First off, this ice cream spot has such cute decor. The two ladies that helped us were so nice and patient even though there was a line 20 minutes before closing. I tried Shellebration which was a seasonal flavor of cake batter with cake pieces and sprinkles and just ask which has peanut butter and Oreo. I was surprised my how large the Oreo chunks were and made my night. Was very happy with the size of a small and allowing 2 flavors. Love how they have a lot or seasonal flavors to try in addition to the staples. Not pictured but they have pints for sale as well as merch. They even have a drive through! Gelati Celesti is a go-to in my family. From the insane amount of flavors to choose from (even though I almost always get Chocolate Decadence). I absolute love their mint chip and amaretto flavors too. We've even ordered a 6-flight of ice cream this past Valentine's Day and it was the absolute best V-Day outing. Everything is made fresh and in house. You really can't beat a visit to Gelati Celesti. The service is always friendly and they always recommend trying any flavors to see what you're in the mood for! The parking lot and the drive thru were popping on a Saturday night and that's always a good sign! My husband and I got a pint of the "Just Ask" and it was a decadent mix of white chocolate ice cream,cookie pieces and peanut butter. Solid 10/10. This place is the best ice cream I have had in some time. The almond amaretto is my favorite. Great staff and open until 10pm.

Love the staff, they're so friendly and nice. My dad and I came in tonight after dinner and we were a bit overwhelmed by how many options they had. He settled on his favorite (butter pecan), meanwhile I couldn't decide. Pumpkin gingersnap caught my attention the most and after having a sample to make sure it was the one, I got a sugar cone of it. It tastes like a pumpkin spice latte in ice cream form with gingerbread flavored oatmeal cream pie cookies mixed in. It was lovely and sweet and perfectly spiced and something cold for a cold night. I think the place was empty because it was also so cold and a little late out (7:40 pm). It usually is packed the times I've driven by, which I can understand why now. It's overall cute and small, with good staff, and a wide range of options (including dairy-free), it'd be hard to not like this place. Maybe, unless you're here when it's packed! the gelato was alright, but the service doesn't make up for it. nobody greeted or said anything when my husband and i walked in (there was one party sitting down enjoying their gelato). i was helped by the thicker girl with glasses, and i was only met with a deadpanned "you ready?" when i asked for samples, i didn't receive any response, and was given the tiniest lick on the spoon. i came with my husband and he got and extra taste of what he asked for and was offered an extra scoop of his gelato. i was met with a straight face, no offer of anything, and no words. i didn't even want my gelato after this interaction. this may be the pregnancy hormones raging through, but you would think if a customer is having an enjoyable time, you would want to feed into that to get a better sale. it might just be the high schooler attitude, but you work in an ice cream shop. you've got it good. read more

Thursday 8/15/2024 Another year of me vacationing in Virginia Beach means another year of me visiting this amazing ice cream spot. Its still one of the top 2 best ice cream spots I've had, if not, the flat out best. I had to stock up the freezer back at home so i ended up getting 4x large cups of Oreo ($7.95 per large) for a total of $31.80. Oreo is still their best flavor with brownie sundae being number 2 but sadly they weren't selling any brownie sundae at the time since it's not a permanent flavor. I've loved Gelati Celesti since they opened their store in the Hilltop area a couple of years ago. Since I was craving something sweet, I decided to stop in a couple of weeks back and it was packed. Thankfully, they were staffed very well and we didn't have to wait long to order. I ordered the size small in a Waffle cone and asked for a scoop of Butter Pecan and a scoop of the Pralines and Cream. Once we received the ice cream and paid, we went outside to eat it since it was a beautiful evening. Unfortunately, after eating the top scoop which was the Butter Pecan, I realized that the bottom scoop was Almond Amaretto instead of Pralines and Cream. I'm sure since it was very crowded and loud due to others placing their order at the same time, the lady got the order confused and I wasn't paying much attention since it was so crowded. Nevertheless, the ice cream was still very good but next time I'll be a little more aware of which scoops I'm getting to prevent this from happening again. We went here as a family after going to one local spot and it was worth it. The place is bright and decorated with ice cream scoopers. The staff was great. We were able to try a bunch of flavors and ended up getting several. The flavors were fantastic. The ice cream was rich and creamy and we all enjoyed the flavors and taste. After Sophia and I left Bonchon, we made a stop here for some ice cream. This was one of our popular stops during the pandemic where we can eat inside of the car. Since then, they've opened up two more spots in Hampton Roads. Well, we decided to eat inside at this location for the first time and boy was it a treat. Once we walked in, we were greeted immediately by the staff and having samples of some of the flavors. The vibe was very chilled and the place was spotless. Definitely a nice time of the day to have some ice cream. I ended up selecting salted caramel (2 scoops) in a waffle cone. Very, very good. Real smooth and not too sweet. This treat was the icing on the cake. Sophia enjoyed her coconut ice cream as well. Not a bad way to end our trip to Virginia Beach. You can never go wrong with ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth. During my visit her in VA, I came here two times..back to back days. The ice cream has amazing flavor that made it extremely difficult to pick! I honestly wanted to eat all the flavors if I could. What a cute shop!!! Most of the employees we've encountered have been phenomenal (I had one sourpuss last night but the rest of the team were AWESOME)!!! The flavors are both traditional and inventive. The names are fun. Also, YES, we did have it for dinner last night. ;o) We first tried this spot when we were in town during the winter and made it a point to visit again one our last-minute VB visit. It did not disappoint. I had a medium, which allowed me to choose 3 scoops. I got the Blanchard's Dark as Dark (espresso), Just Ask (white chocolate ice cream with Oreos and PB), & The Dude (kahlua & fudge)...all freakin' delicious!!!! Another one off the list! Gelati Celesti has been on the try list for like, years! They have many locations but this is the one I see most often as I drive past for various things and trips throughout the week. I had no idea they had a drive-through! Awesome - it was buzzing tonight around 9pm when we arrived (they close at 10). They had tons of flavors and the gals inside were warm and friendly and happy to answer questions, make suggestions, and let us sample some of the flavors before we chose. In the end, we went with a small cup which is two scoops and you can mix flavors so we got my usual, mint chip and a chocolate cherry flavor. Very good - fresh - and yummy. Not the best ice cream in town (in my humble opinion) but very very good and hit the spot late night. Spotless inside with some cute merch for sale and plenty of seating. read more

This sweets shop is always a must stop when your in the area. The one thing I really enjoy is the drive thru alley thru have complete with lights overhead. This shop sits between the mattress shop and next to Nawab. The shop has a ton of standard and rotating flavors like blueberry lemonade sorbetto, sour cherry marscapone, or almond mocha chip. My best tip is to try a few samples if you're indecisive and get a small cup that you can mix two flavors. Everytime I've gone the flavors never disappoint and the service is friendly. This was my first visit and I elected to write as I feel confident future experiences would be similar. This is Gelati Celesti first location and is located just outside Hilltop across from Chick Fil A. They offer a drive-thru. Parking was adequate during the day. However keep in mind they share the lot with another business. I found the area free of debris. My daughter and I were greeted upon arrival. A sign on the door said mask were required for everyone. I did not feel comfortable complying with a mark mandate and nothing was said upon entering. The place is bright and clean with an attractive decor of ice-cream dippers on the wall. They do offer eat in with a few tables, nothing outdoor. The two cases offer over 25 flavors and are labeled with names. Two employees hustled their butt off to handle the crowd inside and also manage the drive-thru. My daughter requested samples which they happily obliged. What shocked me were samples on miniature metal spoons. WOW! First time I have ever received a sample on a real spoon. My daughter decided on a chocolate variety in a cup. I decided on a coffee type shake. The young woman who assisted us was fantastic and smiled through her mask. Checkout is up front. Tips are cash only. It's not cheap, so be prepared to pay a quality price. My daughter and I hung out at a table and really enjoyed our treats. If there was a disappointment it was the tiny straws which offered a challenge to drink my shake. I mentioned this and the staff said the larger straws have not been available. We trekked all the way out to that side of VAB to check out the grand opening of a neighboring business across the street, but when we arrived, the shop had unexpectedly closed early due to high demand. They seem to have permanent choices and a the handwritten placards must be flavors that change weekly/periodically? - The Scoop - Kids got the Salted Caramel and Birthday Cake. Husband got the Pumpkin Gingersnap & Chocolate Peanut Butter and I got the Coffee & Cream. Their ice cream is just sooooooo creamy! I mean, just look at my pic of the ice cream pull. It. Was. Amazing! - Things to note - *They have a drive-thru window! * They have merch for sale. *Thirsty? The water tap is located on the merch wall. * They have a fridge with to-go items. *Location is super busy. It was 8:30 at night and there was a steady flow of people going in and out. Not ideal for social distancing, so again, they have a drive-thru window! I ordered an Oreo Milkshake, and my sister got a Vanilla Chip milkshake. They came out quick, with big straws perfect for sipping. We sat by the wall of ice cream scoops, and had some of the best milkshakes ever! Their shakes are simple compared to crazy places like Sweet Spot, but they are oh so good. We tried each other's shakes - not sure which I liked more!! But they are the real deal. My shake had nice chunks of chocolate cream cookies, and hers lots of chocolate chips. Wow!! This place is amazing!! I actually had this place bookmarked but had the opportunity to attend a Yelp Event so I gladly took up that offer. Let's just say I have been back 3 times since the event. This is some of the best gelato I've had in the area. It is smooth, creamy, and oh so flavorful! I've only tried two flavors because I can't seem to try anything else when I go. That pumpkin ginger snap ice is to die for! I also has the birthday cake which was really good but I've gotten the pumpkin each time I went. I cannot rave enough about it! The place is really clean. Our family loves this place. Every year we go for Jaw some flavor for Shark Week with our great grandson. This year after several visits to the Town Center location, and being told this is only available during Shark Week, which started 7/20-7/27/2025, we were told they were out on 7/19/2-25. There was a young lady working who said this is still being served at the other store where she usually works. We visited that store on 7/20/2025, and this same young lady advised us that this ran around 7/6/2023. I had to explain to a nine year old, special needs child that we missed his favorite Shark Week tradition. He was so disappointed that he wouldn't take anything. It's bad enough that your employees gave us several answers about when this flavor would be available, and what is supposed to be available during Shark Week is not. Let me tell you TOP KNOTCH , not only oreo bits, they add WHOLE OREO'S. So GOOD!!! They have really won my heart for Valentine's Day. I was looking for my husbands favorite. I first visited Gelati Celesti on opening day when they were offering free scoops and have returned every few weeks all summer long. I live dangerously close and visit the shopping center frequently for other errands. They have been open late which has been perfect for adding dessert to my evening on my way home. They have a huge variety of flavors satisfying every type of ice cream lover. I enjoy coming in when they have unique limited time offerings like mexican street corn. However most everyone I have visited with keeps it a little more traditional. The ice cream is oh so creamy and absolutely some of the best you can find in Virginia Beach. I really don't have anything negative to say about variety or flavor. They have been popular this summer, but the staff always moves the line along quickly. (Yes, you can try samples to help you choose from their massive selection.) Don't be discouraged if you see a line or have a hard time finding parking in the lot they share with the restaurant. Just park around the corner, the wait won't be as bad as you think. The location is small, but they made efficient use of the space to maximize seating and have two benches outside. I still typically take my ice cream to go.
