Since finding out I needed to be gluten free I have struggled to find good options out there on a consistent basis. I have been to Coles three times now and I really love it. I have ordered items from Cole's many times while working at a local company nearby. Their products are tasty and very good but fairly expensive as well in my opinion. I like that they have some frozen items and they do have mark downs that are still very tasty - you just need to use them quickly or freeze them. When I am on the Northside of Spokane I go over to check them out for I have celiac disease and I know I can trust that this food is gluten free. read more

I ordered a assortment of vegan desserts and frozen breads to try. I Believe I paid a little over $50 for 5 desserts and two bags of frozen bread. A little $$, but you're paying for a rare treat, so worth it. The treats were perfectly fine in flavor and pretty, but honestly I found myself not craving to go back. I would recommend if you are gluten free vegan, but maybe it's just me that I find the treats a little too oily for my preference. We ordered online for doordash delivery today 12/31 at 2:11pm. We got order but it was missing the 16 oz mocha! And the soup was french onion soup but when we called the store to get the soup of the day we were told it was turkey and rice! We ordered the soup n salad. The person it was for Can't eat onions! We had to throw it out. So I request a refund for $8 mocha that was not even delivered and for french onion soup of which we did not order and had to throw out. read more

Food is pretty good. However they advertise things such as the chicken strips and fish as being all housemade but they are frozen not made in house. I could tell just looking at them. It's clear the owners have no idea how to run a restaurant. The servers are always too busy making coffees and selling pastries to actually serve people. I had been waiting for 20 minutes for service. One girl came around to bring us water and silverware looked very stressed because it was a bit of a rush at the time and said she was new and that she would tell the server to come take our order and the server didn't show up for at least 10 more minutes. During this time I saw many people get up and leave. It seems that the waitresses only have 1 iPad to take orders on. I don't know who's idea that was but they need to rethink. You guys need at least 4 servers on weekends and one iPad for each of them. That should go without saying. Figure out how to run a restaurant and it will be a pretty good place. read more

Restaurant Week is always a great reason to take a drive and try places that you may not normally search out. Cole's made our list. While I really appreciate a restaurant that specializes in gluten-free as well as keto, we left with a very underwhelming experience. AN extra star for the friendly service and good coffee. The good: - Service was friendly - Coffee was good - Unique baked goods The not so good: - Many of the dishes were not as advertised. - While there were a couple of decent dishes, most were rather blah. -Confusion when bringing dishes out. We were really excited to try Cole's after seeing their menu for restaurant week. We were greeted promptly and they took our drink orders. They then used a tablet to take our food orders. I like the idea of using technology, but it turns out, it didn't really help here. First course arrived. I really liked the Gorgonzola Fries. While they didn't really have an Gorgonzola sauce, they were still good. The Bahn Mi dish seemed to be a hit at our table as well, but things went downhill from here. My second course was the Chicken Fried Steak. The meat was rather dry and there was not a lot of gravy. I have had better at regular diners. Other people in the group tried the Gnocchi. The dish arrived late, and there was no Gnocchi to be found. It took a few servers to finally realize what was missing. It was finally fixed well after others had finished their course. The Gnocchi turned out to be these little hard inedible balls that seemed to be deep fried. Dessert arrived. I had the lemon tart, which turned out to be a lemon bar that was actually pretty dry. It was not a layered lemon dessert with toasted marshmallow as described in the menu. Even though they used tablets to take the order, they still came out asking who ordered what. This is very annoying. I had looked at the baked goods in the case earlier and was thinking about purchasing some items to go, but decided against after our experience. I also felt rather ill about an hour after we left. While I can't directly link it to the food, it is rather suspect. read more

Incredible! The food was so delicious, we couldn't even tell it was gluten free! The cinnamon rolls were amazing, just like "real" ones, so soft and flakey and fluffy. I have tried to make dairy and gluten free cinnamon rolls before, and they were a travesty. I want Cole's recipe! :) Everything here is 100% gluten free. Celiacs can eat here without worry. They also have dairy free, vegan, and keto options. I've never seen a restaurant with at keto menu before! In addition to my cinnamon roll, I had a bulletproof coffee and a grilled cheese sandwich. I am dairy and gluten free, but I just had a grilled (vegan) cheese sandwich, and it was amazing! And the coffee was delicious too. We will _definitely_ be returning. It's so nice to have options I can eat (my husband too - he's gluten and lactose sensitive). So many options, no stressing about it or feeling bad you're asking for all these customizations, and so very tasty. We could also tell the food was made from scratch. I cook from scratch at home, and my husband remarked that he felt light and good after eating our meal at Cole's, just like when he eats at home. I agree! You could tell it was real food, without junk additives. We will definitely be back! The next time we're pondering over where to go, we'll remember Cole's. Definitely a fan. Stopped in for a coffee which, as it turns out, they have a fairly limited menu for (only an iced mocha or a hot french press). It being a bazillion degrees outside, I got the iced mocha and it hit the spot. Full disclosure: I came in to burn an hour or so between meetings up north. However, this allowed me to see just how good the staff at Cole's is at their job. The gal behind the counter was super nice to everyone that came through the door. Some customers were clearly regulars grabbing a drink and sandwich to go, some sat down for a full dinner, while some came in because they were trying to cut gluten (or something else) out of their diet and were merely information seeking. No matter the reason for their visit, she handled it all extremely well; often doing two or three things at a time. I could go on but the takeaway here is that the knowledge and effectiveness of the staff is 10/10, two thumbs up, Gold Star, all of it. Some offerings they have that I found pretty neat: take and bake pizza, pancake mix, scone mix, made-to-order cakes (like an entire book of really cool ones), bottles of honey, and most recently (so I was told) a selection of beer you can enjoy there or take with you to go. Mary has to wait a very long time for her main course. (The rest of our party were already done by the time we were able to chase hers down.). Her Gnocchi dish had no Gnocchi so it had to go back to the kitchen... My Mousse was served over dry cake crumbs that weren't even supposed to be in the dish and toasted almonds were nowhere to be seen. This place is the safest for a celiac in Spokane. Everything is gluten free, so if you're like me and CONSTANTLY worried about having your food cross-contacted, then your mind will be at ease here. My wife is gluten free. I took her here for her birthday. I was so looking forward to taking her to a place where she could order anything on the menu. She was so excited when I told her where we were going. We went on a weekday morning for breakfast. I've never had a better experience when it comes to staff, they have really awesome, polite, and attentive staff. My wife ordered a waffle and savored every bite. She also got over-easy eggs and bacon. She said they were the PERFECT over easy eggs. I was skeptical but I ordered the patty melt and onion rings, as most of the breakfast stuff I like is already GF, I wanted to try something different. My onion rings, I would have sworn were not GF. They were awesome. I could tell the bread on my Patty Melt was GF, but I have a lot of experience with GF bread. It was good, and there was nothing wrong with any of it. We had a great experience and I look forward to treating my wife to Cole's in the future, even though it's about a 45 minute drive for us. They've done something really special there. I couldn't help but be a little sad while we were there. My grandfather was diagnosed with Celiac disease in the late 80's or early 90's. It was basically unheard of when he was diagnosed. My grandma made him homemade bread every week and tried so many recipes looking for the perfect blends for a better final result. My grandpa passed away in 2017, and I wish I had known about Cole's back then. He would have really enjoyed it. It's mind blowing how well the owner has done when it comes to developing really great recipes that are GF but not at all obviously GF. read more

Such a spacious and wonderful place to get really delicious things that are healthier for you than most things. They are local and the owners are so sweet. The coffee is really tasty and the dessert options go on for days. I love the menu and how many choices people with dietary or conscious needs have. I heard about Cole's on Facebook and was excited to try it since they have Keto options on their menu. They have something for anyone here from omelette to burgers and soup. As I stated in my check-in, I stopped in for a quick impromptu bite-to-eat with a buddy of mine and his wife and a couple of the staff members of their church. I wasn't at Cole's for very long, as I had to go to work. I was probably there 30 minutes or so. I did however place an order to-go for my lunch at work. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries. Upon walking in the atmosphere was very inviting. The tables were a good distance away from one another that you didn't feel like the patrons at the next table couldn't hear your conversation. The restaurant was exceptionally clean. The staff were very nice and friendly. Now on to the food. The pulled pork sandwich was without a doubt the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever eaten. And trust me I've had some pulled pork sandwich's before. I had to smell the food in my truck for 20 minutes before getting to work, it smelled so good, I couldn't wait to eat it. So worth the wait. The french fries were very good too. My one and only complaint is I didn't feel the order of fries was enough, but I like fries so I won't hold that against them. The customer service, atmosphere, and the quality of the food more than made up for it. I don't remember exactly how much I spent but I can say it didn't seem to be more than it should be. Unfortunately I've had to update my review from a couple of years ago. I used to love this place but I'm afraid it's gone downhill in the last year. Their bakery items are usually pretty good but the food is hit or miss. If I get food to go it's usually missing an item. On several occasions the mozzarella sticks I used to love have been cold and hard on the inside. I've been given items that weren't fully cooked and enough soggy sandwiches that I refuse to eat meals there now.They don't seem to have a good system for dining in so don't be surprised if you have to go up to the counter to place your order because a server never came to take your order at the table. You'll also have to go back to the counter to pay for your meal, which depending on the time of day there can be a long line since there's only one cash register. I will say that the people that work there are all really nice and some of the pastries are worth trying. I don't think the regular food is worth the hassle though. read more

First off, this place is more expensive than the two $ makes you think. Bought some frozen dinner rolls for the bargain price of $7.50. When I went to pay for them, they rang up $8.50. The cashier seemed surprised when I said the sign shows $7.50. She went to the freezer case and sure enough, $7.50. She said they raised the price without telling her and continued to stick firm to the $8.50 even though the sign showed $7.50. Wouldn't budge even $1 for the error. Buyer beware here. We enjoyed breakfast here in late July of 2019. We found it to be an excellent place for breakfast. The service was great, the food was excellent, and the establishment was very clean and modern. I stumbled upon the place by accident. I'm not gluten-free, but I do love healthier, tasty food. I was extremely excited to discover that they offered a wide selection of dairy-free and vegan options. My meat-eating friend was equally excited to see that they had grass-fed beef on the menu. I tried the house-made, vegan, bean burger and the tomato-basil soup. Both were delicious. The patty was unusually soft (think sloppy Joe). I wrapped it up in a napkin, which made it much easier to eat. Despite its soft texture, the vegan burger was full of flavor with just the right amount of spice. The bun was a cross between cornbread, a biscuit and a bun. I haven't ever tasted anything quite like it, but it was super tasty. It was served dry. So, I chose to dress it in a spicy vegan mayo-also delicious. The one item that wasn't up to par was the toffee bar. It was dry and had a dense, maple flavor. However, the hostess immediately replaced it for a scrumptious lemon bar when I mentioned it to her. In fact, the customer service was great from start to finish. This was my second visit to Cole's. Food is ok, but very expensive, which can be expected at a speciality diner. What makes this visit particularly disappointing is the fact that I was charged double the amount for a dry good I purchased to take home. When I disputed the charge, the manager told me that their advertised signs are out-dated, and she apologized for the confusion but insisted that I still had to pay the increased fee. As a small business owner myself, I would have honored the advertised price - no excuses. Instead, I returned the product and I will not dine here again. So tacky. read more
