    | The Barn Ice Cream Shop Such a cute little spot! The Barn Ice Cream Shop is small, but don't let the size fool you--the ice cream selection is great. Not a huge variety, but every flavor I sampled was super tasty, and I ended up going with the Oatmeal Cream Pie ice cream... 10/10 recommend! Rich, flavorful, and exactly what I needed on a hot day. They also had some desserts like brownies, cookies, cakes, and pies. I don't believe those are made in-house, and while they looked good, the prices felt a bit high for me--just being honest. I stuck with the ice cream, which was definitely the right call. The staff was very sweet and welcoming. The girls working there greeted me and my friends right away and let us sample a few flavors before we made our choices. You can tell they care about creating a good experience. Outside, they've got a super charming seating area--Adirondack chairs, little tables, and even outdoor games to keep you entertained while you enjoy your treats. It was a bit too hot for us to stay and hang out, so we took our scoops to go, but I would absolutely come back again. Bonus points--they offer pup cups! So yes, The Barn is bougie-dog-approved.

Lots of dessert options. We loved the ice cream and service was great. After, you can eat in the back where there are picnic tables, corn hole boards and other seating areas.

We love it here! The ice cream, the cute atmosphere, the friendly people that work here. It is all an amazing experience from beginning to end. Tonight we stopped in and ended up meeting one of the owners. Super nice guy. Had a brownie Sunday with vanilla bean ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream. I am thankful to have this hidden gem in our neighborhood.

I love Get Lost it's such a good sweet treat spot…read more Their Hawaiian shave ice is SO good and they have a ton of flavors to choose from. Tropical to sugary flavors; Dragon fruit to bubble gum. My personal favorite is the Float On which is root beer float inspired with vanilla icecream and it's seriously amazing. They put vanilla ice cream in the middle, shaved ice packed with flavor, and then top it with their house-made whipped cream. It just makes it perfect. The ice cream is delicious, the syrups are flavorful, and you can tell everything is made with care. As far as seating, it's a small spot. Inside where you order, there's only a tiny bit of seating so it's not really somewhere you go to sit for a long time. Most people order at the walk-up window and wait for their name to be called. They do have picnic tables outside if you want to sit out on a nice sunny day. And right beside it, there's an attached space with additional seating if you want to be somewhere a little more covered or out of the weather. It's perfect in the summer, but I also love that they stay open in the winter. They usually do buy-one-get-one free Fridays during the winter, which is such a nice bonus. And the customer service is always really good too friendly and welcoming every time I go. Definitely recommend if you're in Virginia Beach and craving something sweet and refreshing!

Their indoor seating is a separate building to the side and is heated and very aesthetically decorated, but it is a bit awk if more than one party is inside at a time. The staff is helpful and nice! I do think that their prices are quite steep for ice cream but at the same time I think it's worth it bc it's really good

I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.

We arrived within 10 minutes from leaving the restaurant and the parking lot was pretty much empty even though we visited during Friday in January I didn't expect it to be too busy but not a single car in a parking lot was definitely unexpected, we should have left... Nevertheless, we walked up to the service window the service was pretty quick and straight to the point the ambience not much going on ... This is mainly an outdoor Eatery as a result due to the cold temperatures around 30° we were not going to sit outside to enjoy the ambience but it seems like it's a cute atmosphere when the weather is permitting. Overall our visit was just blah. I had the mint chip ice cream my daughter had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles and my husband the chocolate milkshake and we all were disappointed I guess we've tried other ice cream parlors and based on this location and reviews our expectations were a bit higher and we were all disappointed. Nevertheless I will more than likely stick to what we know but you can definitely try at your own risk again looking at some of the reviews some people do enjoy coming here but have fun and enjoy life
