I came here for the first time last month and what a cute spot! Located in the heart of The Hill, Shaw's is a lovely spot for a cup of coffee with a pastry! The interior is beautiful because it used to be an old bank so it's got seating in an old vault, beautiful ceiling details, and there's plenty of space for seating. I had a decaf iced caramel latte with a mushroom-spinach and feta mini quiche and it was delicious! The service was friendly and quick as well, which was great! Looking forward to coming back soon!

A whole vibe! I was craving a holiday-themed warm coffee on a snowy day, and this spot delivered. Their menu is extensive. I even snapped a pic to share because there were so many options. I ended up going with the gingerbread latte, and it was perfect. I also tried the blueberry cobbler, warmed up, and every bite was delicious. It's a cute shop with plenty of space. Highly recommend for a coffee, smoothie, pastry, or even a comfortable spot to get some work done.

Came here on a Wednesday with a friend to do some work. This is the cutest coffee shop ever! The workers were super nice and they had a great menu with lots of options, including food. After we placed our order we went and sat down while we waited for them to call our name. I got a chocolate muffin and a café au lait and my friend got a blueberry pancake latte off their seasonal menu. The muffin was served with the fork and on the plate warmed up, and both drinks were served in mugs. We sat right next to the coffee roaster and saw them roasting some coffee firsthand, which was really cool. We both got some great work done and that super cozy environment. I would definitely be coming back because they had lots of seating and great drinks and food. Parking can be tricky anywhere on the hill, but it wasn't too bad to find parking during the middle of the day.

By far my favorite coffee shop in STL! Great coffee, fair prices, awesome staff and spectacular interior. Always a great place to catch up with friends or get some work done!

The cutest seasonal drinks I've seen at a coffee shop yet! Even for Halloween, they had an adorable little ghost latte that totally stole my heart. Their food was just as good -- the pumpkin cream cheese muffin came out warm, rich, and perfectly spiced. The space itself is super cool, with tons of seating and details to take in. It looks like it used to be an old bank, with big windows that fill the place with natural light. Service was a little slow, so a small line had formed, but our order came out pretty quick. Such a perfect way to start a cozy fall morning.

Came here in a snowy day for a break between work and I have not stopped thinking about how delightful this coffee was! The space is fairly large and it was popular around noon so finding a table was challenging. I also wish there were more plugs, but I was able to make it work! I as hoping to order food here and did not see a full food menu so I got a scone. The scone was fine, but the coffee was so delightful and living in the front of my brain that I had to give a 5 still!

The coffee is amazing! The Kolache's were fantastic! The service was off the chain. I came in here once and when I came back a few days later the cashier remembered my order and a bit about me! So personal and caring!

UMM excuse me... why have I not tried this gem sooner?? I visited here for the first time bright and early on a Saturday morning, and I instantly fell in love. I had a busy day ahead of me so I ordered my drinks to-go, but I seriously can't wait to come back and hang out to get some work done or catch up with friends. Such amazing vibes inside, especially with all the plants! I always love when a coffee spot offers fun seasonal beverages. I ended up ordering two drinks from their Valentine's menu, but they also had their St. Patrick's menu available, and I'll definitely be back in the near future to check those out. I tried an Iced Cupid's Kiss Latte, which includes marshmallow creme hearts and strawberry cold foam. My partner had an Iced XOXO Mocha, which includes cherry amaretto and mocha. One of my pet peeves about iced coffee is when it tastes like straight milk. It's safe to say that Shaw's exceeded my expectations with this! Both drinks were incredible and perfectly balanced. I regretted not ordering a pastry. Everything looked delicious!

Stopped by this cute neighborhood coffee shop for morning coffee. There's good non caffeinated and caffeinated beverages. I got Vietnamese style iced coffee- it was great. The service was quick and smooth. They also have vault in there to check out. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

My 2025 coffee shop tour continues and this week it found me at Shaw's. I walk in mid morning on a Sunday and the place is buzzing--for good reason. This place is unique and beautiful. I think it is an old bank. There is a huge vault that actually has seating inside of it. The atmosphere is lively. Friends, family gathered to sip coffee and enjoy good company. Others studied or worked. The workers were a pleasure. Each one crafting coffee with a huge smile. Super polite, respectful, and their charm added to the homey feel. My coffee was great, i had a black coffee and a latte. Both were great. No complaints at all. The biggest thing I look for in my iced lattes is A LOT of ice. Boom, they passed with flying colors. A super awesome spot filled with even cooler people. Grab a friend head to Shaw's and grab a seat while you enjoy some solid grounds.

I visited Shaw's coffee one day after a big snowstorm. This coffee shop has a friendly atmosphere with lots of seating. They offer coffee flights, signature coffee drinks, and a small selection of baked goods. I ordered their vanilla latte, my typical go to drink when I go to a coffee shop, and overall it was good. It had a deep rich coffee flavor that was lightened up by milk. It was lightly sweetened. Overall I enjoyed the drink. This is one of many coffee shops that I hope to come back to in the future!

Coffee is always delicious, love how they have seasonal menus with specialty drinks. Service is always so nice and friendly and the atmosphere is such a cool original vibe with the original bank vault! Outdoor seating as well

i appreciated my visit to Shaw's! ive heard such good things so was excited to try it. the staff was so patient as i decided what i wanted and answered all of my questions! i was a little disappointed that they didn't have any house-made syrups, but loved the creativity of their menu! i ordered the blueberry pancake latte and vietnamese coffee, unfortunately i didn't love either and didn't finish them, but there's so many options im looking forward to trying something else!

I was even more pleasantly surprised to see MUD\WTR on the menu, I recently quit drinking caffeine, and of course I have seen a lot of ads for mushroom coffee, I very much appreciated the opportunity to order it here as opposed to having to buy it online to try it. Personally, I liked the mushroom coffee, I have always drank coffee black and I appreciated the flavor of the mushroom, turmeric and additional spices.

It took all my strength to not buy one of everything but I selected on four picks for my first of two visits, as well as a bag of their sourdough shortbread that I just finished today and am already missing. I was also given a taster of their apple crisp with my first order, which was very delicious and will be a great addition to any holiday meal. The maple glazed doughnut was soft, a perfect classic. The cranberry ginger jam was delicious and punchy, but could have used a little something on the actual doughnut to balance out how strong it was. I enjoyed both kolaches; the everything seasoning one is well reminiscent of the classic bagel and schmear with its cream cheese center, and the three cheese bacon had good sized strips of bacon baked in. Perhaps my favorite was my take home item from the next day, their cinnamon roll. I warmed it up a little, not that it needed it. Pillowy soft with a delicious frosting. I also miss that already too. I really appreciate that you can also pick up local eggs and milk from this spot with Fed From The Farm. As you can see, it was very busy around 9am when I came in Saturday morning, but the line moves quickly and there's space in the back to wait for your order. The parking lot is small and fills quickly but nearby street parking seems feasible enough. Really glad I got to check out this spot!

I'd just done a training run that began and ended at the shoe store across the street. At the conclusion, I was given a Paloma-flavored non-alcoholic beer, courtesy of one of my running group's sponsors, but what was I supposed to do with that? It was decided that we needed coffee. (How ironic, by the way. Receiving a free beer from your sponsor.) We seem to have gotten there just in time. There was already a healthy crowd of people who apparently weren't runners, based on their physique (lol jk), and several people from our running group arrived after we did. People apparently like this place. The vibe is quirky and independent, with a lot of random decor, including a Blues Brothers poster and a sign declaring that the Teletubbies are welcome, and a lot of local-interest signage and artwork. People in the City love to remind themselves that they're in St. Louis. You never see anything like that in my native West County. Truth be told, I wouldn't even go into a coffee shop unless someone else suggested it. It costs less at QT. But I figured when in Rome. I wasn't about to get a sandwich, in part because I wasn't hungry, and in part because I'm always wary of food from places that specialize in coffee, but I figured I'd try one of their fancy coffee drinks instead of just a regular coffee. I went with something called a Zippity Do Da, or something to that effect. It was a latte, served hot or cold (I of course went with hot), with... if I'm not mistaken, peanut butter, honey and mocha. I liked the idea that there was a peanut butter element, in part because I couldn't imagine what that would be like. Peanut butter, even the welfare version you get at Aldi, is at least somewhat viscous. Was this going to be more like a milkshake? That could be gross, and grossly caloric, canceling out any benefit of my training run. Of course I was going to drink it anyway. Turns out that the peanut butter was the element that was least prominent in the overall taste of this drink, though you could in fact taste it. I found it impressive that, if you concentrated hard enough, you could detect elements of peanut butter, honey and mocha. It's like when you purchase a fancy bottle of wine, from, perhaps, the aforementioned Aldi, and you really can taste bits of oak, vanilla, campfire and a slight nuttiness. No Diddy. These people are true coffee artists, the cafe equivalent of people who work at Subway. I'm at the nearby shoe store every once in a while, so maybe I'll return. I might even cop a bagel.
