We came here to celebrate Mother's Day for my mom and one of my sisters, and honestly, our waiter Johan made the entire experience unforgettable. He went far above and beyond what we expected. Not only was he incredibly attentive to our table, but even while helping other tables, he always made sure to come back and check on us. At one point, someone accidentally removed my food without my consent, and he noticed immediately. Without hesitation, he made it right and brought back the food that had been taken from my plate. That level of attention and care truly stood out. What touched us the most was his kindness and humility. He even brought roses for my mom and my sister for Mother's Day, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made the celebration feel even more special. The atmosphere of the restaurant was already wonderful, but his character, professionalism, and genuine service elevated the entire experience. Because of him, we will absolutely be coming back. Thank you for making our celebration so meaningful.

Came here for brunch with my friends after making a reservation in advance (fyi they won't seat you unless everyone from your party is present). We wanted to go to this particular location since it's right by the water. Inside was really aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom was a vibe too; it kind of reminded me of a bathroom at a club, but daytime and family-friendly. Food: I ordered the Los Rancheros chilaquiles with sunny-side-up eggs since I had read about the chilaquiles online. Another friend ordered the flautas, which she liked. I thought the food was pretty good but wow was it expensive. My dish was $24; sure the portion was large but that's a pretty expensive dish for chilaquiles! My other friends ordered drinks too (Arroz con leche, Moliendo Cafe, Spritzer rosado). I tried all of them, and I thought the spritzer was the best by far; I enjoy drinks on the sweeter side. Service: Started off strong, but it really died by the end. No one checked on us at all after we received our food. 3 people ordered drinks, and 3 people only had water; they only brought out 3 glasses of water, so those with drinks only had their alcohol to sip on, which was strange. When I asked for a refill of my water, they only refilled my glass and ignored the other 2 empty glasses. Seemed very literal. Is this normal for this restaurant? By the end, I had to wave to get someone's attention for boxes and the check. It was a bit frustrating. Parking: Can be a bit tough during peak times, but there is a parking lot in the back. Overall, the food was pretty good, the drinks were ok, the prices weren't great, and the service was worse. Pros and cons all around, so it gets an average rating. San Diego's brunch competition is fierce, and unfortunately, this is not at the top of my list.

Loved this Coronado brunch spot, not only is the place aesthetically beautiful with a nice view of downtown but also the food is authentic Mexican flavor. I got the Quesadillas De Chilorio! 4 mini corn quesadillas filled with chilorio, served with pork beans and salsa trio with a Juguito de Naranja (orange juice). And my bestie ordered a brunch sampler favorite called El Patron, creamy chipotle chilaquiles with beans, eggs and cajeta french toast with a cafe de la olla. The chilaquiles are very traditional flavor and so many variety of salsas to choose from too which I liked! The service is great too, glad they brought water without asking prior to taking our order!

The ambiance , decor and vibes are there. Chilaquiles verdes and drink were great. However the machaca and chilaquiles rojos didn't taste very authentic. Service was great and friendly!

Good food! Nice view! & the decor is pretty. Came for brunch on Valentine's Day. We had reservations and were seated quickly after arriving. The server took our order & gave great service. I liked this location more than the downtown one as it was my first time at this one. I totally recommend it!

We sat at the bar since there was such a long line (yes, a LINE) to get a table. The view from the restaurant to the outside was beautiful with water views, sand, people. The places beautiful on the inside as well with flowers hanging from the ceilings and beautiful glass and colors everywhere, including the bathrooms. The servers/bartenders were attentive but not overly hovering. The cafe de la olla was unsweetened and they provided piloncillo (like brown sugar) liquid to add for some sweetness. My hubby and I shared a meal as I don't eat much and neither does he. The best was the chilaquiles and the tamale was so soft and yummy! I would definitely come back to try other things but I hope they take reservations.

Johan was amazing!!! Exceptional service very tentative. The food itself was amazing and views 10/10 I would definitely recommend. Make a reservation walk up line is pretty long.

Must eat in San Diego!!!! It is DELICIOSO MUST HAVE RESERVATIONS or you're going to wait. If you wait it is so worth it!!!! PROMISE!!!! Right next to the ocean best views & best food. I absolutely love this place that I've been to 3 of 5 of their locations. I had the TOCOMOROCHO with carnitas, over medium eggs & that sweet tamale Cafe de olla, flights of margaritas so perfect not so sweet. I promise you will not be disappointed. Jesus helped us & everyone is nice & they all look happy to be there.

We celebrated our daughter's 7th birthday at Cocina 35 and couldn't have picked a better spot! The place is so aesthetic with gorgeous flowers, vibrant décor, and a lovely view of the ocean and pier. The drinks were amazing, and the food was even better -- the Los Cremasos chilaquiles were delicious, and the spicy Al Pastor was truly out of this world. The French toast was tasty. The servers made the celebration extra special with a dessert sampler and a fun birthday moment that our daughter absolutely loved. Perfect food, great vibes, and a memorable brunch experience. Highly recommend!

The wait here was extremely long without a reservation but I came alone so I was able to be seated quickly at the bar. The portions are huge. You could share with a partner easily. I enjoyed my meal. It was very tasty. I also got the margarita flights. I like to taste the alcohol in my drinks and informally they tasted more like a spritzer. Still good just not very strong. The location is beautiful but busy. The ceiling to floor windows are great for the view.

It's alright. *sigh* I swear, every joint on this side of the island is decent at best, but still get slammed for business. This place is basically only open for brunch, but most of their chilaquiles don't come with egg by default. But you immediately have an option to add egg for $4. I feel like this is just a gimmick to make it seem slightly less pricy. The eggs....could be fluffier. The avocado is lazily in one giant log. The flavor of the pastor......it's okay. These chips are shaped more like Fritos, but the texture is not bad. They're not totally crispy and not totally soggy, which is good for this. Even plain coffee is $6, and I'm sitting here with an empty cup for like an eternity even though I'm literally sitting at the bar. I have to ask for more coffee as I'm asking for the check. At least I wasn't charged for the refill. Like every other restaurant on this street, the best thing about it is the location.

So glad we got in without a reservation! We arrived early and luckily beat the line - we honestly had no idea about the hype around this place. We were just looking for breakfast nearby, but wow, were we in for a surprise! Everything about Cocina 35 is so thoughtful!! The ambiance, the service, the menu, and the food. You can tell there's so much attention to detail in everything they do. Our server was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. One of my favorite touches was the server walking around with a tray of pan dulces - such a cute and authentic detail! My chilaquiles were incredible, and the portions were huge. The café de olla and concha were perfect too. I'm already dreaming about going back. Don't hesitate to try this place!! It's everything you didn't know you needed for breakfast or brunch!

A Pros: Good drinks-a little light, French toast and beans were yummy. The bread was so good, I had a cajeta cookie. Flan was really good. I liked how many non alcoholic drinks they had for our DD. The decor, vibes and music was great. Cons: Service was not great and the reason I knocked off a star. They could not make any minor accommodations for adding two people-when we sat the table for two next to us was empty the whole time, we tried calling for days before and they never answer. I had to flag down our waiter for waters, a spoon, napkins, for a clean glass when the water cup was dirty, he never stopped to get us refills or place more drinks. I had to flag down for our dessert order. Bathroom was dirty, out of seat covers and the toilet paper wasn't in the holder taking up the purse hook, and water all over the sink. Would I give it another chance, yes. Would I recommend, not yet.

    Are there any vegan options?

It's extremely limited. Even the beans are made with chicken stock.

    Are pets allowed?

I didn’t see any pets during my visit, and I don’t believe they allowed them inside. However, they do have an outdoor patio, which might be an option. But call and verify. As a pet owner, I left my dog at home and enjoyed this spot as a great… Read more

So we looked up nearby restaurants and found The Henry. So glad we did. Our first time here and it won't be our last.... The hostess was very kind and welcoming. She took our name down right away. We waited under 10 minutes to be seated. We opted to sit inside. Very nice vibe. Our waiter Enrique was AMAZING. Super attentive and a true asset to this restaurant. Our food came out quickly. Everything was so flavorful. You could really taste the quality. The hubby even got a tea to go. TOP NOTCH!! I ordered the following below: *Korean Prime Skirt Steak: 5/5 - I asked for my skirt steak medium rare and man was it cooked so well. Underneath was fried rice, bok choy, veggies and a nice creamy Korean sauce . The sauce really complimented the steak and fried rice really well. I was very pleased on how the steak was juicy and tender ! *Braised Short Rib: 2/5 - Don't get me wrong i love me some good braised short ribs, however, these were very disappointing. Most of the meat was covered by fat, the portion size was insanely small considering its an entree. Not much veggies or sides to compliment this meal very well, definitely need to redo this dish. *Pressed Yellowtail Sushi: 5/5 - Honestly the yellowtail was so fresh ! It had a hint of spiciness but also a hint of sweetness. The sushi was very fresh and almost tasted like a ceviche mix. *Parmesan Truffle Fries: 3/5 - Your average truffle fries. Nothing fancy about them. I really wish they were crispier. The ambiance was very nice and welcoming. You are introduced to basically nice oak wood tables everywhere. The booth we sat in was pretty comfy. The service was exceptional. It is nice to know you are getting some quality dishes, others need some refinement.

The gentleman/waiter handed us the menu and went on his way. Chips and salsa along with waters for the table were brought and then that was when the service of our waiter went downhill. We ordered the ahi tuna and guacamole for our appetizers but the timing for the meal was so off. It was a long wait before the waiter even checked back on us and which is when I asked for a refill on my water and chips. We had order drinks as well. The smoked old fashion was good and the ahi tuna appetizer portion was plentiful. There were some parts of the diced ahi that was a bit chewy. The gaucamole portion was large and it wasn't until I asked another waiter did my refill of water and chips arrive. For entree, we got the scallops with corn cake, a salad and I had the poblano burger. I asked for the burger to be cooked to medium. When the entrees arrived my burger was overcooked with no pink in sight. The flavor of the burger was good but the burger was definitely dry as can be. The corn cake with scallop was interesting it was almost like the corn cake was a croquet that encased a corn salsa. Overall the food was okay but the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter and the end seemed to put up a fake act when the check came. Since we asked for the check it seemed like the waiter was on hyper speed. Overall the view is nice but the food and service did not meet the expectations.
