got the most amazing menu of coffee from drips to pour overs to lattes, and the menu changes with the seasons! Their breakfast and lunch menu is also phenomenal and the service is quick. Baristas are friendly as well, and the atmosphere is bright and joyful. They also have comfortable chairs which is a huge plus for me. And outlets under the bar seats!! It's lovely. read more

This place is open early on a weekend. Winning! The coffee was some special they had and it was meh. I expected more because they make the roast for The Annex and I love their coffee. Here at the real eels place....nah. The breakfast burrito was tasty and big enough to split but they had some weird chipotle sauce. A nice homemade salsa would have been better. read more

I'm literally always here to study. This was my favorite place to hideaway when I first moved to St. Louis and had no friends. What I liked a lot about it was how discreet it is within the building/area it is located. It has kinda sucked how packed it gets now, but the food never disappoints. I usually just take stuff to go. Their ricotta toast, breakfast burrito, and avo toast all smack. I love their roasts, but I did notice they put a lot of milk in their lattes, so I typically get cappuccinos from here. There are also a lot of creative drinks besides your typical coffee/chai/matcha. Some of the baristas are very kind and friendly! Some that work the kiosk can kind of give off an attitude-y vibe. But hey, it does get busy, so I can understand that. read more

Liquor in coffee... Ummmm yes. This place was literally a hidden gem my husband stumbled on while we were both out one early afternoon looking for a brunch/lunch type place. The staff was super helpful and patient while we made our choices of food and drink. I got the peach and goat cheese toast. The peaches were overkill but it was delicious nonetheless. Our coffee drinks were bomb! We had the espresso martini and Irish coffee. 10/10. I had the flora spritz also but did not care for it so I sent it back, they accepted it, no problem. I can't wait to come back and try more items. read more
Great coffee! I order a cold brew - highly recommended. Besides coffee, I also order Chicken Salad Wrap. The wrap was unique but delicious. Cute boxes though. In-door tables are currently unavailable but out-door sittings are open. A great place for chatting with friends & having light lunch/brunch while enjoying some sunshine. read more
The drink was absolutely amazing and the coffee shop is much more spacious than it looks on the outside. The burrito was huuuge too, I could have easily spilt one with a friend. If you're looking for a new STL study spot, this is your place! Bonus points for having strong wifi too! read more

A couple of days of trying coffee/tea in STL - 2 of 2 I saw this place, Coma Coffee, come up quite a bit in searches and it certainly does not fail in the "name recognition" department. Compared to an older and more "bohemian" looking coffeehouse I found on "the Hill," this place is quite the opposite, located across the street from the city's Galleria at the base of an office building and with a high likelihood that Stepfords may be in the vicinity. The name, "Coma," is definitely different but, upon looking at the photos, I liked the vibe of the interior, that is was opposite the Galleria, and that you could take the Metrolink Blue Line train to the same station as if you were going to the Galleria - Richmond Heights - and walk to this place. If driving, they have a lot that is common to the office complex. I came in a got a cup of Earl Grey tea and a big cookie. It was all fine. The service was very good. The price was what you'd expect. However, what is memorable about this place is the set-up inside. It has two levels, with a loft-type mezzanine jutting over most of the main level! You'd never guess that from looking at the '70s or '80s looking office building it's in. There are seats at the ground level, as well as seating at the coffee bar. Then, upstairs, there are tables and armchairs. That's where I sat and I really liked the atmosphere, as well as the elevated view across the street toward the Galleria (through the lowered shades, because the afternoon sun was setting in the west). Note that they make snacks and light meals. In fact, when I was there, they were taking photos to market their offerings in this realm. They looked pretty good, and sort of "pretty." However, because of the nearby Metrolink station, the nice neighborhood, and proximity to the Galleria, Coma Coffee would definitely call for a repeat visit, and, then, if time allowed for it, some exploration of other coffeehouses leaning "bohemian." read more

I'm definitely gonna give this spot another try but hope it goes better than my first time here. TL:DR - cappuccino A+, atmosphere A, Food B, Wait time/service F+ I popped in on a weekday afternoon to get a little work done and grab a bite to eat. When I walked in it was nice and busy but not too packed. I ordered a cappuccino and the deconstructed bagel and lox. My drink came out very promptly and was prepared wonderfully. They serve a great, balanced cappuccino. I went upstairs to the additional seating and was told my food order would be brought to me shortly. After waiting 30 minutes I was getting antsy for my food order but noticed the pair who sat down a little after me were waiting too. I figured I'd wait until I got to a better stopping point with my work. Once 45 minutes had gone by and the folks who ordered after me got their hot food before I got anything, i walked to the counter to check on my order. They said they'd check on it After a few minutes a server told me they had my order ready and it just got confused in the order system. I asked if it had been sitting out long or of had just been finished. I wanted to make sure the smoked salmon was still cold and the toasted bagel was still warm. She assured me it was freshly prepared. I sat to eat it and the bagel was cold and the salmon was room temperature. Womp womp! The atmosphere is great for working or lounging and the drink I had was perfect! 45min+ to wait for a bagel and lox was ridiculously disappointing. I'd come back bc the other aspects were stellar. Hopefully it's a fluke. read more

Great breakfast food options, lots of space & natural light. Lots of people reading, chatting, studying, or working. Espresso tonic was great & the strawberry matcha was solid, but not the best I've had. Overall great experience! read more
Coma Coffee Roasters is an amazing local coffee shop tucked away in Brentwood office building. While you may think its offerings are as bland as the mid-70's style skyscraper that houses it, you'd be wrong! Having just moved across the hall in said office building, Coma Coffee Roasters' new spot is giant and offers the opportunity for those of us still working from home a chance to put on real pants and venture out to do work somewhere other than our kitchen tables. While you may come for the ample, socially-distanced workspace, you'll stay for the caffeinated beverages and the brand new, expanded food menu! I have been a big fan of Coma Coffee Roasters' cold brew for quite some time. When they started canning this cool treat, I rejoiced at having easier access to this energy giving nectar. But having it right from the source is even better. The cold brew is smooth without being overpoweringly strong. The pastries have always been a delightful treat when working from Coma Coffee Roasters. This particular trip I ordered the bourbon blondie. The moist cake was so flavorful. And you could actually taste this hints of bourbon! And adding to my love of this baked good, the portion was huge. More than I wanted to eat, but I cut it and took more than half home for my boyfriend to try after work. For my lunch I ordered the Southwest quesadilla. The cheese blend was off the chain. And all the veggies complemented the dish so well. I really loved this brand new food offering. Would absolutely order it again. read more
