I am so disappointed in this experience. I saw the videos online and wanted to celebrate a family member's birthday here. I feel like it was so hyped and I was left feeling let down in a way. From the experience to the service, to the ambiance. I made a reservation for my party, arrived early. Sat down and was immediately told we had 90 minutes for our food visit. Which is understandable. We were sat outside and it was really nice. We got our server and it was okay. In my reservation I let them know we were celebrating a birthday, and my guest had a birthday button. I really wanted my party to experience the pan and coffee cart, and have a view worth the price of food and pictures. We got our food, and drinks. They were good, flavorful and hot. We got my 2 littles pancakes, and one of them had a blonde hair in their pancakes found at the end of their meal. We're all dark haired. Told our server and she was annoyed my little still ate it. I ordered a cafe de olla, and they forgot it and didn't bring it until I was done with my meal. It happens, no biggie. But as we were eating, there were quite a few birthdays, and I got excited they would be doing it for us too. They didn't. I figured if they didn't, I'd ask for a concha and do it myself, but I never got the concha's. Sooo my birthday guest was saddened but ate comfortably. Delicious food! I got the el patron which was everything I wanted. Savory with the meat (I added carnitas cause I needed protein), chilaquiles, some eggs, and beans. Then I got to enjoy a delicious French toast. The plate was absolutely cleared when I was finished. My friends enjoyed their chilaquiles also! The mango margarita was delicious with the tajín rim. The service was okay because we were a party of 6 but we got less than 6 waters, started off with not enough utensil sets, and I had asked for extra cilantro and onions but didn't get that till I asked 2 more times. Took my daughter here for brunch and it was such a great experience the entire time. The wait time for walk ins went by fast and they offer an umbrella to block the sun while you wait, I thought that was nice. The aesthetic is beautiful inside and the patio was nice because of the beach view, you can't go wrong sitting indoor our outdoor. The food was soo good! I arrived for my reservation and waited 15 minutes past seating time. We were seated facing away from the view. Cute Decor, but noisy.The food was tasty but cold and coffee refills hard to come by. Lack of attention to detail: avocado plopped on topped with lack of presentation. Extra charge for egg on chilaquiles? Mimosa Flight isn't worth the price. One of the only places I've been where they speak Spanish to you regardless if you look guerita. Service was attentive and friendly. They were very kind to my non Spanish speaking kiddos. I didn't feel any type of judgement like we've experienced at other businesses so that was nice. The Coronado location is right by the dock so you may sit outside and get a nice breeze and view of the harbor. Inside is light and bright. The food was amazing. Our kids enjoyed the chocomilk with paleta payaso and green juice. I chose El Patron to get some French toast and chilaquiles. I really enjoyed the beans, so creamy and flavorful. I recently went to Cocina 35 in Coronado for brunch and had such an amazing experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is super cute and perfect for brunch, and the food was absolutely delicious. But what really made our visit exceptional was our server, Karina. She was honestly one of the best servers I've had in a long time. If you have a high spice tolerance like me, you'll enjoy this dish. It's not too spicy and has a nice kick. I love how much flavor was packed in each bite! Drinks: incredible. We kindly asked about the window seat Since that is the main reason. We like this location and no one came back to talk to us they just ignored us. I asked for the coffee flight and it was cold. Cocina 35 has four locations in San Diego: Otay Mesa, Liberty Station, Downtown and Coronado Island. The cocktails and food were delicious and exactly what I needed on a beautiful morning by the water. We were sat right by the window and service was great. Food arrived on time and loved the floral decor and tone of the restaurant. It was a positive and peaceful atmosphere. The lychee martini is a must and the chilaquiles are tasty, but my favorite part was the refried beans. They had a little kick but I loved it. I can't wait to take my best friend here. The one piece of constructive criticism I wanted to communicate by email but there's not a public one to contact is the dirt in the crevices of the table. I had a very unpleasant experience at Cocina 35 in Coronado this morning (March 13, 2026 around 9:40 AM). While I was eating, I noticed what looked like a cockroach in my food. Finding something like that in a dish at a restaurant is extremely concerning and completely unacceptable from a hygiene and food safety standpoint. I brought it to the manager's attention, but the response was disappointing. Instead of taking clear accountability, the explanation felt more like excuses, which made the situation even more frustrating. Needless to say, I could not continue eating after that. Yes, the wait was about an hour, but they kept us cool with shade, hand fans, and even fresh fruit skewers while we admired the San Diego skyline. Excellent. I already had another spot booked for brunch for my last day on Coronado, but, I saw this spot through the windows while out jogging and swapped last minute. If you can, show up right when they open, no line and easy seating. It gets loud and crowded by 10am. I had my choice of tables and the staff were very prompt and friendly, easily able to make menu suggestions and answer all my questions. I arrived at 9am to no line and walked right up, by 10am when I left, line out front. The location is excellent right in the Ferry Landing outdoor complex with free 2-hour parking and loads of street parking so parking shouldn't usually be an issue. The inside is beautiful - very instagrammable even down to the gorgeous bathrooms (see photos). I was alone on a work trip, so I was able to people watch and check out all the good food going by. I went with the Mazapan latte warm, which was amazing and light and slightly nutty. Highly recommend. All the chilaquiles looked amazing but I wanted some protein as I was flying home later so I went with the classic: La Bomba which was crispy and warm and fresh and absolutely wonderful. Slightly spicy but not too bad. They have merch for sale and you can get hats, coffee, mugs, tortillas, etc. Highly, highly recommend. I made my reservation on open table, and added a note that we were going to celebrate my husband's birthday. When we entered they gave me a pouch, and sat us down with a nice view. We ordered our food, and the pouch contained some cute little activities for my daughter to keep busy. They came around and offered us bread, which I thought was complimentary however after getting the bill it was $3 for the concha, and $4.5 for the empanada. I just wish they would've told us! we ordered two plates one with pancakes, and one 1/2 chilaquiles 1/2 French toast. My husband got the clamatito and I got the cafe de olla iced, both of those drinks were good. And there were two roped off lines for the bar area and for the restaurant-- almost feels like a club situation. There is a 90min limit, and the service was ok. Considering the time limit, I'd think the service would be more attentive and quicker. The food was decent, but very overpriced chilequiles.
