    Long long line 8/16/26

If my order had been correct to begin with it would have been 4 stars, but when you merely scrape off the topping that I ordered without, that is completely unacceptable. You have no idea what allergies people may have. ---- so arrived around 10 am on a Sunday to a line out the door, it took about 25 minutes to get to the front. I ordered the breakfast tacos with no pico and no guac repeating that I just wanted the meat cheese and egg, and the woman taking my order repeated it. The receipt reflected the correct order (no pico, extra cheese, etc) Food came out approximately 15 minutes later and I opened the styrofoam box to reveal pico de gallo plopped on top of my two tacos. I immediately told the guy bringing the food out that they weren't supposed to have pico, and he took them back. He then called out the tacos no pico pretty quickly and I took them outside to my table, opened them... seeing cilantro and some onions leftover. So, you just scraped it off? I'm just so shocked at this. I understand it's busy but you cannot cut corners like this. I paid for this meal so it's very confusing. My husband then took them back and brought out the correct tacos. These tacos were good. Pulled pork, eggs, cheese. They didn't skimp on ingredients. The homemade corn tortillas were great. As I said, it would have been 4 stars had they not thought it was appropriate to just scrape it off the top. I DO think it would be worth it to give them another chance, it is clearly a popular place. Dog friendly patio.

    Tree House Burrito ($13)

Not the worst but definitely quite underwhelmed. I had the tree house burrito which comes with a choice of either bacon or sausage, eggs, tater tots, and cheddar cheese. I chose sausage as my meat, and the burrito ended up being 80% egg, 10% sausage, and 10% cheese and tater tot. The flavor is on the bland side and the burrito was also so oily. They give a side of salsa for free but it just tasted like tomato sauce without much flavor. The eggs were at least very fluffy and cooked well. The workers are very friendly here. My food took about 10-15 minutes to come out. The inside of the shop is small but cozy, and they have a few spots outdoor. Also the small beach next door is a nice spot to enjoy your food at. Overall: 2.3/5

    lots of breakfast burritos

Cute little cafe in North Tahoe with great breakfast burritos and decent coffee. Great vibes in there from the staff. My group shared a bunch of burritos - bacon, sausage, tri tip (+$1), and brisket. But my favorite was brisket because it was most flavorful. Tri tip was surprisingly bland. Bacon and sausage were solid. They put yummy tater tots inside that were perfectly cooked - crispy outside fluffy inside. We also got pico de gallo and guacamole on the side. The guac was more citrusy which was perfect to cut through the heaviness of the burritos.

Quite busy on a Saturday brunch. My party of 5 found seating in the backyard patio. We shared 4 burritos: bacon, sausage, brisket, and tri-tip. Our favorite was the brisket. The tri-tip was interesting because it wasn't smoked and didn't have that bbq char taste. It felt like it was boiled and unseasoned. We got guacamole and pico de gallo on the side which was the move because it added more acidity and flavor to the burritos. Also got the hot chocolate which didn't have much chocolate flavor and was very watery/milky.

There was a very long line to this place but went extremely fast. All workers were on it and very kind at the same time which i love! The waffle was really good and my boyfriend enjoyed his plate. Also I ordered a chai latte which was okay but not bad. There are many seats spread in the front of the cafe, inside, and in the back. I loved the decorations too!

When traveling especially in popular tourist places, it's always a toss up between something that is good and overpriced or something not so good and overpriced. Well, at the Tree House Cafe, you can have something good and at a fair price We were visiting Kings Beach for the afternoon on a whim and other than drinks weren't really prepared for lunch. This place's menu looked good plus they had outdoor and patio seating since we had our dog. It was hot out and they allowed well behaved dogs INSIDE with the cooler air. I had the loaded tater tots with creamy Mac and cheese topped with brisket. My son had the tri tip sandwich. The portions were large. I split my tots with my wife and we still had to take some home. My son only finished half. Anytime you order tots, the base has to be crispy with potatoe-y insides. This place delivered on that, plus the mac and cheese added a level of creaminess that paired well with the savory brisket. The brisket was BBQed with out too much sauce, this allowed the smokiness of the meat to come through and not be overwhelmed by the other ingredients. So overall, a winner in my book. I can't honestly say anything about the sandwich because I didn't try any of it. Maybe next time. But if facial reaction counts. My son was smiling .

Staying next door and I've got to say, the coffee and pastries are fantastic. Iced vanilla latte, cinnamon roll, blueberry puff pastry, breakfast burritos, all 10/10. Great morning stop before the beach!

    Coconut matcha, yum!

Shared the breakfast plate with the hubby which came with 3 scrambled eggs, tater tots, sausage and toast. It was an ample serving but the tots were room temp. Also got a spinach croissant which also would have tasted better if it were heated. Enjoyed my coconut matcha.

Nice place we're staying at the motel right behind with less than a minute walk. They have weird hours on Monday so watch out for that pretty friendly service and good coffee and comfortable seating.

Burritos, biscuits & gravy, coffee, sticky bun

Long line expected for a Sunday morning on Labor Day weekend. Inside feels welcoming and cozy. We ordered coffee, burritos, and a pastry. They were out early of their two pumpkin special drinks, but the cinnamon latte and honey & hazelnut cold brew were great. The burritos were ok, but the tater tots made them a bit too greasy; other than that, they tasted good. The biscuits were dry even with all the gravy. Now the sticky bun, that was definitely the highlight. It's got nice caramelized pecans. We were fortunate to get a seat on their back patio, so we were able to try everything there and then.

Solid cup of coffee! I got a hot white mocha on a snowy day and it totally hit the spot. It was not to sweet. Some of the mocha sauce went to the bottom (happens at any shop, no problem) so I stirred the drink. Service was super fast and I barely had time to admire the Christmastime lego scene featured on the table inside. There are so many details to notice! I'll be back next time I'm in Tahoe.

Ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs, tater tots, bacon, and sausage and there's barely any bacon and no sausage at all in my burrito. They kind of ripped me off when it comes to the meat. It's mainly all egg in the burrito. Quality is good tho. Pretty bland and unflavored.

This bagel cost $9.50, mind you. I guess some people might prefer this much cream cheese, but it felt very haphazard.

We were immediately greeted with a "good morning," friendly faces, and genuinely happy employees, which was such a breath of fresh air. Everything came out great, and our barista, Dan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and communicated with us every step of the way while we waited for our coffees and hot food. Dan even took the time to recommend a nice outdoor spot where we could sit and enjoy the lake views. He did a 5-star, 5-diamond job taking care of me and my three friends. Thank you, Dan, and thank you, Java Hut, for sending us off with happy taste buds and a great recommendation for how to enjoy the rest of our afternoon! We'll definitely be back.

What hurts it is it's basically the only coffee shop in kings beach and they are just way too expensive. I live here, and I can go to any place on the west shore and get similar coffee for 2 dollars cheaper. So I don't really go here much because I don't want to spend $6-7 on a coffee and &$13 plus for a coffee and a croissant. In comparison, Tahoe house bakery is at least $3-4 cheaper for a coffee and a croissant and similar quality. Maybe it's not anyone's fault, it's just my reality

We sat in a packed bar and waited in line for a half hour for cocktails as there was only one bartender! So busy for a Tuesday evening but since it's summer it's to be expected! However, my current opinion stands as mediocre at best. Ambience is cozy and old-school, borderline needing a deep clean. I ordered the Lumaconi, it tasted fine. But one of the problems with this restaurant is how the food is plated and presented. You can see from most pictures that it lacks visual appeal. My sister ordered the lasagna. It was interesting that the meat inside was a sliced meatball. I don't know what to say about that. Lastly, my niece ordered Angel hair pasta. I would venture to guess that they boiled a whole box and dumped that same portion into her bowl. Way too much pasta and lacking balance with the few scattered tomatoes and protein, of what looked to be a boiled chicken breast. Wishing we could have visited here in its prime. If you visit, you definitely won't be dazzled, but it's possible that you might not be disappointed.
