I had a good experience. It definitely wasn't as clean as I would have hoped, but the service was great. At one point she dropped a tool on the floor that she was using on me, and then just rinsed it off in the pedicure bath before using it on my nails again. That left a bad taste in my mouth. But she was super friendly. I went around 11 and had no wait, but I'd recommend making an appointment because within half an hour, there were 6 people waiting. I lucked out on timing! read more

I tried this place because it was the closest nail I had seen to my new apartment, however it was a mistake. It is very messy (nail polish on the walls), very disorganized (there is no sign in sheet and at least 3 different people had to ask me what I wanted) and a low number of polishes to choose from. The woman who ended up doing my nails did a terrible job. She was constantly looking around and not paying attention so she cut my fingers several times. My nails look lumpy because she didn't file them down flat, and she somehow got the old red polish underneath my nails now. Honestly nothing was good about this place. read more

I went here on a Friday evening after reading a few good reviews. Its close to me and I just moved and needed to find a new nail salon for my pedicure updates. I went on a Friday evening (about 645p). When I walked in the door, they were packed! There was a young girl crying and there were even a few girls standing to wait including me. Already im not feeling to good about the place. When nail salons are that busy I don't feel that there going to take there time on the service and throughly clean the equipment. (Sigh) I still stayed. Bad idea. I waited about 10 minutes then when my chair was ready the water wasn't even hot! Then I waited some more in the chair for close to 20 minutes all feeling uneasy. The chair was dirty with nail polish. The atmosphere just didn't feel GOOD! When the lady finally came to do my feet she did warm the water like I asked but she didn't seem to know what she was doing. The way she was holding the tools didn't look right. Then when it came time to put on the temporary flip flops, I didn't even get those. The nail tech wrapped these weird selafame sandals on and secured them with a sticker!! All my years of getting a pedi, ive never had anything like that put on my toots! The nail tech did a ok job and I was pleasantly surprised when she brought out the hot stones but I won't be back. They weren't too friendly but as I left, the manager did say sorry and ask if I wanted a manicure. Heck NO!! I didn't even stay to dry my toes. I didn't want to stay another minute in there! Wont be back. The color selection is EXTREMELY limited. I couldnt decide what color I wanted. I wanted a simple, natural American manicure but they didn't have the off-white color for it. So I tried another color, My Nail Tech painted to nails and I decided that I didn't like it. So I went back up to the nail polish rack to look at more polishes. At this point my nail tech gets on his phone and starts watching pet videos knowing that I'm struggling to find a color. So then I finally choose another color and he makes a comment saying that if I change colors again that he would charge me $3. Excuse me? I could understand if he had already painted all 10 of my nails and I decided that I didn't like the color. But I can change my mind after you have painted two nails if I want to. And I will not be charged. And the crazy thing is, I had already paid and tipped this loser. If he was going to be charging me anything extra, he would have taking it out of his own tip. Because my card was not going to be Re- swiped, I don't care how many times it took me to decide what nail polish I want it. I dont understand why the comment was made in the first place. Not only that, there were so many children in this nail salon. Some of them playing loud games on cell phones. Another little girl fell out of one of the chairs she wasn't supposed to be sitting on in the first place and started screaming and crying. I don't understand why parents bring little children to places that are supposed to be relaxing for adults. I was only coming here because it's close to my house and I was really enjoying the cheap full sets and fills, but this spot is a bit too "hole in the wall-ish" for my taste. read more

i honestly think this place is amazing. most reviews seem to always say that the environment is awful but that's just a bunch of karen's. the store might me a little old and to be fair it has been there for many years to it seems fair that the inside is a little worn out, plus most people go with all their 7 kids they have and it's part of the reason why most of the walls have nail polish on them. over all i think this place is great i always get what i want and end up always in love with my nails. the pictures are my favs sets by far. the prices are honestly very cheap for the quality of the nails. this is my favorite spot to go to and i wouldn't go anywhere else :) read more

It included a hot mask, hot stone massage, and paraffin wax treatment, all for $30, which is the cheapest I've paid in the area. Not your typical uptown Dallas super clean, fancy, rude, and expensive nail spot. The techs are there to do their job not sit and talk about you in Vietnamese. Anyway, my nails were a mess and needed a fill immediately with one broken nail. The guy was nice and friendly he asked me what I liked and didn't like. He did an amazing job at filling them just how I wanted them, sizes properly. I chose a white color but he suggested a different brand because the one I chose was more of a clear top color. I moved from downtown to this area (NW HWY East of 75) for the cheaper rent since I'm going back to school. I used to frequent a nail salon in the Oak Lawn area and a visit there cost me about $70 for solar tips. After my move, I was in the market for a new home nail salon closer to my new place and less expensive. So I got on YELP and searched by zip code. After reading a few disappointing reviews about other places, I found Colorful Nails. It was so close to my work AND home. Other posters had such nice things to say about them so I called to confirm the price for a new full set of white tips ($23) and set an appointment for after work (5:45). As it tends to happen, I got caught up at the office which made me 15 minutes late for my appointment. I called on my way in and let them know I was running behind. When I got there they were gracious and got me right in - even though I was the late one. My nail tech was Mary. She was super sweet, she listened to what I wanted (I like my white tips a bit on the long and square side) and got right to work. Man was she fast and skilled! She did not hurt or nick me even once! No "pay for the pain!!!" It's true that this place is a no frills kind of joint and they clearly pass that savings on to their customers. My nails were done perfectly and quickly, look amazing, and the total (with service and tip) was $35! That's HALF of what I used to pay! I will be using Colorful Nails from here on out! Filthy, polish on the walls and furniture, boxes everywhere, nail clippings (acrylic and possibly real) on floor and tables, they did not get the tools out of an autoclave package (although there was no way to tell if they had actually been sterilized, the peel pack gives the customer a sense of sterility), witnessed an employee digging for the deepest booger known to man with no shame, then he wiped it on his sleeve, another client was made to rest his hands a paper towel roll while they worked. I hadn't done my nails in years just pedicures. Tried gel nails and pedicure. After the first visit was all down hill. The technician filed my toenail down to the quick, I asked her to stop several times before it bleed. It's still healing after months of waiting for my toenail to recover. They put acrylic over the damage and are were rude everytime I went for services. I only continued to go back because they didn't charge me for the acrylic toenail. Tonight the woman who did the actual damage refused to do a pedicure. So basically they will damage your nail but not hang around while it heals. I plan to contact the cosmetology board and report the situation. Nail salons are a dime a dozen, this one isn't worth the dime. read more

My first impression of this place was that it was very dingy. Another reviewer mentioned that it is in need of a deep clean and that is definitely true. Also, while I was there, some guy came in and tried to sell everyone a Bluetooth headset, and the people who work there didn't even ask him to leave, which I thought was odd. Just the overall vibe of the place was that it was kind of run-down and ghetto. As far as the actual mani/pedi I got, they were okay. It was pretty cheap - only $20 for my pedicure and $25 for the Shellac manicure. But things were also weird as far as the service was concerned, too, though, because the lady did not paint my nails the color that I had picked out. I picked out a dark green color, and when I saw that she was painting a navy blue color, I told her that that was not green. She insisted that it was green and kept on painting!! Luckily for them I'm not picky at all so it was not worth the fight, although we did go back and forth several times. When the lady who was going to paint my toenails came over with the color that she had helped me pick out to match my fingernails, she also informed the other lady that she had done the wrong color. And the fingernail lady still would not admit that she had done the wrong color, lol. All in all, I will definitely not be returning here. I noticed that they also don't have a table for waxing, if that's something that concerns you. They just have people sit in the pedicure chairs and lean them back. Other nail locations I called quoted me $25-$30 for a fill. I also wanted the shape of my nails changed and they shaped my nails identically and painted them well. Walking in I should have known better, the place was grimy and in need of a deep clean. I hesitated but decided to stay because my friends were already getting pedis. I sat down in the broke down pedi chair and dipped my feet in lukewarm water, I asked her to heat up the water but that never happened. The tools she used did not look like they had been sanitized at all and the towels used were so stained they look like they were never washed. She clipped my toe with the cuticle clipper then just put my foot in the water. (I sure I got an infection from this, and had to be put on antibiotics) Service and cleanliness are not their strong suits at this nail salon. The prices are dirt cheap here, you definitely pay for what you get. I'll be spending a bit more elsewhere for a cleaner and more pleasant experience. read more

Not a good experience for a manicure and I won't be going back. The tech seemed like she was going to a fire and didn't even put my fingers in anything to soak. She used an electric file you use for doing fills to push back my cuticles. She was rough and I don't know why in the world I tipped her. Bad experience. My first experience at colorful nails was great. I went in and got my nails done and I was very happy with them. My second visit left a lot to be desired. I got my nails done very late on a Monday evening and that's what I attributed to the fact that within a day a nail had broken, so I went back,told the lady the number etc.. , that's not what I got nor did she get the shape correct and on top of that the nail has broken again. I was in search of an inexpensive yet efficient place to get a mani pedi and I found it!!!! They took their time and were extremely detailed and meticulous during my experience here. It may not look super fancy , but they were super clean and the pedicure even included a hot stone massage with an extensive foot scrub and callous removal. The best part was it was only $30+ tip ! Although the service was quick (I'll give them that), there is a lot to be said for the cleanliness. There was a ball of what looked like hair under one of the waiting area seats and the implements were kept in a dirty basket with a stained paper towel at the bottom. I also noticed he did not clean off any of his tools with EPA nor did the woman clean the spa after she finished a pedicure by flushing the spa out with EPA. None of the instruments looked clean, it looked as though it had old cuticle or grim on the files. They also painted my acrylic nails instead of using the buffing powder and buffing them until shiny. I have been coming to this place for over ten years, and it is by far one of the greatest nail salons in Dallas! The owner and his wife work in the store, and ensure that all of their clients are well taken care of. Eyebrow waxing only costs $8 bucks and salon pedicures are 15-18, and include a hot stone massage! This is the best nail shop in town. read more

Decided to try this nail place on the way home from work today. Not the greatest looking place, but staff was very friendly, I was promptly greeted, seated and received great service. I was seated in a spa chair for my feet to soak. Started with a manicure from Tom. (Finally, a place that starts with your hands so by the time your feet are done you can pull your keys out!) He made sure all of my nails were filed evenly and was very thorough. Most places I go make my nails too square or uneven, then the polish runs and gets thicker in the corners causing it to chip quicker. Probably the best filing job anyone has done. Nails came out looking good. Manicure was only $8. Ling started on my pedicure about half way through my manicure. The spa pedicure includes the basics, plus a salt scrub and a hot stone massage. She didn't trim my cuticles as much as people normally do, but went to town on my callouses! (I am generally pretty active on my feet so they build up quickly.) Great attention to detail while polishing. Really took her time and it shows. Cleaned up the edges with some acetone so they looked great when I walked out the door. The place stared to fill up around 5 p.m. but no one had to wait longer that a few minutes for service. They had a lot of clients come in for eyebrow waxing, only $8. The mani didn't last long at all, nails were chipped the next day. We are from out of town and called about an hour before we wanted to go and got an appointment(they arent required). When we got there we got sat in a chair fairly quick. While enjoying the massaging chair the ladies worked on our feet. I got an older lady with glasses, she didnt speak english, but she was VERY GOOD!!! They worked on our feet for at least an hour and it felt amazing!! It made it even better that at the end of it the charge for 2 amazing pedi's was only $36!!! read more

Dropped in on a weekend afternoon for a manicure. Didn't have an appointment, but I was seated within a couple of minutes. I'm a low-maintenance kind of gal, so I just wanted my nails cleaned up and shaped a bit. The young woman doing my manicure did a fantastic job. My nails and hands looked great when she was done, and it all took less than 15 minutes. And I'm very thankful she was so fast, because the ventilation in that shop is awful. The fumes were overwhelming. By the time I left, I had a horrible headache. Six hours later, my lungs still burned. I admit, I'm sensitive to chemicals, so most people probably aren't going to be bothered. But in case fumes get to you, too--well, you've been warned. read more

This place is a no frills kinda place and I luv it! Great massage chairs and no upsell to get the spa pedi which is just seven bucks more than the standard. No drink service but a standard pedi that takes closer to an hour was done in 40 minutes. And they didn't scimp on the massage which felt great! It's located on the lower level of the shopping center containing Tom Thumb and is directly in front of the traffic light across from Top Golf and the gas station. Come get your cheap on! read more

I called about and hour before and they were able to take my appointment. Kim the sweet lady who did my manicure and pedicure was very professional and so sweet. We has a pleasant conversation. I told her I was expecting and she gave me motherly advice, so sweet. I am very particular about my nails and have high standards when it comes to service and by far Kim provided exceptional customer service. She took her time and clipped my cuticles nicely massage was okay but I didn't expect much cause it was 1 hour before closing. She didn't mind that I brought my own nail polish, nail filers and buffers. If you plan to try this place out I highly recommend you book am appointment with Kim.
