This place is traditional, but, in a way that is uncommon. For example, they serve the traditional goods of a bakery, cupcakes, cookies, and cakes. But they also serve pizza that is ready in the morning, I think they call it something different than Pizza, mayve tomato pie, here, I mean anything that makes it a breakfast treat. They also have Devil Dogs, that are basically Twinkies but instead of being mass produced they are made by a baker, and instead of being white, they are chocolate covered. However both Twinkie and Devil Dog are both cream filled. What this place offers is more than just the traditional, it offers the traditional with a twist that feels new yet familiar. Ok bare with me. Imagine a girl who knows her way around a closet full of clothes and uses scissors like Beethoven uses keys. She has this dress, and she uses it a lot. But when the dress gets known, too known, I mean, she snips and cuts in a such way that the familiar becomes new but not so new where you forget the source material but all around the twirls of the new dress feels fresh. That is basically the baked good selection of this place. You can get definitely get a biscotti and a chocolate chip cookie but you can also get thumbprint cookies, and muffins, and danishes that have two flavors and look like an eight (I did not take their pictures) and so much more. I never had anything that I did not like. My boss raves about the jelly donuts. When you order, they give you the goods in a box, which I believe always communicates more pleasure and elegance than when goods are given in a bag or donut box. The box is white. Again, all of this means that if you take these goods to work, or a party you will subtly say I went to a bakery that is not inside a store, and I did not go to get something basic, I took the time and spend the money to get something at a bakery. And you wont spend too much money here. And you get good value too! The person that almost helps me is named Minerva. One time, I explained to her, in Spanish, that her name is the Goddess of Wisdom in Roman Mythology. Another time I went, I tried to explain to her the same thing, but she reminded me, with accurate information, that I had already done that. I mean, this place allowed me to give someone a story to their name. I wonder how she will pass this story along, like will it ever be a handy talking point or just a story that makes her feel grand for a moment? Like I am the queen of the wise, I can handle this puzzle. She also told me that her husband is the baker. It is sweet to know that I can access a small town bakery in a small city. I mean this place is all good, I would find it hard to complain about them. Minerva even lets me in a little bit early before they open. It is a drag because not everything is ready, but they have enough, for me to be happy. And of course I understand that they can have the whole selection ready just for me. I like their biscotti. For being a long time bakery, I feel like some of the goods are poor quality. The brownies tasted like something you could make at home and the frosting was cheap. The girl that helped me was not friendly and I had to ask her which each item is because I wasn't sure and she seemed annoyed. I had to bring these baked goods to a potluck so I was disappointed they weren't as good as I expected them to be and embarrassed, although one guy said the cookies were good. read more

The woman behind the counter told me what each cake flavoring was and even asked if I would like writing on the cake. I declined the writing because I thought the cake was really cute the way it was! This is a classic San Pedro bakery with yummy treats. The smell is heavenly there are certain businesses in San Pedro that have been here for so long if you're a local and grew up here, you probably went here as a kid. It reminds me of the bakery. I used to go to in the city of Orange, where I grew up. I love the smell, takes me right back. Lupe was beyond amazing!!! We are selecting our cake and she was able to recommend great flavors, we fell in love with all their flavors to the point we had to really debate for our three tier cake! Lupe's service to brides is a MUST she's super helpful very attentive, excellent communication, great personality and even provided me with a cup of coffee as we sat outside the local business to taste all the flavors!!! This bakery is absolutely not what I expected. I ordered a small 7inch round cake from Polly Ann for my wedding for just me and my husband to cut. I have never seen a cake messed up so badly. I never got a chance to send them a photo of what I wanted since I ordered it over the phone, but based on the gorgeous cakes I've seen online I did not think it would be an issue. I specifically asked for "a 7 inch round cake with green frosting to be like paint smeared on the sides of the cake with real flowers and our date." I truly can not believe how awful this turned out. Considering the cakes I have seen from them are gorgeous. I'd maybe think about going somewhere else... I'm really disappointed because I was recommended here by my friend who had a cake done here and it was beautiful. Polly Ann Bakery made the cake for my recent wedding and it turned out amazing. We did a tasting about a month prior and got to try several types of cake, mixed and matched with the fillings of our choice. (side note: we also got to take home several mini cakes - score!). Everything tasted so good! We ultimately selected two layers of white cake with a layer of chocolate mousse and another layer of strawberry mousse, then a third layer of chocolate cake with a red raspberry filling. Next up was what we wanted the cake to look like. We conveyed our ideas via text and on the big day were thrilled to see how faithfully represented they were. I ordered a three tiered naked cake for my baby shower on January 30th 2021 and it was amazing. I did the classic white wedding cake flavor with the raspberry mousse in between the layers. So perfect. The cake was air light and fluffy not heavy at all, the raspberry mousse was also very light and fluffy not to sweet and the perfect amount of raspberry Delicious!
