I took my family for lunch at Fubu after a fun day of playing in the snow. There was ample parking in the lot and they have cute little enclosed seating areas with heaters, great for those with pets joining. Busy spot. Across from the Hyatt. Used to be Austin's. Nice Tahoe themed decor, very clean, but needed more heat.. even though it was December I didn't want it to feel that way inside! The food was incredible. I got the chicken curry sandwich and the waiter asked if me and my friend wanted to share it which I thought was odd. But I understood once it came. I got it on sourdough but it was gigantically packed and I ended up getting half to go. It was DELICIOUS. It came with chips that were actually very good.. my friend got fries with hers and she couldn't finish her meal either! It did take awhile to get our food ordered and the waiter forgot a few little things but still, he was very friendly and apologetic. We had planned to go to another place, which ended up being closed, and we're so glad it was, because we found FUMOs! It was the best lunch I've had out in a long time. The ambience is cozy Tahoe, and the service was super. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing, and everything arrived just when you wanted it. I had the Cali Chicken Club, which was enormous and came with fried potatoes. My husband had the Smash Burger, and I was drooling over it. We got the seared ahi, crab cake, risotto, clam chowder and a few drinks. We loved the food so much we came back for brunch the next day! I got the crab cake benedict and absolutely loved it! We were lucky enough to snag the last seating at the bar otherwise it would have been a 40 minute wait to eat indoors. Hubby thought we were going to a Japanese restaurant because of the name lol I ordered the ultimate benny, hubby got the Monte Christo and our kid got the clam chowder. My friend and I went on a Monday when Austin's was closed. Our previous time, about a year plus prior had slow service which made us late for an event and was expensive so we had skipped it other times. This time the service was excellent! The place is designed nice with the decor. It's very Tahoe modern and clean. We sat by the window. We couldn't understand why a bowl of clam chowder would be $19. They explained it was full clams but that still didn't make sense. They split it into 2 bowls for us and it was huge! I am definitely coming back for that. The Brie was okay, but I wouldn't seek it out. The spritz drink I had was lovely. The clam chowder and price match for the quality, but I feel some of the other items on the menu do not. read more

We were visiting Incline Village for a family trip, and all seven of us (six adults and a six year old) descended on Fumo in search of a place that would have something for everyone (including our one gluten sensitive diner), and Fumo really delivered. Seated in a lovely outdoor space that was cozy without feeling cramped, the views were nice and woodsy feeling, but the service was as good as if we were inside. We quickly settled on shrimp ceviche, beet arugula salad, and sea scallops for table appetizers, and each one was fantastic. Honestly, the salad may have been the best of the bunch; a truly fantastic composition of fresh ingredients, with special care given to all aspects of flavor and texture contrasts. Sea scallops were large, fresh, and perfectly seared, with a tender texture and buttery flavor. For my entree, I asked to combine some elements of the prix fixe menu, and my wish was granted. I ended up with a filet mignon with mushroom risotto and asparagus, netting me a juicy and perfectly medium rare filet with a delightful but unobtrusive cognac sauce. If there was a knock on the dish at all, it was the risotto - it was a tad on the thick side, and could have used a bit more liquid, but it still tasted great. I also must call out the Passione Fumosa cocktail - featuring smoky mezcal, passion fruit, and jalapeno slices, it was a spicy delight with a great mezcal punch, and made for a great opener to our meal. We had a great time at Fumo, and seven diners went home satisfied. A win in anyone's book. read more

Early Friday morning breakfast after a short walk to FUMO. Upon arriving we were greeted and seated inside w/ our dog. They were accommodating from the start. The inside is warm and inviting even though I could imagine it being full at times. The seating options were really cool. They had typical seats and tables along with cozy couches and side tables. Would be fun to enjoy a cocktail in the evening. Outside seating is also an option; with a couple enclosed tables too. The greenhouse tables are super cute. I had the Bacon Avo Benny (sorry no pictures) and my husband had the cheddar biscuits and gravy. Both plates were DELICIOUS. I did notice half way through that incase missing avocado but it was fine, really. The gravy was very flavorful and though the biscuit wasn't fluffy it did not take away from the meal. We are locals but we had never been to Fumo. One of our friends told us they like Fumo's breakfast, so we decided to stop in at the start of our bike ride that morning. Overall, it was pretty good. Here is what we noticed: - It was pretty early on a Sunday holiday weekend, but there were lots of open tables around 9am. By 10am, however, it had gotten pretty busy. We sat outdoors, which was very pleasant. - My wife and I ordered both the DP Ski and the Breakfast Burrito to share. Considering how empty the place was when we ordered, the food took a while to come out. We asked to have the potatoes extra crispy but that didn't really happen (maybe it is the style of potatoes?). Otherwise, both dishes were really good but expensive for what you get (but probably reflective of the prices they can charge in this heavy tourist town). - Service was overall pretty good, however we didn't really like the fact that the server stood over us at the end when processing our credit card making it difficult to tip anything other than one of the pre-set tip choices...which start at 18% and go up from there (which is a pet peeve of mine...they should start at 15%...plus, when I looked later, they calculated tip off the after-tax amount, not the pre-tax cost which is more accurate). Bottom line: We enjoyed our meal at Fumo and will probably go back someday, but it's not something we'll be rushing to do anytime soon. read more

We stopped here after an afternoon of exploring the area. Not sure what to expect we had a very positive experience. They had a prix fix deal that day. It included an appetizer, a salad and main course. The portions were hearty and we were starving since we hadn't eaten since breakfast. Our server was delightful and very helpful with making choices. Inside was rustic which we would expect given the area we were in. We opted to sit inside since it was a bit warm outside. A neighboring table got the clam chowder which came with clams in the shell. Our experience was amazing! Stayed across the street at the Hyatt Regency and came here after a day at incline beach after a local mentioned it. Everything we had was amazing including the service from Bri! We started with the shrimp ceviche and the spicy garlic edamame, which had great flavors. I had the chefs pre-fixe with mushroom brie, beet salad and filet mignon with cream sauce, mashed potatoes & asparagus. My husband had the ribeye with mash & broccolini. Everything was absolutely delicious!! We eat steak regularly and we're very impressed. We had dinner at Gar Woods the night prior and had very similar meals but sadly disappointed there. Came in Sunday morning before heading to Monkey Rock. We love cute breakfast joints like this, and the menu looked solid. Bri was our server and she was super sweet and really on top of everything. The cheesy biscuits and gravy were awesome, and the steak and eggs were good (steak was a little chewy, but still tasty). Our son liked his burrito too. I've been coming to Fumo for about 15 years, and it's always been one of my favorite spots in Incline Village. My wife and I came up specifically to celebrate my birthday weekend--stayed in a perfect Airbnb, a beautiful night in North Lake Tahoe--and we were both excited to dine at Fumo again. The cocktails have always been fantastic, the food incredible, and the elk--one of my all-time favorites--something I was really looking forward to. But the moment we walked in, something felt... off. I told my wife right away, "Something's changed--this place has new ownership." She looked at me, and sure enough, when we asked our server, Ariel, she confirmed it. Ariel was a sweetheart--friendly, bubbly, and full of energy. She couldn't stop talking about how great the new owner was and how the food was now "even more amazing." Her enthusiasm made us hopeful, but deep down, I had a feeling things weren't the same. Then came the food. My wife ordered a vegetarian noodle dish that was, honestly, terrible. I tasted it myself--it just wasn't good. I felt bad for her and told her to order something else, so she got the beet salad. The problem? You could fit the amount of beets they served into a ramekin. Barely a quarter of a beet, and not much flavor to go with it. I ordered the elk, as I always do, but this time it came out well done--completely overcooked. It had some flavor, but nothing like before. My suspicions were right: something's changed under the new ownership, and not for the better. Admittedly, Ariel made it all right in the end--she was truly wonderful and tried to make the experience better--but I can't lie. The integrity of being a Yelper is telling the truth, even when it hurts. You don't want to hurt the servers, and you don't want to hurt the business, but the truth is the truth. This place is no longer good, and that's just so sad. Because to find a place that has both great service and great food is rare--a true gem. The tahoe burger on a pretzel bun is simply too good for catchup. Nicely dine, well balanced goodies, literally need two linen napkins - one for you lap and for your mouth so you don't drip pure goodness on yourself and dry the corner of your moth between bites. Garlic truffle mashed potato's are to die for and I don't even like garlic and truffle very much :) service was super friendly. All in all, wonderful first visit. Anyone ever seen that TV show The Bear? Welp if you want more of that, head to Fumo and sit at the bar. This is a complex operation juggling reservations for their bar, couch area, regular tables and outside igloos (I mean WTF right?) against a constant stream of non-reserved interlopers trying to secure a spot. The staff is rolling chaos dealing with all of this with pure symphony execution creating seamless customer experience and joy. We had all of the sides (really) and a beet salad. All top notch. The new bartender (think this dude was 16 but we aren't ATF Agents) was delivering spot on elixirs like a seal spinning a ball on his nose. We'll be back and you should too. Fumo offers fresh seafood, finer fare, and a relaxed atmosphere, in an unassuming little plaza with a clocktower nearby. We had a reservation for the kiddo in the group's birthday, but when we arrived the server let us know it was kind of loud inside, suggesting we might enjoy being outside more. Once outside we were able to place our order quickly but then were all but ignored by the server for much of the almost 2 hours we were there. At the end of the meal we sat for about 25 minutes in the cold debating whether or not to go inside to try to pay and leave. We finally did that, and didn't even get to look at a dessert menu for the birthday person. Good thing dinner was pretty filling (set menu) and we picked something up from the store instead. My husband and I are from Denver and stayed in Incline Village for 3 nights, and we ended up going to Fumo for two of our dinners, it was that amazing! The service was delightful, Arielle was a wonderful server, so attentive and personable! We got the exact same meal both times because we didn't want to deviate from perfection: I couldn't tell you what we liked most, since everything was phenomenal. Perhaps, the shrimp scampi was my favorite, but everything else was almost as good. We got the crab cakes, sea scallops and steak tartare as our appetizers ... it was just us two, we love to eat. We split the sirloin for our entree and got the shrimp scampi as a side. I can't emphasize enough how incredible this place is. But perhaps saying we went two nights in a row should say something! We came here on the Sunday morning before Memorial Day as nothing else around seemed to be open. Food was bad. Lobster deviled egg was super fishy. Steak was undercooked then became over cooked after "redo". They were not super busy but we still waited for 30 min to get our food. Besides the food - I do need to mention the change station in their one and only restroom. I'm 5ft 6 inches, and can barely reach the change station while changing my 15 mon old. Also the way it's setup, if my baby is 1 inch taller, her head would stick out of the changing station. This is a big safety hazard for young kids. Do not recommended, especially when you visit with young kids. Service was good tho - our waitress was super patient and nice. read more

Upon refry it become rubbery. 2. The waffle we ordered for the kiddo is barely bigger than her hand - she's 6. 3. The deviled eggs with lobster is obviously made with lobster that has been sitting around for a long time. 4. The dish with the least issue is the omelette, and even that 10-20% of the potatoes are not cooked through. At the prices being charged, the restaurant feels pretentious and lack substance. I asked if I could sit at the bar since I was by myself and no one was sitting at the bar. They accommodated my request. They have a decent breakfast menu but the Logger's Skillet caught my eye. I asked if I could replace the roasted potatoes with one pancake. They said no problem. I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. The items arrived in two plates. Let's start with the BACON. It was made just right, crispy and not too greasy. And three good sized slices. The scrambled eggs seemed like 3 eggs not 2 eggs as stated. The eggs were fluffy and creamy. And finally the pancake was bigger than expected and fluffy. I'm glad I only ordered one because it was quite filling. Well I definitely will come back when I'm craving a traditional breakfast.
