Here all the time as it's close to the grandbabies school, so we'll stop in frequently. My favorite cake is the banana raspberry and it's my "birthday wish" every year. Donuts, cookies, creme puffs aplenty in here and all are delicious. Close to home, friend of the family so to speak, (my eldest went to school with the owners daughter) and always reasonable when it comes to price. Love it! read more

This place is traditional, but, in a way that is uncommon. For example, they serve the traditional goods of a bakery, cupcakes, cookies, and cakes. But they also serve pizza that is ready in the morning, I think they call it something different than Pizza, mayve tomato pie, here, I mean anything that makes it a breakfast treat. They also have Devil Dogs, that are basically Twinkies but instead of being mass produced they are made by a baker, and instead of being white, they are chocolate covered. However both Twinkie and Devil Dog are both cream filled. What this place offers is more than just the traditional, it offers the traditional with a twist that feels new yet familiar. Ok bare with me. Imagine a girl who knows her way around a closet full of clothes and uses scissors like Beethoven uses keys. She has this dress, and she uses it a lot. But when the dress gets known, too known, I mean, she snips and cuts in a such way that the familiar becomes new but not so new where you forget the source material but all around the twirls of the new dress feels fresh. That is basically the baked good selection of this place. You can get definitely get a biscotti and a chocolate chip cookie but you can also get thumbprint cookies, and muffins, and danishes that have two flavors and look like an eight (I did not take their pictures) and so much more. I never had anything that I did not like. My boss raves about the jelly donuts. When you order, they give you the goods in a box, which I believe always communicates more pleasure and elegance than when goods are given in a bag or donut box. The box is white. Again, all of this means that if you take these goods to work, or a party you will subtly say I went to a bakery that is not inside a store, and I did not go to get something basic, I took the time and spend the money to get something at a bakery. And you wont spend too much money here. And you get good value too! The person that almost helps me is named Minerva. One time, I explained to her, in Spanish, that her name is the Goddess of Wisdom in Roman Mythology. Another time I went, I tried to explain to her the same thing, but she reminded me, with accurate information, that I had already done that. I mean, this place allowed me to give someone a story to their name. I wonder how she will pass this story along, like will it ever be a handy talking point or just a story that makes her feel grand for a moment? Like I am the queen of the wise, I can handle this puzzle. She also told me that her husband is the baker. It is sweet to know that I can access a small town bakery in a small city. I mean this place is all good, I would find it hard to complain about them. Minerva even lets me in a little bit early before they open. It is a drag because not everything is ready, but they have enough, for me to be happy. And of course I understand that they can have the whole selection ready just for me. I like their biscotti. Dunk them in coffee and you will be set. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because I like the cookies. However, their customer service lately has seriously been lacking. I called 11/24 to place my Thanksgiving order for pickup today, 11/26 and they claimed they never received my order and they sold out of the rolls I ordered. I will not be ordering from here again, it's truly disappointing because I love to support small businesses. read more

For being a long time bakery, I feel like some of the goods are poor quality. The brownies tasted like something you could make at home and the frosting was cheap. The girl that helped me was not friendly and I had to ask her which each item is because I wasn't sure and she seemed annoyed. I had to bring these baked goods to a potluck so I was disappointed they weren't as good as I expected them to be and embarrassed, although one guy said the cookies were good. read more

Happy to support a local business! Came in Thursday afternoon to pick out a cake from the display case. The woman behind the counter told me what each cake flavoring was and even asked if I would like writing on the cake. I declined the writing because I thought the cake was really cute the way it was! Lupe was beyond amazing!!! We are selecting our cake and she was able to recommend great flavors, we fell in love with all their flavors to the point we had to really debate for our three tier cake! Lupe's service to brides is a MUST she's super helpful very attentive, excellent communication, great personality and even provided me with a cup of coffee as we sat outside the local business to taste all the flavors!!! I am beyond impressed with the taste of the their filling options for mousse's. Highly recommend their chocolate cake with the chocolate mousse! It was our top favorite. I'm addition to that she let us take the cake tasting sample that she had created. Thank you Lupe for all your help!!! This is a classic San Pedro bakery with yummy treats. The smell is heavenly there are certain businesses in San Pedro that have been here for so long if you're a local and grew up here, you probably went here as a kid. It reminds me of the bakery. I used to go to in the city of Orange, where I grew up. I love the smell, takes me right back. The only difference is the pastries are even better than the ones I remember as a kid:-) this San Pedro staple should be on your list if you're checking out places to visit eat like a local :-) read more

This bakery has not let me down and have always made my cakes beautiful and delicious! All 4 cakes I have ordered I walked in with a picture and they have been decorated just as I requested. This bakery is absolutely not what I expected. I ordered a small 7inch round cake from Polly Ann for my wedding for just me and my husband to cut. I have never seen a cake messed up so badly. I never got a chance to send them a photo of what I wanted since I ordered it over the phone, but based on the gorgeous cakes I've seen online I did not think it would be an issue. I specifically asked for "a 7 inch round cake with green frosting to be like paint smeared on the sides of the cake with real flowers and our date." I truly can not believe how awful this turned out. Considering the cakes I have seen from them are gorgeous. I'd maybe think about going somewhere else... I'm really disappointed because I was recommended here by my friend who had a cake done here and it was beautiful. I now have to have my florist cover the whole cake with his flowers because this is just so ugly read more

Polly Ann Bakery made the cake for my recent wedding and it turned out amazing. We did a tasting about a month prior and got to try several types of cake, mixed and matched with the fillings of our choice. (side note: we also got to take home several mini cakes - score!). Everything tasted so good! We ultimately selected two layers of white cake with a layer of chocolate mousse and another layer of strawberry mousse, then a third layer of chocolate cake with a red raspberry filling. Next up was what we wanted the cake to look like. We conveyed our ideas via text and on the big day were thrilled to see how faithfully represented they were. From start to finish, working with Minerva at Polly Ann Bakery was a joy and we are over the moon with how everything turned out. read more

You will want to buy a bunch of pastries and take them home. I have found that they do not freeze well, so just eat them. We also love their Parker House rolls. You will too. They even have sandwiches and next time I will try one. San Pedro is fun. If you have never been go.

They offer these ice packs which are genius and a must since these cream puffs will melt and worse, may not taste as great after the drive home. This place is cute and TINY. The ladies who work here are so kind,hard-working and humble about how amazing these puffs are. My favorite is the black sesame one. Of course, there are several other desserts here. Their cheesecake is another favorite of ours. Parking is limited but I've been able to snag a spot. Definitely check this place out.

They had a ton of treats, that were all spooky looking with cobwebs and decorative pieces. My eye immediately went to the macaroons! They were adorable!!!! The variety pack of macaroons, had a ghostface looking macaroon and a white one with blood spatter. Those looked awesome! Another one had a marshmallow with a little face. Great macaroons! The red one was my favorite, with the white (blood spatter) was my second favorite! I wanna say the red one was red velvet maybe? The white one was some fancy sounding flavor, like ganache lol Price point was fair too. Service was great. The guy at the booth was very friendly. Ambiance, it was a booth at the spooky event. Very laidback.

Love this old town bakery!!! Everything is amazing good My favorite is the Custard Raisin Croissant and The Custard Donuts like the fact that every Tuesday and Thursday by 7am most of the pastries and donuts are out and ready to sale before it was 7:30 and not half of what they sale is out I do have something good to say about one person only Lupe !! is an amazing hard working girl I've seen her how hard she work specially in the afternoon we always see her sweeping cleaning cabinets and bringing in heavy tables and plastic chair not like the other girls thats are lazy she always welcomes me and my daughter with a hello and a good morning or good afternoon, shes the reason i keep on going back to this bakery rest of the girls are lazy and always hiding on back of the shop sadly!!! Thank you lupe for your great customer service and always treating us with lots of kindness and respect, and for having everything ready to sale early in the morning before opening time keep up the great work!! read more

5.0 star rating 7/27/2019 July 16th, 1978, I strolled in there, from a back entrance, I think. It was very airy, and open. It was part of the Weymouth plaza mall, I think. It was very dark, and shaded, inside. I had only pennies. I found a chocolate cream cake, very rich, and well made. I had enough, with the pennies I had, in a bag.... only 4.99. I was not charged tax. I didn't know how old my mother was... only that it was her birthday, and she liked cream cake.... with real cream. The lady did not even count the money. I took the cake home, to Walker street, a few blocks away. I walked. I was 14 years old. It was a heat wave, at the time. We had a small breakfast nook, in that house. The cake filled the table, of that quaint little nook. I surprised my mother.... she didn't know how I got the money to get it. She must have turned 40. She died December 15, 2018. She was 80. read more

Just picked up a dozen random pastries for my morning crew... Everything was fantastic! However, when going to pay I spotted some baklava and grabbed a couple pieces, absolute perfection!
