I was in town from Dallas and looking for a quick fix - not only did Lisa fit me in within a half-hour of my desperate plea, she was as sunny and adorable as she could possibly be. She was efficient, informative, and funny - all VERY important when you're trying your best to not be a repressed WASP-y sort on the table. I came here last Friday to see Lisa for my sugar wax. I was recommended from my regular esthetician to come here since not many places in Austin offer sugar waxes and Fiona (my regular esthi) said she was good. Well I am glad I listed to her because Lisa was awesome. Running a bit behind schedule but I get it. It happens! Lisa did a very good job with my wax. She also was talking to me during the process which made it more comfortable since I have never been there before. 15 minutes later we were done and good to go. At the time her credit card machine was not working but she sent out a text to the wrong number. That was all my fault though because I entered it wrong when I scheduled my appointment online. This was my second waxing experience, first Brazilian. I had done a full wax in September with regular wax at another place. I remember it was painful and left some red bumps for a few days. I found Lisa because I was looking specifically for sugar waxing versus traditional wax. She is a bit of a drive for me, but I continue to do it because she sugars and because she is quick and great conversation. She has great availability and you can schedule online. Twice I've had to change appointments at the last minute and she's always really great about it. I just leave her a message and she will either text me or just adjust my appointment and I will receive a confirmation email. As for the actual wax, what can I say, it hurts! While Lisa and the service (sugar Brazilian) were all ok, definitely don't go here expecting a spa-type service. While the linens were fresh they were stained and unlike other waxing experiences I've had, she didn't put down any additional towels or paper on top of the linen that covered the bench. While she uses Alexandria sugar she only otherwise used Johnson & Johnson baby powder and not the full suite of Alexandria products that other sugar waxes that I've been to in the past have used. Before going to Lisa, I made sure that I did my research on the best places to go in Austin for a good old fashioned sugaring. All signs pointed to her and her spa, so I decided to check it out. I swore off waxing a few months ago due to the pain, so finding someone great was important to me...Lisa was exactly that. Upon arrival I was escorted to the room where the "procedure down under" would take place. After getting ready for the big show, Lisa came in and immediately started making conversation to make things more comfortable. She carried on the whole time and it was never awkward (like it can sometimes be). Now, I will say, there was definitely still pain. Still quite a bit of pain BUT I hadn't gotten a wax in long time so that was to be expected. She told me that the more maintenance and upkeep, the better it gets.
