I tried the ham torta and changed the meat to turkey. They didn't even budge! The service was really great, and they even had great recommendations. We visited Chachi's today and as soon as we arrived we were greeted by the lovely staff! It was our first time and we decided to go with the tuna melt and ham torta! Both sandwiches are ones you can make at home BUT nothing like buying a really good sandwich (also wouldn't be nearly as good if u made it at home in comparison lol) It is also reasonably priced for the big portion size! I was unable to finish mine lol. 5/5 would come again! I'm looking forward to trying the pastrami sandwich next time! We also got a pup cup that our puppy greatly enjoyed (licked clean literally). In San Pedro, at the corner of 28th Street & Pacific Ave, sits a building housing a convenience store and laundromat. Chachi's sublets space inside the bodega. I have to admit: first impressions did not cause me to expect much. The food prep area is reminiscent of a pop-up. And the menu lineup is limited: turkey; torpedo; ham torta; veggie; pastrami; tuna melt; and grilled cheese. I ordered the torpedo, expecting a cold sandwich. To my surprise, they put the sandwich in a panini press to warm the bread. And when I tasted the combination of ingredients, and their proprietary spread, it turned out to be a really tasty sandwich. The signage says that they've been in business since 2024; and they're preparing to open their first standalone sandwich shop. (If you're a local, it will be in the same shopping center as the Vons grocery @ S Western Ave x W 25th St.) When this happens, I can see myself being a regular. read more

Cute little sandwich counter tucked inside beach city market, a neighborhood liquor store. The idea of this was brilliant and I'm so happy to see the business thriving. I've been by many times but have not decided to buy until today. I love the convenience of it. Want a quick order just pick an item out of their fridge in front and scan the QR code to pay. Or order a fresh sandwich and it's handed to you down a sandwich slide lol! There are these cute red chairs set outside to eat in-front of the store and the sandwich shop is right to your left when entering the market. When walking up to the counter I was greeting kindly. I did not have much to say as I already made up my mind on what I wanted to order. The menu here is not complex but all of the sandwiches looked good so hard to choose from. It was a torpedo or ham torta, I went with a torpedo! Which is usually what I like to order from other sandwich shops around town. It seems that many of the sandwiches around town are your typical deli style sandwiches, in a dominant italian cuisine town the torpedo is quite common... and they're all competing against each other. The thing I really liked about Chachi's is the bread. Oh the bread! In my opinion it's all about the bread. This makes the entire sandwich. Instead of your typical roll which can either be fresh and soft, or hard and crunchy, warm or cold, the bread they use here is like their little twist. Ciabatta for the win. I appreciate uniqueness. I love the idea of this place, the customer service and mostly the food. Perfect for picnics, on your way to the coast, or party packs. I wish them well and happy to see they will be expanding to western and 25th. Definitely recommend and will be back to explore more of the menu. read more

Chachi's is surprisingly good. They're a little gourmet. Their sandwiches are HUGE and barely fit in your hands. The sandwich shop here shares a space with a liquor store. So one wouldn't expect it to be located here. Seating is non-existent, so be prepared to take your sandwich to go. I had the Turkey sandwich here and it was totally DELICIOUS. I like it better than Busy Bee Market in San Pedro. Chachi's sandwiches are more artisanal and well-made. Their prices are a little on the expensive side--but, the trade off is that you get BIGGER sandwiches. Opening hours are a little elusive. I have a hard time going when they're open! read more

Been here for a few times now and I've tried different sandwiches. I really like the pastrami, turkey, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The tuna melt could be better. In my opinion, a great tuna melt needs crisp, toasted bread, perfectly melted cheese, and the tuna salad portion at a temperature such that when you bite into it the contrast of the cold tuna salad and the hot cheese isn't too significant. In addition, the tuna salad shouldn't have a lot of liquid or else it'll make the sandwich soggy, which Chachi's version was. In any case, I like their other sandwiches enough to keep coming. Chachis has yummy deli sandwiches. It's located inside a small corner store. The servers were friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in. I had the turkey which had a special spread with cranberries & walnuts. My husband had the Torpedo which he also enjoyed. The sandwiches are heated, so the cheese melts and outside bread is crunchy, inside is still soft. Sandwiches are good size, so I saved half for lunch the next day. While they were prepping our sandwich, we checked out the store for chips and drinks. The store had a really good selection. There are a couple of tables out front. Chachi's is such a vibe! My coworker found it as we were looking to grab some lunch. Chachi's is located inside a market store, right at the entrance! The girls were so helpful. Especially the girl at the register. It was our first time so she explained the menu and gave some sandwich recommendations. I got the torta which was huge and delicious! The cashier also mentioned they have cool events sometimes. We added onions to both which I highly suggest. I wish I had great things to say because I found this place through my IG feed and some people swore it was the best thing since sliced bread. First off, the hours of operation are limited. They got better because they only used to be open like 3 days a week but now I think more often. It's located inside a liquor store next to the laundromat. The sandwiches are good. Not horrible but I'm not raving about it's they have a limited menu too. The customer service was friendly so I'm not complaining about that. I just wish it was more memorable. read more

I was looking for a good sandwich spot near the beach and somewhere dog-friendly. I don't like to leave my dog in the car even with the window's down. Yelp to the rescue. I immediately look at photos of the food and location. I have had the best luck finding great eats at restaurants located in markets or grocery stores. Chachi's is inside of a market, so I was hopeful. The menu is simple but has a good ranch of sandwiches available. I can't resist a tuna melt. It's kind of my gauge if it's an option on a sandwich menu. When I entered the market, a young woman greeted me and let me know she would be right with me. I could see she and another person were busy making sandwiches. I feel bad for not getting her name. She asked if it was my first time and how I found Chachi's. Yelp, I told her. Ordering the tuna melt, she let me know it takes a few extra minutes. I assume this is because of the "melt" process. It was convenient to look around the market and go grab chips and a drink while I waited for my sandwich. I loved the toasted bread and how warm it was wrapped in it's paper. I cruised to a local park with a view to enjoy my sandwich, and I was surprised I ate the whole thing. For reference, I typically eat half of a footlong, and I'm good. The other half is usually enjoyed at dinner or lunch the next day. My entire Chachi's tuna melt was gone in one sitting. I can't explain what made it so tasty. It may have been the mixture of flavors with the tuna along with the crisp but soft outside of the bread. The bread was toasted enough to be crispy but remained soft-ish so the whole sandwich stayed together when taking a bite. In my experience, bread toasted too much causes me to have to bite too hard and tear the bread which causes the sandwich to fall apart. This was not the case. It was toasted perfectly. I'll be back. I want to try the Pastrami next time, and I'll be sure to get names. :) Bonus: Sub slide. IYKYK. I notice and enjoy little details. read more

So there's no ambiance to speak of as a restaurant. However, it is located in a market that is interesting to walk around in if you're a Pokémon or Dragon Ball fan. The market allows you to pick up some soda, wine, or Mad Dog if you want to upgrade your sandwich experience. lol Service is great! However, if you have any food sensitivities make sure you let them know as many of their house sandwich spreads have dairy in them. I came to this place twice since I heard so many great things and wanted to love it. The staff is wonderful and so welcoming. Their customer service is genuinely amazing. However, for me personally these sandwiches are not what I had in mind. The flavors at least in my pallet didn't go well together. I got their most popular sandwich first which was not great. Then I came back and got the ham and the tuna sandwich (will run you about $35) and those too were not that great. The ham torta has a dark sauce that I couldn't get by. The tuna has a little too much mayo and chives or something which I feel like they should let people know since there are allergy's and preferences. Overall the staff is great but I think there are better sandwiches especially in Pedro. Wish them all the best though! read more

Planned a picnic to the Korean Friendship Bell today and was in the mood for a solid Italian sandwich. Chachi's is the closest deli that's open on Sundays so we popped in. First, I love that it's located in the Beach City Market. Truly a one-stop shop for picnicking! The staff is so friendly here! Huge shoutout to Dani/Danny who gave us all the hot tips on where to go to optimize our time at the park. We walked out with two hefty sandwiches. Holy crap, they really live up to the "Good Sandwiches Only" tagline. I got the Torpedo and the cheese is to die for. They load it up with meat as well. My husband got the Turkey, which has a unique cranberry-walnut spread. Very pleased with our choice today, I was in heaven. Super lucky to have Chachi's as a local spot. We'll be back! read more

Currently the BEST sandwich in town, imho. The meat (or cheese!) ratio to the bead is perfect. I left the second half on the counter at home, and after a few hours? STILL THE BEST TEXTURE. Not a dry bite. Also, the pastrami is REAL. Not that stringy, fatty stuff that irks me. Torpedo? Same. Really good deli meats. And they have Shirazi salad as a side. Reese and Chachi are both wonderful people, as well as their staff, who are going to franchise, which I believe will be a great business for someone based on the response Chachi has received so far.
