This place has some of the best cuban food I've ever tasted. Not a trendy tourist spot, but an authentic spot. Fair prices and large portions. If I were local I could easily hit this place up 2-3 times a week lol. Try the flan, it's addicting. Coffee is very good as well. Their chicken is incredible read more

We stopped here just on a drive by and wasn't too amused. I ordered a steak burrito and my girlfriend got the Cuban sandwich. Her bread was burned according to her it was hard as a brick and my burrito was just okay. The service is great the lunch just wasn't anything that really stood out. I give them a 3 out of 5 because of the price to quality ratio. If it was cheaper I would probably give them a 4. read more

Nothing fancy, but the service and food were quick and good. They were very friendly. We would definitely go again. The mahi mahi was our favorite of the meats. The rice and beans, sweet plantains and fries were all great. I would not get the chicken and vegetable again. I loved the eclair and would get it again. The chocolate roll cake was okay, but we would try something else next time. read more

We stopped into this restaurant for 4 Cuban sandwiches to go, so we could watch the sun go down. We were over charged, which I believe the tip was added without my knowledge. Then I added a $7 tip. I did the math later and realized what happened. The restaurant was empty, and now I know why. The sandwiches weren't great, but we would've gone back if we didn't feel ripped off. I hope the $7 was worth the bad review. We own a place in the keys and won't be returning. read more

This place is perfect ! Cafe con leche, sweet and savory empanadas, fresh breads, fresh pressed juice !( mango tamarind ) , chorizo , croquettes, fresh seafood ... the list just goes on - no frills all taste and authenticity! We went everyday of our 5 day stay here - it made the trip so special ! read more

We found this Cuban restaurant appropriately named "Delicias" during a vacation in Marathon Florida. It opened a couple of weeks earlier under new ownership, and offers a wide variety of authentic Cuban items at great prices. We had the pulled pork and Cuban sandwiches on our first visit. Returned for the pork chunks. All were great. Prices are excellent, and portions very generous. Will definitely return next visit. read more

We were staying at the resort and came right when they opened for breakfast, but for whatever reason, they decided to help another larger group first, that arrived well after us. The larger group got their food and left before we even got our food. The servers largely ignored us the entire time, even though they were super attentive to other groups. I'm not sure what we did to bother the staff so much besides arriving right at 7 am, but the experience was terrible and we won't be back here even though we have a food credit through the resort. Not that it will do any good, but we will be reaching out to the hotel management because they clearly have a problem here. I don't think they care because they have a captive audience on the resort that is always new. If you're staying at the resort , this is not a place to actually eat a meal.

Herbie's Bar & Chowder House in Marathon has been operating under that name since 1963, with roots…read moregoing back to the 1940s as Maggie's Chowder House and later Fishnet's. It's legitimately one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the Florida Keys, which gives it a lot of built-in credibility before you even sit down. Walking up to it, you feel that history. The exterior, the gravel lot, the signage--it's pure roadside Keys. Inside, it leans into that "local bar meets tourist stop" vibe: long wooden bar, TVs, stickers everywhere, taps lined up. Then you open the menu and it pivots in every direction--New England chowder house, BBQ joint, burger shack, seafood spot. It's not clear what it wants to be, and that lack of focus carries straight through to the food. We started with both chowders. The clam chowder looks right at first glance, but the texture tells you everything--thick, almost gluey, clearly roux-heavy. The flavor leans aggressively fatty, closer to margarine than butter, with very little clam presence. No briny backbone, no pepper, no lift. We ended up dumping in black pepper and hot sauce just to make it remotely acceptable--but even then, that heavy fat note kept pushing through. Nothing about it reads as New England. The conch chowder fares a bit better. You can actually see a decent amount of conch, and there's a peppery edge that helps. But the broth is thin and lacks the chunky, stewed tomato depth you expect from a proper Keys-style conch chowder. After having it done right earlier at Key Largo Fisheries, the difference was obvious. Then there are the Texas Twinkies--and the photo really says it all. On paper, this should work: jalapeños wrapped in bacon, stuffed with brisket, pulled pork, cheeses, and sauce. In execution, it's just too much. Too much cream cheese, too many competing sauces, meats chopped into a soft, indistinct filling. It collapses into a heavy, muddy bite that feels more overwhelming than satisfying. Looking back at the menu, the simpler move--burger, ribs, even wings--probably would have been the right call. Instead, we ordered straight into the identity crisis. And that theory held up. We went back and grabbed a burger later--cooked a proper medium rare, with well-done, crispy fries--and it was easily the best thing we had from them. I wanted to like Herbie's. There's history, personality, and clearly a loyal following. But between the confused concept and uneven execution, the move here is simple: stick to the basics.
