My husband is currently deployed and today I had to tell my kids that we are going to have to put our family dog down. We have been going through a lot, we were all heartbroken, so I decided to take them out for a small treat just to try to lift their spirits. Unfortunately, this is what we were met with. I wish I never even went at all. I ordered a dish of vanilla frozen custard with blue raspberry topping and gummy bears. What I received was a cone shoved face down into the dish with the gummy bears smashed underneath it. I did NOT order a cone. I was clear when ordering I wanted it just in a dish, no cone. Not the cone in a dish. When I asked for the order to be remade, the employees refused because they claimed they had repeated the order back to me and that I had ordered a cone. I called asking for a manager and ended up speaking to the same girls who made the order. I eventually went back and left my information for the owner, Rick, to call me. I also threw away the custard while I was there. Rick did call me, but instead of trying to understand why a regular customer was upset, he was immediately defensive. He told me word for word that he runs his business believing the customers aren't always right. Over a situation that meant a lot to me, it meant very little to him to even hear me out. I agree not everyone is always right but if I'm taking time to speak with you over an issue over YOUR business to correct and make you aware then have some respect to maybe think that your employees aren't in the right here. All of this over remaking roughly $5 worth of ice cream. Almost all of the reviews discuss lack of refund. They must really be struggling and rightfully so. I have been a regular customer but I WILL NOT be back. I also encourage anyone thinking about coming here to read the other one star reviews because, unfortunately, a lot of what those customers describe is exactly what I experienced. Sometimes customer service is simply about listening and showing a little kindness. They had multiple opportunities to make something so small right and chose not to. Take your business to Urban Ice, Sundae Scoop or Dairy Queen down the street instead. And here is the picture of what I was actually served. How is a 4 year old supposed to eat this? It's a mess.

Today I watched as the young lady, who appeared to be working alone, made snowballs with one glove on her right hand and no glove on her left hand. We ordered one waffle cone, one Snowstorm, and one milkshake. Total: $30.50. Thirty dollars and fifty cents for ice cream. At that price I expected at least one topping to be sprinkled with gold dust or blessed by a dairy priest. I paid with tap to pay after the cashier specifically asked if I wanted to tap. Cool. Fine. No receipt given. We step aside waiting for our order when I notice the giant sign saying if you don't receive a receipt at the time of order, your order is free. Well well well. The plot thickens. So I politely go back and explain I never got a receipt. Cashier suddenly develops selective amnesia and says she'll just print one now. That's not how this works, babe. Then enters Margie, shift manager and defender of the treasury. Margie immediately starts throwing excuses around like confetti at a parade. First she claims the cashier asked if I wanted a receipt and I said no. False. Then she says they can't refund me because I paid with a card. I told her cash works just fine for me, I'm flexible. At this point Margie actually pulls the cash from the register, but instead of handing it over she disappears into the back to hold what I can only assume was an emergency Supreme Court hearing with the cashier. She returns and suddenly the story changes again. Now apparently the cashier asked "the man" if he wanted a receipt and he said no. Girrrrrllll. My nephew is a child. Also she never spoke to him. The lies were getting so creative I was waiting for them to blame the waffle cone itself. Eventually Margie gives the refund, but instead of handing me the money like a normal human being, she tosses it onto the counter like she was paying off a poker debt in a smoky back room casino. I said, "Next time, Margie, put my money in my hand." This woman looks me dead in my face and says, "Next time, MISSY, put your hand out if you want it in your hand." Honestly, the ice cream was good, but the customer service had all the warmth of a tax audit. 10/10 entertainment though. I came for dessert and accidentally got dinner theater.
