Love this place and the ice cream is amazing. The staff is just so friendly and welcoming. We took advantage of their buy 2 pints, get a free scoop. Who doesn't love free ice cream?!! My free scoop was brown sugar butter pecan and my Friend chose Ube. Perfect afternoon treats and such an inviting and brightly decorated place to sit and enjoy our ice cream. My take home pints were Birthday Cake and Banana pudding. Of course my Friends choice for both pints was Ube. As someone who loves ice cream, I can't wait to go back and try new flavors.

I finally stopped by this Quaint local ice cream shop. Staff was extremely friendly and patient as this was my first time. I was allowed to try many samples. The ice cream here is fresh and flavorful. No freezer/frost burn. Creamy and fresh ingredients. My favorite was the matcha berry and ube. Stop in and try flavors you wouldn't normally try. You may be pleasantly surprised!

Sundae scoop is the best ice cream in the area... I SAID WHAT I SAID! lol the amount of times Ive put people on to this place or bring it up in conversation when someone mentions some other place to me. I had a friend who could not find an ice cream spot she liked and I told her it's cause she hadn't tried sundae scoop, now they go without telling me. I love that the ice cream is not overly sweet, you can enjoy it and not feel like you've had this massive sugar rush. Plus their flavor selection is just always great. They had a blueberry cheesecake and red velvet on rotation once.... SOOOO GOOD. Anyway top in the area in my opinion. Plus the staff if always pleasant and the owner is as well. There was a young lady there who served my dad once and a year later remembered his order, I mean come on, you cant beat that kind of service!!!

Loved the unique flavors. My bf loved the ube and wants to come again. The birthday cake was so tasty and the waffle cone had a great crunch. The young lady in front was patient with us and gave us plenty of samples. Clean interior and I liked the wall mural.

This is my second time here, and the ice cream is excellent each time! They have all sorts of different flavors that you won't find at other places (like ube). The staff is very friendly and gives free samples. There are two long tables to sit at indoors and two small tables outside. This place is a great, local, veteran owned ice cream spot!

Such a cute ice cream shop! My best friend has been telling me to come for years and we finally tried it. Love the aesthetics and the homemade ice cream. We ordered the flight because we wanted to try multiple flavors. Highly recommend! I ordered the strawberry, vanilla, Cookie Monster and Salted caramel butter pecan (my fav) and omg, delish. It was nice to able to share and try four different flavors. They have a couple of different options but the ice cream scoop with nachos is perfect for kids and there's less chance of a mess. I'm so glad we were about to give them a try. We loved that it was creamy and not too sweet. Perfect balance. We had a large party and the staff were all also very kind and patient.

Wow what an establishment. Staff was very helpful and kind, giving excellent flavor recommendations. Also aux is peak.

    So creative lol

As a dairy intolerant sweet tooth girl, I 100% approve this place for amazing, creamy vegan options and a vegan waffle cone! I didn't realize they had so many options. The day I went they were heavily advertising their sorbets on their flavor board as the dairy free options. I tried one but I wasn't feeling it. I really wanted something creamy... and I got exactly what I wished for. The person working brought out the goods once I told her that I'm dairy free. She said, "oh we have chocolate and butter pecan"... I said I want both! lol. Then, I was amazed that she offered to make me a vegan waffle cone!!!! Because wow! I wasn't expecting that. I ended up getting a vegan waffle bowl. It was lovely to watch the process of my waffle bowl being made. I got 0 toppings because I didn't want any. But I loved my vegan waffle bowl so much that I crumbled it on top of my scoops! The scoops are huge... so generous... and I hope that never changes. lol. My vegan choices were super creamy and you couldn't even tell you were eating dairy free ice cream because the texture was very similar to regular ice cream. Trust me, I've had my fair share of vegan ice creams and they don't always impress like Sundae Scoop did during my visit!!! Additionally, the vibes in here are absolutely my style. The artwork is exactly what I'd be hanging up in my home. It's the Tupac portrait for me. I've been raving about this place on my food blog on IG and to everyone I've been talking to lately. You've definitely got to visit soon. :)

It has been over a year since Sophia and I stopped by. The previous visits have been really good with ice cream made just right. Since we were in the area, it made sense to catch up and see how things were going. When we walked in, it wasn't a lot of foot traffic. And the decor was kept neat and clean. Even though there weren't a lot of customers, the staff seemed ready to serve. I chose a single scoop of salted caramel butter pecan in a waffle cone. Very good stuff. The ice cream itself wasn't overly sweet. The cone was a little hard, but good enough to digest. Sophia had ube ice cream in a cone and enjoyed her selection. Once again, another great visit. I do wish they were close by, but nonetheless left satisfied. Till next time :)

Hands down my favorite ice cream shop in the area. I don't know which is better, the flavors or the atmosphere. Philip and the family that own the shop are amazing. Great story. The staff reminds me of a time long ago where teenagers worked in businesses like this and provided amazing service. You can tell they really enjoy being there. I love supporting black veteran-owned businesses. The fact that they rotate their flavors and never seem to come up with a bad idea is key. I love trying new things but also love going with my favorites. If I could recommend anything would be the mystery bag. Six scoops at an amazing price and it gives you a chance to try something that maybe you wouldn't at first glance. I hope they keep up the great work and keep coming out with amazing flavors.

I love this place! I've been 3x with my son once, both kiddos and with extended family. The owners are awesome and very friendly. The ice cream is superb! The incident is clean, beautiful and engaging. The options to choose from rotate and all of them are great! I make the drive from the Haygood area deep into Kempsville to grab a seat. Listen to some music and enjoy ice cream. Got gift cards for my employees and they love it too!!

ahh refreshing where have I been? the samples as a newbie were great. I absolutely loved the pistachio and cookies and cream flavors on my waffle cone...in LOVE Already. I didn't know this place existed and they've been open since 2021. If you never been here check them out you will not be disappointed!!

I had the UBE and it was some of the best I've had in this area. They use real ube not the powder. I tried a couple unique flavors they have and those were also so so good, it was such a hard choice. They use metal spoons for taste testing which I really appreciated.

Tropical to sugary flavors; Dragon fruit to bubble gum. My personal favorite is the Float On which is root beer float inspired with vanilla icecream and it's seriously amazing. They put vanilla ice cream in the middle, shaved ice packed with flavor, and then top it with their house-made whipped cream. It just makes it perfect. The ice cream is delicious, the syrups are flavorful, and you can tell everything is made with care. As far as seating, it's a small spot. Inside where you order, there's only a tiny bit of seating so it's not really somewhere you go to sit for a long time. Most people order at the walk-up window and wait for their name to be called. They do have picnic tables outside if you want to sit out on a nice sunny day. And right beside it, there's an attached space with additional seating if you want to be somewhere a little more covered or out of the weather. It's perfect in the summer, but I also love that they stay open in the winter. They usually do buy-one-get-one free Fridays during the winter, which is such a nice bonus. And the customer service is always really good too friendly and welcoming every time I go. Definitely recommend if you're in Virginia Beach and craving something sweet and refreshing!

I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.
