I have gone to this bakery twice now and taken a sourdough class. Every visit has been wonderful. The staff is so warm and welcoming. They are located in the same shopping center as Super 1 and Ace Hardware. I like their coffee bakery shop is to the left of the parking lot and has ample spaces to park. The shop itself is very big and spacious. It includes lots of room for seating for different party sizes. The selection of pastries, breads and drinks make this an excellent place to visit. The prices are also very reasonable. I did also take the beginner sourdough class and had a great time. It was a small group and the instructor (owner) really took the time to answer questions, discuss methods and helped us perfect the techniques. Class took us through every step of the process and we got to go home with a starter and a loaf we cut. Since then I have made my own loaf using what I learned and it came out perfect. Been here a couple times now - forgot to get a photo of our soup bowls, but they make homemade soup du jour each day! Ours was Loaded Baked Potato and was excellent. Their pastries are really where they shine. It's hard to capture in photos, but the rolls are bigger than my hand. Prices are fair and the dining area is cute and cozy. It seems like they might be family owned, and we love that they support the special needs community! The service is good and the team all works well together. The only downside is that their coffee station is a little limited in options/specialties, but they're mostly a bakery and so that's totally fine. Definitely worth coming for lunch and taking home some desserts for later! read more

My first visit was a blast. Having worked with folks with challenges, I interacted with a young man and young woman. When I asked for their names, I also said, "We are both Bob. " On our next visit, we were greeted with, "The Bobs are here!' I needed special cookies for a visitation after a funeral so I headed back. Four and a half dozen were ordered and ready when I came to pick them up. Since then I have had a person come to my house to ask where I got the cookies. I was happy to say the Village Bakery. Second time in, we ordered the ham and cheese jalapeño croissant again, because you just have to every time! We were going to get one of their house made sandwiches this time, however the pastries yet again captured all of our attention! Maybe next time sandwich, maybe next time. We were there mid-morning, and they had already run out of a lot of stuff. But they had two ham and cheese croissants left, and we greedily grabbed them. Hubby also got a sausage stuffed pastry, and loved it. We prefer savory, but most of their products are the sweet stuff, and we did pick up some gorgeous pecan rolls for our sons to have a breakfast treat before work the next day. Love the concept of this place. When you walk in you can see the entire kitchen, and all the staff working. The staff that serviced us was very friendly. We tried several of the cinnamon rolls, original, Carmel pecan, and huckleberry lemon, they were delicious. We also ordered the ham cheese, and the jalapeño croissant. Perfect!!! The best service we have had lately. Someone greeted us at the door, instructed us to fill out an order blank, and continue on through the service line. The cookies were delicious ( peanut butter). My sister ordered a pecan roll and it was enough for 4! Our sandwiches all came separately but close to each other as they are made to order.
