Cocina 35 has quickly become one of my favorite brunch spots in San Diego! The chilaquiles are hands down the best i've had so far! They're so flavorful, perfectly made, and definitely worth the hype. If you're lucky enough to snag a window seat, the beach views are absolutely beautiful. Even if you don't, the restaurant itself is gorgeous with such a fun, inviting ambiance. The staff are incredibly friendly, well-coordinated, and organized, which makes the whole experience feel seamless from start to finish. I also love that they offer tableside guacamole, fresh pan dulce, coffee, and Abuelita hot cocoa, it really makes the experience feel unique and special. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the tacos de papa and their aguas frescas. If you're debating whether to check this place out, do yourself a favor and go, you won't be disappointed! We had an 8:15 AM reservation and were seated a few minutes early at the exact table we requested, which was a great start to our morning. The service was outstanding! our servers were attentive, friendly, and offered excellent recommendations that did not disappoint. The Cajeta iced latte had the perfect balance of sweet and bold coffee flavors, and the Premium Mango Mimosa was incredibly refreshing with fresh mango juice and Moët. For breakfast, the Cremosos Chilaquiles with grilled chicken were rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. We also tried the La Bomba Chilaquiles with added chorizo, and the creamy habanero sauce paired perfectly with the cochinita pibil and pickled onions. The Pancakes De La Feria for kids were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and we appreciated that the kids' meals even included Acqua Panna water. We ordered the Familia Sampler and everything was flavorful and delicious. My favorite is the tacos de papas. The drinks were the real standout! The Verde Agua Fresca and the Mango Tajin Agua Fresca were absolutely delicious. Came during a holiday afternoon. Purposely took the ferry (over half an hour wait) just to eat here. Attempted to make reservations days in advance, but apparently they don't take reservations for groups larger than 6. Waited about 15 minutes before we were seat. Place wasn't crowded when we arrived. Our waiter would not take our food order with our drink order so we order ice water initially for everyone. He attempted to bring us multiple glass bottles of expensive water. We had him take them back and bring us tap water. Took a while for him to come back. Ordered bunch of expensive drinks when he came back. After serving us drinks, he finally took our food order. Took a while for our food to come and they did not come all at once. Also, multiple orders were incorrect. Apparently he misunderstood us. Food was really good. Scenery was really nice. They charge us 20% gratuity for our table of 11. Our bill came out to over $500. Cocina 35 is located on the Coronado island side and it sure was popping when I walked in late afternoon on a Tuesday. Many celebratory gatherings were seen and I was lucky enough to be able to get seated as they were closing soon. I sat by the bar and I had a nice view of the waterfront. The inside is decorated very nice with a flower theme vibe. I ordered one of their specialty chilaquiles plate: Cremosos a very unique approach to this plate: Creamy chipotle salsa topped with grilled chicken and I added a sunny side up egg. This plate was very very good I finished it all 5/5. For my drink: I ordered a guayaba mimosa served on a nice glass and had a flower for decoration. The drink was refreshing, bubbly and just enough guayaba flavor in it. I really enjoyed my time here despite being short since they were closing for the day. Love this location. It has great views to really soak up the San Diego experience. For food we ordered the "Make your own chilaquiles". The tomate red sauce was recommended. It had good flavor. The chilaquiles have a good crunch which I always look for. My son got the kids mini pancakes that comes with eggs and fruit. We added a side of bacon. They have a cart with conchas and abuelita chocolate that you can order before, during, or after your meal. The abuelita chocolate is soooo good. We got a side of frijoles puercos (which have a nice spicy kick) and a sweet tamale. For drinks we ordered the cafe de la olla latte and the horchata which were both very good. First time at Coronado location. We walked in on Monday of Memorial Day weekend. We waited in line about and hour. We thought it might not be too crazy but it was! Make reservations online. We only decided to wait in like because we had 0 plans for the day and traded off being in line. This location is very spacious, with an ocean/skyline view. They also have outdoor seating as well as bar area (which you need your id for). We all ordered chilaquiles, they hit as they usually do. Another reason we decided to wait in line is because we already know what to expect of the food, the food is worth the wait. Came here for brunch with my friends after making a reservation in advance (fyi they won't seat you unless everyone from your party is present). We wanted to go to this particular location since it's right by the water. Inside was really aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom was a vibe too; it kind of reminded me of a bathroom at a club, but daytime and family-friendly. Food: I ordered the Los Rancheros chilaquiles with sunny-side-up eggs since I had read about the chilaquiles online. Another friend ordered the flautas, which she liked. My other friends ordered drinks too (Arroz con leche, Moliendo Cafe, Spritzer rosado). I tried all of them, and I thought the spritzer was the best by far; I enjoy drinks on the sweeter side. Service: Started off strong, but it really died by the end. No one checked on us at all after we received our food. 3 people ordered drinks, and 3 people only had water; they only brought out 3 glasses of water, so those with drinks only had their alcohol to sip on, which was strange. When I asked for a refill of my water, they only refilled my glass and ignored the other 2 empty glasses. Seemed very literal. Is this normal for this restaurant? By the end, I had to wave to get someone's attention for boxes and the check. It was a bit frustrating. Parking: Can be a bit tough during peak times, but there is a parking lot in the back. Overall, the food was pretty good, the drinks were ok, the prices weren't great, and the service was worse. Pros and cons all around, so it gets an average rating. This is a different kind of review! My Lulu and I walked Coronado early this NASCAR morning. There was a gentleman that worked here at Cocina 35 wearing a pink NASCAR shirt, putting up flags outside getting ready for the arrivals from the Coronado Ferry. This nice gentleman with the pink NASCAR shirt which I wish I would have taken a picture of him, totally catered to my doggy to get a drink. He was telling me it's fresh water (obviously he gets that concept) and everything about this interaction with him really showed what kind of place this restaurant is at the the Coronado Ferry Landing! I didn't ask this guy for anything! He was just a super awesome nice guy that does way more than his job! I truly hope this review reaches him! We sat at the bar since there was such a long line (yes, a LINE) to get a table. The view from the restaurant to the outside was beautiful with water views, sand, people. The places beautiful on the inside as well with flowers hanging from the ceilings and beautiful glass and colors everywhere, including the bathrooms. The servers/bartenders were attentive but not overly hovering. The cafe de la olla was unsweetened and they provided piloncillo (like brown sugar) liquid to add for some sweetness. We celebrated our daughter's 7th birthday at Cocina 35 and couldn't have picked a better spot! The place is so aesthetic with gorgeous flowers, vibrant décor, and a lovely view of the ocean and pier. The drinks were amazing, and the food was even better -- the Los Cremasos chilaquiles were delicious, and the spicy Al Pastor was truly out of this world. The French toast was tasty. As I said...the Point Loma location was OK until it wasn't. There was a bug in my food and they refused to admit it was a bug. But my friend saw it and even took it out of my plate and analyzed it. This place is basically only open for brunch, but most of their chilaquiles don't come with egg by default. But you immediately have an option to add egg for $4. I feel like this is just a gimmick to make it seem slightly less pricy. The eggs....could be fluffier. The avocado is lazily in one giant log. The flavor of the pastor......it's okay. These chips are shaped more like Fritos, but the texture is not bad. They're not totally crispy and not totally soggy, which is good for this. Even plain coffee is $6, and I'm sitting here with an empty cup for like an eternity even though I'm literally sitting at the bar. I have to ask for more coffee as I'm asking for the check. At least I wasn't charged for the refill. Like every other restaurant on this street, the best thing about it is the location. read more

We came here to celebrate Mother's Day for my mom and one of my sisters, and honestly, our waiter Johan made the entire experience unforgettable. He went far above and beyond what we expected. Not only was he incredibly attentive to our table, but even while helping other tables, he always made sure to come back and check on us. At one point, someone accidentally removed my food without my consent, and he noticed immediately. Without hesitation, he made it right and brought back the food that had been taken from my plate. That level of attention and care truly stood out. What touched us the most was his kindness and humility. He even brought roses for my mom and my sister for Mother's Day, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made the celebration feel even more special. There was a small line outside when we arrived, but they offered white umbrellas to help shade us from the sun while we waited, and I absolutely loved that. That kind of thoughtful touch is top-tier service to me. We stood there with our little umbrellas, and honestly, the line moved pretty fast. I ordered the make-your-own chilaquiles with creamy chipotle sauce and carnitas. The carnitas were super flavorful and really good. My only small complaint is that I wish there had been more of the creamy chipotle sauce because I wanted more of that flavor throughout the dish. I also ordered the mango drink, and that was delicious. My husband got the horchata, and he said it was a little on the sweeter side. The restaurant does have a lively atmosphere, and it can get noisy, but not so loud that you can't still have a conversation with the person you're with. There were a lot of birthday celebrations happening while we were there, which made the place feel fun and energetic. I even recorded a little so people can see what they do for birthdays. One thing I thought was really cute is that there was a lady with a cart offering pan dulce and Mexican hot chocolate. It's not included, but it's available as an add-on. I was visiting my family in San Diego and my niece suggested this place for brunch. She made a reservation and so we didn't wait at all to be seated. The only thing they ask for is that your entire party be present to be seated, which I think is only fair. We were lucky enough to be seated next to a large window, so we had a beautiful view of the Bay. We ordered so much amazing food and drinks; Café de Olla, a Carajillo, the Margarita Sampler and several of us ordered El Tochomorocho, which consists of Chilaquiles, Beans, Huevos Rancheros and a grilled Sweet Tamale topped with Sour Cream and Cotija Cheese. Wow, wow, wow, is all I can say!! Wait, I forgot to mention the sweet lady with the Conchas and other Pan Dulce. Loved it all!! We were also celebrating my husband's birthday and he got a dessert sampler that we all got to enjoy.
