Stopped here for the first time, after spending some time on the river nearby! There was no lines, the service was fast and friendly. We ordered a "happy camper," a summer menu item that's a s'mores inspired macchiato. This one was great & wasn't overly sweet like Starbucks! I was really excited to have a coffee shop on Hwy 21, near Harris Ranch. I have been there six times and now am not so excited. I won't return, Why? --it's SO expensive without matching value. Example: The price of one shot--ONE SHOT--of espresso is $2.65. !! --The pastries are adequate and not deserving of double the price of the same item at other stores. --The pastries, when heated, stick to the bag. Great spot for coffee and pastries! The Coffee Mill is located right in the middle of Harris Ranch in Southeast Boise alongside the infamous ice cream shop "The Still." My iced latte was awesome! The Coffee Mill puts three shots of espresso in their large iced drinks so I was definitely a fan of that! Also, my mom's blended beverage was really good but was definitely on the sweet side. If you order one of their blended espresso drinks and do not like very sweet drinks, I recommend asking for less pumps of syrup. We did order two pastries from their pastry case; a marion berry scone and a bear claw. The marion berry scone was a hit but the bear claw was on the dryer side and looked more like a croissant. Also, it did not have enough sugar so it lacked flavor. All in all, awesome spot for coffee! read more

Literally every where you go bacon breakfast burritos are potato, bacon, eggs, and cheese but this place thinks they want to be fancy and puts onions in them! Why don't they put the onions in the veggie burrito, wouldn't that make more sense? People that like onions will still eat the bacon breakfast burrito if there are no onions in them! All they're doing is excluding all the people who don't like onions, bad business strategy! I've told them literally 100 times they need to take the onions out but they won't listen, so for that reason I'm giving one star! I'll edit my review after they stop putting onions in them! PS. Bought 4 breakfast burritos, drove less than 2 minutes to get home, only to discover than 2 of the 4 burritos weren't even warm. They were pre-made and COLD. There were hardly any other customers there, so it's not like they were in a rush. They just gave us cold food. Thankfully we were going home and could put them in the oven ourselves. We spent over $50 on coffee and burritos and it was a complete waste. The customer service was also terrible--we felt as if we were inconveniencing them by even ordering. We had questions and the girl helping us acted annoyed that we were even asking them. We will not be returning. I'm so glad to see another food and beverage option open in the hood! A coffee shop has been on the wish list for years and so far Steve and his crew have not disappointed. This only the second day of operation so they are still working out some kinks in supply and demand. Food. The egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich is pretty solid. Prepared ahead of time, it's heated up and not bad. The ham is high quality sliced deli meat vs a chunk of Canadian bacon. My husband had the bacon version and said it was good too. Drinks Iced lattes were great. I usually judge coffee by its hot version, so I may come back to this. But this was delicious. My son enjoyed his strawberry banana smoothie. Ambiance I am really going to like hanging out here! Fireplace, couch, and plenty of outlets for charging will make this a prime location for study, resting, or grading. My only complaint is with the high stools. Everyone it seems is going to these terribly uncomfortable metal chairs where the backs wrap around. For those of us endowed in the back, they're horrible. But-- they're pretty popular right now so there's that. Other Wine and beer selection look solid! Grabbed a blended caramel mocha, an egg sandwich, and a boysenberry scone in the drive-thru and was not super impressed with any of my choices. The drink was average, the scone was too sweet and slightly burned and I couldn't finish it, and the egg sandwich was a basic egg round on an English muffin, so nothing to write home about. The atmosphere in this little coffee shop off Warm Springs is wonderful. It's kind of modern with a warm feeling. The specialty coffees featured are too pricey for what you get. The coffee is tasty but overall disappointed in the pricing. The location is super accessible for those who live in the Harris Ranch area as well as North East Boise area. Their coffee menu seems to be a bit limited although the beans used are very good. I've tried the fresh brewed coffee with a little bit of cream and it's tasty. I've also tried the Bogus Basin latte drink along with other holiday flavors offered. They were wonderful as well. The pastries are from Gaston bakery, which is located in Boise - west Overland Road. They've never disappointed especially the ham and cheese croissant - yum... very good! They do offer other breakfast items, as well as a short lunch list of items to munch on. One thing that makes it great to visit over and over is the great service. It's great to have a coffee shop (that's not the predictable Starbucks variety) near by. I have to admit I'm a bit of a coffee snob, but I find the coffee/espresso at The Coffee Mill to be sooooo good. Since they opened a week or so ago, I've been back twice and the coffee was great each time. Smooth and exactly what I look for in my latte. Their egg sandwiches are quite good, although they could provide condiments, like ketchup. Just the basics. They are still working out some kinks but that's to be expected. I can already see a big improvement from the first time we visited (2 days after they opened). The owner was so nice and was found right alongside his employees working hard to follow through on good customer service. I love that they also have beer and wine on the menu, not only does this set them apart from all of the other coffee shops in Boise, they have a great seating area to enjoy the beverage of your choice. Hopefully we will see some afternoon tapas to compliment the Wine and Beer selection. Cheese plates, etc. Great addition to southeast boise. I'm hooked already. read more

I waited over 20 minutes for my drinks to be made. In those 20 minutes I checked in three times, I was very polite. I told them I was in a rush. They proceeded to make other peoples drinks. The Cafe Vita espresso that they bring in from Seattle is the best that I've had in Boise thus far! The ladies who work there are friendly and professional. They have a nice patio as well as a comfortable indoor space and some books to read. I go out of my way to get espresso here! I need to find out if they have wi fi because it's quiet there during the day and I would like to do my schoolwork there in order to get out of the house more. I have been the the Coffee Mill in Harris Ranch about six times in the past year and every time I am disappointed (understatement) by the service. I don't require happy and bubbly service, such as one would see at Dutch Bros BUT the Coffee Mill staff are borderline catatonic. The staff me of an episode of House where a father and daughter end up having a genetic disorder that displays, "Anhedonia" [a diverse array of deficits in hedonic function, including reduced motivation or ability to experience pleasure.] It may seem like I am being hyperbolic but I have never experienced a joyful expression from any staff member. They appear disinterested and/or possess disdain for being there. The coffee is fine and the food is also just fine. I do fee that this establishment "get's away with it" because it is nestled in a very middle-class residential community that fits a certain lifestyle - indifferent to service standards because of proximity and convenience. I do hope things improve but if the staff can't even "fake-it-til-they-make-it" then I would rather support other establishments serving the same purpose. In fact, I would recommend some budding entrepreneur to open up another coffee shop in the same general area to compete! read more

I've recently started drinking espresso for a pick me up and over the last couple of weeks I've hit up 5-6 different brands around the valley. This is the only one that stood out as a place I had no interest in going back to. The espresso was extremely bitter and not at all enjoyable. It wasn't until I had it yesterday that I remembered the first and only time I'd been there previously (a few months ago) and had an americano and was very bitter and sub-par, which makes sense as it would be from the same beans. I love the location of it, but I'll be sticking to Beans & Brews when passing by that direction. read more
