I ordered an ice cream cake for a birthday. Basic cake, chocolate outside and sprinkles around the bottom. The cake was terrible. The most unprofessional cake I've ever seen sold at a store. There were holes through the outside layer so you could see the ice cream inside. The cake was uneven and not sitting flat on the base. The sprinkle layer was uneven. Inside was just as bad. Cake layer was wavy. Mid layer ganache was missing entirely. I called the store multiple times asking for the owner to contact me. I sent him two emails with pictures of the cake. No response for three days so I sent a complaint to their corporate website and wow! Finally got a response. Andreas, the owner, basically said that I shouldn't have expected anything more since the cake was made by 16-18 year old kids and they are not professionals. He then proceeded to offer me a coupon for a future cake order but only if I printed out the email and gave it to the cashier at time of purchase........ What in the world?!?! His website mentions that Cold Stone provides catering for weddings and other events. Buyer beware- do not expect professionally made cakes! Literally go anywhere else for a cake. read more

Being in Arizona where the weather is 110 degrees or hotter for a good portion of the year (at least this year), it's always nice to have a place nearby with tasty ice cream. As an Arizona-based ice cream restaurant, I have come to expect reliable service and yes, consistently tasty ice cream products. I have placed orders at this Cold Stone Creamery location over the years in-person and through Uber Eats. When I go in-person, half the time there is a long line (depending on the day of week and time of day) and the other half of the time, there is no one in line. When I ordered ice cream through Uber Eats, I was able to skip the line if I ordered it for pickup, and if I ordered delivery, the line and waiting in person wasn't even a factor. My wife and I both love the Oreo Overload creation. Mine will have the traditional sweet cream ice cream while my wife's changes the base to chocolate ice cream. We used to also regularly get the Chocolate Devotion creation though changed it to Oreo Overload over the last few years. We really enjoy the mini chocolate chips. One time they ran out, and we got full size chocolate chips instead but that wasn't the same. We also really when the employees make a bit too much ice cream and they put the extra in a small cup for us. Yum! We have also enjoyed being a part of the My Cold Stone Club Rewards program which can be tied to an e-mail or phone number. For every 50 points earned (usually a point per dollar spent), you earn $5 off your next purchase. You also receive a Buy One Get One Free coupon for your birthday (which works great on the Gotta Love It size, which makes for multiple servings each). There are also double point promotions and other $3 or $5 coupons sent randomly. Cold Stone Creamery also had a gift card promotion for Black Friday this year where you would receive a $15 bonus eCard for every $50 in gift cards purchased on their website. While I have enjoyed the ice cream and the service at this Cold Stone Creamery location, I do so miss the days when the employees would sing a song when you leave a tip. My family (myself, husband, two young kids, and my parents) stopped in after having sushi next door. The two high-school aged boys/young men that were working were so incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. Hats off to the parents of one of them, named Sterling. He was just great. Yum! I love coming here when I am in town visiting family. It is such a nice treat! We came in last night and were greeted right away and were helped immediately. I am so sad that we can't sample anymore, but I understand. Jacob and Charisma were so nice and helped us quickly. They both had masks on and were wearing them properly. I love that they have a freezer filled with ready to go cakes, cookie sandwiches and packed quarts. The rack of birthday candles is so convenient too. The store was clean and so were the tables. This is my favorite Cold Stone close to my place. The staff is super friendly and extremely accommodating. They give liberal free samples to taste when you're not sure how much you want to walk on the wild side. It's always clean and has a welcoming vibe. My kids and I love the little flourishes they do when they mix the ice cream. It doesn't hurt that this is the best ice cream out there! We absolutely love that they still sing with the tip jar. If you haven't been here in awhile I strongly recommend giving it another chance, the new ownership has really done a great job embracing everything a Cold Stone should be. read more

On May 23rd 2022 Monday 11:00 AM I did something highly unusual. I was craving ice cream. A large cup of mint ice cream and I went to my favorite ice cream shop by my house off Tatum Blvd called Cold Stone Creamery. When I walked in at 11 AM when they opened I noticed no ice cream was in the counter at all. The place looked like it was in shambles and one employee was behind the counter by herself. She looked agitated that I got there when they opened at 11 AM. The window sign including their website clearly says that's the normal hours of operation. She said what kind of ice cream do you want ? As you can see I'm not prepared yet to serve customers in a very curt way. I said yikes did I come in at the bad time ? I said I've worked in the grocery industry for 13 + years. Typically we have employees come in a minimal of two hours before they open so they're prepared. When I said that she says I'm sorry you feel I'm doing a shitty job !! To be honest you're lucky we are even open !! She said go find me some employees and then will accommodate what you need by being readily available at 11 AM when we're open !!! I was mind blown getting spoken to this way from someone behind the desk who works there.  She angrily rang me up. I said I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to upset you I'm just stating the obvious from my observations. She says in an angry voice It'll be $11 and something cents. I said are you kidding me for a large ice cream $11ish ?? She said nope it's $7.48 She said you're more than welcome to sit outside but we're closed !!! Even though it was already after 11 AM and clearly they're supposed to be open. Never in my life have I been verbally abused by an employee of any establishment. So today I called them to file a complaint about the customer getting verbally abused and guess who picked up the phone ?? The owner of the establishment. We have a kind of love/hate relationship with Cold Stone Creamery. We love the ice cream, but we hate the calories in the ice cream (well. mostly the carbs, lol). I also happen to think it is ridiculously over priced. Well, honestly I would never suggest to come here (just for the carbs) but we end up here once in a while because mostly everyone else in the family is not carb conscious and a big fan of Cold Stone. They are usually friendly and have good customer service, the only thing is that sometimes they are very inconsistent with the ice cream portions. If I am disregarding the diet and going for some ice cram, it better overflows from the cup. Lol. I think over the years their rewards program has been kind of iffy, they had a good system with the cards and then they changed it and now I never know what they are up to. But every year or 2 I get a free ice cream reward. As I say, we do not come here that often. But if you do (and even if you don't), still go for the rewards, you may get a good surprise here and there). read more

So I order 2 Got to Have It Size cups, as the two girls are mixing them I say to the girl mixing mine wow is that the "GHI" size both girls look at each other and laugh like I'm a jerk for wanting what I ordered and later paid for. I walk to the register and she says sorry I should have added more I am new and learning the sizes.. I calmly said if you should have you could have. As I look at the screen she charged me for the large size after admitting she was not giving me the large size. I have never before not tipped but this time not only did I not tip but rejoiced in hitting ZERO on that screen. Completely unprofessional that they found it amusing to not give me what I ordered but proceeded to charge me for the larger size admitting it was not sufficient. Hey McDonald's fry's are not 1/3 the price but if you order large and get the box but it only has the small bag amount in it you would notice. Pathetic customer service and bordering on fraud to knowingly serve one size and charge for a larger. Walked in around 8:45pm with a few of my cousins. A male teenager helped the first few of us and then a female teenager walked up and said "who's next?" in sort of a harsh tone. I let it slide, because I'm sure I wouldn't have the best attitude working their either. We pay and go to sit outside at one of their tables. My cousins and I were talking for about 25 minutes when the female worker comes out and says "sorry to bother you, but I need to bring this table inside". I would like to point out that she had kicked us out at 9:20 (we checked the time!). The store didn't even close for another 40 minutes and it wasn't like we were inside either and they needed to mop or something. So my cousins and I stood by our cars to talk for a bit longer. The female worker brought the table inside and stacked all of the chairs. 40 minutes before closing time. We weren't super happy. And then around 9:50, a group of girls came to the store and were turned down by the workers. Just seems like once it hits an hour before closing, these workers just check out. You could tell they were closing down the store early so they could leave right at 10. Super annoying. Overall, the ice cream was good (as always with Coldstone), but I was highly annoyed with the way we were treated at this store. read more

I can taste the preservative, sort of a light metallic taste most can't taste, it is subtle. Marble slab was all natural and flavor wise superior to this hack ice cream place. They should look for another brand to serve there. Haggan-daz would be an improvement. But this is supposed to be hand crafted. A new recipe would be beneficial with no preservatives. read more

Went in last night to get some ice cream for my family and the staff were great. The thing that bothered me was that one of the staff was wearing his mask with his nose hanging out which pretty much makes wearing the mask pointless. Throw in a guy in line in front of me who had no mask on leaning over the counter and placing his order with no problem makes me not want to go back anytime soon. There are signs on the door saying masks are required so am not sure why the staff just didn't tell him that they could not help him since he wasn't following the requirement. I know it can be uncomfortable to speak out but the rest of us in line who are following the requirement don't feel safe when people decide their own selfishness is more important than all of our well being. read more

So Jessica ( I hope that was her name) was amazing. She had great customer service, friendly, personable, and kind. I had been running around trying to find a decent sized icecream cake for a going away party for a friend last minute. Not only was she very helpful she even drew on the cake and wrote some stuff in icing for me. How cool is that?! I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to find someone to do it last minute and so quickly too. I was in and out in no more than 10-15 minutes. We ordered a "love it" (medium). Two mixins. It was way below the top of the container. The ice cream was extremely soft and melted. The total was $7.21 plus a $1.00 tip $8.21. Not being picky just cumulatively it was poor quality and service. I always leave a tip because young people should know grace and be rewarded for a good attitude and good customer service. In this case the young girl seemed bothered and couldn't get rid of me and my small ice cream fast enough. I hoped that she would regret the way she served me after still receiving a tip. I was here a few days ago, And had an amazing experience! The workers are very quick, and knowledgeable. The girl was incredibly friendly, and full of spirit. While the boy was very helpful! I didn't really know what I wanted, since I never go here. so the man asked about my usual go-to's, and based off that, he recommended me an ice cream that I was very happy with! an that I would have never got (: I wasnt able to catch their names sadly... but the girl had long wavy hair and the guy was tall and had a bunch of tattoos on his arm.
