Cookies are straight fuego! Definitely recommend the s'more's cookie, or any really. Ice cream is meh, definitely just recommend getting the cookies and milk. We've tried the cookie sandwiches a couple times now and it doesn't make sense to get it when the cookies are so good by themselves and the ice cream being meh.
My son orders all the time so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the super 6 - 5 classic cookies and one deluxe. I ordered m&m, double chocolate chunk, white chocolate macadamia, snickerdoodle, sugar, and deluxe was confetti. Ordered arrived the m&m was replaced with double chocolate chunk and the confetti was replaced with oatmeal chocolate chip walnut. I understand replacements can happen but the decision to replace with a nut cookie was a poor decision. Should've just replaced with something already in the order or a different cookie not containing nuts.
Had a craving for snickerdoodle cookies at midnight so took a 30 minute drive to Insomnia Cookies. This location is on ODU property. Surprisingly there was a line at 1230am lol but the line went quickly. Got my warm cookies and ate them in my bed. They were yummy. Few things to note before going. - they don't accept cash at all - parking is extremely limited - cookies are made fresh constantly throughout the day so if they don't have what you want simply ask - prices are kind of high
I've heard so much hype about these cookies! I think their strategy is to find locations close to college campuses. This location is located near ODU and campus housing. I was nearby so I decided to make a quick stop. Upon entering, I was greeted, but the staff member seemed super stressed and flustered. It turned out that their payment system was down, and their cashless, so the only way I could purchase some cookies is if I placed an order online and paid through the online transaction. No biggie, so I did just that and as soon as I completed the transaction, the ticket immediately popped up in the kitchen. Super quick. It just took me some time to navigate their online menu. I can understand that they must do cashless for security reasons, but when technology fails, cash is still king and it can be a hassle for non tech savvy folks. They have several types of cookies in 2 sizes, classic and deluxe. Since this was my first visit, I opted for half a dozen of classic cookies (the smaller kind). I got the chocolate chip, red velvet, double chocolate, peanut butter, and snickerdoodle. The cookies are kept in an oven/warmer so when you purchase, the cookies are served warm. I wish I would have tried it when I first got them, but I was in a rush to get back home at the time. I can see people love the cookies. The warmth elevates the taste. They are pretty decent, with a chewier texture. Half a dozen was $13.50 plus taxes. Tips - Place your order online. If you're a visual person like me, who eats with their eyes, there are no cookies on display here, so looking at the pics online and placing the order will most likely be faster. - eat them warm, when you first get them - parking in front, if you're lucky enough to get one! These cookies are absolutely addicting. They are crispy and delicious. I always go for the larger box because you can't just eat one. This particular visit the staff wasn't very attentive. My order was incorrect. However, I still enjoyed them. The store was extremely clean, which was a plus. I love that they use fresh ingredients for these cookies. They are made to order, which is an added bonus. The macadamia nut cookies are my favorite. They are not too sweet and the nut adds the perfect touch. The oatmeal raisin cookies are soft and delectable. I am a traditional chocolate chip girly. The Chocolate chip cookies were made to perfection. The crispy edges and buttery cookie was very satisfying.all of the cookies were decadent and I truly love the entire box
It was alright nothing crazy. I thought I was going to get a hot brownie with the ice cream:/ but workers were nice and the store was clean!
Girl at the front was super nice and explained the flavors and helped me with my first order. The cookies were better than the ice cream. The ambiance isn't really much of a stay and eat kinda of place. Also kinda pricey
Ordered online late night and really like that the delivery is quick and cookies were still a little warm and fresh! Tip: To re-warm cookies i like to wrap in a damp paper towel and microwave them for about 10 seconds. If you found this helpful, give it a like!
What!! These cookies are better than my mom cookies. The service is quick and cookies served warm. When I need a good classic cookie to remind me of my childhood. This is it!!
The cookies are excellent but the customer service wasn't so great. This place seems to be staffed by looks like college kids who are short, rude, and constantly on their phones. While taking my order I was rushed, and the cashier just seemed like I was bothering her. She talked extremely fast and would cut me off in mid sentence trying to get me to hurry up and say what I wanted to order. However, the cookies were amazing, very soft and tasted liked they were freshly baked. I decided to try the monster-which. That consisted of 2 cookies of your choice with a scoop of ice cream of your choice in the middle. Parking is a little worrisome during the day since it is located on the ODU grounds but I will be back to try some more cookies.
Customer Service was fantastic! We just came to Norfolk and my son couldn't pick the cookie that he may like. And the ladies are very kind and helpful and gave him a free cookie to try and were grateful for their kindness and generousity. And we ordered White choco macadamia, triple chocolate cookies and snicker doodle and they were all great tasting. The cookies are crispy on the outside and just moist in the center. Ambiance-wise! Highly recommended and just going to the store it smells so good! You'll get hungry just by entering their store
If you're looking to fill your sweet tooth and a spot that's open late this should be your go to! The cookies are cooked to perfection, not too hard or too mushy it just melts in your mouth. The ice cream is so GOOD, idk if it's homemade but baby it sure tastes like it is! I ordered a pint of the salted caramel and it almost didn't make it home, clearly didn't make it to the picture section for this review. If you order the combo you get two cookies and some milk. This might be a bit extra but they don't offer any other milk except 2%, whole or chocolate so no there isn't almond, cashew or anything special. Other than that I enjoyed my milk and cookie combo, it was so perfect. One thing I didn't like is the fact that the location is by ODU and it seems like they may have hired some college students that don't have the best attitudes. My friend and I were asking questions about the different types of milk they offered and some questions about the menu and it seemed like we were annoying the cashier so much that she began to rush us to order. Other than that, I enjoyed my brief time there! I would recommend this place to the Cookie Monster.

Chile, if this isn't THEE SLOWEST location ever then idk what. We came here after a wine night and there were only 2 people in front of us, yet it took about 10 mins to serve them. Our party had about 7 ppl, I want to say it took NO LESS than 20 minutes to serve some darn cookies. It took forever, the girl was the absolute slowest, at a snail's pace is still too fast for her. Anyways, I ordered the cinnamon dolce cookie and it had a little filling in the middle. That cookie was amazing! I would go TO A DIFFERENT location but order it again. Because the line was so long, we had a chance to join the rewards and got a free basic cookie. Because of course the cookie I wanted wasn't ready and the wait was 15 mins, I opted for the snickerdoodle which was just OK. The cinnamon dulce is on the money. But, this location was so slow that literally half of the line got frustrated and left. I want to say it was at least 3-4 left the line while we were there. 3 stars because the cookies were good, the location was clean and the young lady was nice/professional. read more

The cookies are nice and warm ! So soft one was broken in half just being placed in the box before it was handed to me. The service however is ok, the lady looked down or rather uninterested/unwelcoming. But she did complete the order fast. Quiet scenery and clean area. read more

Lets just say, both times that I have been here as I was checking out I was eating the chocolate chip cookie and had to add another as I was paying. They are sooo good! I love chewy cookies and these are just that. My only gripe is the pricing, they are over priced but they are super good. Honestly think of it as a delicacy lol only to be taken occasionally. read more

Thursday afternoon mission to snag "cookie crack" for teachers before PT conferences. If only my customer service experience was as warm and sweet as the product. Empty store staffed with 2 employees, 1 seated in plain sight silently staring at me, the other hidden but eventually creeps to the counter to reluctantly dispense my order from a secret warming drawer. I tried engaging but he wasn't having it. Granted, habitually dealing with indecisive and/or drunk patrons until 3am probably isn't fulfilling. But, attentive service in an EMPTY store isn't unreasonable when (sober) customers 'dough' out $1.75+tax per cookie plus the cost of parking. Left with 2 double chocolates, 2 choc chunk, 1 choc mint, and 1 peanut butter, ~$12 for 6 cookies...or $3 per word with the feeling of inconveniencing BOTH EMPLOYEES thrown in for free. read more
I think this is where Cookie Monster would go if he needed his late night/early am cookie fix. I've only been here twice, but this most recent visit left me and a friend laughing at my captain obvious comment, "wow, I didn't realize they were open until 3am!" His reply, "well that's probably why they're called insomnia cookies." Haha .. whatever. The line was leading out the door after the Jo Koy show on a Friday night. It was busy! Despite the long line it moved at a good pace. Not too fast, but fast enough that it kept you still wanting to get that sweet smelling hot soft cookie. The prices are steep, so I wouldn't try to get too hooked on this place. You can just have straight up cookies, or have two cookies with icing between or a cookie wich with ice cream wedged between your cookies ,because who doesn't want more sugar on top of more sugar?!!! The cookies are warm, delicious but chocked full of sugar and I LOVE sugar. If you're not feeling like cookies, you can opt for just ice cream like my other friend did. There's not much seating. Just about 8 bar stools I believe and our crew happened to take residence on 90% of the seating. They have way more room that can easily seat more people. A lot of it is wasted space. Who knows maybe they don't want people to stick arOund and eat their cookiEs. Take them to go you zombie sugar mongers!! Totally kidding. But, I have no idea why they don't install more seating. They do sell bottles of milk, I don't know if they tried selling bottles of water. Just a thought But I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this. Fill your pie hole with a cookie that can't sleep! Soo good!!! When you order these cookies, you get them hot, fresh and soft and chewy exactly how cookies should be. Great spot to grab a quick dessert or a lol something sweet! Who doesn't love cookies fresh from the oven! The prices are kinda steep. I got 6 cookies for $10 yikes!! But they are really good!! You can find these cookies anywhere there is a college campus. Perfect late nite snack or bite while they study. My fave flavors was the sugar and the white chocolate macadamia nut. Delicious!! Give it a try, you will love them! read more

I don't care if Im from Virginia Beach but if Im craving an Ice Cream, Cookies or an Ice Cream Cookie, you can trust and believe I can always count on Insomnia Cookies! They're open past midnight and their closing times vary depending when you come. The thing I love about this place is that they have fresh baked cookies all the time that are that right goodness of chewy and chunky that fits perfectly with your ice cream of choice - and mind you they have tons of options of ice cream and cookies for your choosing. I personally go for their chocolate chip cookies and white macadamia! They are a must try! read more

Whenever I'm downtown visiting friends at ODU or hanging around town, I'll sometimes stop by here to get my cookie and icecream fix. Their cookies are so warm and fresh. The way the cold ice cream melts on top is so wonderful. They're open until 3am making them perfect for late night cravings. They're a simple shop, but a really awesome commodity. They lack in customer service skills - everytime I walk in they look aggitated already and don't say a word. The interaction is short and to the point, so it doesn't matter too much, aside from they don't get a perfect rating. Check it out, it'll easily be your late night fix. read more

First of all they have cookies. Then they have ice cream. Put them together and you love got a whole lot of heavenly sweet goodness! Combine this with late hours and milk by the bottle... where was this place when I was at school? Small cute shop offering a variety of cookie treats and about 6-8 delicious flavors of ice cream. Cookies are made fresh and appear to be the right combination of soft, chewy and crisp on the edge. My friends and I went here after a show hankering to satisfy our sweet tooth! We were so overwhelmed with sweet we came out needing something salty! ... maybe they need a late night fries shop next door? They also offer cookie cakes which you can have decorated to your choosing. Definitely a must go pit stop whenever I'm in the area. read more
Top 2 & they ain't 2 snickerdoodle cookies and don't try to debate me until further notice. All your cravings in one spot! An ice cream cookie sandwich is the ultimate treat for a sweet tooth, which is what I always get. I love the variety of cookies and ice cream that they have (sometimes forcing me to try new things). The warmth of the cookies sets it off & it's just all super enjoyable. The pricing seems a little much for "just" cookies & ice cream but the quality is important to point out here. I've never had a stale cookie from here. The location can be a little hassle since it's on campus & you'd have to pay for parking. Also a lot of open space in the front, which is good for when there's a long line, but I believe they could afford an a couple extra chairs. read more
Great option for a late night snack for me and the kiddos. The small ice cream options are too much for any kid probably under 12 but they are delicious options. Don't expect a lot of different options for cookies or ice cream though. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars. With the name we expected an array of different cookie options. read more
These cookies are AALLLWWAAAYYSSSS amazing. Seriously there hs to be crack in these cookies. When we get them EVERYTIME they are hot and melt with every bite. The reason I am giving this a 4 star is we ordered by app/online and were told it would be ready in 30mins. When we got there we waited an extra 15 due to the order "not printing out" and the cookies we wanted not being ready. I will always go back here they are SO GOOD!! The snickerdoodle is my absolute favorite followed by sugar. We thought the strawberry shortcake tasted a bit fake wasn't on our "get again" llist read more

A bunch of us came here on a whim on a late Thursday evening. The smell will have you salivating by the time you get to order. I didn't know what to expect with this place. With all due respect, it's just a cookie/ice cream shop opened until 3am. It was the Valentine's season and so they had large heart shaped cookies available (within 45 minutes). They're available in 6,12,18 and 24 packs. They also have brownies and fresh milk. The staff was nice enough. The line though short, took us a long time to get to order, not sure why. The cookies were yummy. Open late. Perfect for college students; duh, it's in the middle of ODU campus. read more

These cookies are so amazing! I love the chocolate chunk and butterscotch pecan! My family loves the chocolate peanut butter, salted caramel, and the brownie. We love when they are hot and fresh. So gooey and delicious No better way to enjoy than with some cold milk or ice cream! read more
