Just had an excellent facial with Olivia! From the second you walk into this intimate spa, you can tell the business is run incredibly well. The receptionist is friendly and welcoming, and even though I accidentally arrived 30 min early (whoops - that's what I get for trying to schedule in travel time on my calendar) she acted as if she wouldn't be bothered if I waited. I didn't - I came back. Olivia was great. I got the Mint & Thyme signature facial, which included a back, shoulder, and head massage and a foot scrub! On top of a thorough facial for less than $100? Yes please. Their beds are cozy and warm, and Olivia told me from the start that she wouldn't talk unless I had questions, so I was super relaxed. I've been massively stressed out these days, so this wasn't an easy feat. All of the products she used smelled food derived ie like coconut, cocoa butter etc, which is right up my alley. She did some thorough extractions too, but mentioned if I didn't want them she wouldn't. My skin was very glowy afterwards, and I was so relaxed I was nearly asleep. Ashley is my go-to gal for all things skin. I was never much of a facial person, always opting for a massage when I found myself craving some pampering, but Ashley converted me. My skin has never looked better. She only uses product lines that she believes in, never pushes product or services on you, takes the time to figure out your skincare needs, and provides a custom facial complete with a gentle peel and oxygen. She has the most calming presence and is so knowledgeable. Plus, she has a masters degree in acupuncture, so she can treat your aches, pains, fertility, and the like. I completely trust Ashley to take the best possible care of me whenever I come in for a visit. Ashley and several colleagues just struck out on their own to open Mint and Thyme, which is a cute-as-can-be space tucked away in an unassuming building conveniently located in central Austin between Lamar and Guadalupe. I've been a client of Mint and Thyme for 4 or 5 years now. I have gone to a lot of spas in Austin (and I still do if I need a last minute appt and can't get one with M&T) sometimes for relaxation, sometimes for help with adult hormonal acne, but Mint and Thyme is the one I keep returning to. That's because the staff is incredibly friendly, the environment is great, and they do an excellent job. Their services are also reasonably priced! Not a bargain exactly, but I feel that I always get a little more--whether it's a sample kit or a scalp massage--than I paid for. The estheticians are also very honest and transparent. No snake oil peddling here, which I really appreciate. I have asked several times about my acne scars and each time they explain my options, the timeline, and the cost. I can't afford to do laser treatment and they are super respectful of that and do the best they can with topicals. And importantly, they never pretend like topical treatment is going to be as fast or effective as lasers. They make realistic promises and then keep them which feels great as a customer. They also really prioritize the health of your skin and will discourage aggressive treatment if your skin isn't in good shape for it, even when the aggressive treatment has a higher price tag. I really feel like it's more important to them that a customer return with improving skin than to get a $15 or $50 up-sell on the appointment. Lastly, I was blown away by the turn around time for my online order! Usually I buy in-person from them, but with my moisturizer almost out and the quarantine likely to last another month or two, I figured I'd give it a shot. My order arrived in less than 24 hours with a handwritten note from Trish, one of the owners. And no extra charge for shipping. I was totally blown away! And honestly shocked- I still don't know how she managed to get it through the post that fast. Anyway, I'd strongly recommend Mint and Thyme to anyone. And I recommend it even more now! If you need any products during quarantine, seriously consider buying from them. I really want these guys to be around when it's lifted, because no one else checks all the boxes like they do : ) read more

It was a short work week for me and what better way to start the weekend off than with a massage! I came here based on yelp reviews glad I did! It is hard to find, but what is inside is a hidden oasis. Even though it's hard to find (small signage) the location is awesome--- centrally located with good parking! I laid down on the table and felt instantly relaxed. They used a rose scented lotion that put me to sleep almost! Best way to unwind from the week. I try to book massage appoints every two months or so I have a desk job so my jobs get knotted up pretty quickly. The massage left me feeling instantly relaxed - always a good sign. Mint and Thyme had been on my list of spas to try out so I decided to book a 45-minute customized facial. Emma was so sweet and an amazing person to do my first facial there for me. After my mini consultation with her, I got dressed and lied down in the heated bed, which was super nice and comforting. The facial overall made me very relaxed and I loved the smells of all the products that were used on my face and chest. The scalp and shoulder massage made me doze off for a second or two throughout the facial as well. When I finished, I felt all my stress go away. The second stop in my day of jet-lagged pampering. I called Mint and Thyme and simply stated that I was looking to get a facial and they were able to fit me in for the afternoon. I've only ever had one previously, so wasn't sure what to ask for or expect. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment to fill out a form - It went through a fairly detailed list of concerns/thoughts and skincare desires. My aesthetician, Ashley, carefully reviewed the information and we sat and discussed thoroughly. She immediately picked up on some symptoms I had been working to address and made recommendations for further care (i.e. Acupuncture). The room itself was cute and cozy. The bed is comfortable and they have this awesome warm jelly pillow (I need one, and they sell them!). The facial itself was...magical. There were several parts to it, including a lactic peel, oxygen, and all sorts of wonderful smelling concoctions. Ashley also recommended (and performed) a simple type of hair removal in the process and even cleaned up my brows. The best part, besides the nearly painless extractions, was the massage! I had a massage earlier in the day, but I was happy to receive another. She focused on my neck and shoulders; and not a half-assed "I have to do this" thing, she really worked the kinks. She's amazing at it and uses the time where she has hot or cold presses on your face; so you don't feel as if you're paying for a facial you're not getting. Afterwards Ashley took time to walk me through a suggested skincare regimen and offered some samples - no sales pitch. When I inquired about monthly scheduling she offered more budget friendly options. $65 for the facial, $30 for the dermaplaning (hair removal) and I was in there for about 90 glorious minutes. I have had the good fortune of having services by all of them over the past several years, so I will just share my experiences with each of them: There is only one person I trust to do do my Botox in the entire country and that person is Ashely (did I mention I work for company that trains people how to do Botox, and I could easily get it for free...but I choose to pay Ashley...cuz she is JUST THAT GOOD!) ( I also live in another state but still choose to have her do it) I have also had facials, laser hair removal, and IPLs from her as well. I have yet to get acupuncture, but she is the go to person of all of my friends, and I can't wait to try it. Trisha gave me one of the most amazing facials I have ever had in my life, with a head massage that put me to sleep. She also is quite the expert with the laser, she is very professional, and knows exactly what she is doing. When you get a treatment from her, you know you are getting a safe treatment from someone with the proper training who takes your safety seriously, while getting you the results you want. I cannot tell you how great it is not having to shave anymore. When it came time to choose someone to do my wedding makeup, only one name came to mind: STEPHANIE. I know she will bring out my best features, while hiding my not so great ones, and I wont come out looking like a streetwalker. She also gives a great facial with a fabulous shoulder massage. I also seen her for IPL and for laser over the years, and I can assure you: she is professional and amazing. There is a reason she has such a loyal following of clients who love her. I know this may sound a little too positive, but I have to give credit where credit is due. I have been to spas that cost four times as much, and they cannot live up to these ladies. I was in the market for a photofacial & selected Mint & Thyme based off their excellent reviews on Yelp. Yelp did not disappoint! My experience with Mint & Thmye was wonderful. Stephanie, one of the co-founders, did the photofacial and she was super gentle & explained everything she was doing. Since photofacials can be a little startling (bright light & minor sting), she was sure that I knew where she was about to zap and made sure I was comfortable. She was a pleasure to talk to as well. It's been over four days since I received the photofacial and I'm extremely happy with the results. The results are exactly what I was looking for and exactly what Stephanie said would probably happen. I can't wait to book another appointment there in the future. I love Mint and Thyme! I had never had a facial before coming here, but decided to get one to help my skin glow for my wedding day :) I had Angela and she did an amazing job. I have very sensitive skin and was worried I might have some kind of reaction, but through our consultation she asked great questions and determined which gentle products to use on me. She also gives the BEST head and neck massage I've ever had. It's like a dream. A few days before my wedding, I came in with my mom and my aunt. I thought it would be a fun part of our "girls day" together.
