This is *destination dining* at its finest. Chef Watkins is a genius who is low-key serving up the absolute best food in the Olympic Valley/Lake Tahoe/Greater Sierra Nevada area. New leadership from Travis Pranke (with a restaurant mgmt pedigree stretching through the finest Michelin dining in the word) will elevate this space from 'hey, our resort has a steakhouse' to a place that foodies will go out of their way to find and enjoy. We spent five nights at the Everline, with no expectation of decent food in the area...a drive to Truckee maybe but knowing Tahoe is mostly miss and miss. But something about Six Peaks intrigued us, so menu unseen we showed up on our first night. Immediately we knew the old school late 20th Century decor wasn't the vibe this place was doing...this was fine dining at its best. As if writing, they do a $95 four course prix fixe which is actually five courses (four plus dessert). Chef Watkins keeps a through line for the courses but varies the palate; while many restaurants of this caliber start to taste the same by the third course, every dish was a unique palate of excellence.. Wins - the bar (new spins on classic cocktails), the attention to detail (my water glass never was below half full), the veg (so fresh - ZOMG the morel mushrooms!)...everything. Keep an eye out for this place...and go now if you want to lock in that prix fixe price because when word gets out on this place, folks will happily pay double for the same thing! read more

Service was very friendly but there was some major lag time between the appetizers and main courses coming out. The food was excellent - the Wagyu tartare came with a strip of cooked steak that was a nice surprise addition. The endive salad was fresh and a good size portion. The tomahawk was large and the bone marrow crust was salty but flavorful. We really liked the nante carrots which were roasted and glazed to perfection. The sheepshead fish special was also good with a curry sauce twist. The scallop side with the tomahawk was good - 2 large scallops. Kids were done by the time we got the entrees after a long wait so we didn't even look at the dessert menu. What a lovely time we had at Six Peaks Grill. We had reservations one night and ended up at the bar another. The table service was great. Our server treated us right. The wine was flowing and the food was delicious. My friend and I shared all of the dishes we had each night. We loved the little croutons on the Mac n cheese. I liked the salads, didn't love them. Some of the greens were a little too much like weeds for me. Just give me a straight up Caesar salad. Our steak was cooked perfectly. The béarnaise sauce was kind of fluffy-how??. The tempura cauliflower alone was so good, it didn't need the chimichurri (which was onion forward). We took dessert to go-I definitely recommend the chocolate mousse cake. The bar is lovely, so do not hesitate to sit there. Service was fabulous. I had the blackberry cocktail, Palisades Peak and could have had those all night. We shared the catch of the day which was a flakey white fish (I cannot remember the name) and it had a fantastic flavorful sauce with lemongrass and other complementary spices. Asparagus, prawns and morels accompanied the dish. My only complaint is the tiny rectangles plates they give you if you're sharing food. Ask for regular plates! read more

We went to Alpine Meadows on the day, and after relaxing at the pool area, we changed and came to the Six Peaks Grille. We were sat by the window, with the view of the pool area, mountain and the valley. All the dishes and wine and cocktail options are made with distinct local ingredients. The server was nice too! Explained in detail about the menu and offered a few recommendations. Palisades Punch $16 I ordered the cocktail to pair with my dinner. Palisades Punch was made from Grey Whale Gin, muddled blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Very refreshing with the taste of berries and lemon. Highly recommended! 2018 Willa Kenzie Estate Pinot Noir $20 Husband got the Pinot Noir from Williamatte Valley The glass has complex aroma with notes of black cherry, cranberry sauce, and orange peel. Supple tannin and a long finish. Pan Seared Diver Scallops $46 I ordered the pan seared diver scallops with three huge scallops on top of corn risotto, artichoke and chili vinaigrette on the side. 28 Day Dry Aged Ribeye 14oz $66 Husband got the dry aged ribeye. Medium was a little overcooked. There four sauces to choose from, husband got the Garlic Confit Butter that paired well with the steak. Seasonal Foraged Mushroom $12 On the side we got the foraged mushroom. Mushroom were salty but chewy! Chocolate Lava "S'more" Cake $14 Highly recommend the S'more cake dessert! On top of the vanilla ice cream there were sprinkle of graham cracker. On the side there was a chocolate lava cake, and toasted marshmallow. Really nice ambiance and decent food in a ski resort in Olympic valley. We picked a few unique flavors. The coffee crusted duck breast is so delicious, highly recommend. Their old fashion has a mint and citrus tweak, which doesn't taste like old fashion, but still pretty good. The lemon cream cheese cake is nicely plated and textured, indeed the decadent dessert. Nice selection of beer, wine and spirits. The menu is simple enough, if you like steaks - this is a good restaurant for you. The sides are limited but the lobster Mac and and ratatouille were both very good. The service was what you would expect for a steak house in a new resort, not pushy, happy to answer questions and timely. The atmosphere was nice, going for an early dinner would be nice to catch the views of the valley. However we did have some bugs flying around when we were eating which was not great. read more

Awesome that this is in the hotel and I didn't need to drive! Views are incredible even in April. Service could work on picking up plates when finished and keeping the water refilled. They seem very understaffed but with this type of price tag people just expect a little more out of the servers. Food was good, we ate everything! No left overs! The stake was unevenly cooked. This place was very convenient during our trip to Lake Tahoe. It was in our resort and the views are amazing. The meaning behind six peaks is that you get to see six peaks from the view which is one of the best dining views in this resort. I really enjoyed their dinner menu options And the appetizer as you can see in the picture was delicious. Their steaks were also very fairly priced. The one issued for me that prevented it from being five stars is that the service was very slow. The day my wife and I went, it was pretty empty inside the restaurant, but it still took forever for us to even get water or get our orders from the waiter. We tried several items on the menu. Everything including the sides were excellent. A couple of the favorites were the black truffle Mac and cheese, as well as the carrots. Best of all was the view. If you do reserve a table try and get into dinner before it gets dark to be able to enjoy the sunset and the Mountain View. read more

I wasn't expecting haute cuisine on the side of the mountain in North Lake Tahoe but was very underwhelmed by my experience here. I'll start with the good. The ambiance was excellent. A beautiful view and a warm lobby with live music to walk through. The rest left a lot to be desired. The steak we ordered medium rare was delivered medium...the saddest mistake because you can't uncook a steak. What was really nice is that they took it back and made us a new one and then left the cost of the steak off of the bill. Delivered with an apology, it's the best way to handle a mistake like that. Unfortunately that mistake offset the entire meal as it took 15 minutes to get our entree back while our sides had been delivered already. And as to the sides, I probably should have thought more about ordering the locally grown vegetable medley...its a mountain in the winter after all...but I was in the mood for fresh vegetables. Sadly, it was overcooked and overpowered by limpy bok choy and inedible. I don't think I would eat here again but would definitely come to the hotel and sit for a drink by the fire. read more

Every time my husband and I are in Tahoe we come here! It's a very expensive dinner no matter what you get, and every time it is worth it, UNTIL NOW. I am extremely put off by how our server treated us. ROBERT, if you are that entitled that you speak down to your customers, you should not be in the service industry. When we arrived it took him 20 minutes to come and introduce himself and then said he'd be right back. Another 20 minutes later he came and took ONLY our drink order. I could have understood if the place was packed but there were 6 tables in total, and ROBERT didn't seem overwhelmed, he just acted as if he couldn't be bothered. I'm sorry, but this is a really fancy and expensive place, the service should match the quality of everything else. After we got our drinks ROBERT came back over and asked if we had any questions. We kindly asked about the catch of the day which we ordered 2 of. Then we ordered the bison, which he rolled his eyes and said they were out and then he pushed the New York strip. We weren't interested in that, but there was a table that had something that looked really great so we asked him what that was. "That's elk. But it takes an hour to prepare so you won't want that!" Isn't part of the servers job to sell the specials and create a welcoming atmosphere? So, we ended up ordering a filet mignon and the sirloin. Our meals arrived and ROBERT brought out all of our correct orders except for my husbands sirloin. It was very clearly a New York strip steak. We were very polite and asked about what was served and ROBERT insisted he put on the system a sirloin, then he rudely grabbed it off the table and took it to the kitchen. When he came back he said "Ya, this is a sirloin the kitchen will make you another one but it will take at least a half an hour so you should just eat this." Because of his attitude we showed him pictures on yelp of what the difference of the meat looks like from their restaurant and he walked away!!! This is a really fancy place, and with the type of service ROBERT provided, they should be embarrassed. And ROBERT, I don't know if you were having a bad day, and if you were I'm sorry. The options for fine dining in this area is very limited, so since we were staying here, we just decided to stay on property for dinner, but truth be told, we didn't pay for this meal; my company did. For what the bill ended up being, I think it was worth it bc not only was the food really tasty and the quality outstanding, but the portions were also big. I hate fine dining only to think of what you will have to eat after you leave. Six Peaks really delivers. After three cocktails, a bottle of wine, a shared salad, two platters of focaccia, a shared app, a shared side, two sizeable entrees and a shared dessert, the bill was $425 after tax and tip. Again, semi pricy, but really worth it. This sounds like a lot of food, and it IS! Service was OK. Our waiter was nice and knowledgeable, but he wasn't very attentive. If he was attentive and I wasn't wondering where he was half the time, I would've given this place five stars. What a difference a year makes. I was raised if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. My wife and I attended Six Peaks about 6 months ago, and it was for a lack of a better word, a let-down, especially for the price point. I could have gotten a better steak at Outback, and I mean that without a hint of hyperbole. The steak was bland and flavorless, as were all the side dishes that came at a premium. The views were breathtaking, and the staff was helpful and informative, but the food didn't live up to the experience. I kicked myself after paying the bill and swore off ever coming back. That brings us to last night. After hearing friends and family rave about Six Peaks recently, I had to ask, "The Resteraunt at Everline ? The place with the beautiful view up in Olympic Valley ? That place ?" We were told that there was a new chef and that the food finally lived up to the spectular ambiance. We decided to give it a second chance to see if the Emperor was, in fact, wearing any clothes..... The new chef is him. My awful bland filet that I was kicking myself for eating because I could do better at home all of the sudden melted in my mouth. The cream chard greens were an explosion of layered flavors that were a joy to eat. My Cadillac Margarita that a Ms. Carly Stone insisted on me having was smooth, refreshing, and delicious. I was stupified that this was the same resteraunt. How the hell did I just get one of the best margaritas of my life in Tahoe ? This resteraunt is an experience, sit back, relax, and just enjoy it. Order appetizers, cocktails, main dishes, and desserts. This food is meant to be enjoyed and savored. I can't believe it's the same resteraunt. Well done. read more

This is a MUST do experience in north Lake Tahoe. I took my friends for tapas on the terrace in the evening sunshine and it was nothing short of glorious. We had Scott and Will taking care of us- they were absolutely phenomenal. They pointed us in the right direction for wine selection and tapas options, and even the specials! The ravioli special was insanely delicious and the lamb special was top tier. Everything was prepared so perfectly and tasted so fresh! I think that this meal was in the top 5 of my life. We have been coming to Six Peaks Grille for over 12 years. It is one of our most favorite restaurants and we've celebrated many happy occasions there. The restaurant has gone through some pretty big changes over the past few years. One of the biggest was when their Executive Chef, Chris Watkins, left. The food and dining experience was just not at the same level. We visited this week and were so incredibly thrilled to learn that he has returned!! Chef Chris Watkins is so creative and puts a unique spin and flair to his dishes. Everything is always delicious and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the fondue on Thursday. The fondue was amazing and fun. But we just had to come back over the weekend for dinner with friends. Here are some highlights: - Beet salad with Burrata, endive and chicories: gorgeous dish, beautifully prepared beets. - Scallop ceviche with roe: fresh and so flavorful. - Seared scallop with sweet corn risotto - incredible! - Pork chop: this was outstanding. We all tried a bite and agreed this was the best pork we've ever had. The meat was tender and so tasty. - Vegan quinoa dish - yum! - Crispy Squash in a spicy curry sauce: awesome! The staff at Six Peaks are all so friendly, professional, and helpful. The restaurant is beautiful with an outstanding view. Yet, the vibe is relaxed and comfortable. Not stuffy or pretentious. Cons: Not a safe place for people with food allergies. I dined here twice, on Thursday and again on Saturday. Both times I informed the staff of my life-threatening food allergies. Both times I was brought dishes that obviously had allergens. Once, I am frustrated but not enough to write a negative review. However, three dishes over the course of two separate meals indicates to me that this restaurant and it's staff are careless over food allergies. Given how expensive this restaurant is and it's obvious attempts to appear high-end, attention to such a serious detail should be table stakes. We had an absolutely phenomenal meal at Six Peaks last night. There were 3 adults and 3 kids. I knew it was going to be amazing when our kid's food arrived (we had it come out as soon as it was ready). They had the filet and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My buddy and I shared the tomahawk. It was insanely good! Perfect temp (med-rare) and flavor that was out of this world. 2 of my favorite steak houses in the US are Wolfgang's and Peter Luger's in NY. This tomahawk was right up there with their steaks. So happy I live only 45 minutes away so I will definitely be back. My wife had the scallops (also perfect) and we ended with 3 desserts. All were great but the deconstructed cheesecake was a perfect end to a perfect meal. 100/100. read more

Quite honestly the best dining experience we've ever had. From the presentation and taste of the food, the staff, the caliber of service, to the beautiful venue, everything was unforgettable. Karen the bartender welcomed us with a drink before our reservation. Her professionalism and passion for customer service was outstanding from start to finish. Chef Chris Watkins guided us through his incredible ten- course culinary exhibition. Dishes were masterfully crafted with expertise using local ingredients (including oils extracted from flowers in the garden). Flavors and textures were paired intricately and kept us wanting more. Notable dishes included oysters with fermented turnip, sheepshead with clams and mussels in tomato summer sauce, black garlic pork Tonkatsu, and Wagu beef with roasted garlic with duck fat fried potato fingerlings and a black garlic aioli. Our server, Kaleb, was not only professional but very personable, making sure our experience was top notch from start to finish. Every interaction with staff was professional and enjoyable, great conversations all night. We have been coming to the resort for over 20 years and have always had a great experience at this restaurant since it had opened. We have never had a bad experience until tonight. ** the manager was absolutely fantastic and did what he could to remedy the situation, however the constant customer gaslighting from the server, ROBERT F. And the CHEF, were an utter disappointment and disgrace to this restaurant** Long story short: 15 minutes until ROBERT F. Told us to hold on to take our orders. Another 15 minutes until we put our drink orders in 10 minutes later we received our drinks. 15 minutes later ROBERT F. Decides to come back and take our orders, says that they are out of bison ribeye and tries to push NY strip on us, tells us that the special will take at least an hour, only after us asking if there were any specials. We go with the normal prime RIBEYE 30 minutes later our food comes out, I get a NY steak (40 dollars), which is presented to me as a ribeye ( 60+ dollars) We tell ROBERT F. That this is definitely not a ribeye, yelp reference images below.) he says thats what he put it in as. He comes back and says that the CHEF insists that it's a RIBEYE. And says we are the ones that are mistaken and tries to upswell us on a tomahawk for 140+ dollars!!! Look at the images below!!!!!! We ask for the manager, who was incredibly hospitable, and tried to remedy the situation and talk to the kitchen, but yet again the CHEF insisted that this is how a dry aged ribeye looks like. The manager came back and said they can get a new steak back to us in 8-10 minutes, but at that point I had lost my appetite and told him to just take the ribeye off the bill. ( notice to image , I had not taken a bite out of the NY Steak parading as a "ribeye" by the chef" ) The manager politely took over our table to diffuse anymore debauchery from ROBERT F. And the Chef . It's one thing to get the cut of meat or the order wrong, but to try and cheat a paying customer and sell a cheaper cut of meat for a premium cut is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! We lunched outside al fresco on the terrace, and dined inside. What a refreshing experience to be able to catch a break in a workday, relax outside under the sun & be tended to by invisible elves cleaning out used dishes and bringing you juices, teas, coffees or what not. Thank you guys! All dishes were finely prepared, extremely fresh and light, executive Chef created seafood-focused menu of several distinct dishes to choose from. He knew all the ins and outs of the menu so well and gave us tailored recommendations to make our whole experience memorable. We had a wonderful meal here at Six Peaks Grille. The filet medium rare and side of scallops were on point. My wife had the catch of the day which was sea bass and that was amazing. And believe it or not they had the tastiest lobster mac n cheese with big chunks of lobster. They also have great servers and such a great view of their snowy resort. I was skeptical of this restaurant because of the prices....yet another resort restaurant, overpriced to suck money out of tourists...but I was so wrong! Lovely ambience. When the sun went down, the blinds were pulled up to reveal a lovely view of the pool and mountaints. Our waiter, William, could not have been better - friendly and professional, very attentive without hovering. I had the iconoclast cab, recommended by William, and he did not steer me wrong. Great accompaniament to a steak. My husband had a beer. I had the Little Gem Salad and it was perfect, Delicious dressing, sprinkled with pistachios. My husband had the beet salad and really enjoyed it. I had the Bison Ribeye, perfectly cooked at medium rare and accompanied by roasted garlic! So delicions!! The demiglace saunce was a little sweet but good. My husband had the Chef's Special, a huge bone-in piece of short rib, so perfectly cooked and accompanied by a spicy black garlic sauce. Great steaks phenomenal cocktails!!! This is a phenomenal steak house in Olympic Valley at The Resort at Squaw Creek. The steaks are quality. Perfectly cooked and flavored. Delicious. The bartenders pour stiff drinks and make some great phoofy drinks for those who like them. I'm a eat at the bar guy and this place doesn't disappoint. Unfortunately it's a HUGE restaurant space so unless it's a busy ski weekend it can be a little cavernous. Don't let 70% empty tables fool you the food and drinks here are great! We made reservations for Six Peaks Grille for the second night of our honeymoon stay at the resort. We were greeted by the bartender, Karen, who when told it was our honeymoon made sure we had seats with a fantastic view. She also brought me a complimentary glass of champagne, and when she found out my husband doesn't drink she made him a delish virgin cocktail (also complimentary). She was really fantastic. Even after a two week road trip seeing so many different people and eating at so many different places, she still stands out now. The food was excellent as well. My husband got the bison steak which was awesome and cooked perfectly. I got the chicken, which is something that I'll rarely get at a steakhouse, but it sounded so good. And it TASTED so good. The presentation was a work of art and it was probably the best chicken dish I've ever ordered at a restaurant. For dessert we had the smores dessert and it was gone in about 3 minutes flat, despite us both being full.
