Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 We ordered: - crab cakes appetizer: the mango salsa was so good, the mango pieces were ripe and soft, and the crab cakes themselves had good outer crunchy texture with soft filling - new york steak, medium to medium well: I usually find places will make medium to medium well steak at just barely medium rare to medium, but this place definitely cooked it very thoroughly, seemed closer to well-done. The steak was a little too chewy and tough for my taste, but overall good flavor. I loved the wild rice pilaf side! - lemonade and sierra sunburn: both really fresh and seemed like they were made from fresh lemons! the raspberry in the sunburn was great The lighting was warm and the lights were really overhead. The benches were comfortable and not cold to sit on, and overall nice, clean, comfy environment. Service was really friendly and apologized that the drinks menu didn't have dairy-free options for some of the drinks with dairy, overall really attentive and engaging. We found a lot of street parking a few minutes away and walked over, also took a walk on the lake beach right behind it which was super pretty

Jason's beachside Grille is located on the Lake Tahoe loop in California. While seeing a convert in Tahoe, we decided the following day to traverse the Lake Tahoe loop in our rental and to stop at local bars and eateries. We stopped into Jason's at the end of our trek and had a cocktail and then pressed on as we had a dinner reservation looming in the near distance. The cocktail selection was abundant and the place itself had a ski resort type feel about it. Like a 70's feel if you know what I mean. The staff was friendly and informative on their drinks, and the interior was clean and well kept for its dated appearance. This was a great stop on our loop trip.
I stopped by Jason's for a late solo lunch on a late September weekday. It was a cold, windy, gloomy day, and the place was not busy. They seated me in a very nice, roomy booth, away from the door, so I can stay warm. What a nice gesture. The place definitely had that softly lit, cozy nestled in feel that day, and that was wonderful. The server was sweet. I had a fish and chips with iced tea (alas, I was driving) and the meal was excellent! I sat there, feeling warm and relaxed, and enjoyed the nostalgic feeling, until a big party came in and sat right behind me... If you are lucky enough to be a local, find a cold winter day and enjoy a quiet time, a wonderful meal and... perhaps a good beer.
Do you like ribs? Like fall-off-the-bone,succulent,delicious ribs? GO HERE! Now granted most of the sauce was put on at the end, but man, that meat is tender! Also, the mashed potatoes are real red baby bliss potatoes that have just the right amount of garlic. Couldn't have asked for a better meal. There is a back patio that overlooks the lake, and there is lot or street parking.
Food was okay, the quality of the beef was definitely top notch. Fish and chips was okay. Service was awesome, love the place ambience. Definitely an American classic. Overall 3.5/5
This past Sunday evening, while on our one summer vacation at Lake Tahoe, I ordered the prime rib, as it was what I was recommended to get, by the person I talked to, when I called in my order at Jason's Beachside Grille. I was transferred to the bar to place my order. I told the gentleman who picked up the call that I wanted it RARE (RED,) as I don't eat well done meat ever, especially (at $42.95.) My husband ordered baby back ribs (at $28.95.) We also got a wedge salad (at $14.95) and a bowl of clam chowder at ($10.95.) When my husband arrived back to our Motel Room with our order, he mentioned that he was told (while paying,) that they had to charge an 18% gratuity, on our "To Go Order," because the total was over $100. The order was not over $100 before tax. Next, there wasn't a receipt to view, napkins or any utensils included, to eat our meal with. Then unfortunately, there was a problem with my $42.95 prime rib which was WELL DONE (BROWN,) therefore I couldn't eat it. I did try it by ripping a piece off the end, (as seen in the picture,) but I don't do well done! If I was in the restaurant I would have immediately sent the prime rib back. But I wasn't and no one answered the phone when I tried to call as it was getting late! The wild rice was wild as well, so it wasn't eaten either. I didn't care for the squash vegetables so the complete meal was sadly disappointing! I would appreciate my money back Jason's Beachside Grille management, as you can see by the picture I added, it's not what I ordered!!! Seriously, is the meat red? Is it even pink? Absolutely not! Due to this unfortunate incident, I have learned that I won't ever ask another employee of any restaurant to recommend a food choice anymore, especially after being recommended the most expensive dinner on their menu! There is no ambience to describe here.
Second time at Jason's. Came in by myself while my husband and kids ride e-bikes. I ordered the Mexican style shrimp cocktail and a cup of today's soup which is beef and vegetable. Soup was nice - seasoned well without being too salty (which can happen if it gets over reduced by sitting all day). The shrimp cocktail was my favorite of the two. Seasoned but without too much salt again and a little on the sweet side but perfect with a squeeze of lime it's served with to cut the sweetness. Served with warm tortilla chips that are not oily! Not stingy with the avocado in it either. A lot of shrimp but enough onion and cucumber for crunch.
I came in with family after a polar plunge and we were able to warm up during happy hour! Our server was friendly and helpful. I like the dark and moody ambiance, it is reminiscent of an old steakhouse. It still has the old slow Tahoe feel to it. The wings and cocktails were fantastic! I'll be back for more.
If you are in Kings Beach and want to grab a bite to eat, I highly recommend Jason's Beachside Grille. This is our go to spot whenever in town. I have tried several items on the menu and they all have been so good. The staff, service, and atmosphere are amazing. I recommend sitting on the outdoor patio that has a lake view.
I had the Russian burger asked for medium rare, but a little bit more on the rare side waitress had an attitude It's never been a issue before at any other restaurant Had the grilled artichoke as an appetizer it was pretty good felt like it needed a little bit more salt or something My friend had the prime rib and she said it was the most disgusting thing she's ever had she only took a bite the potatoes tasted like nothing, and the vegetables tasted like they were sitting in sink water Waitress had an attitude with us the whole time and then as we were leaving, proceeded to talk shit about us to coworker twice we heard it in the beginning and then afterwards she's lucky I left a tip. The ambience was very nice

Dirty dishes. Our first set was our glass had an obvious lipstick stain. No biggie. Sent it back and got new glasses. Next round they brought out the appetizer plates and two of them were also dirty. Stop in on my Trip to Tahoe. Got seated in 15 minutes. Place was busy, but the service was still amazing. There were 5 in my party and we ordered quickly. The food came quick and all the food was hot and fresh. We have the French Onion soup, clam chowder, coconut shrimp, and Prime rib. Everything was great! Not sure why Jason's has lower ratings, this place is great! Their French onion soup is bomb - and especially for the price! A cup is $6 ($4 during happy hour) which is a steal. In comparison, the French onion soup at Garwoods would run you about $16. Their burgers are delicious, great salads, amazing bar with specialty cocktails - even warm winter ones. The service is always phenomenal here. Everyone is extremely friendly and attentive. Jason's is a great spot with a big variety on their menu! read more

We were visiting from out of town and needed to find a place for dinner for a party of 16. We called to make a rezzy and told them we were fine with getting split up if necessary. Parking on the street was not an issue at all. When we arrived, we were greeted by a warm lady. She checked the fire out waiting area for us and told us that there was space for us to wait there. It was so cozy and surprisingly fit all 16 of us. We didn't have to wait long for our tables to get set up. We were indeed split into 2 tables of 4 and a table of 8, but we were right next to each other. :) This place is family friendly, which we always appreciate. There's a children's menu as they provided crayons and a coloring placemat. We were really looking forward to having a hot bowl of clam chowder, but unfortunately they were all out. Some food/drinks we ended up ordering included: * Prime rib: very juicy and generous portion. Loved the green beans it came with * artichoke with an aioli dip- yummy and fun to eat * buttered pasta for the kiddos (nothing fancy) * burgers- ppl seemed to love! * beer in goblets (the boys had fun with these) * Cadillac Margarita- yummy! * Strawberry Salad- friends enjoyed! Visited North Lake to catch up with friends and brought my dog along. Since my friends are longtime summer residents, they knew the dog-friendly spots and suggested Jason's Beachside Grille, which welcomes "well-behaved" pups on their beachside patio. That's my girl! On the patio (at least mid-week), there's no table service, you grab a menu, order at the bar, and pick up your food to go. The bartender wasn't busy, though, and kindly brought our meals out, which was a nice touch. I ordered the wedge salad, and it was excellent, crisp iceberg lettuce with creamy blue cheese dressing, plenty of blue cheese crumbles, bacon, and fresh tomatoes. My friends had a burger, a Reuben, and both were big hits. I really appreciate that Jason's is dog-friendly (as are many Tahoe spots). It makes me much more likely to return when traveling with my pup. read more
Such a cute little place, inside AND out but the weather was so good that we sat on the patio. Our server Jade was so friendly and attentive! We got a mai tai and the frozen mango drink... the were sweet, fruity and fun. We got the caprese crostini appetizer and we shared the rib eye sandwich with fries and a garden salad with balsamic dressing. This is a good restaurant to go to when you are in Lake Tahoe. They serve standard American food - mostly sandwiches and burgers. I liked the salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans that I ordered. The mashed potatoes were tasty because they were smooth and buttery. I liked that there were bits of potato skins in them too. Their prices are fair and the vibes are cozy during the holidays. I like that they open a little later compared to the other restaurants too. read more

The food is good, decent servings. The nashville chicken sandwich and the reuben are a fan favorite. The nachos were a bit disappointing with the "melted" cheese. Menu prices: $19 burgers, $19-22 sandwiches, $28-43 dinner plate, $15 salad, $11 soups, $8 pints, $10-12 cocktails. read more
Mike came here end of November with my girlfriend. We wanted a good happy hour. I'm glad I chose this place because the clam chowder soup and French onion soup were delicious. Also have really good drinks on happy hour. There is a small area that you can take your drink to and sit right by the fire, which is really awesome, which has a very good ambience to sit with your partner Service was excellent. Hostest super sweet and nice, even came to check on us when it got busy! We sat outside and it was nice clean and the sight was sweet looking out at the beach. Food of course 10/10 not our first time here but our first time as a family of 3 and it was perfect. Kat the waitress was really sweet and attentive. 10/10 would recommend this place. read more

Jason's is a Kings Beach icon. It's right on the beach with great indoor and outdoor seating. Great atmosphere, good food, cozy. Don't miss the grilled artichoke! Parking can be a bear. read more

For starters the baby back ribs appetizer only come with 3 ribs, to each there own, they lacked flavor and tenderness. The mai Thai I order also didn't taste good. Service is decent and the view is really nice read more

We were over in Kings Beach to attend a concert and spend the night. It was a date night that was so very long overdue! Joe picked this place right on the lake front. The first sign is the place was filling up quickly at 5 p.m. I saw a large group of 6 getting out of their vehicle so I was like hurrying to get seated and order before them.., Our waiter Martin was at our table very quickly to get our drink order and just as fast coming back and getting our dinner order. We were both starving since we hadn't had any real breakfast or lunch. We both ordered sandwiches so we could split them (a fav thing I like to do with a fellow diner). I ordered the prime rib dip and Joey got the Rueben. They both included fries which were the best I'd ever had and that's definitely saying a lot since I take my fries very seriously. They have to be Epic or I'm not bothering with them. They were perfectly cooked!! A 10! The prime rib dip was excellent and the bun tasted like it was freshly made. Now for the Rueben: I must start by saying I make these at home and I feel like I'm an expert. My mother made these so my childhood was serviced with a Rueben monthly. Jason's was very generous with the pastrami but too little Swiss cheese and sauerkraut. But don't get it twisted here the sandwich was amazing! A hard 8. The food came out at lightning speed, I was shocked!!! I would honestly say 5 minutes at the maximum since we ordered. I sarcastically told Martin; " That took so long"... There was some loud talkers drinking right behind us but that's totally out of our control, I think they had enough to drink and time for food. JK :) The tab was $ 50 total before tip and didn't get any alcohol. I felt it was a fair price for the quality of the food and a wonderful atmosphere for sure, Definitely will return to Jason's! I would love to sit out on the patio during the summer like my favorites in Tahoe City. read more
