I had an ample scoop of black cherry. There were two tables in the store and we enjoyed the ice cream and nostalgia. As kids, going to Thrifty Drug Store was a treat, mainly because of the ice cream. I decided to support a small business instead of a chain store and I spent over $100 on 4 new ones. They immediately leaked while on a jug holder with a slant. I had puddles all over the floor. I thought it was just the lids so I went back to get new ones and ask what I should do. I was told to take a video if the new lids didn't work. 4 visits, several phone calls and texts (directly to staff, not the actual store), being accused of laying bottles down the wrong way when my videos clearly show they were not and I FINALLY got a refund over a month later. The owner "Mr. Kim" is extremely difficult to work with. You can't reach him directly and apparently doesn't even live in AZ so I was asked to wait until he was physically back in town to deal with this. The website and email are a scam. He never contacted me directly. Initially, I didn't even want a refund; I wanted to fix the issue and ensure they were aware the products leaked when used as intended (he sells similar stands in the store) but it became abundantly clear the unavailable owner does not care or appreciate customer loyalty!! There was never an apology or a bit of concern from the owner for the inconvenience of multiple trips to try to make contact with him. We've spent thousands here over the last 5 years for alkaline refills at home and for a family business but we will never return after being treated this way. Buyer beware!

The owner assisted me, he also suggested I rinse out my jugs since they had a little water left in them. He took the time to explain that rinsing them out is better so that we can reduce the chance of bacteria. I keep my bottles in my carport so that is very helpful. Then, he explained what can happen to a bottle in the heat. I had one twist lid and one slide on lid bottle. I prefer the twist lids, but bottles aren't cheap so we've got to do what we can to re use them as long as we can. There have been updates inside. There are more ice freezers and more shelves with things you may need when you swing by your local water & ice location. Swing by this one, they're always welcoming and willing to assist you.
