We have been to the Ritz in Half Moon Bay and were excited to go to this location. The valet and entrance to the hotel reminded me a little of Vegas... very swanky. The Manzanita is elegant, modern and chic at the same time very comfortable, not stuffy. The dining room is an open concept and you can see the chefs and staff working in the kitchen. Our waitress was fantastic - very professional and attentive. I was a little surprised to see such a short menu of options. My glass of wine was almost $40. We ordered the Tuna Sashimi appetizer and it was brought with a crunchy seaweed roll that was difficult to break up. The tuna was good with the sauce provided. Next, we split the double pork chop. It was served family style where we had to plate it ourselves. There were four pieces and only one piece had sauce on it. The meat was tough and over cooked. What a disappointment. However, the add-on truffle mashed potatoes were delicious. Dessert was also a highlight. All in all, expensive and not that good. We won't be back.

Great place to have a good dinner night at the resort. The staff is excellent! The food is good and they have a couple of funky things that I'm not use to, but overall it was good. It's more on the mid-pricey range. Not my favorite place at the Ritz, but still good.

We stayed the night at the Ritz for my bday, and I had been wanting to try Manazanita out for awhile, so I was very happy we went! And it was great, amazing food and great service too! We had a nice bottle of Pinot, and a great conversation with the som. She was very informative and made some great food menu recommendations as well. We got the bread with the black garlic butter, the clam chowder (but a fancy version of clam chowder, more like a bisque), the sunchokes appetizer, the pork chop, Brussels sprouts and a yummy lemon dessert! It was all great, and we will definitely be back the next time we are up in the Tahoe area! So if you're looking for fine dining in North lake, you should definitely go here. I've tried all the nice spots in town, and this restaurant is top notch!

This is a great date night or special occasion restaurant as it's upscale but with a casual mountain vibe. The service is superior and the food is seasonal and eclectic. The menu is not extensive but the food is excellent and has something for everyone to enjoy. We ordered a couple of appetizers and sides to share and each got our own entree. Everything was plated beautifully and visually appealing. They present a complimentary first round of focaccia ($2.50 per slice after that) and a complimentary spiced tea to enjoy alongside it. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff made sure to acknowledge it with a special dessert plate and candle. My favorite dish of the night was the 72 hour short rib. It was cooked perfectly, not fatty, and garnished with delicious sauces and micro greens. In addition, there was a fun dessert that looked like a campfire.

I know prices reflect it's on a ski slope in a ritz Carlton, but menu is limited and it's crazy expensive relative to quality of food. My tenderloin here is medium rare. That being said, I will eat here again next time we are skiing at the ritz.

Lovely ambiance, amazing service, and delicious food. We've had the perfect time at every visit for the past few years. The cocktails are served beautifully and tasty. Cocktails and apps by the bar is ideal if you don't have a reservation. We had dinner at the bar once and it was livelier but classy. The menu changes, which is a nice touch to keep things interesting. From entering the restaurant with our coats taken, to the genuine welcome and courteous walk to the table, the sommelier recommendation of a fine wine, and the server's attentiveness, to the extravagant tasting cocktails from the bartender and the decadent dishes by the chef, including the warming farewell at the end of the night - it's always a wonderful experience at Manzanita.

The menu looks very simple, so I wasn't super excited when booking a table, but WOW! The food is great! A simple menu with food prepared perfectly. It is a restaurant to save for special memories, such as a ski trip with friends and family.

The service was great! Our server was very sweet. It's beautiful inside and very clean and relaxing. I think the food is good, not really memorable, but slightly overpriced for what you get. My favorite was probably the side salad and the apple dessert. The truffle potato that was a side of the venison was also delicious!

Yep!!!!! Ding Ding Ding We have a winner!!! The short rib dinner was great! Everything was! This is one of those places where if you eat with your eyes everything I saw coming out of the kitchen I would try and surely enjoy! I posted some photos of the assortment of yummy things we indulged. I would return if in the area. The service and interior was comfy and accommodating as well. Just wonderful food!

Breakfast was our favorite. High quality, local, ingredients and worth the prices. I looked forward to every morning to get the pancakes!

If I'm anywhere near Northstar, it honestly doesn't matter what the plan was -- this will be the place I stop. This time I was in the area for some nighttime tubing and knew exactly where I was heading beforehand. I stopped in and grabbed my usual order: the combination pizza and a Greek salad with shrimp. Some traditions just shouldn't be messed with. Both dishes absolutely knocked it out of the park. The pizza was everything I've come to expect here -- perfectly cooked crust, loaded with toppings, and packed with flavor. The Greek salad with shrimp was just as impressive, fresh, crisp, and a great balance alongside the pizza. It's one of those meals where halfway through you're already thinking about the next time you'll be back. The service here has always been top notch. Every visit I've had the staff has been professional, friendly, and welcoming. It's the kind of consistent hospitality that keeps people coming back year after year. Parking in the village area is usually pretty easy to access, and the surrounding scenery at Northstar is just incredible. Whether you're here during hot summer days coming off the lake or during the cold winter days after being on the mountain, this place fits perfectly into the experience. Every bite of that pizza takes me back to those Tahoe memories -- long summer afternoons, cold mountain air, and good food after a day of adventure. Rubicon Pizza will always be my favorite pizza stop in the area, and it's a place I'll keep coming back to every chance I get.

I also had their Hazy IPA - Chance of Clouds, and that was excellent as well--actually better than I remembered. As we were leaving, they were getting ready for a Friday night trivia event and the place was starting to fill up quickly. It had a fun, lively atmosphere. Overall, I'd recommend stopping by and would definitely return.

The food…read moreis reliable across the board, which is harder than it sounds for a full-service bar and grill. The mushroom quinoa veggie burger and the half-pound cheeseburger are our go-to orders and have never let us down. The coffee roasted carrots are genuinely worth ordering. They're not what you'd expect, and they're good enough that we've ordered them the last two times. The 10 oz. bistro filet is worth trying if you're in the mood for something more substantial. Portions are solid without being excessive. The bar is a real draw. Full bar, decent wine list, and the service at the bar is attentive without being pushy. The cocktails are well made. The old fashioned in the photo says everything you need to know. What surprised us most: the to-go orders are actually good. We've been burned by to-go from places we love before, so this was a pleasant surprise. Quality holds up. They take reservations and handle groups well. Go ahead and book ahead if you're coming on a weekend. Get the carrots. Order a cocktail at the bar while you wait for your table.

The best roasted carrots (usually!) But the other night we took friends there after raving. Hats off to the amazing host for seating us even though we accidentally made the wrong reservation date (their friendly service is still stellar!!) My pork chop was overcooked even after saying let the chef decide how to cook it. Dry and hard to cut. The normally amazing roasted carrots? Meh. Had a strange taste we didn't like. Maybe the coffee rub? Just seemed hard and flavorless. And my husband and son shared a ribeye that was overdone even though they asked for medium rare. Too tough on outside for sure. The mashed potatoes still rock. And they were out of TWO their signature cocktails. Poor planning? Or take it off the menu. Not sure if the chef or management has changed but I really really hope they get it back together. As I said, this place has meant a lot to us over the years. Hope it was just an off night?

We both got drinks: moscow mule and cucumber mojito, which I really enjoyed. To start, they have a diverse menu so we had a hard time deciding, but we settled on the poke tacos and the onion soup. The onion soup was cozy and cheesy with a rich beef broth. The wonton taco shells were to die for, and we loved the wasabi crème which was the perfect amount of spicy flavor. For meals I got the filet and scampi. My steak was cooked perfectly, so tender, and wrapped in bacon with a little blue cheese sauce on top. A great flavor profile. The shrimp were cooked well, and I loved the sauce. It also came with garlic mashed potatoes which are my favorite. The only thing I would improve is the asparagus were just boiled and a little bland, but I was too full to eat them anyways. My partner got the french dip, which was "the best french dip" he had ever had. I also tried it and agree that that the ribeye meat was so tender and flavorful, au jus added the perfect moisture, and there was a good balance of horseradish flavor. Came with a side of onion rings which were great. The staff were very sweet and gave us a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. We were tempted to come back to this restaurant the following night, but we will definitely be coming back next season.
