My sister and I were out and about and decided to get a pedicure. Instead of driving across town to our normal place we decided to just drop in at one of the salons near by. We ended up at nail expertise. After looking over the menu my sister and I decided to get the tropical pedicure because it came with a 25 minute massage but unfortunately it DID NOT! Starting off we could tell my sisters nail tech had no training. Doubt he even has - license. The owner/manager was yelling(telling him what to do) at him every step. He did not once check in with my sister. Her water temp was cold and he left her nails to long. I have no complaints on my nail tech. Then I noticed they set the timer. Proceeded to go to the back to grab paraffin, mask and hot towels. They then did the mask, waited. Then added the paraffin and rubbed my legs(8min) and then took paraffin off and rubbed my feet for 2ish minutes. My sister proceeded to ask about the massage being short. The manager implied we wanted extra time. She looked at the menu and said it was 15 minutes. She said the scrub, mask, and paraffin are apart of those times. DON'T BE FOOLED by massage times, they are false advertising unlike every other nail salon in Dallas. This could have been easily rectified by doing the 25 minute massage that was listed in the menu(attached). While checking out we showed the owner/manager the menu saying 25 minutes and her response was "that's suppose to be changed." BEWARE!!!! All the good reviews have been coming here for years. I've been to this salon twice since I've moved to the neighborhood. They are now in a new location in the same shopping center named Cloud 9. The first time I got just a dip removal and a regular manicure. I was there for over an hour and the process took forever for such a simple service. I didn't see the menu but was surprised by the price of the service when I paid. I looked online when I got home and they had charged me $20 more than the service was worth on their menu without any of the additives performed! I went one more time 2 months later with my mom for pedicures and again--the service took 1.5 hours and my mom wasn't even able to get her toes painted due to time constraints. They were very rude and talked across the room at us where everyone could hear our conversation when we asked if we could go ahead and leave without the polish. read more

They have moved to same shopping center and changed names to cloud 9 and Thomas is still AMAZING but the staff is getting worse and worse. Especially Vivian. Once she thinks you are a loyal customer she stops caring. This was my last time I will go there. She was rough, seemed inconvenienced to do them and then never looked to see if any were even straight, rounded corners on some but not others and the polish to actual cuticle is crooked on some as well. Done giving second, third chances. Only did it because Thomas was so amazing but way to expensive for what they provide. read more

I have passed this place a million times I bet. I happened to be in the neighborhood this past Saturday, and needed to get my nails done, so I decided to stop in. They were able to get me in right away. This place is on the old side, but definitely clean. No frills and all they have are the spa pedicure chairs that line each side of the room. They do your nails while you're getting your pedicure, which is convenient, but also kind of a pain because you have to pay more attention to making sure you hold onto the UV light thingy. But they really make it all easy for you. The lady doing my nails even let me take a break or two so I could have a sip of my wine. Free wine. Woohoo. They have the pedicure menu, but I went for the basic, which was $25. Gel nails are $35. If you're in this area and need to get in and out of a nail appointment I would recommend this place. Don't ever go here. I was treated with the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced and left in tears. She got mad and literally yelled at me because I asked her to even out the lengths so they matched on both hands. Customers came in and walked out because of how she was treating me. She yelled she was having a bad day and can't make me happy. The pedicure water was cold even after I told them and she made me bleed. I wanted to give Nail Expertise a 5/5 stars, simply because Thomas is so great but he's about the only thing about this salon worth coming for. Thomas greeted me right away, offered me a beverage, and turned on my massage chair. He was personable, greeting everyone by name and asking about family members by name. However, he was answering the phone, greeting people, gathering supplies, cleaning chairs, all in the midst of my pedicure. I was annoyed, but realized he really was trying his hardest to keep everything running smoothly. I waited 45 minutes in the massage chair until my pedicure began and was about to leave, but decided it would be faster to wait than to go elsewhere. I probably won't be coming back, although I wish Thomas much success and hope he hires more staff who are as great as he is. read more

So my sister and I are here visiting and needed pedicures with little tme to spare. We were planning on driving to a place 20 minutes away that we have been to in Oak Lawn, but really didn't have the time so I yelped a closer salon. The first two I called couldn't take us so I resorted to calling Nail Expertise even though it had only a two star rating. They said they could take us, so we headed on over. I have to say, our pedicures were fantastic! Thomas the owner was very nice and the end result, a beautiful pedicure along with a great massage. Couldn't have been happier. As far as tipping in cash, this seems to be a complaint from the other yelpers here, isn't this normal? Where I come from, you always tip in cash, wouldn't think of tipping any other way or showing up to a salon without tip money. Will be back next time I am in town and in need of a pedicure. read more

This is my second time at Nail Expertise and honestly I have mixed feelings. The staff and chairs are plentiful and no wait on a Saturday. Both times I opted for the spa pedicure and the 15 minute massage was not rushed and wonderful. My first time in I had a pedicure and manicure and got shellac. I was very unhappy with my OPI shellac as it lasted only a few days and was not done good. Had I not been out of town I would have returned and demanded it to be redone. The owner is really nice and likes to go around and talk to everyone. He has a bright smile and is super friendly. Keep in mind this place is cash tips only. I wish I would have known that ahead of time. Needless to say, I have yet to find a salon that I just really love. I will keep coming here as a backup plan, but I do need to find somewhere I like better. read more

I showed up at 11 AM, their opening time on Sundays, and the doors were locked and no lights were on. I waited a few minutes until finally they rushed into the salon and welcomed me in. Because they hadn't gotten there early, there was no AC, nothing was set up, and there were only three employees. At one point, I asked for a second towel (so my feet didn't touch the plastic part of the chair) and they said "no" with no explanation. My nails look fine but I wouldn't come back. read more

I went to get my eyebrows done, and the woman wasn't my usual girl but I've never had any problems. For $10 they usually clean up my eyebrows by trimming, tweezing and of course the wax. I got the wax only and she left some still on my face. She was smacking her gum right over me I was worried it would fall on my face. Nothing was cleaned up around my eyebrows. She just walked out without asking if everything was alright and left before I had a chance to look at them. I'm going home now to do it myself but I don't think I will ever return here read more

My pedicure was perfect the nail technician took her time, covered the whole toe nail and cleaned around the edges. Leg and foot massage was good yet could have been a little longer. Pleasant staff and happy clientele. Overheard it's been in business in this location for 18 years, that says something. My first time using this nail salon; there were more good things than bad things, this the 3 rating. I do plan to give the another chance(s) to earn a 5 rating. Good things: I was helped immediately & everyone was polite & spoke better English than I have usually seen. Heather did my fingers & sweet, kind Helen my toes. My feet were perfection. I got a finger cut on my thumb & an immediate apology. I asked for Heather to buff my nails, cost me $3.00 extra; I've never been charged extra to buff, caused me to leave a $4.00 tip instead of a $5.00 tip, since I got the Monday special, I did not complain for the extra charge. Not really a problem & this won't stop me from returning. I was checked out by (Thomas ?) who was very professional & thanked me for my business (very nice). I was charged correctly! I've been coming here for the past 2 years. The staff is always friendly, the place is clean and I get great service- no matter what it is: mani, pedi, gel nails, gel mani or the latest- long wear polish. I've also noticed that the clientele seems to be long time customers. That is always nice to see. It seems every time I come there is a mom and her daughter, or an older lady or more than once (!) straight guys telling stories about how they have been coming here for the past 5, 10 + years because the service and management is so great. I love hearing that. It's a straightforward place, good selection of polish and pedi/mani services. They'll get you in and out. Always easy parking. Never a wait. Can't say enough good things. This place does an AMAZING job with nails. They look great. However every time I go I wait at least an hour to an hour and a half just for them to start on my nails. They only have one person doing nails and they're very slow. Once they start on my nails it goes by pretty quickly but it took an hour for them to get to me which I'm not okay with. read more

Went here today for the $35 mani and pedi special which was a complete joke. First, the water temperature was way too hot and burned my feet and I had to ask the lady to turn the water temperature down 3 times before it was bearable. The lady that did my pedi literally just trimmed my toe nails and painted them. Nothing else no massage no nothing. I politely asked if she would trim the dead skin around my toe and she told me that was extra $. From my experience a pedicure includes much more than just trimming nails and painting them and if I would of known that's all they would do I would of went somewhere else. The pedi lasted a total of about 5-10 minutes. The Lady "Khawh" that did my nails did at least put forth a good effort and did a pretty good job on my nails although some of them were painted uneven. I guess you get what you pay for but they should at least tell people that this "special" only includes a trim and paint and not the other normal pedicure services otherwise you would assume you are getting a regular pedicure that is at a special price at the specified times/days. So really this is not a special it is just an overpriced trim and paint. Also, I did voice my concerns with the manager when he asked if I liked my nails but the only response was "I'm sorry" and he walked away. Never again!!!!!! read more

Yesterday was my first visit to Nail Expertise as its pratically in my neighborhood. My friend and I walked in ( on a monday ) and it was almost as we were bothering them to get mani/pedi. I wanted shellack (sp) as Ive been getting it for quite a while. I usually go to another nail salon but they are closed on Mondays and I needed to get my nails done on my day off. The lady doing my nails then complained that my nail job I had done prior was cheap..( I dont think so ) and it was not a good job. ( My other nail salon has done a great job with my nails after taking acrylic off months ago ) She then huffed and puffed frequently being that she must have to work. My pedicure lasted about 20 mins. I was then asked did I want to pay an extra $5.00 to have callouses removed! Seriously? ( I get pedicures every two weeks ) I then noticed that another lady was getting a manicure ( a regular ) with a nice neck and arm massage. Other nail salons Ive been to those services are included. My cuticle was cut so badly that today it is sore to the touch. At the end she quietly asked me if I had checks to pay with, already bothered by poor customer service and attitudes I said 'No". She then wanted me to tip her. I am a very over tipper with excellent customers service. Lets just say I gave 5.00 total for both services. NOT IMPRESSED! This is a great shopping center/ neighborhood. Someone needs to buy this place out and update the employees and services. NEVER AGAIN! read more

been here twice, and it is the only nail place in dfw that is consistently awesome. first, they are super clean and for me thats a deal breaker. they line the tubs with the lining thing and the floor and decor is clean and very nice. they dont rush through your pedi, they take the time and really massage your legs and feet. their polish job is also great and i am have zero complaints. they do seem to be pretty busy and the owner remembers/knows everyone which is kinda cool. i highly recommend this place if you are anywhere even close to the area. i really have been disappointed with all other places I've tried in dallas. read more

The Salon is very clean and I always walk in and never have to wait. They give a great pedicure, one of the best I have had. However the pricing on their pink and white fills is ridiculous! I have been getting fills for over 4 years now, I know how it is done. I went to get a fill today. Rather than cutting my nails first, which I had told her when I sat down, she put the pink and white gel on. THEN she cut my nails. When I asked about the price, which was $10 more than what I paid last time, she said it was because my nails were so long when I came in, that it was more work and gel. I asked why she didn't cut my nails first, which would have saved time and product she said that she knew what she was doing. Then she proceeded to tell me that they can tell when it has been has been over 2 weeks by looking at the nails and that if it looks like it has been over 2 weeks, they charge more. I had gotten my nails done 2 weeks ago! I will not be going back, since the pricing seems to change between times. I'll be looking for another nail salon that has consistent pricing. read more
