Favorite place to eat on the keys for breakfast and dinner. The happy face breakfast is the absolute best and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. A favorite for locals looking for something quick, delicious, and affordable. It's not very big and the hours are a little wonky, but the staff is fun and friendly and the food is delicious. The black beans and rice are absolutely divine and the cheeseburger is enough for two people. Fries are great, salads good, and the kids loved the chicken fingers. Our family went in for breakfast while vacationing in the keys. The food was cooked to perfection, the Cuban toast was unbelievably good. The home made hot sauce was out of this world. For a family of five to eat breakfast it was $30. I'm talking eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes, coffee and OJ. 5 people. THIRTY BUCKS. Definitely returning to this gem. read more

This place is FANTASTIC! It's a mom and pops located next to Winn Dixie and Bealls. At first I was hesitant but honestly it was a great meal. I am SO full. I ordered the Palomilla. She suggested I have it breaded. I was unsure about it but I gave in. And I'm SO glad I did! The steak was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, it was PERFECT. My friend ordered the Churrasco and it was DELISH. She always adds lime to her meat but this time she didn't need to. It was THAT well done. I have 0 complaints about this place. Visiting on vacation, I was looking for a good local restaurant. Yelp reviews indicated that Coco's was just that, and the reviews were spot on. I had the Cuban Mix sandwich, and my brother had the Fried Fish sandwich. Both were delicious plain and with the two hot sauces made by Coco's. The fish was fresh as were the vegetables. The bun of the sandwich was toasted to the point that it had a good crunch but was still fluffy on the inside. Service was excellent. I will undoubtedly be returning and trying more of the menu. I strongly recommend Coco's Kitchen to anyone looking for some yummy food and a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy it in. read more

Back at Coco's again on this trip and couldn't be happier they are open again. The prices and the food are great, and the service is personable and efficient. We like the rice and beans and just LOVE the sweet potato fries. The absolute show stopper was the Skirt Steak dinner. I had the six hour pork too, but preferred the steak. I was told the key lime fridge pie was wonderful as well. They are open Wed-Sat and close at 7pm, so work the schedule to make it. We watched them turn away folks who arrived as we were finishing our meal, and you don't want that! This is a good value meal and worth the stop and scheduling constraints. read more

This is a hopping little joint with lots of Cuban flavor! It's small, cozy and has great service. The staff are super personable and very fast. I loved seeing the little mama in the kitchen slinging my home fries. I had breakfast and Cuban coffee... Actually coffee con lecce both of which are damn good. I've been eating here for over 10 years when in the Keys on vacation. This is a great little diner that is very consistent and reasonable. Try a Cuban coffee and an order of plantains, YUM! The yellow rice and beans is another favorite of ours as well. And, if you like spicy, ask for the verde sauce, it is made in house and is wonderful! Well rounded menu, with both Cuban and American offerings to suit most any tastes. There is a good selection of vegetarian items as well. A local haunt that is definitely worth visiting if you are looking for good food, generous portions and reasonable pricing. read more

Just enjoyed melt-in-your mouth roast pork slow roasted in mojo sauce. Sides of rice, black beans and Cuban toast were perfect accompaniments. If you're hankering for huevos rancheros note that they stop serving breakfast dishes at 11:30 am. read more

I'm tempted to give Coco's a 1 star rating because it should stay what it is: a hidden gem. America's greatest mom and pop restaurants it seems, are housed these days in nondescript out of the way shopping plazas alongside grocery chains and nail places, and Coco's is no exception. The food is authentic Cuban fare: Cuban toast, huevos rancheros, café con leche. There is a very authentic looking older lady in the back, seemingly cooking everything up singlehandedly while a younger but no less authentic looking woman handles the front of house order taking, serving, and cleaning up. A 2 woman operations team, purportedly running this show since the 1960's. We went for breakfast one morning, feeding our herd of 6 for less than $50, our cheapest meal so far. After struggling with the French press at the campsite for the past 4 mornings we were thrilled to abandon all attempts at camp coffee once we discovered the perfectly sweetened delicacy that is café con leche and went back for more every morning thereafter. The place could easily become overrun by tourists if too many people leave too good of reviews: the dining room is just a handful of tables. It was definitely more crowded on Saturday morning but our coffees didn't take any longer to prepare than they had on the slow weekdays prior. The increased traffic on Saturday morning speaks to a good business from the locals which is usually a great recommendation for a café in a touristy place like the keys. If I had a dollar for every overpriced margarita or mahi sandwich I've consumed this week I'd have just a small fraction of the money back that I've thrown away on mediocre food. Coco's was a welcome exception to both the food choices and the prices we have faced during our weeklong keys adventure. read more

Nice little Cuban restaurant that's been there over 30 years. Good basic food reasonably priced. Gets crowded on weekends with locals. So the service is slow with one little old lady cooking and a waitress or relative serving. That's why the prices are reasonable. If you want fast service go to McDonald's. Hurricane Irma hit everybody hard on Big Pine key and lower keys so be kind. read more

Hard to catch them with their limited hours, but managed to get in for a Cuban coffee and sandwich. The sandwich was constructed using nothing but lunch meat. Rather than wait till the sandwich was ready, made the coffee right away so it was cool by the time the order was ready. Very underwhelmed! read more

Great little family owned diner that has been around since the 60's. Proprietor is incredibly nice and her mother is still cooking all day in the kitchen after decades. Had the special of shredded beef in a tomato sauce, side of plantains, side of fried yucca and special with tacos, burrito and quesadilla. All the food was great, service was even better.
