My most recent visit will be my last visit. When I came to get acrylic nails, they were applied horribly. The technician I got barely knew how to do her job and got up 4 times to ask different employees on how to do my nails (dip acrylic in one color). She didn't file my nails or do any proper care before starting and just started to file down with the electric filer nearly to the skin. After the fake tips were on she applied the dip so thick that it was at least 1/2 a centimeter thick and very obviously bumpy and fake looking. 3 of the nails had dip marks on them that she noticed after she finished and didn't offer to fix them, she only smiled at me after looking at them and said "it's my first time using this color" as though that's supposed to make up for the bad application. The day after I got the acrylics put on my fingers were radiating pain and felt sore/hot to the touch. Now that I've gotten them taken off I can see all of the damage left behind from her work, all of my nails are brittle and paper thin and 4 of them have huge nasty gouges that go down to the skin under my nail since she filed my natural nail down. I have to wear bandaids on my hands until my nails grow back out. I will not be coming back, I am so disappointed in the product, service, and damage to my nails that will take months to heal. I'm a veteran at getting my nails done and I have never had this type of pain during nail application/ugly nail application before or this type of damage left behind now that I've had them taken off. read more

This place is overpriced, caused me pain, and they did not do what I requested. I went in and there was no wait! I asked for almond shape nails with a French tip. They let me know they would use the nude color as the base. The man who did my nails messed up the acrylic application multiple times and had to restart. (This may be nitpicky but they did not wear gloves and the man doing my nails had a wart on his finger, this did not seem sanitary) I should have left them because I knew something was wrong. Then he over filed the sides to the point where he filed off my skin and my natural nails and caused me pain. My nails are now pointy triangles, where the top is way too skinny for the bottom. Additionally, the nude was way to dark for my very light skin tone. When I brought this up they said It would be fine in the end and it was not. The design came out very clean but did not make up for the awful shape, color, and pain I endured. After the appointment, I expressed my grievances, they said I was fine, and charged me 85$!! 85$$ for a crappy full set with no crazy design. I will not be returning read more

Got my nails done here before my trip to PR and loved it! They were so fast and nice and took care of my nails. Went in to get my nails done for my graduation ceremony and I really hated the way they turned out. My friends still make fun of me for them. The employees were really nice but if she couldn't do the design I wonder why she didn't just tell me that. The nails were super thick and chunky. Then I had to attend my graduation ceremony with nails I hated. I'm going out of town in a week so hopefully I can get them off before then. The pictures should show how horrible they were. read more

I used to come here all the time in college. It was called Celfie back then. They do hard gel really well.

I used their online booking system to make an appointment for 10 a.m. with Alex. When I got there I was sat down and a woman put foils on me to remove my acrylics. I sat there with foils on for an HOUR. The tech didn't start working on my nails until 11 and it was a man named Ben... not the person I booked my appointment with. Ben cut my fingers three different times and was a little rude when I asked a question about my nails. My nails look okay but there was something wrong with the top coat on my SNS nails because there's little bubbles on some of them and they are not smooth. Edit: nobody contacted me prior to the appointment to tell me that it was Alex's day off read more

Came in for SNS french tip. The nail tech made white tips completely uneven so I asked for them to be fixed. Their solution was to put gel over. The gel chipped less than 24 hours after service. I was there for over two hours and paid $70 for a poor quality mail service. Please avoid this place. read more

I booked two appointments about 2-3 hours ahead of time for gel manicures. I was skeptical that we would actually get in right away because it was such short notice that I booked us. To my delight, they were ready for us right when we arrived and seated us together. The salon is clean and modern, and had the best playlist ever haha. My nails look great and they didn't cut me or any shenanigans like that. I took a star off because they were *so* prompt that they only gave us about 12 seconds to pick a color, and we were never offered a beverage (which was partly why we chose this location!) Overall, it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back! read more

Made an appointment at 3:45 but was not seated until 4:30. The nails are okay but not worth $90+ at all. They did not do a second coat of chrome or made sure no black nail polish was visible. They did not polish the excess acrylic under the nail with the tool and left a lot of glue on my actual fingers. They also cut the nails shorter than I asked and were very rough with the tools. It was just not what I expected after paying that much a very average set. read more

I tried out this salon for the first time after seeing some good reviews. My appointment was at 5 and they said they were running behind which was fine. But they did not start my nails until 6:15 and then took less than an hour to do a full set of acrylic nails with gel. They did not even let the gel cure all the way so my nails were peeling off and smudged within the hour after leaving. My nails came out so bad I went to a different salon the next day to get them removed. The nail technician told me the acrylic they use is banned by the FDA (MMA, (Methyl methacrylate) ) and they should not be using this as it causes damage to the nails. She had to scrape it off and it took an hour to get everything off my nails. read more

Honestly, I feel like I'm being nice giving one star. As soon as I walked in I was rushed to pick a color then she didn't even finish taking off my polish before passing me onto a guy who was on the phone the entire time. He proceeded to scrape my nail to the point where it chipped. (PS there were only 3 people in the salon) By that point I told him I would pay for what he did and that I just wanted to leave. Even after seeing I was unhappy they still made me pay $10 for this. read more

Updating my review because of what happened 4 months back. It took my nails 4 months to grow back to normal. I got a bad nail extension job from elsewhere and I decided to get that removed at Celfie salon. They did not only remove the extensions and the top cost of whatever is used to stick three but also ended up grinding too deep into my raw nails which made them very thin. My nails were thinned so much that they wouldn't grow and tear out from places. To grow the whole length out, it took me so many months. It's not the fact that I couldn't have long nails for so long but that I had to deal with very unhealthy , bloody, broken looking ugly nails for so long. I don't think anything can get that time back. Old review: Good service and prices. They are clean too which is important at nail salons. They have a lot of options in colors and styles. Very friendly service from my nail tech. Was not impressed with the shaping of my nails at all. Was also not impressed with the way the shellac was applied. With my usual salon I'm used to the color being filled in as close as possible to my nail bed and this edge to be very clean and crisp. The shellac was very thick on the tips of my nail and didn't quite reach into my nail beds. I liked my nail art. It cost $8 to get a heart on each of my ring fingers. A little pricey for the simplicity. Did not use clean tools on my hands, had to remove dead skin from the cuticle cutting tool before using it on me. Overall I spent 2 hours there for a shellac manicure and a pedicure and my total was $68 before any tip. My usual salon is $65 and that's including a 20% tip. Will probably be returning to my old salon because of this. I wouldn't say this is a bad salon, just not awesome. Granted I'm a little picky because I've had shellac done probably 100 times. read more

I've tried two other places in Austin that made me think I should just give up on getting my nails done in this city. Thankfully, Celfie proved me wrong. Here's what I loved: 1) The general atmosphere is very relaxing. The music was a soft, pleasant piano track and that the TV was muted with subtitles. That said, they do have wi-fi for the strange creatures who like to get work done while getting pedicures. 2) Sammy and Hang are absolute dolls They're easy to talk to and perfectly enthusiastic about customer service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, was offered a drink and a baked treat, and even got a quick neck massage after my nails! (There was a third person working there, but I didn't get a chance to talk to him.) 3) They have tons of color choices (both gel and regular) that are all very well organized. Another plus: there's no rush to make a decision 4) Hang did a fabulous job with my gel manicure. She fixed my nasty cuticles right up and my nails look perfect! She was very intent on making sure everything was just right--from nail shape to even color application. I also heard Sammy ask another girl if the french tip was the thickness she wanted. I love this! Why don't all nail salons do this!? It's so so so much better than leaving the salon feeling disappointed. Other general points: --I walked in around 4:30 and only waited 5 minutes, but it did stay consistently busy. Basically: an appointment can't hurt, but if you don't mind waiting 10 minutes, walk ins are probably fine --Open Sundays. Score. --There are plenty of nice pedicure chairs (8, I think?) I can't wait to go back to try one. --Impeccably clean As you can tell, I'm over the moon for this place and am thrilled that they're in my neighborhood. Do yourself a favor and check them out the next time you want to treat yourself! read more

Excellent service from all staff. Love the sign in system and salon layout. Hai did a great job on my nails. I had a broken nail he repaired and took his time fixing me up. Did not have a great experience at Celfie. If you do dip DO NOT go here. My nails look like a 5 year old painted them - bumpy, rough edges, and do not have a smooth appearance. No cuticle care, nail maintenance, etc. In addition, the man who painted my nails was completely rude and unapologetic of my complaints. I would highly NOT recommend this place if you're looking for a quality experience. read more

Since moving up North, and thus further away from my favorite salon, D'Zire Nails, I figured I should find a new go-to spot. I really only get my nails done once or twice a year, but sometimes you just want your nails and feet to look pretty, you know? (I usually paint my own nails, but nail shaping still eludes me and so does cuticle trimming. Might as well let someone do it who knows what they are doing!) I asked for just a regular manicure and pedicure because I'm a pretty no-frills sort of person. They have a pretty great selection of nail polish, but I brought my own. (I have a pretty serious nail polish collection and two of the colors from the Essie 2015 Spring collection were just asking to be used.) From start to finish, I was there for less than 45 minutes, which is seriously awesome if you are in a time crunch. (Or, you know, if you have to go to work immediately afterward.) Less than an hour for both services? That's a win in my book. I was offered something to read and something to drink while sitting - I declined both, but it appears that they have several drink options. The massage chair also didn't make me feel like I was being taken on a wild ride. I usually don't turn it on because they can be a little too intense for me, but this one was excellent! The services themselves were great and very professional. I arrived a little after they opened and there was only one other person there, so I was helped immediately. Great! Someone got started on my pedicure and then, a few minutes later, someone got started on my manicure. (I didn't catch either person's name and I feel really badly about that!) Everything was quick, but not rushed, and very clean. They line the bowls with plastic wrap before they put water or your feet in, which I really like. All of the tools were sanitized and they didn't use anything on other customers that they used on me. They evened out my nail length, filed them evenly in the shape I asked for, and there were no nicks or cuts as they trimmed my cuticles. They had a very gentle touch and nothing hurt AND the guy must have had some kind of crazy skill to not tickle my feet when he was exfoliating them. I have the most ticklish feet and that part always has me squirming in my chair, but I barely even noticed this time. The polish is not too thick, which is great and allows it to dry quickly and evenly. (And I loooove the colors.) Next time, I'll have to get some nail art because the pictures look awesome. Both services only cost $45, which is very reasonable. With tip, I was out of there for a little less than $60 - not too bad! I'm very pleased with the quality of the service and I'll definitely return when I'm looking for a quick way to pamper myself before work. Thanks, Celfie! read more

Color selection is good. Vibe is cool. Free wine, water, or soda. It's hard to find a good nail place for a reasonable price when you move to a new city but I think this one fits that description. Celfie has a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and they're very attentive. The guy who did my nails did so in a way that was more calming than most places. You know, like when they rush through your acrylics like they need to go catch a flight lmao. I got the Regular Pedicure for $30 {scrub, hot towels, callus removal, lotion, color} and my acrylics for $30 which were a plain color. The girls around me were also talking about how much they love their nails. A girl complained about her gel not looking right and the guy apologized in a really friendly way and sat her down to fix it with no switch to another language to talk crap. I was impressed!! If you've never watched Anjelah Johnson's stand up on nail salons just go do that right after this. Haha It's so on point here's the link: http://youtu.be/GoqcAe06Fz8 I like the drying station that has a drying area for your feet under the desk as well as the hands on top of the desk all in one spot. Clean shop. It's gorgeous on the inside. The asked sat me down right away with a tech that didn't even offer his name. He filed all the color off my nails, and then started filing down the edges. He filed, and filed, and filed so much down on my left thumb nail, that he went almost through my nail. I yanked it away in pain. Then he removed my broken, filed the hell outta that nail, attached a new tip, and cut it. Without looking to see how long my other nails are, so it's noticeably shorter than all my other nails. I had the almond shaped, and asked to have them rounded, and they're still almond shape. When he started doing the fill, he did the thinnest possible layer, and I had to ask for 4 different nails to be filled all the way to the bottom, because he hadn't even filled on that side. We get to the polishing portion, and I asked for a gray shellac, to which he said that they didn't have, which was amazing to me because color #060 was a gray, but he could have having an off day with that too, even when I mentioned the number. Layer one one, layer two on, find a big spot from the file and files off the top layer of my pinky nail, slaps some top coat on, and keeps it moving. The owner stops by and asks if I like them, and I say no, and explain why, to which the man said that I was wrong, and I got frustrated. All of my nail beds are sore from all the filing. The paint is uneven, and full of bubbles. They're not painted to cover the entirety of the nail, and in other places it's on the side of my finger. The owner offered to fix it, and was apologetic, and offered 10% off to come in again, which is why I'm giving the 2 stars. She was very nice, but after the man said I was wrong, I was over the whole situation, and wanted to go. I can't speak for all the other techs. But if you get the guy, with the year old puppy, because cautious. read more

I give this place any stars because of the comfortable pedicure chairs and the massage that came with the pedicure, which were both great. The woman who did my nails kept messing up and getting lots of polish on my skin. She then tried to clean it up but messily. When she was done with my nails, I noticed there being some bubbles on my thumb nail, so I pointed it out. She proceeded to not say anything but transfer me over to another woman, who could speak better English but had such an attitude. The woman spoke to me in a tone and kept saying "this is for you", "are you happy", and "I do this cause you pay for it", things that did not sound very amicable and in a rude tone. When I examined my nails after leaving, I found the skin around my nails to look dry and chapped, unlike any other manicure I've gotten. There were still polish remnants on my skin. OMG. I think I found my new nail salon! I am so overly excited with the shellac manicure that I received from here that I'm here to tell you all about it and give them 5 stars before I even get a pedicure. First off, the place is super clean and a major upgrade from the previous owners. They have about 4 books of gel colors to choose from and their regular polish selection is relatively large as well. They serve white or red wine, a couple different kinds of tea and water, which are all great options. Unfortunately, now that I'm writing this I'm realizing I didn't get the name of the wonderful tech who did my nails! Nonetheless, she was great! Paid the most attention to detail that I've experienced in Austin and gave me a perfect WHITE shellac mani in only 2 coats! She was careful with my cuticles (which I already don't like having done) and even made sure to get the excess gel from under my nails before sending me off. I really appreciate the extra care and time she took with me and will be back to see what else Celfie has to offer! read more

Quality of Tammy's work was awesome. With that being said I feel that it was very overpriced. For $100 (with tip) I got beautiful acrylics with amazing detail. My biggest issue was that there was little grooming before my acrylics were put on. My nails were grown out and they were not trimmed, there was no cuticle work done or cleaning up around the nails. Again I'm pleased with how it looks but I think there were quite a few short cuts taken which made it not worth the price to me.
