Usually, I really enjoy their iced vanilla lattes and their Midsommar Latte. However, the past five times I've ordered either of the two, it has been disappointing every time. The ratio is off and it's just not as good as it could be. I'm a fan of their Passion Fruit Matcha Tonic. It's not a drink I would normally order but I'm glad I did because it's delicious! I've ordered it at least twice and it's been consistently good. Their pizza is YUM. The Rosa was really good and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Smashed Fingerling Potatoes: these were just ok. Nothing super special about them. I love potatoes so they do the job when I want potatoes. Croissant Breakfast Sandwich: very greasy. This one was a thumbs down for me. Parking can be difficult to find, but I'm usually able to find one.

This review is for the coffee, pastries and desserts only. When my sister comes to visit me from Northern California, she always goes to classes. The coffee's are perfect, not too sweet, but always rich and creamy. The pastries and the bread, incredible! Have never had a bad one. The showstopper....I had their Keylime pie and it was one of the best desserts I've ever had! It's a special they have for holidays, and the 4 in pie is $18....which is steep, but it is worth every cent. I highly recommend.

Great place!! I love their bread and pastries. Will always recommend. I love the extended hours of this location compared to Alma location or if items are out of stock there I can just drive here. Tried the sweet scone today. And a twice baked croissant to take home... (my favorite)

This location is right on the main street of Harbor blvd so you got to find parking on the street I didnt order food so this is solely based on the drink i ordered which is their iced Midsommar latte ($8.50) A little pricey compared to other coffee shops but its because they use quality ingredients and coffee beans that you can taste. It was balanced with just enough sweetness and from the cold foam which i liked didnt really care for the garnish that was sprinkled at the top which i believe was fennel and something else it just left a robust after taste onve you get to the bottom of the drink. Overall a really good quality of coffee

Whenever people ask me what's in San Pedro, I always say there's nothing exciting. Well, Colossus is one of the exceptions. We don't have very many great places to brag about here, but this place is one of them! The first one was on Alma and 24th st and they close pretty early. There's another location and Long Beach, but they close around 5 or 5. This place is open til 8! I've been to this location a few times and although it's small, it's bright and inviting. I can't remember all the things I've had but the recent ones was a the lavender honey latte. That was pretty good. I usually get a milk alternative like oat milk. The OG cookie is one of my favorites you should definitely try it. 5 stars The financier is pretty good too! 5 stars Also the vegan double chocolate cookie is like 5 stars. I can't remember the other items I've had but try them! I'm definitely coming back!

What a great spot on Harbor accross from the fisherman's Wharf area in San Pedro. The staff were welcoming, professional and kind. The vibe and ambiance was positive and chill. My wife ordered the Chicken Caesar Sandwich and I had the French omelet. My wife had hot water and I had a café americano. Lux was our server and was professional, kind and efficient. Highly recommended.

My husband has had this place bookmarked for a couple of months, and we were excited to give it a try. We were in the area for an errand and stopped by before we headed home. Our experience was underwhelming with a hint of strangeness. We ordered one of each of the following items: a pecan sticky bun, a cinnamon sugar knot, a traditional croissant, a kouigan amann, and a pan con tomato, with two drip coffees. The cost was at least $48 without tip. We smelled the fresh garlic from the pan con tomato, yet it was still bland. The caramel on the sticky bun was tough. The sugar knot and croissant were just OK. The kouigan amann was the best of all the food items if I had to choose. Lastly, the coffee was OK. Theres both indoor and outdoor dining areas. It was a cold morning so we opted for inside. Now for the strange part. We reached the counter and started placing our order. The person was entering them into the POS system. In the middle of my husband ordering, the person taking our order starts conversing with the two baristas behind him, as if my husband wasn't in the middle of ordering. It was strange and rude. After placing our order, he grabs a box and asks us again which pastries we ordered. It could be an off day. I don't know, it wasn't a pleasant experience. We'll pass on this location, but might try the OG location on Alma St. and maybe have a better experience.

Took a Sunday stroll down to Colossus's harbor location. It was a beautiful day and there was lots of people sitting outside and they're open area, enjoying their coffee and breakfast. Walked in and was immediately greeted. I asked for a recommendation from the barista and she gave me two options and I settled on the Midsomer latte. When I picked up my latte, the barista waited for me to try it because she felt that it maybe too sweet, but I tested it and it was perfect. Not too sweet at all. I appreciated her waiting to see if I liked my latte when she was unsure of it. That's really great customer service. Inside had a good group of people sitting there eating their breakfast talking. It's actually a very great location because it's on a corner so you have windows so you can see out to the harbor to the street that day was the day of the downtown Christmas parade, so there was a lot going on. I would have given this place five stars, but I was a little upset because I had waited for the restroom and when I finally went in, there was no toilet paper. Which happens. The thing that bothered me was that it was an employee who walked out of the restroom and didn't say "hey hold on, There's no toilet paper. Let me get some before you go in." I did let the staff know before I left and that's when I saw the employee behind the counter. Will definitely be back to try some of their pastries and breakfast

The coffee and bread are undeniably good. Not sure if it's because I arrived later in the afternoon, but I do wish they would offer to warm the pastries up. Still delicious. They can crank a latte out pretty fast (probably because they get so many orders), but for some reason my plain black tea took a while to come out.. Overall, it was a positive experience & I would return.

Stopped in for lunch and ordered the Chicken Caesar sandwich, which comes on their delicious bread, toasted well. The chicken was a lemon pepper recipe with Dijon mustard and olive oil and topped with iceberg lettuce. Not that it wasn't delicious, because it was, but it was just the small sandwich without any sides for $16 ($20 w/ tax and a $2 tip). That is about $6-7 dollars more than I would expect to pay for an item of this type without a drink or sides to accompany it. Even a handful of potato chips would have made it seem more valuable. I know this is probably a high-rent, preferred location, but this would definitely price me out eventually. Loved the ambiance. The fresh flowers on each table were a nice touch, soft indietronic music playing in the background. All that was great. I just think I am in a different tax bracket for those who could afford things at this location on the regular. I did enjoy the chicken recipe, the sauce and my sandwich. Just wish there was a little more of it or more to it for the price.

This location is the bougie version of the Colossus collection and more cafe than actual bakery. I highly suspect they don't even make the pastries at this location, but get it from the other ones. This one is located on Harbor Blvd very close to the USS Iowa in San Pedro. I got the French Omelette plate. Was it worth it? Eh, it's good for a small breakfast so if you're a hearty eater, this would be too small. If you're a light eater, this is the place for you. Pricey, but ok Summary: if you come here expecting to be assaulted by the smell of baked goods, you won't get it here. Go to the other locations for that. Pizza dough isn't even available here, you have to go to another location for that. All in all, just ok.

Colossus is one of those bougie cafes that has pricey pastries, but honestly, they're worth it due to the quality and taste. Each bread in the display case is between $5-$8, and there are impressive-looking features, interesting combos, and healthy options. I had fun chomping on a decent amount of the baked goods; most were delicious. My favorites were the Strawberry Scone with Passionfruit Glaze, Cacao and Sea Salt Brownie, and the OG Cookie. The scone surprised me the most - it was dense yet not dry, with a fruity sweetness that wasn't overwhelming. The brownie was fudgy and perfectly salted. I would like to try some savory items next time, and hopefully a Strawberry Cookie with Matcha Glaze since the OG Cookie was very satisfying. The Dark Chocolate Cream Pie ($18 for the regular/small size) was good, but I wouldn't get it again. The dark chocolate cream filling had a rich, ganache-like flavor. The crust was crumbly, as expected, but mostly stayed intact. I didn't love that there was a reminiscent taste of cheesecake since it made the chocolate cream pie too tangy for me. Staff were chill and ready to help answer questions. Inside was clean, modern, and airy, with huge window walls that let you peer into the harbor. We parked on S Palos Verdes St (free street parking), which was a very short walk to Colossus.

My friends keep going to Colossus for their pastries, and this time I tagged along and tried the coffee. The cafe has a bright, trendy feel to it, and there's a few tables inside to sit down and enjoy your food. Ordering at the counter is quick and easy, but it's best to come early in the morning before the line gets long. The staff greeted us warmly and kindly answered all the questions we had about the delectable pastries in the display case. I got an iced americano, and it's good but not my favorite. I'd say it's in my top 5 though. Next time, I definitely want to try some of their pastries or pizza!

I was in town visiting my dad from Portland OR. I've been looking for a cozy spot with good coffee for a few years now every time I came to visit. This place is definitely my go to spot now! Went in during the afternoon to get pastries after my walk. The pastries tasted great so I have no complaints there. The service, however, was pretty bad compared to what my friend has primed me to expect. The guy working the cashier seemed so disconnected, I felt like I was being rushed to pick what I want and leave. Did not even offer to warm up the pastries that I bought. I genuinely wanted to stay and eat my pastries since the views were great from the restaurant but the lingering experience from the cashier just made me want to go home. read more

I used to live near their first location on Alma, which is amazing, it just has limited hours and menu. I had always hoped that they would expand to a bigger location nearby (2nd location expanded to LB)... And now, my dreams have come true! San Pedro needed this. It has everything! I stopped here for an early dinner, and was very pleased with the meatballs. There are just three, but they are delicious, and with the sauce and cheese and fennel it ended up being a very satisfying dish. Espresso was really good as well. This new space is ultra modern and minimalistic, but they play lovely music, somewhere between jazz and classical instrumentals. I'm eager to come back for more coffee and a pastry. I was helped by a very friendly, nicely dressed young man. But i noticed that several of the female staff were somewhat careless in their dress and presence. Just an observation. read more

Colossus Bakery's new spot in San Pedro is a cute retreat WITH seating, so you can sit and enjoy their amazing food and drink cafe-style (was so sad they were forced to lose the tables at their Alma St and Long Beach locations). Their pizza has an amazing a sourdough crust. The coffee drinks and chai latte exceed the expectations of this coffee snob. And the pastries and bread are definitely among the best in the Southbay - and LA at large. I used to love their pizza but in a recent takeout the pizza was undercooked and completely soggy and not edible. Every piece we picked up just fell apart. Since they don't have a phone number, I couldn't call them and it was close to closing so I just threw it away and lost money. read more

I've done takeout pizza via their website ordering three times now and it's always been a very smooth experience and the pizzas have been so good bec the sourdough crust is so plush and the toppings super high quality. I usually get the sausage one or the pepperoni and add sausage and hot honey and a side of their ranch. Nice young lady at the counter and easy parking. read more

I've been going to the original one on Alma St for a while but wanted to try the new location because they have a much more diverse menu, including pizza and breakfast sandwiches. I tried their breakfast croissant sandwich and my mind was blown! The croissant is super soft and flakey...the egg was as fluffy as a cloud...the mushrooms I added were out of this world! Not to mention, they have the best honey lavender iced lattes! Great paired! My husband and I have plans to try their artisan pizzas tonight and I'm sure we won't be disappointed! Colossus is one of the best bakeries in town by far, besides hometown gem, Joseph's Bakery. read more

Really enjoyed the food and service at this new Colossus location in downtown San Pedro. We tried their pizza with chili and honey - delicious! Love the small gift shop with unique locally made items, too. Nice outdoor and indoor dining, I'll return again when I'm down that way. read more

Soft scramble toast on country was delicious!! The crème fraîche and chives made the eggs creamy, light and fluffy. I'll never eat my eggs any other way again. And dont skip on the buttery and flakey croissants. They were perfectly baked to perfection. I can't wait to try their other delicious pastries! The bakery is tucked away in the corner of a building. Was really looking forward to catching up with a dear friend at Colossus's new location on Harbor Blvd in San Pedro. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing. The outdoor tables were covered with dirty dishes and trash on the ground, and despite waiting over 30 minutes, no one came to clean up. Service inside wasn't much better. It may have just been an off day, so I'll give it another try in the future -- hoping for a better experience next time. read more

This was was just as amazing as the other Collosus bakeries we have been to in Long Beach and San Pedro except now they have dinner! First of all the location is awesome because it is right next to all the navy museum and the new walkway just across the street. Inside the restaurant it was filled with fresh baked bread, great pastries, and our breakfast oh my gosh amazing. I am bring my parent back here to try the breakfast sandwhich and potatoes hahaha. I just love it and I am happy San Pedro could attract such an amazing restaurant to the waterfront. I hope more restaurants will come and join them. Ambiance and service were on point and amazing as well. Overall well done! read more

So excited to welcome the expanded Colossus into DTSP! I was there day one at the Alma St location, have followed them to Belmont Shores, and am so excited to see them expand their offerings here in SP! We came to try the pizza (2 adults 1 kid) and ordered 2 pizzas. They are much larger than I expected, so excellent value for the price. My only suggestion is maybe a little less crust? Parts of our pizzas were almost 1/3 crust, which is a lot with the sourdough style. Very bready. But flavor was awesome! Some kinks with the wood fired oven and even cooking, but I guarantee that will be sorted out. Haven't tried it at this location, but at BS, their BLT is one you will dream of. Even off season, they manage to make the tomatoes the star, and it's divine. Please try it!!! read more

I love the coffee and bakery part of the business. Pastries are excellent. The part that falls flat for me is the pizza. I had the pepperoni pizza and the crust was amazing, albeit a little under cooked. Still a little doughy in some spots (I get it, place just opened and they are still dialing it in). The one thing that truly misses the mark is the cheese, it's very rubbery. I think this is likely due to either its moisture or fat content. I think using a whole milk cheese or higher quality one would give it that gooey consistency. Either way this is something that can be easily fixed with a little testing. Otherwise this would be the best pizza in San Pedro. It's soo close to being excellent. I hope they see this as some constructive criticism. Wishing you all the best. read more

I was really excited to try the Carmel pumpkin latte. I got it to go...should have tried it before I left. It literally tasted like pizza. It was awful! I'm not sure if they mixed up the seasonings they put on top but it was overwhelming with fennel. I was expecting a delicious Carmel pumpkin but instead got a lukewarm pizza coffee. read more

So thrilled that a place like this has opened up in the area! The other location in San Pedro is more of a storefront, and I was not impressed with service or quality there. But this location couldn't be more different. Lovely ambiance, great service, and reasonable price points. Excited to try their wine selection when that becomes available as well! read more

I've gone to the Alma location for years and their baked goods are top notch. I took my mom to the new location for lunch on a Saturday. We had the smoked salmon tartine and the avocado toast and both were amazing, my compliments to the chef! Service is super friendly. One tip -- if you're coming for lunch on Saturday it is pretty full at 12:15 as one would expect, but by 12:45 it was much less full and easier to get a table, so maybe come a little later. If I had to nitpick - I'd note that the cups here are a tad undersized - so the large tea bags take up a substantial portion of the cup (which in turn, throws off the balance/composition of the tea, etc.). If you call to place an order after 8 PM (which I do from time to time), they'll very rarely answer the phone. This, of course, gets in the way of being able to pop in and out for a quick pre-ordered drink. The folks at Hojas should do a better job of staying on top of phone calls - that's Customer Service 101! A little fine-tuning would go a long way here - fixing the cup size issue + upping the consistency with phones would be a big plus. :) PRO TIP: Parking on 6th Street can be a little unforgiving - so try to be courteous with not hogging the spaces in front for too long (there aren't many!)

Colossus Coffee is an absolute gem in San Pedro! Their OG chocolate chip cookie is a must-try -- rich, perfectly chewy, and seriously addictive. Pair it with one of their coffees, and you've got the perfect treat. The location is unbeatable, right across from the harbor, with a relaxed, modern vibe that makes it the perfect place to work, catch up with friends, or just take in the view.
