One day I had a fruit danish and another day I went with the Caprese danish. They were delectable. Don't order the $2.75/ea donut holes! Far better to order an entire donut that is six times the size for $3.25/ea (or an even bigger croissant for a little more). I love Coffeebar!! If you get there early you can wake up with a very large selection of freshly baked donuts, like maple bars and glazed donuts. But, if you don't want to wake up I early, you can still buy delicious donut holes, croissants, and bread. They also have a very wide range of drinks like hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. (I especially love the seasonal apple cider!) The cashiers are always happy and friendly to us, and the ambiance is fun and lively. They have very nice decor, like a beautiful blue tiger and rolling pins hanging down from the ceiling. I will always recommend this to anyone, and will be coming back!! read more

Have been a fan of Coffeebar for years. Buuuut. They just recently updated their pricing. And I'm sorry it's just too much to me ... $7.50 for a slice of pizza? That's a pass. Still enjoy Coffeebar but as a local, too many places on the mountain are WAY over priced. I enjoy the quality of coffeebars food and beverage. As a local, servers know me and experience is always pleasant. This location on Donner Pass Road is very accessible. I always see a lot of people working on their laptops. Can be pretty busy at peak times. Any time I have meetings during the summer, I always suggest the downtown location. Since I love to sit on the patio when the weather is nice. But this would be a great location to get some work done during the winter. I have a a lot of positives to say. This latest price increase is the only real negative but since the prices were all substantially increased (slice used to be 4.50) it's a pretty big negative for me. They've got ample sweet and savory items ranging from donut holes to croissants as well as sandwiches and baked breads. Absolutely something for anybody. Coffeebar is my go-to bakery & coffee shop in Tahoe! This place has a few windows of congested times, eg an hour before the ski resorts open and around brunch hour. Otherwise, it's pretty nice & quiet and a great place to catch up with a friend or do some quiet work. They have a great coffee selection and I usually order an oat cappuccino or oat chai latte (roobios). Both options are the perfect light sweetness. They have a variety set of baked goods but I loved their vegetarian frittata. I like to order it hot and eat it for breakfast (it's the perfect meal before skiing). The frittata has the best portions of mushroom, egg and spinach providing me a healthy and filling meal. They also have really cute handmade mugs! Check them out. Stopped in here on Sunday 8/3 at 5:30pm and the staff were so, so kind and sweet and absolutely spectacular (hoping your manager sees this for recognition purposes!). Was only there for about 5 minutes waiting for coffees and snacks on our way out of Truckee to go back home, and it was the best coffee shop experience I've had... The service was quick yet they all somehow created such a personal connection and lasting effect in a short amount of time as they wished us safe travels home. Lion Roll You aren't writing that down? I said Lion Roll. L.I.O.N. R.O.L.L. I live in Reno. I love Coffeebar Roastery. We go there at least once a week. We hadn't been to the Coffeebar Bakery even though it had been open for a long time, because it's a pretty good trip up to Truckee from our house south of Reno. But we were on a daytrip and stopped by. And then I recalled someone at coffeebar had mentioned the Lion Roll. So I got it. I got it like an addict takes his very first hit. It's not a synonym roll....it's a Cardamom roll. And it is what baked goods dreams are made of. Light and airy and perfectly balanced chew and crispiness. Yes. I actually dreamed about the Lion Roll, because I can't get it every day. I have to wait and get it as a treat on a weekend or a sneak away during the week. Because, like I said, Truckee is a bit of a drive from home, but now, it's well worth the drive. In fact just today we made a special trip just to pick up two rolls they set aside for us. The rest of the baked goods are good. Their gluten free selections are impossible to tell apart from regular baked goods of the same type. I really love this place...but my health and waistline is glad it's a bit further away than and every day occurance. read more

The gluten free bakery items are delicious, the lattes are consistently great and the customer service has been fantastic. The cashier is very efficient and kind to make tweaks to drink orders (which I'm always a bit embarrassed to give!). Love the foam artistry of barista too. I love coming here on a regular basis. I ordered my latte and then when they called my name I went to get it as usual and asked for a lid because I didn't see the correct lid. When I asked the guy that made my coffee for a lid- he said and I quote with a nasty tone "THEY ARE RIGHT NEXT TO YOU!" Extremely rude and unwarranted. It doesn't cost anything to be kind. It is a pure reflection on this business. We spent $27 for coffee and a sandwich and frittata. I expect to be treated as he would like to be treated . I am very dissatisfied with the service . Little gem of a coffee shop hidden in Truckee. We were at a lacrosse tournament down the road at the high school and decided to take a walk to get something warm to drink. Yelped (of course) and started our walk up the road. As soon as we walked in I was excited to see all the baked goods! My husband just ordered a coffee and I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. I've been coming here for a few months and loved it for the first month or so. Something has turned at this place. The employees do not care. They don't greet you the same anymore, they're wildly slow, and they RARELY empty the dirty dish container or wipe down the tables. The tip of the iceberg, though, was today when we ordered a bagel. It was already taking far too long, but after about ten minutes of waiting, an employee who had just been chatting with another employee in the dining area and touching his face went behind the counter and grabbed a bagel with bare hands. Over 3 visits, I've tried the gf donut holes, coffee cake, and pecan bar. I think the coffee cake is my favorite so far, though everything was truly awesome. My husband (who eats gluten) is a big fan of the cinnamon roll. I wish they made a gf version of that!!! Maybe one day?? Ok I am a sucker for a good pastry. This blueberry scone had it all. The blueberry ratio was fantastic. The icing on top was perfect, not overly sweet just the right amount. Staff couldn't tell what was keto/low carb/gluten free items were, couldn't answer even One question about their offerings. Not to be confused with the Coffeebar downtown which is also solid, Coffeebar Bakery is a cut above the rest and is one of the best morning spots in Truckee. We've been several times and absolutely love their hot chocolate and vanilla lattes. For food, our faves are the made-to-order Croissant Breakfast Sandwich; the fresh-made cinnamon rolls with heaps of cream; and the Breakfast Burrito. All def hit the spot. Limited seating but for a quick in and out, you'll be good to go. Service js quick and everyone is super nice. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but there are just so many issues. Staff seems totally checked out, music is way too loud, unreliable GF bread schedule. The last 2 times I went in, they messed up my friend's order and the staff seemed to think that wearing their pajamas to work is somehow professional. When I sat down to work, the staff was blasting the music so loud (clearly unaware, that there's like customers that they are serving) that I could barely work on my laptop. I visited for the first time Friday and had a disappointing experience. Spent $35 on 2 dirty iced oat milk chai, an egg croissant, muffin and a tip. Seemed pricey to me- but I rationalized that the convenience (and pleasure!) of getting coffees at a location just off the freeway to enjoy during my several hour drive was worth it. It was not. The food was fine. The drinks were bad. Mine tasted like melted ice with a hint of cinnamon. My daughter's had a bit more spice and a bit of sweetener. Neither tasted like chai or coffee. Neither was drinkable. So, normally I would give a business the chance to make it right before leaving a bad review. But I didn't try the coffee until I was already back on the highway and I wasn't going to head back. Not only did I waste my money, we didn't even get our coffee fix. :( read more

Decided to try this location after some good experiences at the midtown location in Reno. Very, very disappointed. No one there seemed to thrilled to be working a Saturday morning. Gal that took our order was blah, not to welcoming and half asleep. Same for the gal making the espresso. Ordered 2 - 8 oz. Lattes in house with one having some raw sugar in cup. Also ordered a breakfast burrito and pumpkin pecan muffin for in house dining. Received muffin in to go box, burrito took forever to be heated and handed out, no plate. And the drinks....o m g. Both served in to go cups. I mentioned to the gal making the drinks that we ordered in house (mugs) and she half heartedly said she could remake them. I declined and asked which had the sugar. She looked at be blankly and said there was no notes on the order for sugar but I could just grab some from behind me and add it? Interesting reaction and suggested fix but no thanks. Beyond that the latte was average at best and same for the food items. We will not be back, to any Coffee Bar location. Plenty of coffee shops who would at least seem happy to have customers come through the doors and much better espresso to be had as well. read more
