Whitecaps is a must if you are staying in the area! Quite possibly the best pizza in all of Tahoe. We've tried many places over the years and Whitecaps is ultimately the spot we always go to. It's super busy, so definitely recommend coming early or planning your visit on a weekday. On a Saturday night, it took about 30 minutes for a table, so we sat at the bar instead. The service was good, though the food did take a while to come out. The Sopressata pizza with honey drizzle was amazing and probably the highlight of our most recent dinner. Whitecaps Pizza is a great pizza option in North Lake Tahoe. Located in Kings Beach just a short drive from Incline Village, it offers beautiful lake views, a relaxed atmosphere, and some seriously tasty pizza. The pizza is absolutely the reason I keep coming back. My longtime favorite is the Soppressata pizza with hot honey drizzle. The combination of spicy, savory, and sweet is outstanding, and it might be one of the few pizzas that's just as good the next day as leftovers. On my most recent visit, we tried the Vodka Pie on the Detroit-style crust. While I enjoyed the flavors, I discovered that the Detroit-style crust probably isn't for me. Going forward, I'll stick with their more traditional crust options, which I've consistently enjoyed over the years. The beet salad is another standout. It's beautifully presented, and the fresh dill on top adds a unique touch that works surprisingly well. My only suggestion would be to increase the portion of beets a bit, as the amount felt somewhat limited compared to the rest of the dish. The beer selection is extensive, with plenty of options for almost any taste. Wine drinkers will find a handful of choices available by the glass or half bottle, which is appreciated, although none of the wines I've tried have been particularly memorable. The biggest challenge for Whitecaps continues to be the service. While I've had a few positive experiences, I've also had multiple visits where service felt inattentive and unfriendly. It often seems difficult to get someone's attention when you need something, and there have been occasions where details were overlooked, including being served wine in a visibly dirty glass. While it was replaced when brought to their attention, the lack of acknowledgment or apology left something to be desired. That said, I continue to return because the pizza is genuinely that good. Between the lake views, the casual atmosphere, the excellent beer selection, and tasty pizza. Whitecaps remains a great place to gather with friends, share an appetizer and a pizza, and enjoy a cold drink. If the service ever catches up to the quality of the food, this place could easily become a top pizza option in NLT. read more

I ordered take out so no review of service (? Stars) and interior. I ordered the 12" veggie meat combo. They told me it would be ready in a half hour and it was. The crust was crispy and there were a load of veggies and meat. The price was average ($25). Overall the pizza was good (4 stars) and I could have it again. The only issue was that the handicap parking space was the furthest parking space (2 Stars) from the main entrance. I was told it was because in the summer the rear entrance is mainly used. Dog unfriendly, poor customer service and average food. We drove an hour to eat there with our dog and were told by a middle aged man that we had to sit outside, fine. It was the hottest time of the day and the whole patio had no cover at all so we asked if they could provide covering. The man was like "no, we can't do anything, sit under the sun with your dog or leave" and left. We opt to place a takeout order and eat somewhere else instead. But when we asked for utensils and other supplies, the cashier lady that placed our order was visibly annoyed and unwilling. We ordered Detroit style pizza, it was 80 percent crust. Whitecaps is a short walk from Kings Beach recreation area. There's also a small lot and some street parking. The indoor space is a bit small but they also have a spacious back patio. We chose indoor seating and lucked out with lake views. The focus on the menu is pizza but they also feature, salads, sandwiches and pastas. I ordered the 12 inch vegan which had a shaved brussel sprouts, peppers, arugula, mushrooms, artichoke and onions. The crust was perfectly crisp and I ended up with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Service was friendly and attentive and the ambiance is causal and chill. Really enjoyed a late lunch early dinner here. It was getting crowded later in the day (we were done eating by 4 and walked by later, to see a line forming outside.) Dropped by on Mother's Day for a bite. Dom came by quickly to get us started. He's a joy and knowledgeable on all things Whitecaps! Started with a round of drinks - you must try the 2 Towns "Spring Forward" - from the bar and an appetizer of cheesy garlic bread. Cold drinks, hot apps! Next arrived some amazing pizzas! A Meat Lover, a specialty pizza for the ladies - it had Gorgonzola cheese, pine nuts, white sauce and Argentinian Red shrimp, and other goodies. Food was good! Everything tasted fresh. No complaints about the food itself. Knocking off one star for the service though. We were in Tahoe for a family trip so we had a large group. Apparently they don't host large groups so they said we would have to be split up into 2 tables. Ok, that's totally fine! We only asked to be seated outside (since we had a dog), near each other if possible, and to have it under one bill. Doesn't seem like difficult requests, but the hosts were giving us annoyed looks, and kept repeating that they would have to speak to the servers first about it. The tone they were giving off seemed like they were doing us a favor, so we didn't really appreciate that. Reservations definitely recommended if you can get one. This place is a local's favorite and gets very busy. The service staff was very nice and polite, hostesses were extremely accommodating. Servers were a little bit overwhelmed, so unfortunately, we had to wait a while for a drink refills, which is why this isn't a perfect score. Also our pizza arrived hot, but it was a little overdone. You can see in the photos. The flavors were delicious, crust was more like a cracker, but I can only attribute that to potentially how busy they were. The kitchen might've been as overwhelmed as the staff. The location is awesome with the Lake view, but this place is small and can be jampacked with people. The walkways are extremely narrow so it makes it hard for servers to get around while patrons are finding their way to their seats or their friends. Overall, the food was good, but I would recommend ordering to go and take it to the free public beach. Hoping to return and change my review to five stars on a less busy night. read more

Tahoe has a food culture that is more casual and my partner and I didn't find too many memorable dining experiences, but we decided to take a trip out to King's Beach and fell in love with Whitecaps Pizza so much that we visited them two days in a row! We always like to have a meal here. The view is nice and the pizza is piping hot and crispy from the hot oven. This time two of us ordered a small Cesar salad and a small Meat Lovers pizza with mushrooms added. It was a perfect hot meal for a cold day. Their parking lot had a limited number of spaces. So I've been going to this place for many years. I forgot last year they went and changed the format. You can no longer get half-and-half. To me that is absolutely stupid of the management.
