I used to go here all the time to study as they have free wireless. They have samiches too. I'm keeping the 4 stars short of 5 because, The word of late is that they no longer let you plug in your laptop. What the?? Reason: too high of an electricity bill. I don't believe it!! I had a very disappointing experience here yesterday. And you know me. I don't go negative unless there's a good reason to go negative. I came in about 1:00 p.m, and was the only person at the counter. The place was maybe half-full. Everything looked good. There was even a table in one corner with a place for me to settle in alone and have a sandwich. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich at the counter. $6.50 or so. Fair enough. The works, rye bread, etc. Then I settled down to wait. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes, right? I'm the only person ordering, and there's no rush ahead of me. It took about ten minutes. And when it came out, it was a tuna melt. Not a tuna salad, a melt. I was so hungry I said I'd take it. I got the thinnest of apologies. No offer of a dessert, or a drink, or even a coffee. This was with a sandwich that cost a buck less than the original tuna salad! Nor was there an offer to refund the buck. I didn't press it. I figured I'd just Yelp my experience. Great place, great coffee!! Their coffee is sooo yummy and the owners are total sweethearts not to mention all their employee's are always so nice and polite. Forget about Starbucks, Starsucks! If you haven't already checked out this cool family owned spot, next time your in Studio City be sure to swing on by and grab some brew. Love this spot! 5 great things to love here: 1) coffee- a nice house blend roasted custom for them, not too dark, but not like some of these new third wave coffees that look like coffee but taste like over steeped tea! A delicious roast that made me come back for 2 more cups! 2) food- great selection of simple food that are better than just a pastry or nibble. I had the bagel with cream cheese, lox, onion, tomato and cucumber. Big enough to satisfy me for breakfast, cheap enough to appreciate and tasty enough to become my new morning rhythm. 3) Internet- and not the kind of crappy slow and crashing internet I find at every Starbucks near by. I like me my Coffee Fix. I'm kind of poor so I'm not getting my $4 soy chai's at the moment, but as soon as I come into a little money, I'll be going back. I'm surprised that no one has written about Story Salon. Every Wednesday night at 8pm the longest running story telling group meets here. Bummer if you want to work on the internet in peace, awesome if you like funny, interesting people telling their stories. I am in the latter group and so greatly enjoy Wednesday nights. I love my Coffee Fix. I moved a year ago and it is no longer directly on my way to work, so I often get up a few minutes early just to go there. It beats the 3 Starbucks and 2 Coffee Beans I pass on the way. The staff is fantastic and friendly and they usually know what I want, except when I change my mind on them. Really good pastries, Numi teas (which I love) and fantastic people watching. I've had more random celeb sightings here then anywhere else in LA. The regular customers are also usually very friendly, interesting people. I like my tea, my chocolate croissant, a chat with Tom or Emily, my morning horoscope and whatever funny bits they've put up. The only reason I came here was because Aroma does not have wifi, but this place turned out to be really cool. Plenty of residential parking or a 30 minute stay parking lot. Walking in I had pretty low hopes for this cafe, it looked cheap and not very cozy and the crowd was weird. But the barista was nice, the chai latte was delicious, and the free internet softened my heart. By the time we left it was pretty packed. Not only do you get free wifi, but you also get a fairly good selection of 100% organic coffees and fair trade teas. They also have those blooming teas that I see everywhere now. I had an iced tea and was pleased to find that they do not skimp on their iced tea. Some places brew their tea for much too long, but Coffee Fix doesn't. In fact, I think they make their iced tea by the pitcher so it's fresh. There's some food on the menu, including a peanut butter, honey and banana sandwich. Oh yes. It's glorious. Gonna keep this short and to the point. The quality and price point was great.. first time there. However I was very disappointed when I got home to enjoy my delicious lox bagel and found they forgot to put capers on it. I'm guessing they mixed up my order with someone else's and made a mistake. Here's the thing ... if they had forgot the tomatoes or cucumbers -- I wouldnt have even cared but a lox bagel without onions or capers is like a cheeseburger with no cheese. A small little shop in Studio City with a REALLY enthusiastic (and nice) owner who obviously loves what he does and is proud to be the owner of this coffee spot. The place itself is nice enough. Small, yes, but it worked for the crowd on a weekday afternoon. My real downside with this place was how long it took for my order to be placed and my drink to be made (over 15 minutes for the whole thing and when I got in line only one person was ahead of me and she had already ordered and paid. That dear sweet owner was just chatting away...and including me in the convo, which was nice...but at the same time...I came there to chat with my friend. So after about 5 minutes of dramatized small talk, I was ready to move on. My latte was perfectly fine. Offers breakfast, sandwiches and salads. Prices range from $3.50 oatmeal/quiche, $5 breakfast egg sandwiches, $7 salads. Drinks range $2 for coffee/teas, $4 blended concoctions. Has an old-town feel, friendly service. Long time coffeehouse. Been around forever. Not too small, not too large. Outside chairs and "bar seating" facing a window so you can keep your eye on the library across the street. But, hey, the big windows make it inviting and well lit. Coffee with more than nod to tea due to what I suspect are the British leanings of the owner -- they even have a few English food items on the menu. Woke up today in the mood for a breakfast bagel so I decided to try this spot out. Not much of a big breakfast sandwich selection so we settled for the basic bagels with egg cheese & tomato (2) and an oj came out to $20 , the bagel was eh nothing special at all. The girl up front wasn't the friendliest she seemed annoyed because I asked her what was the most popular item. Not too kid friendly I felt like I had to whisper to my son the whole time. Service here is always pleasant but the coffee is weak and there's not a ton of selection in terms of espresso drinks. Supposedly it's organic but it's consistently not brewed properly. There's also been construction out front for a while now which makes it loud and eliminates a fair amount of parking. Although there are spots in the back which is helpful. And if the coffee at a coffee joint is weak, everything else is ancillary. Nothing fancy either, no pourovers or anything. Free wifi. Food is OK: some breakfast sandwiches and things are nice but average. The bagels are good. Started my lunch by coming here to the coffee fix where I had visited last week. I met the owner and told him that my egg salad sandwich wasn't prepared correctly and the egg salad was dry. He told me that due to the health nuts that they put very little mustard or mayo in the salad as the previous owners had. Why change a good thing when the egg salad sandwich was such a great seller. He agreed to make my sandwich the way the previous owners would make it. I was delighted with the results-the coffee was delicious as always with a splash of cinnamon- the owner was so very nice and I cannot express enough how appreciative I am that he was genuinely courteous. read more

Just moved into Studio City from New York & I was looking for a coffee spot to become "my spot". This place is great. I got the Soy Chai Latte. It was a bit thicker than I'm used to but still delicious. I sat there peacefully for almost 2 hours on my lap top without feeling like someone was going to rush me out. I love this place! The is a true coffee shop. You can tell they put an artists' touch into everything they do. It seems like it's always a work in progress, but that's because they're always improving what they do. A solid choice for coffee and munchies. They sell lox and bagel here for a ridiculously low price. The sandwiches are basic, but will do if you're there to work and not to have an epicurean experience. The coffee is good, and they will make whatever kind of coffee drink you want. For about 6 months, the light in the bathroom was out. They finally fixed it. PROS: The WiFi is good. Staff is friendly. Lots of nearby parking is the backlot is full. Big picture window in front you can sit in front of. CONS: They close at 7:00 p.m. Power outlets can't supply all the tables, so if it's more than half full, you won't get power. The espresso beans they use are delicious and roasted perfectly. I love when I can find a coffee place that actually serves nice roasted good coffee! The staff are nice and I was happy they are dog friendly as I went there for the first time after a dog at the dog park with my dog. I got the Chocolate Cherry Chill with Almond Milk. Very good! I would order it again. They also offer Soy Milk which is another plus for me. The little menu they provide does have the essential you find in coffee shops and for the food menu, there's a salad or grilled cheese for the Vegetarians. They did have some pastries but nothing really extra. I think I saw a Danish or two. It may have been the time of day and they possibly only get a couple orders a week instead of daily. They did offer some probiotic bars and had some fundraising they were a part of. Great little gem in North Hollywood! The baristas welcomed me as soon as I walked in, they greeted me with a "How are you?" and waited for a response! (That's a rarity!) The barista who rang me up gave me great recommendations based on my personal taste palette, which was awesome. Since I usually like my regular coffee (on hot days--iced coffee), but was craving some sort of latte he recommended I get the Almond Milk Vanilla Latte topped with coffee over ice to make it less on the sweet side and more on the "GOOD MORNING, I'M COFFEE" kick. While I waited for my drink, he offered me a small tasting size of their Ice Blended Dirty Chai Latte as a recommendation for next time. It was delicious as well! This is the best coffee shop in all of the valley. The almond croissant? Delicious. The avocado toast? A healthy treat w/ balsamic goodness. But the staff are THE KINDEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. One time a staff member literally delivered me coffee while I was getting my nails done next door. Like I called, and they physically brought it over to me. Also- I lost my coffee today. Just don't remember where I put it in between running errands and when I came back in and told them I lost my coffee (fully intended on paying for a new one) they made me a new one on the house!! They are also super dog friendly and one time on a very hot day they let me sit inside with my very well behaved dog. Just 10/10 all around. Best place ever. Coffee is also top tier!!! read more

I've lived in the area for almost a year and only just now stopped in to Coffee Fix for the first time. What a great little shop. Right across from the Studio City library, and from several auto garages which makes it the best place to wait if you have an hour or two to kill waiting for your car. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Free WiFi - without that BS logging in crap - I don't have time for that! 8^). They also have a nice selection of imported British items: Heinz Beanz, Salad Creme, HP Sauce, etc. We'll see on return trips if the coffee is consistently good. read more

I've been here a few times, and I can't say that I enjoy this place. PROS: 1) Very good range of iced coffee drinks. The chocolate-cherry mocha is outstanding. 2) Free WiFi with plenty of outlets, which makes it great for doing work on a laptop. 3) Chairs outside for those who want to watch the scene go by or just want some fresh air. CONS: 1) The acoustics are terrible. You can hear everything that others are talking about in this café, which is not ideal for doing work. In fact, there's a guy sitting at a table behind me right now, giving away the entire plot of "The Kids Are All Right" and talking about porn at full volume, without any regard for the people around him. WHAT IF I WANTED TO SEE THAT MOVIE, BRO-SEPH??!?! I can't move outside because there are no tables for me for my work and I didn't think I needed earphones. Yikes. 2) They could be more attentive to the one and only restroom. Today, no hand soap or paper towels! It's a good neighborhood joint, but certainly not the best. It's not conducive to work (unless everyone inside is being quiet or respectful of how noise is magnified inside), and it seems to be the kind of place where people come together to talk really loud. In the last hour, I've seen at least 3 people (who came in to read or do homework/research) leave after 30 minutes because it's just that unbearable. As I stated before, this isn't my first time here. I gave it a few more shots, and today confirms my belief that doing work here is for fools. Never again. read more
