This is the closest Cold Stone to me but I never go. I was reminded why on yesterday. It feels like the ice on the slab is for decoration because there's no way a slab up to temp could mix so poorly. I have a marble cutting board that I use to mix ice cream at home. Never as a novice have I had the melted mess the professionals give me when I visit this location. We visited on a Sunday after watching a movie next door, and it was BUUSSSYYY!!! We waited in line for about 20 minutes. We ordered 3 custom creations. I recently had to go dairy free for an allergy and let them know. She offered to find new silk ice cream in the back and fresh cut strawberries from the back. Then mixed it in a completely separate container to avoid cross contamination. I was so happy that they were so accommodating! It was my first time trying the silk ice cream & it was good! I would give zero stars if I could. I have no clue how anyone could be so stupid as to mix ice cream with strawberries so badly, but here I sit with a melted mess. I got a "surrender to strawberry" and clearly she forgot the strawberries. I asked her to fix it and she dumped maybe 3 or 4 on top. Attitude the entire way. As I'm eating it she didn't even mix the cake/whip into the ice cream well. It was all bunched in one area. The ice cream was mostly melted (cold stone my ass). I might charge back on my card. It has been ages since I've been here. Covid kinda hit this whole shopping area real hard (theatre). Went out here on a whim with my daughter looking for a banana split. Kinda upset they couldn't do a custom order but hey, the employee behind the counter did her best with what she had. It was delicious and I definitely had no complaints. I did have an issue with the system check-out. If you have a reward, it doesn't tell you what the reward is.. you just have to blindly accept it. In my case I had a bogo and I only bought one. The employee was super awesome and worked with me but I'd think that the company should consider improvements to customer check-out satisfaction. Unfortunately, the area is starting to really take a toll from lack of development improvements to the area. It's starting to look like the shopping center that is "alive" but on its last legs. Our closest cold stone was available for delivery. We picked out our stuff. Paid. Didn't really mind the 8.99 delivery fee. It gave us a time of 8:35pm for our ice cream to arrive. So we waited. 8:40 came around and no one showed up so I decided to call. They told me they had my ice cream there. And that in order to get it I'd have to come in. So I told them I wanted a refund and they told me I had to come in for that too they couldn't do it electronically. So we are without ice cream and without 30$ because of cold stones mistake. The employees here are fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Our issues with the store certainly didn't have anything to do with the staff. The store was clean and tidy as well. We didn't have an issue finding a clean table to sit at. The issue with this store is they were almost out of ice cream! To me, that indicated a serious lack of managerial planning. It's been an incredibly hot summer and safe to assume people are going to be seeking out relief from that heat at any chance they can. To have such a limited selection of ice cream is a business killer. Now I'm pretty weird about ice cream. I don't like anything that isn't chocolate based. I don't like butter cream or mint chocolate chip, none of it because the ice cream itself isn't chocolate. Guess what they were out of? I was able to pay on line when I ordered on Thursday so that saved me a ton of time having to deal with people when I went in to pick up on Friday. In and out in 5 minutes. My kinda transaction!!! They have premade cakes you can go in and pick out right from the freezer but you won't be able to personalize those. When you order in advance (either in the store or on line like I did) you can personalize with messages.....I.e. Happy birthday, congratulations, etc. Good cake and good ice cream.
