    Complimentary Italian bread and oil
    John M.

Located on the Northwest side of Chicago, this 4 generation family owned and operated establishment has evolved into a neighborhood favorite. Their menu is extensive with a huge selection of appetizers, soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches, pastas and desserts. Service is amazing and once we were seated we were brought complimentary Italian bread with olive oil and butter. Each dinner comes with either soup or salad. The Minestrone soup was very good..loaded with fresh vegetables and flavor. We had the Short Rib Bucatini which had a delicious tomato Ragu sauce . Portion was big enough to share. If you are looking for traditional Italian family recipes in a cozy setting, give Colletti's a try..you will not be disappointed.

I attended an industry-sponsored Lunch and Learn event. The fond memories this place brought back were a bit overwhelming. Colletti's has been a stable for decades. The interior has changed since the last time I was there. It seemed more spacious and meticulous. In addition to different dining sections, a party room can host events like the one I attended. Their delicious thin-crust cheese pizza was available while participants checked in. For lunch, we were served broasted chicken, Italian sausage with peppers, mashed potatoes, and green beans as sides. The chicken was outstanding. It was tender and succulent. The Italian sausage had a nice flavor and was enjoyable. To end the meal, we were treated to Italian Ice (not on the menu) and coffee. The staff was excellent and personable. There is a private parking lot with plenty of spaces. The overall ambiance was cozy and welcoming. Make sure to check out three framed historic menus on the walls. I highly recommend this place for a casual or intimate meal. You won't be disappointed.

Nice spot. Good outdoor space. Live music on the weekend on the patio. Friendly staff.

This place has got to be one of the most wasteful restaurants on the planet. Just like another…read morereviewer, I had high hopes for this place as it had great reviews and the fact that it was near public transit (assuming it gets high foot traffic). We went here after our flight landed in Chicago - instant regret. I ordered the chicken gyro, which, for some odd reason came with a quarter of white onion chunks, a whole Roma tomato, lots of lettuce, and a whole vat of tzatziki sauce. I requested feta, as that is pretty typical in a chicken gyro. I was told it would be an extra cost, to which I agreed. Yet imagine my surprise when I received not one, not two, but three entire sticks of whole feta. Not crumbled on top of my pita like I was expecting. Additionally these three blocks of feta ended up being $5. That's on me. If I had known to check the menu for whole feta sticks, I would have known better. Aside from that, the pita was almost completely inedible, as it was just coated and lathered in the tzatziki sauce. It came to me on a flat pita, completely impossible to pick up. I ended up requesting just a plain side pita to just construct my own. Wayyyy too much stuff wasted on one pita. Cook could have made a whole second pita from the very mid ingredients - would have made it more worth the price and excessive amount of feta. The side pita was reasonably priced. Just like the other hopeful reviewer, our fries were overcooked and practically hollow. Additionally, we each got a "side of fries" and that was practically a BASKET of fries. So...two baskets of too many overcooked fries. Another waste. I wanted to do more than pay and leave, but God did we have a rough flight. Was not expecting to be so disappointed upon stepping into what seems like a "Mom 'n Pop" kinda place. Run the other way so you don't feel guilty about the amount of food you are bound to waste.

If your lucky you may find parking on the Milwaukee Ave right alongside but it's metered & very limited number of spaces. I finally stopped by as there was 'A' metered spot on Milwaukee. Jefferson Park Grill has a fairly large choice of items but my heart & stomach had already decided on The hobo skillet. The Hobo Skillet has hash browns, onions, sausage, bacon, cheese & 2 eggs on top over east. Delicious cardiac city.

The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the smell, and it is coming from the outdated carpet. It is not subtle. It lingers throughout the entire space and makes it hard to fully enjoy the experience or even have much of an appetite. Older carpet is a real issue in restaurants. Over time, it traps dust, food particles, grease from the air, moisture, and bacteria. If it is not regularly deep cleaned or replaced, that buildup starts to break down and creates a heavy, musty odor. It does not stay contained in the carpet either, it rises into the air and essentially fills the entire space. The smell is so strong that it takes away from what would otherwise be a really good dining experience. Updating or properly maintaining the carpet would make an immediate and noticeable difference.

The reviews advertised authentic German food. As a German I had to try it. The potato pancakes were a good start, tasted like mom used to make. The Platter had a lot of food. I don't know what region this place is from, the sauerkraut and Blaukraut were not Bavarian, the Spätzle felt ready made and not home made. The Bratwurst was too fine for me, I'm thinking north German. The strudel was good tho. The service was fantastic! From host to server they took care of me and made sure I wanted for nothing, so I can't complain there. Decor wise this looks like what you'd imagine a German restaurant looking like in the US. Lots of banners advertising beer and German flags hanging on the walls with a collection of steins everywhere you look. Overall it's not "authentic" for me, but the food tasted good and the service was exceptional.

Oktoberfest 2025 begins on Saturday Sep. 6 and goes until Sunday Nov. 2 (it is a lot of fun if you like beer and live traditional German songs. I almost always order one or more of the following: Steak Tartar (as a starter), followed by Leberknodel Soupe (liver dumpling soup), and then either the Bavarian Pork Shank, or the Sauerbraten, or the Wiener Schnitzel (a breaded & fried veal cutlet that's as big and pounded flat as a large pancake) as my main. Get these with the Spätzle and the sweet stewed Red Cabbage for the best experience. There is truly no reason to order the burger or the salmon.
