It is extremely hard to find a shave ice that matches the smoothness and flavor of a shave ice you might find in Hawaii. This is the place I have been looking for! There are endless flavor options. The price might seem a little much for a snow cone but I can attest to the fact that the portions are consistent with the price. I visited this location twice while in Scottsdale and wished I had stopped once more before I left. My sister commented that someone should franchise this business back where we live. The service was fast and friendly. I can't speak to the ambiance because I used the drive through both times, but I see that as a bonus because I didn't have to get out and stand around in a parking lot to get a snow cone. Had I wrote this review a year ago (which I totally meant to do ) I would have said how awesome it is , the customer service , and the ice itself . Unfortunately it has really been going down the past few weeks - months and they no longer have consistency or even follow their menu . I've had a lot of dental work recently so been ordering here at least once a week, most of the time through Door Dash . Per their menu you have to choose a flat top for delivery orders (instead of their regular high top ), but to adjust for the difference they place in the next size up to make sure you get the same amount . The past 4 deliveries I've had the shaved ice delivered, all of them were in the wrong size cup (was supposed to be in large cup since I ordered medium ) , and the toppings which you pay at least $1.25 for and their menu states "layered and then topped with topping of your choice".. as you can see in the picture there is very little topping and there was definitely no layers . For $1.25 for popping rocks you can put a whole can in there , why skimp and lose customers for such a cheap and easy thing ? It's already tough to justify $9 for a thing of flavored ice , but then to have 2 areas not even meeting their menu description is frustrating . Horrible experience with a Drive Thru employee. Our last shaved ice was ready to be given to us but instead continued to take an order. After minutes, I knocked on the window and told her we have a newborn that is crying and if the shaved ice next to her was ours. After looking at the newborn (our windows were down) , without hesitation or questioning, she shut the door and continued taking the order. While continuing to wait, we questioned if we should leave. During the next minute, I took this picture of her and she handed us our shaved ice and when asked for her name, she shut the window door. While Bahama bucks isn't our favorite shaved ice in the valley, this location is a great option for a treat to cool you down! Not only is the interior super cute and clean, they even have a drive thru.. score. They have smoothies, sodas, lemonade and limeade in addition to shaved ice. I'm not a huge ice person but one of their smoothies caught my eye: the kokomoko. Dark chocolate, cola, and mocha java flavor take over this one. I got a small and it was still big.. I couldn't finish it. The cola added a nice layer to the chocolatey goodness. I'm not sure I would ever crave it but it was pretty darn good. My girlfriend got a small shaved ice with apple and mango flavors. She said it was pretty good, they just go heavy on the flavoring so it's super sweet. If you like a little less I am sure you can ask that they go easy on the syrup. The server was super nice and pretty quick. They walked us through the menu and their offering since it was our first time visiting. The tables inside were clean and the vibe is very much islandy. Omggggg sooooo good! I can't believe this was my first time trying this place. The texture of the ice was sooo good and nothing I'd ever tasted before. I got gummy bear and and jolly rancher flavor. If you're a skeptic about shaved ice like I was (it's just ice with flavored syrup on it... how good could it be?) you should reconsider. I got the dreamer BRM - dreamsicle sno with tropic creme and vanilla ice cream - and it felt like I was able to enjoy a snow cone and a milkshake in the same cup. The texture of the ice at the top is so good and once I hit the ice cream level, I mixed everything together and got a dreamsicle milkshake! Loved it and will be going back. By then almost 10 cars have piled up behind me one even flashing their high beams because of how long it was taking. When I ordered, she asked me if I wanted a flat top and I told her no I wanted it normal when she finally handed it to me not only was it a flat top, but when I asked for extra sour patch sauce, it looked like there was less than normal, and it was melted!! I didn't say anything as it had already taken so long to get my first one. Considering there were only two people inside the place ordering, the service should have not been this slow and bad. They have so many flavor options to pick from as well as sizes! They have shakes, smoothies, sodas, and "lattes"! My husband loves their strawberry banana calypso smoothie and I'm a mix between the regular shaved ice, piña colada, and their Island Mocha! Something most people don't know is that they have card games, board games, and a game outside to play! We always go for connect four or jenga! The staff here is super friendly and patient and will be more then happy to help you with your order. Their dining areas are clean and so are the bathrooms! I was delighted to see this location pop up a block from our home. I loved it back in the East Valley over 20 years ago in high school and was excited to share the experience with my new family. We've purchased probably 15 Bahama Mama's since I found this place about 6 months ago. I will come back and buy dozens more for years as my family of 5 loves riding our bikes to get a quick treat, so long as I feel cared for and am treated right. During this Pandemic, I am very selective as to where I am willing to go based on safety. I am absolutely delighted that I was considered by Bahama Bucks as important enough that they would prioritize wearing a mask so that I could be served as safely as possible. Note that because I feel cared for, it is the only reason aside from a fabulous dessert, that I will whole heartedly return. Thank you, Manager Kevin, for kindly and promptly, addressing my concern. We ordered Bahama bucks tonight 9/21/24. I asked for no ice cream and they put ice cream in it so I sent it back to be fixed. They fixed it but it basically had no syrup in it at all. My daughter ordered one and complained that it didn't have enough syrup so sent it back. When she got to the bottom of hers it tasted like soap and now she has a stomach ache. I pray that they did not put soap in it because we complained. I realize you're short staffed but this is ridicules. You pay a lot of money for this stuff. read more

Every time I come to this location I order the same thing, tropical blue coconut with tropical cream and vanilla ice cream at the bottom. And every single time I have to ask them to remake it because I only get flavoring on the very top and the rest is all ice with barely any ice cream at the bottom. It's starting to become really annoying too and I don't think I'll ever come back here. And by the looks of the reviews a lot of people have the same problem, so they know that this problem is happening and they are still doing the same thing over and over again. How have I never heard of this chain before?! Bahama Bucks has apparently been in the valley longer than I've lived here. And being from Tucson, I totally appreciate shaved ice drinks. Plenty of Phoenicians know about Eggee's from the Old Pueblo. But that's like comparing apples to oranges. Bahama Bucks doesn't serve sandwiches. But they do serve a dizzying array of ice cold drinks featuring everything from coffee to sour sprinkles. The menu looks like it has hundreds of flavors. And that's just the shaved ice! There are literally too many possible drink options to try to explain here. Suffice it to say, you could visit a Bahama Bucks three times a day for an entire summer and enjoy a different drink every time and not come close to tasting everything they offer. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed their equivalent of a root beer float. Yes, shaved ice drinks can be creamy. They can also be incredibly sour. My company had a drink that tasted like concentrated sour patch kids. The menu is pretty original. And you gotta love the little umbrellas! Bahama Bucks is fortunate we live in Arizona.
