Tasty treats: ice cream, coffee, tea and crepes. Expensive import from California. This place is located across the street from Drix wine bar. It's a good-sized restaurant with free Wi-Fi and plenty of spots with electrical outlets. It has an IKEA-like atmosphere. The folks that work there are very friendly and are ready to answer questions. My wife and daughter ordered the crepes. Daughter enjoyed her strawberry crepe. My wife also liked her Nutella crepe with banana. I had half of my wife's crepe later, and it was tasty. I ordered the Affogato, a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream with cappuccino poured over it. The drink costs $6.69, but I found a Yelp review from 4 months ago in a California Cocohodo that had the Affogato priced at a reasonable $3.50. What gives? We spent $21 for the three desserts. This seemed a bit steep. I may return and try a coffee, but it may be awhile before we return for dessert. read more

My group and I came across this place accidentally after having lunch at Hoodadak, which is in the same plaza. Cocohodo is a cafe that offers shaved snow, nitrogen frozen ice cream, crepes, baked goods, and tea. For my visit, I got their Lavender Nitrogen Frozen ice cream with a honey drizzle, and their Orange Ginger tea for my boyfriend. You order at the counter, and they give you a number to place at your table for them to bring out your order to you. The Lavender ice cream had a floral taste to it, which I enjoyed, and was not overly sweet even with the addition of the honey drizzle on top. The order came with 2 scoops of ice cream, and two thick pretzel sticks in the cup. My boyfriend's tea came in a cute tea set, and he also enjoyed the taste and its warmth since it was such a cold day outside. The cafe seems like a great place to study since there are plenty of tables and wifi, which is what I saw a lot of guests doing. I'd recommend stopping by this place if you're in the area! read more

So I have been coming here for 3 years now and I gotta say, business has been picking up, but sadly I'm not the huge fan I was back in the day. The ice cream don't taste as fresh, but is rather icier than usual. It's lost that creaminess that I loved and the flavors don't taste as strong, but it's not bad just not as amazing as it used to be. I come from time to time, but not as often as before. I came here just for the EARL GREY ICE CREAM (and I live in Houston) and was not disappointed. I LOVE how the tea flavor is very strong and with every bite you taste the earl grey fragrance. I brought some home for my husband (they give you ice in a bag for your to-go ice creams), and he keeps wanting to come here now. Man, they need to make some of this stuff, pack it in a ice cream carton, and sell it at HEB/Kroger/Randalls. We seriously need some upgrade to the cliche ice cream flavors like chocolate, vanilla and cookies 'n cream. The only complaint I have is that I wished the ice cream was creamier, and also because the ice cream is made from liquid nitrogen, it's not as smooth as regular ice cream and has little ice chunks. Otherwise, this flavor is just amazing. Also got the lavender latte on recommendation from the cashier. It tasted good but I thought the lavender note was on the weaker end. If I hadn't known it was lavender latte I would not be able to tell. Also, the latte is quite sweet even though I asked for no sugar. Unfortunately it seems like the lavender powder is already pre-sweetened. There's also a HUGE selection of Harney & Sons tea for sale, which was quite a pleasant surprise since previously I was told that only starbucks at B&N carries this New York based tea company. Extremely cute cafe! We stopped here while waiting for the water store next to them to open and tried a mango iced tea, blueberry scone, and strawberry cookie. We enjoyed all 3! The service was quick and the man was very polite. The cafe is perfect for going to work or spend some time doing a quiet activity like reading or writing. They have wifi and even a printer! 3.5 stars. Stumbled upon Cocohodo after having dinner at Hoobadak. They're in the same shopping center as each other along with a Japanese restaurant and a Korean BBQ joint. Parking lot was pretty busy on a Thursday evening but we found a spot. First off, great name. If you've never had liquid nitrogen ice cream, it's a cool experience. As your ice cream is being made, a cloud of liquid nitrogen rises through the air, it's an awesome sight to behold. They also use premium, healthy ingredients at this spot which is always a plus. You order at the counter and they bring your treat out to you. The menu features ice cream in a cup, crepes, and lots of other sugary treats. The downside is you can only order two scoops of ice cream. There's no one scoop option which is a bummer. I wasn't very hungry so I definitely would've gone with a one scoop option had it been offered. I went with strawberry ice cream and you get your choice of caramel sauce, berry sauce, or one other option that's escaping me at the moment. I think chocolate sauce. They also give you two of those circular cigarette-looking wafers with your ice cream. Unlike traditional ice cream, liquid nitrogen ice cream doesn't really melt. I only ate one scoop and brought the other scoop home and it barely melted. We're talking 30 minutes plus of a commute. How's that possible? Blew my mind too. I tried the tiramisu waffle and it was sooooo good. Portion isn't big, perfect amount for 1-2 people...well for me I can't eat the whole plate. Itw two triangle waffles served with tiramisu filling. I tried pistachio (very mild with chopped up nuts), vanilla (bland), and nutella (tasted like chocolate at 1st then hazelnut taste came through). So many better ice cream places out there or from your local grocery store. Maybe the crepes and drinks are better. There are other coffee shops closer to where I live, but I don't mind making the drive to Katy for this. I usually just get regular coffee, which is really good. I used to get the nonfat mocha before I started my low carb thing, and I really miss it. Speaking of low carb, they also have bulletproof coffee here. I don't think they make it right though; bulletproof coffee isn't supposed to have sugar (I did request it without), and I think they use salted butter instead of unsalted, because yuck. That's okay though, I just don't order it anymore, problem solved. Anyway, they have nitrogen ice cream here, which is reportedly very good. My teenaged son, who is always hungry, gets sandwiches here and says they're "pretty good" -- high praise coming from him. The main thing I like about this place is the atmosphere. This place advertises liquid nitrogen ice cream but normally when you attend a place that sells liquid nitrogen ice cream, it's usually done in front of you showing the process. However, this place did not do that. We ordered the ice cream and the worker went to the back to prepare them and then brought out to our table. We did not see the process of the liquid nitrogen ice cream being made which was a little disappointing. We ordered the strawberry and chocolate ice cream. The strawberry ice cream was your simple strawberry ice cream. It had a decent creamy taste and texture but did not have a wow factor that made me want more. The chocolate turned out to be too chocolatey, or thick on the cocoa flavor that was not very pleasant causing us to switch the flavor. Even the mochi was acceptable. The ice though... that was a two thumbs down. It was watered down and by the time we got to it it was a melts gritty mess. It ruined the experience. Chocolate chip cookie- I find it VERY hard to believe they didn't buy a pack of Kroger for maximum value cookies and place them in their cookie display for sale. The cookie. What a disappointment and I'm the hugest Cookie Monster you could ever find. It was dry, cold and the flavors were very artificial. Can't believe the cookies were handmade. It's not no tiffs treats, I'll say that. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. My husband liked running under the liquid nitrogen steam with the other kids so that was fun to watch.
