Lots of folks like Coconut Jelly King. My wife wanted to try them so when I found myself at HMart in Arcadia, I wanted to purchase a couple for her. I was there on a weekend, and I thought they would be open the same hours as the HMart grocery store since they are located inside HMart. It turned out that they were not because their hours are limited. In fact, the Coconut Jelly KIng staff member was about 30 minutes late in opening the place so that was disappointing. The Mango Coconut Jelly was not available that day. Had to settle for a jar of Blueberry Coconut Jelly and a jar of Hazelnut Chocolate Coconut Jelly. Both flavors tasted alright, but they did not have us craving more. They are pricey, but that doesn't stop folks from buying jars of their products. They are popular. Granted, for me, Melo Melo, was the first coconut jelly store and the coconut jelly flavors here look similar to Melo Melo. On this visit, ordered the black sugar boba tea and got a durian pancake for the GF so I won't be trying that. They have an above average selection of durian products (jelly, pancake, crepe cake) for you durian lovers. Looks promising and for sure the coconut jelly prices are about $1 less than Melo Melo. This was my first time buying from this place and I wanted to try it out since I was introduced to the coconut jelly dessert at the 626 Night Market. I was disappointed that I was scammed from their menu as I was charged more than what was advertised on the menu (see photo). When I brought this to the cashier's attention, she stated there has been a price increase and the owner had control over the menu board. I don't fault the part-time worker but she should be trained or allowed access to make price adjustments for false advertising. The HMart manager tried to investigate with the worker as well but HMart has no control with the cash register. The food tasted ok, I just wouldn't pay over $12 for the jar. This was my first time trying coconut jelly in such a way and I absolutely loved it so much so that I had it again the next day! The price is a little much but maybe it works for some people. The mango one is the only one I've had and so far it has been fresh mangoes. It's located inside H mart so might be confusing if you're looking for their logo outside. It's worth grabbing and they give you a cute little spoon with it as well. It's also located in the same plaza as Fika Fika so can stop by there too and grab somethign delicious. Love the durian coconut jelly! Located in the ready to eat section of H mart in the area to the left when you walk in the supermarket. They close earlier than the supermarket, and you can't check out at the H mart cashier as they have their own cashier during their store hours. If you recycle 10 jars then you get 1 free but they are planning to have new containers soon so this program will discontinue. They sell out of some flavors on weekends. In addition to coconut jelly, they have smoothies, egg waffles, milk tea, mille crepe, and pancakes. Single coconut jelly ($6.99): If you like coconut cream, the jelly is a lighter version of it. The texture is not like Jello but soft and creamy, more like soft silken tofu or a French style yogurt cooked in a pot (e.g., Oui). It's lightly sweetened and tastes like coconut cream. Very pleasant. It's not heavy or too sweet, so it would go with lots of things. I could see eating it for breakfast or dessert. Strawberry pancake ($6.99): There were two of these. The coconut jelly came in a cute, clear jar along with two of their own custom spoons that were really nice and definitely worth keeping. Never knew a shop like this existed let alone knew what Coconut jelly King was all about. We were visiting the HMART market in Arcadia and noticed the Coconut Jelly King at the Food Court. Judging by their menu they mainly specialize in drinks and jelly made with coconut but they had other items on their menu. We got the Pineapple Coconut Jelly and the double Coconut jelly to try out. They were packed in a dessert jars and refrigerated. To be clear Asian jelly is made with Agar or Arrowroot. It is not Jello which is made with gelatin derived from animals. The Pineapple Coconut Jelly had shredded Pineapple base topped with Coconut Jelly made with slightly sweetened Coconut milk. I like Pineapple I thought it would be my favorite. I liked the Double Coconut Jelly a lot more. The base was a jelly made with Coconut Water and topped with Coconut jelly made with sweetened Coconut Milk. The dessert itself was light and refreshing. The flavors were subtle but it was delicious and turned out to be my favorite. iCYMI, Coconut milk is made from steeping dried Coconut flesh and is usually sweetened for drinks or desserts. I also love the jars that the jelly is sold in, they are wide mouth, and great for reusing. The staff member working around 7pm on April 20th had the most atrocious customer service I've ever seen. I walked up to order, and I see the guy sitting on a chair on his phone, eating. He doesn't look up for a long time, even though there are 2+ customers. I ask the guy at the neighboring booth, "where do I order the coconut jelly?" he goes, "here" (where I'm standing) and looks at the guy sitting down and says "customer!" to get the guy to actually come up to the cash register. I don't understand you" because he's literally chewing and talking with his mouth open at the same time.
