My friend had Colony Grill on his bucket list. So I decided to introduce him with the new location in Shelton. I'd never been to that restaurant so it be new for both of us. Restaurant was easy access right off of Route 8 nestled into a renovated fast food restaurant location. Huge parking lot and it needed every parking spot. The place is packed being new to that area. There was a 30 minute wait on a Wednesday evening. We hit the bar and lucked out with two spots at the bar. Wait list defeated! Waitress super friendly and helpful. The bar has good selection of beers for all tastes. Full bar offered. We ordered two pies one having the signature hot oil of course. Food was out pretty quickly. If you've never been, the pizzas are super thin almost a cracker thickness crust. Many categorize as bar pies. I don't like to compare to the local New Haven pies in my opinion. They are their own thing. Having tried their pizza previously I had some expectations for the food. I enjoyed the pizzas BUT the hot oil pizza had zero spice to it. Very disappointed with the lack of heat. I spoke with other patrons that had the same experience so doesn't seem to be a one off. Hopefully they get that figured out. Oddly enough the pizza with cherry peppers had quite a a bit of kick making up for the lack of heat on hot oil pizza. Overall, good experience and may try again in a few months. read more

Colony Grill scores again. The franchise has now come to Shelton, as what was an underperforming Burger King is now gone and the restaurant has since been renovated & morphed into the newest Colony, replete with its trademark interior brick facades and signature shamrock logos. And of course, what would any Colony be without its classic rock soundtrack and its signature thin pizzas?! Check out their seasonal Winter Kale Salad pie for a change of pace. Wait time on weekend nights was only about 20 mins. Good to see a CT staple doing a brisk business on Bridgeport Ave. Cheers! read more

It's hard to believe this was ever a Burger King location. The restaurant is nothing but clean, well decorated, and another beautiful location for well-made Colony Grill pizza! It feels very spacious inside and has excellent service! I grew up going to the Stamford location and I'm happy to have other Colony closer to me in New Haven County (where I now live.) We got three pizzas to share, pepperoni, onion, plain/salad. Each morsel was delicious and our server was on point making sure that we had our drinks refilled before even being asked. My husband and I will happily return soon to this location! read more

We always love Colony and previously had only been to the Fairfield location. Since Shelton recently opened and is now our closest location, we decided to go when their new summer menu items came out. We were impressed by the beautiful new building and found it's the same Colony we know and love! The pizzas were consistent to Fairfield, and we really enjoyed the summer white one. Great drinks too! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, and even gave us a tip that we can get hot oil on the side which we appreciated. This will likely become our new go-to location! read more

Boom! They've done it again! The place looks awesome! The conversion came out great! Looks like they built it fresh! The staff is awesome! They opened with a combo of fresh faces and experienced staff from the other stores. And the pizza is right on! I order the same pie at every Colony Grill and they, of course, nailed it here! I am not a fan of overly thin pizza and this pizza was expensive for what it is. I went on a busy Friday and could not even park for pickup. The pickup itself took 30 mins after I checked in and the restaurant was so crowded. read more

Brand new location one week ago with wonderful friendly service. Their one size pizza pie is 12-13 inches round. Its cut into 6 slices. It's nicely thin but a more than usual dense crust . They have a gorgeous fully stocked bar and comfortable dining room! read more

Colony is always a great stop and a CT staple for pizza. The parking lot was jam packed when we got there at 7:15, but our wait was only 20 minutes for a table, which was just enough time to get a drink at the bar. Our server was great, checking in on us quite often and making sure everything was fine. We ordered a Margherita pizza, a mushroom and bacon pizza, and the winder kale salad pizza. The two tomato pizzas were great per usual! The winter kale was very light and the salad was delicious, it just felt like more of a pita than a pizza. I would recommend getting well done if you want it crispy. It was lively inside and a great time overall. read more

Well the folks at Colony Grill have done it again. Their new location in Shelton has a beautiful bar, great pizza and as always a first class service staff. And, like their other locations, they honor our Veterans and First Responders by displaying their photographs throughout the restaurant and bar. "Unfortunately, this was the worst pizza I've ever had--it tasted and looked exactly like a frozen pizza. Despite being branded as a 'Grille,' they only offer pizza, no other items on the menu. Unfortunately never been so disappointed in a night out to eat. I have a neurological disease called MS, it affects my balance, ability to walk workout shuffling, speak and almost anything else you can think of. Only during flare up... which I happen to be having tonight. A close friend & I opted out to trying Colony Grill in Shelton tonight as it originated in our hometown of Stamford and we love. I have been in the middle of a bad flare up all day and felt like going to the bathroom to relieve myself and feel better so as to enjoy our time out to eat. I was accused of being a "drunk" and literally asked to leave. In an honest review, the pizza was great. But like I said, never have I been so offended. Wrongfully judged and humiliated in one single night. They comped our pizzas.. and demanded we leave their facility. I would like to point out I never ordered one drink... other than a WATER that I never even received. Very distasteful and unfortunate experience. Would not recommend this specific location due to the invasions and poor lack of judgement. 6/10. I should be able to go out to enjoy a meal for myself without being discriminated against. read more

this location is terrible the pizza they over cooked I was able to bang it against my table had me wait over 30 mins for just 2 cheeses and that's after calling 45 plus ago very disappointing I been going to colony since i could remember was very happy hearing a location open up by me but I guess thats what the valley gives you read more
