Such a cute and quick little bagel stock with the best bagels I've tasted outside of NYC. Not to mention the best ratio of cream cheese to bagel outside of NYC!
Gotta tell ya, Hank knows his bagels...and coming from this former New York bagel snob, that says it a lot! Made with sour dough, you can order your usual bagel with a schmear or something much more elaborate like a rosemary bagel with sliced English cucumbers and tomatoes...Yum Me! They also serve coffee and other drinks...If you are down for it order a dozen to take home... Meter parking or side street parking...Watch the signs to avoid a ticket... Just sayin...Te-see xo
Finally tried this place on DoorDash I was delighted to see a fun take on a bagel sandwich with greens and pickled peppers. Added a side of potato salad. The new number 2 bagel was a fun idea but falls fairly flat. The greens were not cooked all the way or with the right seasoning, they were tough and bitter- there was nothing about the sandwich that was sumptuous. (As someone who just had avocado toast with greens and pickled onions and from Mississippi, I know good greens) I'd suggest making a pickled pepper cream cheese and having that support the greens and also cook the greens correctly. The potato salad was crunchy. The only service I've received here is when they told me they were closed and to leave. I wouldn't call it a deli of sorts by any means for ambiance.
A friend of mine introduced me to Hank's a few months ago and I've already gone back 3 times. The bagels are fresh and the portions are generous. It's a little on the pricier side but because of the quality, it makes sense. Also, the staff is super nice and takeout orders are fast. Cute spot!
Delicious bagels with a great selection of bagel sandwiches! Whether you're stopping by to pick up an order, or dining at their small outdoor patio, you're guaranteed to leave with something you like. Ordered sandwich #4 with a toasted rosemary bagel and was blown away by how tasty it was. Veggies were fresh, sauce/dressing was flavorful, just overall a wonderful blend of sweet, savory, and sour. The rosemary bagel gave a hint of herbal taste, too, which I really enjoyed. The only thing I didn't like were the slices of radish, which were too bitter and didn't fit into the flavor profile of the sandwich for me. I ended up picking most of them out. Highly recommend this spot! Definitely coming back again.
There is a parking lot in the rear, but street meter is usually the best option. Staff was super friendly and eager to greet. The bagels were fresh and decided to go with the number one with an everything bagel. The team got sandwich out and about 10 minutes. The bagel sandwich was tasty, but given this economy, a bit pricey and understandably so. No seating inside, but the courtyard is shared with Starbucks and there's plenty of seats. Was pretty busy for a midmorning Monday. Good bagels, saw that everything jalapeño cheese last minute and regretted not going with that.
Solid bacon, egg and cheese if you're ever craving and in the area! The only thing I would say is the bagel is kinda tough to eat I would probably get it not toasted next time. Would get again when I crave!
I'm a forever Hank's fan. I think we come here at least once a month! Most recently I was finally feeling like trying something new so I got the veggie breakfast sandwich but added a fried egg. PERFECTION! I also tried the onion bagel (I'm usually an everything girl) and it was delicious. Not too over the top onion-y, but had great flavor and the texture was perfect. A little chewy but soft. They don't really toast their bagels too much here, so even though I asked for it toasted it didn't have much crunch. You can't go wrong with one of their bagel sandwiches, but their regular ol' bagel and cream cheese always hits the spot. The staff here is always so kind! It really feels like a wholesome community spot. I couldn't recommend Hank's more!
The wait was good short at early afternoon family and I ate for 43 dollars for two bagels toppings and 1 chicken salad. The greens and tomatoes on mine compliment and rise the bagel to the top. The bagel itself is alright. They came very very toasted. I would ask for salt and pepper in my bagels. The parking was kinda hard unless you wanna pay 10 dollars to park in their back lot.
My kid likes bagels and this place has been on my radar for their vegan options. The shop is simple clean and well organized. I'm not a huge bagel fan nor sandwich fan but YOLO and treat the kid to something special for back to school days! The service was great and I got the number 4 which is the vegan option. *bagels without cheese are vegan so I went with the everything bagel. The Number 4 is dressed! It was messy tasty and loaded with sprouts tomato pickles and salted cucumber with vegan aioli it was tasty! The mini-me order was a plain bagel customized with tomato, fresh onions, and lox with butter on the side. Her feedback bagel was too chewy, too little lox 8$ for 2oz of farmed Atlantic lox is price-gouging were it wild caught I would ok it.... It ended up mostly tomato the onions were super thinly sliced and sparse she couldn't taste them. She gave it an ok One thing with my bagel yes it was chewy although toasted BUT with all the messy sauce and juicy veggies my bagel was not a soggy mushy mess at all! So there may be a method to the chewiness that's all I'm going to say about it. LOL

They were out of the daily special bagels, so we grabbed a classic sesame. The flavor was pretty disappointing. The staff were fine. No one else was there, so we didn't have to wait. Now I know why. It was as if they chose every veggie they had in the fridge in threw it on there, without it making sense taste-wise. Hank's Bagel absolutely delivered this morning. We stopped in when it was not busy, and our order came out in about two minutes. My youngest said it felt like bagel magic. I grabbed an onion bialy with cream cheese, and I am still thinking about it hours later. The flavor was unreal. It tasted like the best part of French onion soup, just without the soup. Rich, savory, and perfect with the cream cheese. Blissful is the only word that fits. My youngest went with an everything bagel, plain, and she lit up after the first bite. Soft, squishy, exactly how she likes it. She looked at me and said, "Dad, how come you haven't brought me here before?" I told her that sometimes, for great things, you have to wait in life. We also grabbed the nectar of the gods (Diet Coke) and an apple juice. Everything was packaged neatly, easy to grab and go, and the whole experience felt effortless and the people there are wicked nice! Hank's is officially in our rotation now. read more

The gourmet bagel fad is in overdrive in Los Angeles, but Hank's is really racing in a tournament of its own. A simply put-together store that's about baking and fixing sandwiches more than anything else, it still manages to be welcoming thanks to a cheery staff and the warm smell of freshly baked bagels. The industrial decor is functional for them, it also signals to the customers that they should keep up the pace. Of course you can buy assorted bagels by the dozen, along with various fixings to take with you -- but they've also got a full menu of sandwiches they'll make for you to either grab & go or eat at one of about 8 tables on the front sidewalk. The bagels are the closest thing I've seen to a true NY bagel in the City of Angels, with a crispy exterior and a tasty, fluffy interior. Not dense. Not gluey. Just right. I ordered an Everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and some Nova. I prefer to enjoy the flavor of the fish, so I always forego the capers and veggies, etc. I sat outside and enjoyed my breakfast before things go too hot, and walked away very happy. Be warned: there are long lines at peak hours, but I live close and tend to head in after the rush. Go. Enjoy. You'll probably never buy from Western Bagel again. It's Hank's from now on. read more
A great bagel without actually being in New York, Hank's is about as close as it gets. The texture is almost that perfect balance of chewy on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. It gets pretty crowded and there can be a line, but the staff has it under control and keeps things moving along. I like to grab a bagel and sit outside and enjoy the weather at one of the tables. The Everything Bagel is a standout, loaded with flavor in every bite, and the scallion cream cheese? Absolute favorite. It's creamy, fresh, and packed with just the right punch of scallion without overpowering the bagel. Simple, classic, and done right. read more

I had never been here before and decided to check it out with a friend. I love that you can basically customize all of the bagels. I ordered a No. 2 and swapped the cheese it came with for scallion cream cheese. They have many different kinds of cream cheese which I def appreciate. As for the bagel itselt, it tasted good but felt somewhat stale. I'm not saying it was rock hard, but it also wasn't soft. Not for me. Hank's Bagels is good, but also nothing to write home about. Parking is street parking. Found pretty easily considering it was a weekend morning. People come and go quickly. Most people seem to do pick ups here. There's no seating inside and there is limited seating outside which unfortunately has the sun beaming right at you on most tables. read more

This place is my absolute favorite, everyone is always so welcoming and friendly. I love that as soon as you enter you can smell the bagels. The bagels are delicious, crisp and fresh. You can get anything from your basic bagel and cream cheese to a fancy bagel with aioli and bacon. This location is pretty small and the tables to dine is are outside and limited. But overall don't let that stop you, its simply so delicious. read more

I've been wanting to try this place but always see a long line and did not want to wait. However, I realized they have online ordering option which is so easy to use. I do recommend if you go this route, to order once they open since they tend to run out towards the end of the day. We ordered the number 1, and built our own bagels. I just have to say, these were the best bagels I've had around the LA area! The bagel was flavored well (we all got the Rosemary sea salt. The outside was crispy and light, and the inside were chewy. Their bagels aren't overly doughy which is a plus for me. The ordering process was easy and the order was completed in about 20 minutes. To pick up, there is a window for pick up and you just provide the staff member with your name. It's a good process as well given they don't have that much space for seating. Overall, will definitely come back to try other bagel items! read more

I was cruising around looking for a place to grab lunch and spotted a big cluster of restaurants with people sitting outside. Figured it must be a hot spot, so I pulled over and walked in to one of them, not knowing what to expect. Turns out, I walked right into something awesome. Hank's is a full-on bagel shop that does breakfast bagels and sandwiches, but I rolled in right at lunchtime and went for their Number 8 on the menu. The Number 8 is a tuna salad sandwich with cheddar, tomato, red onion, leafy greens, aioli, and dressing. I ordered it on their everything jalapeño cheese bagel, which the guy behind the counter warned would be packed with flavor and have a spicy kick. He was right. And I was more than ready. First off, the staff were awesome. The guy who took my order was super friendly, outgoing, and had a big smile the whole time. The girl who brought my food outside? Same vibe, super nice, and her smile was even better. This was probably the most insane-looking bagel sandwich I've ever ordered. That jalapeño cheese bagel? A total flavor bomb. The first bite nearly knocked me off my chair. It was a full-on mouthful of bold flavor in the best possible way. The bagel had just the right amount of heat and tang from the jalapeños, the cheese was rich, and it all blended perfectly with the tuna, onion, and aioli. Every ingredient had its moment but came together like a gourmet bagel masterpiece. With all the bagel spots I've hit and reviewed, Hank's easily lands in my top favorites. This is one of my new favorite bagel places! The bagels here are perfectly crisp and chewy. IMO, Layla in Santa Monica has better-quality produce for the sandwiches, but here you can get a combo of old-school deli fixings and new-school, quintessential LA stuff. My partner and I came on a Saturday morning around 9 AM. Street parking wasn't too hard to find and there was no line. We ordered a lox sandwich on a cheddar bagel and a whitefish salad sandwich on a sesame bagel. We also got a rosemary bagel, pizza bialy, cheddar bagel, and an everything bagel/jalapeno cheddar hybrid bagel. They also have a bunch of spreads and toppings that you can customize for your bagel sandwich, which is probably the way to go. The food came out quickly and we managed to find a seat at the front of the deli (they are very limited). At around 9:30, a longer line began to form. Pros: Amazing, crispy bagels with the perfect amount of chew and fluffy interior. They're the kind of bagels you could pile drive without any cream cheese. I like the mix of traditional and new flavors that they offer. The EJC (the everything-jalapeno cheddar) is a new favorite. The cheddar bagel is also topped with the most sumptuous garlic confit. They have a unique selection of schmears, like cream cheese with habanero (I will need to try that next time) The staff is super friendly, helpful, and efficient They have floss picks to get rid of the seeds in your teeth after eating a seedy bagel Just-ok: The only gripe I had was that the whitefish salad was pretty bland. It came on a bed of thinly sliced cucumbers and a schmear of cream cheese. I think it needed something acidic and briny to cut the richness and fishiness of the salad. Capers, a pickle, or even a spritz of lemon juice would have made it miles better. The salad itself tasted a little too overwhelmingly fishy (this is coming from someone who loves fishy types of fish) for me. Not my favorite. Looking forward to coming back and trying their other sandwiches, bagels, and schmears! read more
