I came to Colada Shop after a friend recommended it to me. They partner with inKind, and I had a $25 credit to use. The colors on the outside immediately caught my attention, and inside is just as vibrant. I was thrown off at first because there is no check-in process, and the bar area was pretty packed to be right by the front door. I eventually saw the sign about seating yourself and proceeded to an empty booth. Since I was using inKind, the bartender informed me I had to order at the register to have the receipt generated. The staff here are very warm and helpful, especially for being busy. Their happy hour runs from 4-8 daily and consists of $8 cocktails. I ordered the Pitaya Daiquiri and Cuban Street Platter. The daiquiri was enjoyable, and a flavor I hadn't tried before in a drink. With the platter, you have multiple empanada and croqueta options to choose from. I enjoyed the chicken salad dip with the plantain strips. I wished they marked each empanada, so you didn't have to bite into or break them open to see. While flaky and moderately stuffed, they lacked a crispness I was expecting. I would come back for drinks and maybe a dessert.

EMPANADAS DUO -- Spinach (excellent) and chicken (fabulous!)

OUTSTANDING Cuban sandwiches and empanadas! Perfect balance of meat/cheese/condiments -- super fresh! We are regulars in Key West and Colada Shop's Cubans rival their best!

Everything was incredible. Service was great. We sat at the bar and ordered 3 things to share. The Pina Coladas were also excellent. I would return immediately and have it all again! Loved the cubano, chicken wrap, and Havana Cesar salad.

Absolutely amazing happy hour that runs till 8pm daily. We sat at the bar, but you're able to order at the front kiosk or via a QR code on each of the tables. Highly recommend frozen drinks which were the apple daiquiri and pina colada when we were there. The plantain nachos and guava bbq pork sliders were also stars of our meals. Highly recommend them both if you're looking for a nice bite before getting your night started.

Haven't been to the Colada Shop in a couple of years ironically. My birthday discount inspired me to pop in. I came during breakfast hours and ordered the bacon egg and cheese and spinach and cheese empanada. I also got a coquito shot and a hot pineapple cider drink. It wasn't busy at all so the drinks and food came out pretty quickly. The place was festivally decorated for the holiday. As I sat, more people started to enter and the place became pretty lively. Not much has changed over the years except for the increase in pricing which is now common everywhere.

Sooo happy my friends and I tried this place out for happy hour! And speaking of- they have awesome happy hour deals. We each got a fun beverage and an appetizer or two - it was all great, fresh, flavorful!! I loved the Yuca. Service is a little hard to comment on- we ordered by QR code on our table and it was just dropped off when it was ready! The ambiance is very cute (see all of the Yelp photos) and photo worthy. Check this place out!

Back again for another festive holiday hang! The empanadas are still just as amazing and the plantain nachos were also delish! The hot chocolate was a MUST. Great service and vibes too!

The Cafe Con Leche in the mornings, the Santiago Bowls for lunch, and the Old Fashioned for happy hour. Its an all day affair. Plus fast wifi, great atmosphere, tunes, attentive staff, and decor.

The staff is friendly Tips 1) They are located around the corner and in the cut. 2) the espresso is good. 3) Tesla charging across the street on the top floor of the Garrage.

Nice coffee shop tucked away next to Tatte. The food was yummy; I got the empanadas duo which was very good; I got the spinach and cheese. The Mariposa Blue Matcha latte was really way too hot and sweet- it had too much sugar/syrup- I couldn't finish it.

I love me some Colada Shop. All locations! This is their newest location in Virginia nuzzled in the National Landing area. My go to is always the empanadas. Especially, in the summer when they have their summer corn flavor. If you have not tried this flavor run don't walk and go try it! They also have yummy drinks like coffee and alcoholic beverages. The staff is always super sweet and accommodating. Colada Shop is definitely one of my favorite spots in the DMV for quick eats!

VEGGIE CUBAN and yucca fries

I ate at this Cuban restaurant one evening with my friends while on a girls weekend away. We picked the spot because two of us are vegetarian and they had a few options on the menu. This restaurant you order at the register and then find a seat. You do buss your own plates at the end. This restaurant also has a full bar. I ordered the veggie Cuban sandwich and a side of yucca fries. Both were very delicious. The sandwich itself was gigantic and the yucca fries were big and thick. I shared the fries with a friend both of my friends very much. Enjoyed their food as well. I would highly recommend if you're in the area.

A beautiful restaurant with a fun vibe. The food and beverages were DELICIOUS. Cannot recommend the blueberry matcha and croquetas enough. I personally would skip the churros next time because they had an odd texture and crumbled. The staff looked miserable but it was a busy day.

This place is perfect to meeting with friends or even a date night. The back or the restaurant is dark, but in a good way. They also had live music Saturday night (not sure if this is every night). It was a good volume, until they went back to the restaurant music and then it got LOUD. Not too bad, just was shocked that it was so loud. For food we started with my fave, miso soup. After that we had the Chirashi. It was a nice assortment and a good start to dinner. Next we did the Dragon Roll, a classic and they didn't disappoint. We had a couple mocktails and drinks and were able to chitchat before trying the Marisol Roll which was amazing! Lastly, we wrapped up the night with the Earl Grey Crème Brûlée, a great sweet treat. On both visits I had the toro tartare on the specials menu and have tried the tequila-based City Runner spicy marg 2x now. There is something for all drinkers though, and lots of food selection. The atmosphere is chill, with great decor and thoughtful lighting and as the name suggests, bartenders always have a record going. The front room is largely the bar with high tops up front. They've put a cozier dining room in the back room. Great spaces for a friend catch-up or date. Since taking over the space from Cava, I also appreciate the bathroom upgrades.

Lots of standing room, limited seating, but the patrons are young, beautiful, and mostly college students from nearby schools. Not my crowd, but met one of my friends here after work in Arlington around 6:30 since the weather was perfect yesterday. We decided to go to my favorite restaurant for a more elevated experience and live music. One day, I'll come back to watch people ride the bull downstairs, which I imagine that to be hilarious and entertaining. The bartender told me the place doesn't come alive until about 9pm, so that's when it's crowded and probably off the chain.

I went for the first time back in October and I had a good time. The drinks were competitively price for Arlington proportions but the food AND cocktail menu are just painfully limited. If you're ordering just standard bar drinks like a domestic draft beer or a shot of tequila you're fine, but a grilled cheese sandwich on the menu? Seriously? The biggest attraction of this bar is the mechanical bull. But the caveat is that you need to get a ticket to ride it which costs $5. Not terrible pricing but considering PBR at Power Plant Live in Baltimore has a mechanical bull (and more space but will get to that in a bit) it feels like a slap in the face. But again it's $5 and I'm going to presume that money goes towards maintenance of the mechanical bull ride anyway. Also depending on what day and time you go be prepared to be packed like sardines. There's three rooms one of which is a dedicated dance floor. And the room farthest from the entrance, about 85% of the room is taken up by the mechanical bull. The first time I went there was no room in the mechanical bull room because they blocked off 5% of it for some group party reservation. We went up to the rooftop which was a bit more spacious but naturally if it's cold outside or raining you're obviously not going up there. Overall, BOE has potential but a limited food menu, and even more limited cocktail menu, and small indoor space makes this an easy bar to skip when there's a line out the door.

For Brunch they serve small plates, so you can try a little bit of everything (which we definitely did ): French toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, a breakfast burrito, chicken & waffles -- all outstanding. And the bacon?! Sweet, savory, honey pepper perfection. Now listen... I don't usually touch corned beef hash, mainly because it reminds me of dog food but theirs completely changed my mind. Tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked with potatoes, eggs, and cheese -- absolutely delicious. The skillet was too. But what really set this place apart was the service. Our server, Kristina, (remembered her name because it's also my best friend's name) was hands-down the best I've ever had. Super attentive, kind, and she even helped us with directions & gave us directions on where to park when we got lost. That level of care is rare. She was nothing short of AMAZING!!!! The vibe is chill and laid-back with music, TVs, and a nice atmosphere. They also have an outdoor area with heat lamps (we'll definitely be back for that when it's warmer). We will 100% be back -- and not just for brunch because the regular menu looked just as good. If you're thinking about going... GO. I promise you wont regret it..

Ordering was almost seamless. We got there at 1 o'clock, middle of the day on 4/18, plenty of empty tables. We went up to the bartender to take our order, and then gave them our table number and they delivered it. The QR code on the table only shows you the menu. It is not used for ordering, which was odd these days. Chill and super awesome bartender with the mother of all hickeys. Good pours. No Skrewball :-( I had the special, two hot dogs with tater tots. When it said double, I wasn't sure if that meant double the tater tots, but that meant actually two hot dogs. Really good. I also had the other special, the two pancakes. I meant to get the sausage, but they gave me the bacon instead. It was great. Well worth it. I thought that was the better value of the meals. They got a lot of board and card games. Very laid-back atmosphere, 90s and early 2000s pop on the music, comfortable seating, and good food. The prices were reasonable. This is one area that I think we are just going to have to deal with for quite some time. The give-and-take of prices,. Smothered tater tots, pancakes, two hotdogs with some tater tots, and three drinks came out to ~$55. NOT. BAD. Was it worth it? If this had been just a normal restaurant, I would've said no. It would've been more worth it if it had been about $40. But... nobody made us pay to use the board games, or the card games, and we sat there for three hours and had a really good time. So based on that, the fact they provide a venue for playing these games and hanging out for a few hours makes it all worth it. Really strange thing was that there was this balding guy with a beard that randomly showed up as a waiter. We had been dealing with a bartender, so this guy, kind of rude came on to us and we weren't sure what to do with him. He kind of blocked me from paying the bartender. Rude. Not a hangout spot every day, but certainly once a week, maybe once a month or more, definitely a place to meet up if you got a group. I was really surprised by the diversity of the people that were there. A lot of chess players, a whole table of middle-aged women, lots of different people playing games. I would give them five stars, but not quite perfect. The rude guy at the end was so odd. Otherwise, great location, great parking, the food was good, good value, and fun.
