For as frequently as I come here, I cannot believe I have yet to leave a review. Coma has to be one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. The atmosphere is conducive to work (floor to ceiling windows make for a bright work, energizing environment), their coffee is delicious, their pastries and food menu are both fantastic, and the staff is friendly. I love working here when I have a lighter afternoon, I typically start with a tea and love that I can end my day with a cocktail :) On my most recent visit, I had brunch with colleagues - I opted for the breakfast tacos which were fantastic. I loved the ability to customize with flour or corn tortillas and breakfast meat (or meat substitute) of choice. I am also a big fan of the avocado toast. You can guarantee I'll be back for many more visits - I hope you enjoy this spot as much as I do! read more

Dare I say COMA makes some of the best coffee in the city?! Now that I've moved out of state, I miss it even more. I've been here several times and never had an espresso drink that I didn't like. Besides coffee, they also make a fantastically refreshing and delicious iced strawberry matcha. If you're hungry, there's a variety of food and pastry items. I am a fan of the breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito. It's hard to resist hanging out here for a few hours reading a book or quietly studying on a laptop. Better get here early to find a seat. I've been coming to Coma ever since they opened and was just a small coffeeshop, so to see that they moved across the building into the larger space, it's so crazy to see how big it's gotten through the years! Coma has always been such an aesthetic cafe, and drinks were always pretty solid! Parking is free and always available, and there is always some table available. Even the bench seats are comfortable and I honestly didn't mind sitting there either. My friend and I were studying there, which is another plus as their hours run pretty late so you can actually stay a while to do work! On the weekdays, they even have a happy hour to order their food. I've never ordered real food from a cafe before, but ended up getting the Smash burger and truffle fries. Both came out so good, and I was genuinely stuffed and couldn't even finish it all! This is a favorite coffeeshop of mine whenever I'm back in town, and now they even have food options which are great too! A half-off burger? Literally say less, lol! I got the breakfast sandwich. They put salt on top of the sourdough and I love both of those things! Friends got breakfast tacos, hot honey chicken tacos, and Brussel sprout hash. We all loved our food. For drinks we got espresso martini, seasonal old fashioned, americano, Irish coffee, and cortado. They were all good but except for the Irish coffee being just ok. Coma is easily my favorite coffee shop I have visited since temporarily moving to Missouri. Great coffee, vibes, staff, and surprisingly good food for a coffee shop. Coma doesn't look like much from the outside being located inside a typical office building but upon entering the spacious interior and two-level seating is cozy and welcoming. My go to beverage is a cappuccino and I appreciate the choice they offer for their house blend or single origin espresso for drinks. The presentation and quality is always great and the environment is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a drink or getting work done on a work-from-home day. Coma is the epitome of everything I look for in a coffee shop. There's plenty of seating with natural sunlight, easy parking, plenty of coffee (and alcohol) options, and MOST IMPORTANTLY great food. Their food is comparable to that of any sit-down restaurant, beyond what I would expect from a coffee shop. There's even weekday happy hour from 3-6PM M-F. I usually get their smash burger, garlic fries, or chicken and waffles. I usually see a lot of people there working. There's a lot of counter space with easy outlet access. The upstairs seating area has large tables but no outlets. It does get pretty loud sometimes so I would not take meetings here. read more

For over a year now, coma coffee has been one of my favorite go-to coffee shops in St. Louis. It's got the most amazing menu of coffee from drips to pour overs to lattes, and the menu changes with the seasons! Their breakfast and lunch menu is also phenomenal and the service is quick. Stopped by for caffeine on the way to the airport. Love the decor and aesthetic of this coffee shop, very modern and vibrant. I ordered an iced chai latte and my partner ordered a cappuccino. The service is pitiful. Stood at the counter literally for 20 or more minutes. The cashier nor the barista even acknowledge my existence. I've been in a restaurant industry for 30+ years. I didn't say a word I smiled and eventually just left. As I got up to leave, I noticed that the cashier with the tattoos and facial jewelry look over at me and give me a very dirty look as if there was something that I've done or some kind of a vibe that I might have given to cause her to completely dislike me I don't know what the hell that was all about!!? I don't leave bad reviews if I don't like a place I just don't go back and this is a place that I will not go back tohowever this had to be said I'm sure I'm not the only person that has ever had this experience but just stop a treatment at this place I hope things get better. I would say this is not the type of coffee shop you would want to catch up with an old friend at. What I ordered: I got an oat milk latte and a brussel sprout hash without the bacon. This new location has a 2nd story of additional dining with a better view across Brentwood Blvd. As of Tuesday, April 27 they are serving food in the evening, in addition to their breakfast service. Here's what we ordered during their dinner service: -Whiskey Onion Flatbread with mozzarella, goat cheese, bacon, chives, and port wine reduction -Goat Cheese Burger with a crap-ton of goat cheese, sun-dried tomato aioli, and arugula. We ordered the truffle fries to go with the burger. Could have used some aioli or ketchup on the side, but dragging the fries through the extra goat cheese from the burger was also a good option. -Crispy Brussel Sprouts. That's it. They were heckin' crispy and super flavorful with the Asian BBQ sauce. Throughout the last year, we have been ordering online for pickup curbside. They have been nothing but on time with orders and friendly when they have brought things to the car. I'm literally always here to study. This was my favorite place to hideaway when I first moved to St. Louis and had no friends. What I liked a lot about it was how discreet it is within the building/area it is located. It has kinda sucked how packed it gets now, but the food never disappoints. I usually just take stuff to go. Their ricotta toast, breakfast burrito, and avo toast all smack. I love their roasts, but I did notice they put a lot of milk in their lattes, so I typically get cappuccinos from here. There are also a lot of creative drinks besides your typical coffee/chai/matcha. Some of the baristas are very kind and friendly! Some that work the kiosk can kind of give off an attitude-y vibe. My daughter and I headed to COMA to explore their dinner menu and cocktails. She had the brunch burger with a side of truffle fries, and I ordered the chicken and waffles. Both were good! We enjoyed our drinks as well: she had a mimosa, which initially tasted more of orange juice than anything but they were quick to correct that. I had the cilantro jalapeño margarita. I'm a big fan!! There is something refreshing about adding jalapeño to a margarita. Our server was awesome! She was very helpful with out decision-making. We went on a Thursday evening. Love COMA but not May 6. Just after noon, my coffee had an off taste. But the worst thing was next to our 2 seater table was a tub that people put their dirty dishes in. A woman walked up & heavily sprayed the dirty dishes with something so close to us. Spray droplets spread around. My friend was so upset that he said he'd never go there again. I'm really happy. Want to know why? Because I'm drinking a vanilla oat milk latte from Coma. Coma is doing curbside pickup but they're also delivering, and they're making family-size lattes! We also got a carton of cold brew. Prices are a little steep but the product is amazing, and I love supporting one of my favorite coffee shops during this time. They also occasionally make speciality lattes in family size, including the Pink Lady: beetroot powder, cold brew, honey and oat milk. It's a very pretty light pink. Make all of your friends jealous! Liquor in coffee... Ummmm yes. This place was literally a hidden gem my husband stumbled on while we were both out one early afternoon looking for a brunch/lunch type place. The staff was super helpful and patient while we made our choices of food and drink. I got the peach and goat cheese toast. The peaches were overkill but it was delicious nonetheless. Our coffee drinks were bomb! We had the espresso martini and Irish coffee. 10/10. I had the flora spritz also but did not care for it so I sent it back, they accepted it, no problem. Coma is a nice space! They have an upstairs and downstairs, so a decent amount of seating as well as outdoor seating when it's nice out. I have not yet had a food I didn't like yet from here. Their service is pretty good, they try to have your food out to you in a timely manner. It can get a little noisy depending how busy it is. It is a decent spot for studying or working on group projects if you don't mind some background noise. My favorite drink is the strawberry matcha and they also have a good selection of baked goods if you want something quick. read more

When I walked in it was nice and busy but not too packed. I ordered a cappuccino and the deconstructed bagel and lox. My drink came out very promptly and was prepared wonderfully. They serve a great, balanced cappuccino. I went upstairs to the additional seating and was told my food order would be brought to me shortly. After waiting 30 minutes I was getting antsy for my food order but noticed the pair who sat down a little after me were waiting too. I figured I'd wait until I got to a better stopping point with my work. Once 45 minutes had gone by and the folks who ordered after me got their hot food before I got anything, i walked to the counter to check on my order. They said they'd check on it After a few minutes a server told me they had my order ready and it just got confused in the order system. I asked if it had been sitting out long or of had just been finished. I wanted to make sure the smoked salmon was still cold and the toasted bagel was still warm. She assured me it was freshly prepared. I sat to eat it and the bagel was cold and the salmon was room temperature. Womp womp! The atmosphere is great for working or lounging and the drink I had was perfect! 45min+ to wait for a bagel and lox was ridiculously disappointing. I'd come back bc the other aspects were stellar. A couple of days of trying coffee/tea in STL - 2 of 2 I saw this place, Coma Coffee, come up quite a bit in searches and it certainly does not fail in the "name recognition" department. Compared to an older and more "bohemian" looking coffeehouse I found on "the Hill," this place is quite the opposite, located across the street from the city's Galleria at the base of an office building and with a high likelihood that Stepfords may be in the vicinity. The name, "Coma," is definitely different but, upon looking at the photos, I liked the vibe of the interior, that is was opposite the Galleria, and that you could take the Metrolink Blue Line train to the same station as if you were going to the Galleria - Richmond Heights - and walk to this place. If driving, they have a lot that is common to the office complex. I came in a got a cup of Earl Grey tea and a big cookie. It was all fine. The service was very good. The price was what you'd expect. However, what is memorable about this place is the set-up inside. It has two levels, with a loft-type mezzanine jutting over most of the main level! You'd never guess that from looking at the '70s or '80s looking office building it's in. There are seats at the ground level, as well as seating at the coffee bar. Then, upstairs, there are tables and armchairs. That's where I sat and I really liked the atmosphere, as well as the elevated view across the street toward the Galleria (through the lowered shades, because the afternoon sun was setting in the west). Note that they make snacks and light meals. In fact, when I was there, they were taking photos to market their offerings in this realm. They looked pretty good, and sort of "pretty." However, because of the nearby Metrolink station, the nice neighborhood, and proximity to the Galleria, Coma Coffee would definitely call for a repeat visit, and, then, if time allowed for it, some exploration of other coffeehouses leaning "bohemian." read more

This was a nice hidden gem. We got in the car from our hotel with plans to go to another favorite coffee spot in St. Louis, only to realize they weren't open yet. I quickly look up Coma on Yelp because I knew it was close. I didn't realize it was in the same parking lot as the hotel. The building in unassuming, but you walk into this bright, white, and sunny spot with lots of bar and table seating. All of the coffee drinks I saw looked awesome. I decided to go with a pumpkin spice latte (local coffee shop versions are always 10x better) and my husband went with a matcha soda (they were out of the special syrup advertised). Both were SO good. If we would have been there another morning we would have gone there again, no questions asked. Also want to note that we didn't have any food at Coma, but next time I would save myself for their breakfast. It looked delicious! I saw hefty portions for a great price. read more

The only complaint I have is that the staff aren't very friendly and one time my mom ask the barista what type of pastry something was and she snapped at her and acted like she was dumb. While you may think its offerings are as bland as the mid-70's style skyscraper that houses it, you'd be wrong! Having just moved across the hall in said office building, Coma Coffee Roasters' new spot is giant and offers the opportunity for those of us still working from home a chance to put on real pants and venture out to do work somewhere other than our kitchen tables. While you may come for the ample, socially-distanced workspace, you'll stay for the caffeinated beverages and the brand new, expanded food menu! I have been a big fan of Coma Coffee Roasters' cold brew for quite some time. When they started canning this cool treat, I rejoiced at having easier access to this energy giving nectar. But having it right from the source is even better. The cold brew is smooth without being overpoweringly strong. The pastries have always been a delightful treat when working from Coma Coffee Roasters. This particular trip I ordered the bourbon blondie. The moist cake was so flavorful. And you could actually taste this hints of bourbon! And adding to my love of this baked good, the portion was huge. More than I wanted to eat, but I cut it and took more than half home for my boyfriend to try after work. For my lunch I ordered the Southwest quesadilla. The cheese blend was off the chain. And all the veggies complemented the dish so well. I really loved this brand new food offering. Would absolutely order it again. read more
