This allowed for easy access and in this part of town that can be challenging to come by. The desk staff are very nice and helpful. Someone came in 30+ minutes early for their appointment and instead of making it a big deal they offered them the use of the sauna. I thought this was really great and showcased that the spa really does prioritize guest experience. The level of communication pre appointment was great and supportive. I was on a wait list for my service and was texted about an earlier opening. My actual procedure was also a great experience. The esthetician was incredibly knowledgeable and provided great insight around aftercare and follow-up. Shout out to Kristin(en) she was great and it was also her birthday. Then 15 minutes later, once I approached the front desk they checked with the clinical area to bring me back, the delay extended another 15 minutes once in the room waiting for the doctor. When I addressed the wait time, I was told directly that my appointment was not a priority compared to other patients and that this wasn't a cosmetic space --an unacceptable statement to make to any client -- which I was aware of. After waiting, I requested to speak with management. The ensuing interaction lacked any proactive acknowledgment of the situation but was followed up later with an apology after I explained my disappointment with the lack of expectations when it comes to waiting times. After we discussed the breakdown in customer service and I agreed to proceed with the appointment, I was informed minutes later that the doctor had moved on to another patient and I had been passed over and would have to wait another 30 minutes to be seen. In any aesthetic or medical practice, the client experience should be built on clear expectations and mutual respect. This experience was dismissive and disorganized. I was at a loss of words whenever I was turned around to look at my reflection and see that I got something completely different from what I had asked. The stylist seemed excited, and I just looked at her in disbelief. She asked if I wanted her to change anything, but you can't paste hair back on, so I mustered out a stoic "no"...didn't want more of my hair to be butchered off. Hair grows back, I get that, but I specifically went here to get my bangs shaped for special events that I knew I was going to be photographed multiple times for. Little did I know it was going to ruin my memory of each one.

I never really knew the extent to which a good aesthetician goes in order to provide clients with a knowledgeable, safe experience....until I met Meg. I never really put much thought or care into my skin, but then I fought (and beat!) skin cancer. Meg jumped right in and provided me with amazing products to help with the scarring, and now I'm addicted to her stuff (especially her amazing sunscreen!). I sent my friend to Pretty Bird last month, Meg worked magic on her skin! She actively researched my friend's skin issues before they met, and had a regimen of natural products ready to help. Meg does waxing of course, and very skillfully, but she goes much further as an aesthetician. She makes people feel beautiful and pampered, with renewed hope and positivity. You can try another studio, but you'll come back to Pretty Bird again and again. Rock on, Meg! read more

From the front parking lot, go toward the left - the entrance for 2nd and 3rd-floor businesses is tucked away in the side. Go up the stairs/elevator to the third floor, then through the glass doors marked "Jamilla Salon and Spa" and down the hallway to the very end. Aqua Luna is the door on the right, with a cute white wrought-iron sign post over it. I filled out some quick paperwork, then got comfy in the heated bed and relaxed for an hour. Ashley was fantastic about explaining each step as she went along, and there were no bad surprises. I opted for the deep pore facial as I've been breaking out of late, and she gave me some great advice on how to minimize future issues. I also added on the optional enzyme peel, which felt great and left my skin feeling refreshed and oh-so-clean. The environment was soothing, relaxing and very clean; I wasn't at all worried about hygiene or privacy. I've never particularly cared for facials in the past - they're *nice*, but nothing I thought worth writing home about. But my experience at Aqua Luna was fantastic, and I'll not only be back - I'll buy some gift certificates for friends as well.
