Love it!
Inverleith F.

Being a huge fan of supporting local businesses, I couldn't help but want to have lunch here given the unique decor and varied menu. We waited less than a minute to be seated at a two top. It took us some time to decide on what to eat given the variety of options. Just about everything is priced at 19.99 or less which makes cost a non factor. It's also easy to be distracted by the wall decor featuring signed dollar bills, stickers and writing everywhere. We finally landed in the huevos with over easy eggs and the avocado toast. My huevos were really good! Combination of black beans, mushrooms, pico, half of a ripe avocado and cotija cheese was perfect! The red salsa was smoky and sweet too. Potatoes are small squares that are cooked to be a bit crispy. Hubby enjoyed his toast and took half home because it was a generous portion. Happy to come back to try other items because it all looks good. While the restaurant is part of a small chain, it certainly felt very local.

Lake Taco Omelette with Carne Asada

Based off of the reviews, my friends and I were expecting great things from Squeeze In. The vibes are very cute and homey, though I think the food can be greatly improved. When we went at around 11am on a Sunday, they were out of 50% of the dishes we tried to order, which was a little strange. I ordered the Lake Taco Omelette with Carne Asada. I thought it was good, but really dry. Aside from the actual meat in the omelet, everything else lacked basic seasoning. Our service was really slow and inattentive (they seem very understaffed), but they were quite friendly. We all agreed we would not come again, but Squeeze In was a unique one-off experience.

At here on a Sunday and we came a few minutes after they opened. Which was good because by the time we left there was a line out the door. So come early to skip a crazy long line. The food was good.

Breakfast burrito with bacon

Great breakfast/brunch spot!! Loved the laid back vibe and diner feel! Staff were all super friendly and the service was insanely quick for a busy Saturday morning! Tried the hot mocha which was SO good, and it came with whipped cream and sprinkles on top. All our food looked and tasted great! I had the breakfast burrito with bacon and it was a very solid meal. Tasted great and was a very generous portion, I had the other half for breakfast the next day!

Classic Chad Burger

Great service, love the old building with all the character. Food was delicious. I had the Classic Chad Burger. Burger party was tasty but I'd prefer just a little pink to my burgers...this one was cooked to well done. It was still a good burger. I did think the giant leaf of romaine lettuce was a bit much. My personal preference is iceberg on a burger, romaine stems are tough to eat. Fries were perfectly done and very good. Brioche bun was nicely toasted with some juicy tomatoes and red onions, it was a very good burger (once I removed the lettuce). Staff were very friendly and the decor is great. Next time in town think I'll try their breakfast!

The place it's unique and the food made to order delicious !! The service it's amaizimg you feel welcomed and he coffee just made as we need it . Perfect place in Truckee

Came here on Mother's Day with my daughter and husband while the food was good, the service unfortunately made the experience disappointing. Every time we asked a question, it felt like we were bothering our server. I was not rude or demanding at all and honestly just assumed maybe she was having a bad day, so I tried to be understanding. What really hurt was watching flowers being given to all the other mothers around us while I was skipped over completely. It may seem small, but on Mother's Day it definitely stood out and made me feel unwelcome. We still tipped 25% because we understand restaurant days can be stressful, but it was hard not to notice the difference in how warmly other tables were treated compared to ours. The food itself was enjoyable, but the customer service left a lasting impression.

Inedible French toast and root hash tasted
Anna W.

Because I am Forced by yelp to give one star....As soon as we sat down and I read on the menu this was a chain, my heart sunk. And it shows in the quality. everything I ordered was inedible. The French toast was Rock hard and tasted like it had been sitting out for weeks. The root hash tasted uncooked. The Misty's mocha was day old drip coffee with a splash of hersheys syrup. I had to send most of my order back which I never do. The two servers both seemed miserable which is ironic for a place with good people good vibes on the door. It was just incredibly disappointing for our only meal in Truckee. Of all the options you have, make this your last choice.

A few people on the patio, but otherwise fairly slow. I was pleasantly surprised by their pastry selection. Many great choices! We settled on the Thai chicken wrap, an iced coffee, some yuzu beignets, and a yogurt parfait. The service was iffy. The people were nice, but the gentleman taking our order had to clarify my wife's drink twice, even though it was a quite simple order of iced coffee with cream. It seemed like maybe he wasn't really listening. For close to $15, I was expecting the Thai chicken wrap to be a decent portion filled with protein. I was a bit disappointed to have mostly tortilla and lettuce. The flavor was good, but not such a great portion. The beignets were great, can't be beat. Perfectly tart from the yuzu inside. The yogurt parfait was well-priced, and I felt the portion was good. Overall, a cute place to grab coffee and pastries, but I would probably avoid their lunch food in the future. We enjoyed the patio space, and I felt the vibes were good. Cheers!

Definitely a popular spot as every seat was filled when we arrived! Very limited food menu--they only offer two breakfast options. Breakfast burrito (rice, black beans, cheese, and chorizo) which can be ordered with or without chorizo but no other modifications since they're all pre made. Also had a breakfast sandwich option as well. I personally wasn't a fan of the breakfast burrito but my boyfriend really enjoyed his. The rice and beans were 90% of the burrito with very tiny bits of chorizo here and there so it just didn't feel like breakfast to me and I didn't finish mine. Everyone has different tastes though so if you enjoy bean and rice burritos I'm sure you would like this!

The Experience We arrived on a Friday afternoon and, despite it being a busy time, we only had a 10-minute wait before being seated. It's a family-owned spot, and you can really feel that warmth in the service--the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved the relaxed, local vibe of the place. The Food The portions here are generous and the flavors are spot on. Here is what we tried: * The Turkey Melt: My wife ordered this and it was massive! It came on perfectly grilled sourdough with cheddar, grilled onions, turkey, bacon, and avocado. She paired it with a fresh side salad and said the sandwich was amazing. * The Tuna Melt (with a twist): I went for the tuna melt on grilled sourdough with jack cheese, tomatoes, and--the best part--jalapeños and grilled onions. It was a fantastic twist on a classic. I got the sweet potato fries on the side; they gave me a huge portion and they were delicious. * "San Julian Style" Chicken Tacos: My son got these and was really happy with his dish. You get three corn tortillas filled with chicken cooked in their homemade salsa, topped with lettuce, tomato, and avocado. They serve them with salsa and sour cream on the side--definitely a hit! Verdict We definitely recommend this place! Between the tasty food, the friendly atmosphere, and the prime location right by the water, it's easily one of our favorite finds in the area. We will definitely be back. Tip: If you're heading toward the slopes or the lake, don't just drive by--pull over and eat here!
