Peri peri chicken sandwich
Julianne G.

I have been here in the past, but recently saw they had updated their menu and wanted to give them another try. We were seated fairly quickly as it was before 5. Our waitress was very friendly and on top of things throughout. However, neither my husband or I liked our food, especially at the price point. He ordered a burger, fries and a salad. I ordered the peri peri fried chicken sandwich. I imagined that there was some spicy peri peri and then some sweet slaw to compensate and balance, but it arrived with so much peri peri sauce on it the bun was drenched and the sauce was too overpowering. I ended up throwing away half the bun. The chicken itself was great and cooked perfectly. I could see myself ordering this again but asking for only a small amount of the peri peri. I also ordered a different side than fries and was told there was an upcharge. I expected a couple bucks, but it was an extra $10 for the upgrade. Come on! Most places charge less than that for an additional side dish, let alone for a switch. So my husband and I both were charged an extra $10, me for my upgrade and he for his side salad. This made our bill ridiculous for our enjoyment of the food. I know prices have gone up everywhere, but there are plenty of other upscale places around where I can get better food for less.

Dr. BBQ burger with brisket and Mac n cheese and shoe string fries! Very good

Luke John Conte and Savanah were amazing servers! Very thoughtful and kept our drinks filled and great banter with fun conversation. The food was very yummy and came out hot and fast. Can't wait to come back. The deviled eggs with panko are the best and the shoe string fries and onion rings too.

Plant-based dumplings and Date Night Brussels Sprouts.

What a delightful surprise! After arriving at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT), we decided to stop by Colton's Social House for a late night nosh before heading to the nearby Holiday Inn Express for the night and driving back to Bakersfield the following morning. As someone who follows mostly a plant-based diet, I was overjoyed to discover such tasty options. The Date Night Brussels Sprouts were absolutely amazing; roasted to perfection with a crispy exterior and tender interior, coated in a sweet-savory glaze that had just the right balance of flavor and texture. They were so delicious that I couldn't get them out of my mind! The plant-based dumplings were just as scrumptious, and we even savored the leftovers for breakfast at the hotel the next day. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, the service was top-notch, and the location is incredibly convenient, only a short drive from the airport to our hotel. We will certainly make Colton's Social House a regular stop whenever we fly into FAT. With no Delta Sky Club and limited plant-based dining options at the airport, this is the ideal first (or last) stop. Highly recommend!

Right away you are greeted and seated. I love the phrase they use ( I can't remember it but it goes with their name ). We sat by the bar area. The ambiance was good music and games showing on the screen. The burgers we ordered were very good. I got a chicken one and it was huge! The wings were more on a sweet side. My drinks was strong but sweet too ( I loved it and wish I knew its name! ).

I absolutely loved this restaurant. It has very casual dining vibes, and we sat outside and had such an amazing time full of laughter, good food, and great conversation. I ordered the Dr. BBQ Burger, and it was SO good. The burger itself was cooked perfectly, and the mac & cheese on the side was incredibly creamy and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The real standout for me, though, was the garlic parmesan fries. They were absolutely to die for, and the dipping sauce they come with was so delicious. I would 10 out of 10 recommend upgrading to the garlic parmesan fries instead of getting the regular fries. We also shared the brownie dessert, which was rich, creamy, and so good. The olive oil topping added such a unique touch and really elevated the dessert. Our server, Amber, was amazing and incredibly sweet throughout the entire meal. Overall, this was a 10 out of 10 experience, and I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a fun, casual meal with really great food.

Been here twice now, and I definitely think it's a good spot to be, especially late-night! They are open late, which is a plus for my friends and I since we are either working during the day and/or at night and usually cannot meet for dinner until after 8PM. Not to mention, the food portions are very good - I definitely either leave full or with leftovers. Even the nacho appetizer is huge and can definitely feed 2 people. The service is always great too, and I love that you can split the bill multiple ways for multiple people. For instance, we split the bill by item for two people, but then two other people in our party shared some items, so they were able to split those items 50/50, which I've never seen before. I also really appreciate that we went one night, and the server told us to stay as long as we want to chat, and we really did - and they did not try to kick us out. Loved that! The vibes are good, the food is good - just a generally good place to be.

If you're in the Clovis Area, you're going to have to come here. They live up to their name: Best all-around restaurant. This is one of those restaurants where you come back because 1) the quality of the food 2) the service/vibes 3) the cravings you'll have after coming here. It was our first time here and Travis was our waiter. SO KIND! Can we just applaud for the service? They are amazing. Bartenders attend to you right away at the bar and greeters greet you right away. If there's a wait, it's totally worth it. Come for the experience and ask for Travis as your waiter. He genuinely was a delight. Thank you and we plan to share our experience with friends who come to town.

Came in on a Saturday shortly after lunch, expecting a bit of a wait, but was pleasantly surprised when we were seated right away. I ordered The Smash with the patty cooked medium, and it was done perfectly. The bun was rich and buttery, the guacamole was well-seasoned, the provolone melted beautifully, and the bacon had the perfect crisp. All of the fresh veggie toppings really brought everything together. The fries with Colton's sauce are also worth mentioning--they were absolutely delicious. The restaurant has an upscale gastropub vibe with a great ambiance. We sat indoors, but the outdoor seating looked just as inviting. Everything felt very well put together, clean, and well maintained--even the restrooms stood out in that regard. There's also plenty of parking since it's located within a complex, which is always a plus. Our server, Ky, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm definitely looking forward to coming back.

Flank Steak Sandwich

This was the second time I've been here. Was here pre-COVID and experience then was less than stellar. Not much has changed. We got seated in the bar which wasn't horrible until I realized I was seated in the worst seat in the place with no way to block the rays of sun directly in my eyes. No offer to move us and was told it will only be for 15 minutes or so... nope. We ordered a flank steak sandwich to split. It was good, as well as the beer battered fries. The Oaxacan Old Fashioned was just OK. Won't be coming back soon.

I believe this was the Bayou Buttered Shrimp. My buddy ordered it.

This place is definitely a bit more upscale compared to Applebees. The modern decor with the Blue Led lighting made this for a great dinner with some friend in town. I gotta also mention, the service was great and tentative. Our server was great, always seeing to it that we are doing well, if we needed more drinks or anything else. The food was also great, every dish looked and tasted great. The Steak was cooked perfectly just the way I like it, medium rare. Definitely recommend with friends or for a date, night out with the love or loved ones we well.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks and nachos which were tasty and a large amount. We got the Cobb salad and Reuben sandwich. The salad was huge and was very good. The sandwich was fine with a nice smoky flavor. The fries were good too. We sat outside which had a laidback ambiance. Service was quick and friendly. Reasonable prices. Located near the Sierra Vista mall with plenty of parking.

A half wedge salad and a "lettuce wrapped" Dr. BBQ

Oh my goodness the food was great, the drinks were amazing, and my husband loved his burger! We loved the appetizers, dumplings and he loved the jalapeño poppers. I'm off alcohol right now and, I had the I'm just Ken and not only was it beautiful it was delicious. I had a black bean burger on a pretzel bun and what can I say it was a black bean burger. I swear I've had that exact one at another restaurant and I can't remember where, Tahoe perhaps... Anyway go and have a drink and have some yummy food. The service was great, the atmosphere was cute and they have sports on TV if you like the sports like my husband! Go teams!

Mother of Dragons with a "torched" rosemary sprig that was most definitely NOT torched. Boring lemonade-tasting cocktail.

Ask the Community - Colton's Social House

Do they deliver?

Only on Uber Eats

When did your hours change Monday to Thursday ? 4 to midnight?

They are temporary hours starting today. So we can focus on some building maintenance and staff training. Should hopefully be only this week and next week.

The website says you can join a waitlist via yelp, but I'm not seeing that option. How do we do that?

I joined their waitlist on their web page awhile back and someone else called them to be put on the list.

When is happy hour?

10pm- 12am sunday-thursday

Hi about six of us want to go tonight for dinner reservations but it looks like you're booked can we be put on a waitlist please?

You can always give the restaurant a call. See if there are cancelations or reservation slots that aren't available online.

Do they have a kids menu?

They sure do. My 8 year old loves the food there!

What time does brunch end?

2pm on Sundays

What time and days are their happy hour?

Social Hour 4 - 6 PM | Monday - Friday & 10 PM-Midnight | Every Night…

Do they take reservations?

You can make a reservation for up to 6 people with us through Yelp. If you have more than 6 guests, you’ll need to call the restaurant so that we can get some more information and check if we’ll be able to accommodate you!

Is it still the same owners as "Sweetriver or sweetwater?

No, sweet river was a franchise and ran by a franchisee. Colton’s is a new place with all new management!

Our Waitress Kathrine " Katy" was the most absolutely amazing waitress we have ever had the pleasure of being served by! She was a perfect example of what a professional waitress should be. She was on point with service, perfect timing with drink refills, appetizer and main salad timing. I cannot stress the fact that I was very impressed with her service. The ambiance was geared more toward trendy " young" which is great for the young trendy crowd, but it was done tastefully and didn't bother us in the least. I don't expect any modern successful places to cater to the old fashion romanticists. As there's not many of us left. So I bet you are wondering what we ate? We started with the Calamari, which was absolutely prepared with perfection. Not many chefs can do it right, but it was absolutely delicious, a flawless creation in my opinion. We chose the 42 oz Tomahawk steak medium rare. I will say without exaggerating that it was absolutely delicious and one I f the best steaks I have ever had. The temp was perfect! The char was absolutely spot on. And it was so tender it melted in your mouth. I want to be sure to give my compliments to the Chef, and thank the manager for a great experience. Although the food was amazing one of the reasons we will come back is because of the impression Kathrine made. I hope she hears about her review.

My partner and I came to celebrate our birthdays and we ordered: Sourdough bread appetizer - bread was crispy yet chewy and the two spread were delicious! You get an olive tapenade spread and a pimento cheese spread; both were very good and offered different taste profiles. Cobb salad - wasn't my favorite. It was heavy on the dressing and blue cheese crumbles which overpowered the overall flavor. I also didn't like how it was served with whole strips of bacon. I would have preferred them slices or crumbled. Wouldn't order again. Sautéed mushrooms - delectable! One of my fav dishes. Super flavorful and not overcooked. Would order again. Mac n cheese - one of the thee top Mac n cheese I've ever tried. Creamy and a little spicy and flavorful. Would definitely reorder and recommend. Filet mignon - cooked perfectly medium rare and was super tender, melt on your mouth goodness! Did not need any sauce or seasoning. Good as is. Perfection. Dry aged ribeye- this was a huge disappointment. There was NO flavor to this steak whatsoever; it didn't even taste like beef. The only positive is the texture; it was super soft and tender, melt in your mouth. Besides the texture, it was really lacking in any flavor. Because it was my birthday, I did get a free dessert which was nice. The reason I'm giving this place a 4 star is because of the service. The host and servers were a little snobby to be honest and I've been to other upscale restaurants with better and friendlier service. Their demeanor was off putting enough that I wouldn't come back unfortunately. Good food, mediocre service.

We headed in at an odd time yesterday around 230pm. It was late for lunch and too early for dinner. Nevertheless, we were seated in the front dining area, and ordered some entrees. The menu offers a lot of familiar favorites that you would expect to see at a a bar/ restaurant. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a few specialty plates. For my meal, I ordered The Local burger (no pickles of course) which was absolutely fantastic. Piled high with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes - this burger was executed to perfection. I ordered it medium, and it came out medium (imagine that). The best part was the sunny side egg that was placed on top. That first bite was heavenly. The yolk breaks, and all the goodness adds a little extra flavor to the already delicious burger. The shoe string fries were seasoned perfectly- I highly recommend this entree. The only thing I would add next time is an element of spice to take things up to another level. My wife ordered the BLTA sandwich , with sweet potato fries. I didn't try a bite because I had enough bacon on my burger , but I did sneak a sweet potato fry , and it was fantastic. My son order the chimichurri steak , he seemed to enjoy it although it may have had too much sauce on it for his liking. Perhaps it would been better if he ordered the sauce on the side. My picky daughter ordered the pesto chicken sandwich ,and she said it was pretty good. My family and I were full , but weren't going to let the dessert options pass us by. My family has a sweet tooth. We all shared the chocolate cake and bread pudding . Both are nice options if you need something sweet to top off your meal. The food and vibe of this place deserves 5 stars. I will deduct one star for the mediocre service and inconsistent food prep. Our meals were coming out one by one which made it awkward when trying to eat together. Our server didn't offer refills on our drinks , and didn't bring us utensils -until we asked for them. I will be back to try more menu items , and enjoy a cold beer while watching the game.

The food itself was okay, but nothing particularly memorable or worth the long waits. We really enjoy supporting local businesses and always hope to find new places to return to, but based on this experience, we will not be coming back.

It turned out to be such an enjoyable spot to dine, and we really appreciated their effort. Our server, Olive, was absolutely fantastic! She was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Every detail of her service was handled beautifully. A big thank you to Olive for making our evening so enjoyable! As for the food, the pizza was absolutely delicious! Our steak had a wonderful smoky flavor from being cooked over an open flame, although we weren't particularly impressed with the meat itself. The salad and potatoes, however, were excellent. Unfortunately, the chocolate dessert served in a glass was disappointing. I understand the idea of balancing chocolate with salt and pistachios to create a more complex flavor profile, but this dessert was surprisingly not sweet at all. It genuinely tasted like salty chocolate, which I found unpleasant. Definitely not something we enjoyed. One other thing stood out to us from a hospitality perspective. We were seated directly across from the pizza chef and the chef working the open-fire grill, yet neither acknowledged us throughout the evening. Not even a smile, eye contact, or a simple "How's the food?" I completely understand that chefs are focused on cooking and that guest interaction isn't necessarily their responsibility. However, when you're working in an open kitchen with guests sitting right in front of you, a little acknowledgment goes a long way. What made it particularly noticeable was that they were chatting with each other throughout the evening while seemingly ignoring the guests just a few feet away. It felt rather unwelcoming, especially in an otherwise excellent hospitality environment. Overall, we loved the atmosphere, the hostesses were wonderful, Olive provided outstanding service, and most of the food was delicious. These little delights are a must try as they are the perfect blend of creamy , salty and crunchy. For our entrees, we ordered the Margherita pizza and rigatoni with sausage. First of all, the wood fired pizza was cooked perfectly with a nice balance of sweetness from the pizza sauce and crunch factor from the dough. The homemade rigatoni pasta was to die for with the sausage ragu working its magic including a subtle spice added throughout to give it that nice kick of flavor. Well done team Annex! Anyways, with regards to the food, my partner and I got some spicy baked mussels to share, with a ribeye steak and lamb chops for entrees. The mussels were pretty underwhelming - I felt that it was just spicy for the sake of being spicy and didn't offer much in terms of flavor. With the entrees, we asked for the lamb chops to be cooked medium but they came rare, whereas the steak did come in medium rare as ordered. The lamb chops were okay but the steak was extremely salty and a bit too charred; I had to wash down my bites with water. With both entrees we were given a choice of either rice pilaf or garlic baked potatoes. The rice pilaf legit tasted like elementary school lunch rice (the ones with the teriyaki meat patties if you recall the 2000s, iykyk). The potatoes were alright, not bad but not great. Also wanted to note that both dishes came with like 2-3 tiny cherry tomatoes which is barely anything and would last you at most a couple of bites. Last thing I wanted to note is pricing. The lamb chops were in the upper $30s and the steak was $59, which pretty overpriced imo for whay is presented. Of course, that's also on me for trying to go for a "16 oz" steak (which I kinda doubt it was) vs. their pastas or other popular dishes but I think it's worth pointing out. All in all, I really think you can get much better bang for your buck at other semi-fancy/fancy places such as LimeLite or Willow Osteria to name a couple of examples. I would give this a 1 but the service was admittedly quite solid. Sadly, I don't think we'll come back.

The restaurant itself is gorgeous! $225 total for two people so keep that in mind, that includes our drinks and a shared dessert. A splurge but also worth it for a special occasion

We came for our 12 year anniversary and the staff were quick, nice, and attentive. The buffet type items were all pretty good. Nice range on the charcuterie. The included mash potatoes were a favorite for my husband. The bananas (baked? Fried?) were one of my favorite parts of the dinner. All the meats were not super salty this time around. They rotated the items quick and we got to try a bunch of stuff. Drinks were also tasty. We decided on the mojitos and I was recommended a mango peach with tajin rim (solid choice). For dessert, we got crème brûlée which was just okay. Easy to skip. Small detail, but they didn't have any kind of complimentary anniversary treat (at least mot for us lol). Every other nicer (and even not as nice) restaurant we've been to for our anniversaries/birthdays came with either champagne or a dessert to celebrate. They did go through with decorating what we ordered though. Not a huge deal, but just something to note if you're planning to celebrate anything. Overall, we'll definitely be back again. We had a great time and it felt like a great date night spot.
