Match green tea with coconut water
    Dexter F.

A great little spot in San Pedro that is close to the WorldPort Cruise center and the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles WorldPort Hotel. Made to order tea and coffee. I ordered a green tea match with coconut water. It was refreshing and it will get me through the rest of the day. Also ordered up a ham and cheese croissant with mayo and I think I should have skipped the mayo. The service is prompt and friendly.

This is me talking to the manager AFTER, I was disrespected by VERONICA.

I recently visited this coffee shop and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience due to the way I was treated by an employee named Veronica. My order was entered incorrectly -- I requested a hot tea, but it was made iced. Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that. When I politely tried to clarify that I had asked for it hot, Veronica responded with a tremendous amount of attitude. Instead of simply correcting the mistake, she approached the situation defensively, as if I were trying to get something for free or create an issue. To be clear, I was not complaining about the product or trying to scam anyone. It was a simple correction. The tea was made iced, and I had requested it hot. That's it. In customer service, tone and professionalism matter just as much as accuracy. Customers should feel comfortable speaking up when an order is incorrect without being met with hostility.

Update since my first review.... We woke up with a palate... palette? pallet? Uh ah yes palate... for a little tea or at least one of us woke up with the feeling for the calming and soothing, soul warming blanket in a cup of tea. So... we were on the hunt for some good tea and we most definitely found it at Hojas Tea House. Since our first discovery of Hojas, we have returned on a few frequent occasions during the week. You might say we were tea vibin. My go to for hot drinks is usually coffee, so for my first visit selection, I shifted to a dirty chai to participate in our cozy tea endeavor. Heads up... There is a little bit of an assumption by some for the staff that the general public is familiar with the two chai options they offer which are "House Chai" and "Masala Chai". I don't have a degree in chai so I was apparently confused but the all knowing chai master behind the counter was gracious and patient enough to only roll their eyes and explain the difference. My conclusion is the house chai is a derivative of its origin but we'll leave this for an entertaining conversation at the tea house on another day. In all fairness, I think that maybe walking in with my diner coffee perspective and asking if they could make a dirty chai was maybe a little presumptuous of me... maybe. I could have looked at the vast tea offerings on menu. The Chai tea is the first on the list so, I'll take the L. Observation... On a couple occasions we ordered the Ginger "Vanilla" Cream tea. On the first attempt to order this drink, we were told "we ran out of vanilla, would you like coconut instead?" We placed our second order a few days later online, so it was a little odd that we were able to order the Ginger Vanilla Cream but when we got their we received the "we ran out of vanilla... blah blah coconut blah" line again. I will say that the Ginger "Coconut" Cream drink is still a pretty good alternative. Maybe next time if/when we attempt to try the Ginger "Vanilla" Cream, I'll head over to the local market and pickup some vanilla just in case so we know what its all about considering its in print on their menu. It's starting to feel like when you can't have something and now you want it more even. Gotta check myself. None the less, Hojas does have great products as we've tried several of their tea offerings "hot or cold" all of which have been 100% winners. Tea products... Superb - House "dirty" Chai latte - Energize me Oolong Tea - Cafe Con Leche - Ginger Vanilla or I should say Coconut Cream Tea - and a few other herbal teas... so far In store experience... relaxing and comfortable, modern but rustic Service... Meh (Some super nice, some maybe not so much) Hey we all have rough days. I get it. Inventory Management... Meh... VANILLAAAAA I'm sure we'll see you soon Hojas as we enter this new year! Thank you

$13 for 3 slices of turkey on my sandwich, and the staff is always cold and dismissive. Sprouts up the street got $6 sandwiches and they aren't skimpy with the meat

My colleagues and I come to Hojas for delicious lattes or teas. We also love their pastries and salads! Try their Peaceful Lavender or their Miel con Crema! It's delish. Staff are friendly and the shop is clean. Come on down!

I give Hojas 3 stars because I really really want to like it! It used to be a coffee/tea shop I would go to often, but the last few times I've had it was a little disappointing /: I feel the quality of their menu items aren't the same & the customer service is always lacking... today I got their cafe con leche coffee and for a pretty expensive small cup of coffee it was drinkable but pretty meh. The cup wasn't even all the way full of coffee (small 12oz cup) and most of it was just foam, I was unfortunately wishing I had gotten my coffee somewhere else when drinking it :( & on their menu they have a note posted that their prices may not be accurate which kinda gave me a weird vibe since I didn't know how much I was gonna be spending on my order. On the brighter side I do think they have lots of potential to be better & it's a nice space to do work or hang out for a while!

Hojas continues to fail its customers with overall bad service and responses. I get they're not Starbucks but to tell a customer you ordered it like that and if you want another one made you have to pay for it. Not only have they made errors in sandwich preparation (missing the meat) but also made poorly tasting Teas and refuse to remake it. In my opinion this is not a good look for the company. I guess I'll keep going to Starbucks. I live in walking distance Hojas.

We came here to try out a new breakfast spot and was highly disappointed! I guess I should have known that the coffee was not going to be good because the name says "tea house" lol but, my boyfriend ordered a vanilla coffee which tasted like water. Then when he brought it to their attention, they charged him extra to make it taste like coffee...unacceptable! I wasn't going to leave a review but when I voiced my concern, they were dismissive and told me that they are going by policy. What policy, to charge a crazy price for watered down coffee? AND THEN... I asked for water (not knowing there was complimentary water) and she charged me for a cup of water. I WILL NEVER BE BACK! Poor service and mediocre food/drinks! Do better!!

Masala Chai 9/10 - light coconut taste - On the sweeter side so does not taste much like tea - Use soy creamer - Would get again Turkey Verde on Sour Dough 8/10 - bread is toasted which is a plus - Home made pesto has a rich taste very good - Just wish it had more turkey - Would get again Came to Hojas for breakfast and was not disappointed. It is not full of people which was great when in a rush. Their masala chai has a unique coconut taste that I haven't had before. I enjoy that it is on the sweeter side and doesn't have too much of a tea taste. The sandwich was delicious and full of flavor. All the ingredients complement each other well. The workers here are very kind and sweet. They are willing to explain items to you. I did not have to wait a long time for my order to come out. The ambience in the coffee shop is very cozy and has a modern feel to it. I love that they are a Christian company and had a Bible verse on my receipt. Made my day:)

Chefs special bagel! Good item for brunch quick bite to eat for breakfast. I have tried many different items on the menu here, including their drinks. cafe con leche, lattes, ruby rose iced tea, and my favorite masala chai iced. Its a cute little Christian owned coffee shop, I will say the prices are a little high but there quality in drinks and snacks here makes up for it. A gem worth checking out if you're around.

Loyal Hojas fan here I always love going to Hojas, but I've noticed that the last 2 times I've came here, my drink is looking this when I ask with light ice. I asked the girl to please fill it to the top and she responded that she went off the measurements in accordance to light ice. In my opinion, it should be filled to the top regardless if it's with little ice or lots of ice, considering that this is an almost $8 drink.

Tried the San Pedro location. The space is ok but not the most comfortable if you wanted to work there all day. The lunch sandwiches were good, but the drinks were meh. 2.5 stars, really..

Reservarions can be made on the Royal website or app. and prices usually are better before sailing. This review is for the Ovation of the Seas. It's located on the 5th floor right next to the Japanese restaurant. It's much smaller than the one on Harmony,'which is also 2 stories. Several of the menu items remained the same in the past 10 years. Each table seemed to have a dedicated server. Ours (Michael) was great. The menu is in a picture frame and is blank, until you brush it with water. The items are then revealed. They're separated into different categories: Sun, Fire, Ice, Earth and Sea. Personally, I felt like some items are in the wrong category. The appetizers are much better than the entrees. They're more fun, interesting and better presented. (See my photos) Some of the dishes resemble tasting menus of swanky restaurants. Some are a plated bit more traditionally. Overall, the flavors are good, with some standout dishes to something I wouldn't touch again (halibut, pork are meh) The desserts are on a separate menu resembling like the Queen of Hearts. There are 4 choices. The three we got are all more fun to eat. The 4th option is gelato, which is boring. I'd say try them all if possible, you might be surprised. Scroll through my photos to see what the dishes look like. I have plans to sail on Ovation's sister ship in a few month, and will reserve another table at their Wonderland. Note: Wonderland will be taken out of the Ovation to make room for a new venue. Based on many cruisers' feedback, you're either adventurous and really like it, or traditional and dislike it.
