I have been a customer of CoAuto for several years now and they have done a great job every time. Rochelle and Albert are always very helpful and fun to talk to, and make sure you know what services will be done and what is recommended. The co-owner Vinnie has gone above and beyond for me in the past to make sure my truck was properly repaired and that I was happy. He once even drove out to where my truck had died on the street to attempt a repair, and when the problem was too complex to solve on the road, he took care of towing back to the shop and even drove me back home. Incredible service. Their shop utilizes an online intake and repair service called ShopWare that keeps you informed of everything before, during, and after inspections and services with notes and pictures included. You can approve services right there on your phone with all costs laid out in plain view. Their company also mails out promotional rebates and offers incentives for recommending their services to others. I am not a mechanic but do perform many services myself on my own vehicles, and have even used their inspections as a valuable roadmap for what needs to be done next and when. For everything I cannot do or am not confident enough to do, I take my truck to CoAuto and recommend them every time. Fair pricing, fast turn-around and great people to talk to. I wish every shop were like this one. Over the years I had gone through at least five different mechanics in Reno/Sparks and had big problems with all of them. My same vehicle has been in and out of CoAuto several times for vastly different jobs and has come out every time without issue. I just wish they worked on pre-1996/OBDII vehicles still as I have two early 90's cars that could really use their expertise at some point. Such is the life of the project cars. As the owner of an aging car, I'm so grateful that I've found such a great hometown mechanic as CoAuto. I've taken my car to them several times for different problems over the past couple of years, and every time I have been so pleased with the level and quality of service that I've received. The employees are always incredibly friendly and treat me with respect. They've never made me feel bad or guilty for not knowing something (which has been my experience before at other mechanic shops). Even though I'm a car novice, they've always explained the problems with my car without talking down to me. I've found their prices to be commensurate to the quality of their work, and I've never had to return my car for more work on the same problem. I also appreciate the technological conveniences that they offer; customers are able to schedule appointments online, and the mechanics can send you pictures of the work they're doing over email so that you can approve it without having to come in. I first visited CO Auto for a vehicle inspection last year when I purchase my care. I spent over $1000 in repairs and maintenance. This year, I had to return to Co Auto due to my crank shaft sensor mysteriously breaking off where the wire connects to the sensor. Co Auto provided a 3 year warranty on my part and I also paid nearly $350 for it, so I took it in. My vehicle was inspected that late afternoon and I receive photos of my wire and the top of my hood. They stated they believed it was caused by rodent damage. I let them know that was not possible and there were never any signs of mice or rodents in my car. I asked to have a mouse pest control worker to take a look at the car for a professional opinion. They agreed to this and also allowed for a 2nd opinion. I was quite upset about this situation and felt they were treating it unfair especially since there was no true evidence of mice. Day 1, The first photo I received of my wire displayed a broken off wire. Day 2, after I threatened the company with having my car further inspected by someone else. I received more photos of my car and wire later that day from a different mechanic who inspected my car again without my permission. This time I got photos of a wire that had marks all in it, when there were no marks in the previous wire photos. Needless to say the worker I spoke with was rude, unprofessional, and showed obvious detest towards me. I felt completely scammed and worried my car was tampered with so I got my vehicle off their lot and to a 2nd opinion. My second opinion, another repair shop, stated that the wire did not have bit marks and that there was no evidence of rodents in my car. No droppings, no destruction, and no nesting. When I also showed the photos to an exterminator, he was appalled that this was happening to me. I showed the photos to the mechanics at the other shop as well and they could see that the 2nd set of photos sent to me were not the same as the first set of photos sent a day prior and were not the same as the wire broken off in my car. read more

They even helped my brother with a warranty issue that he got fixed without having to spend money out of pocket at the dealership. Contrary to some of the other reviews, I do think their prices are reasonable -- their quote for some major work I needed done on my Toyota ran a few hundred dollars below what the Toyota dealership quoted me. I cannot recommend these guys enough. This shop is clean and is run by two brothers that have a passion for quality work and customer service. I brought my car in for an A/C repair, oil change, and general inspection. They had me good to go in only a few hours despite me dropping in unannounced. They let me know of other issues with my car and which ones are most serious and which can wait. They never tried to up-sell me or get me to make unnecessary repairs. They even fixed a hanging piece of plastic on my bumper for free! The owner even offered to give me a ride to work when my ride was late. You can't beat the quality of the repairs and service here. Brought my car in with some major issue. They did nothing.........literally because there wasn't much they could do. They didn't upsell me anything or try to convince me to do some insane repair that probably wouldn't work. They told me the reality and the only solution they were comfortable with. I asked about some much cheaper options and they told me the hazards of trying them and that they would not do them based on their experience. They were incredibly fair and honest and well all anybody wants from a mechanic is honesty and they had that in spades. Every time I see some one looking for a mechanic they are always asking are they honest I don't wanna pay for things I don't need. CoAuto did an outstanding job checking and recharging the air conditioning system on my 2007 Mazda Miata. After their work, the air is at least 15 degrees colder coming out of the vents. Vinnie and his team went above and beyond what I expected. He found that my battery was missing one of the retaining bolts. Fortunately they were able to fix that on the spot in just 5 minutes - saving me an hour or more trying to find the right part at an auto parts store. I plan to take my car (and my wife's car) back for additional work. Oh yeah, they also have free Wi-Fi in their lobby! read more

I had an air-conditioning problem and a check engine light for the outside air temperate sensor reading. Rats got into the car and chewed threw the wire to the temperature sensor. I clearly told the desk personal at CoAuto that the air conditioning was going hot and cold and the temp sensor reading was not working on the dash. I gave them all the analysis they needed to fix the problem. That was fixed for $164 they said. OK, expensive but I'll pay for the work to fix one cut wire. Nothing else was needed. But the bill was for $509.97. What! They told me the additional $350 cost was for analysis and testing. I'm a reasonable good mechanic but this was my daughters car and I didn't have the time to work on it so went to CoAuto. We were upset and after complaining they did help resolve the cost issue by refunding $213.00 which was appreciated. read more

This shop is unbelievably expensive. They Charged me $175 just to test a check engine light. After being told the $175 would factor into labor costs due to a quick/easy repair, my overall bill was $500 dollars to simply replace a 45$ dollar sensor in my vehicle. I recommend going elsewhere, even dealership mechanics don't charge the ridiculous costs this shop does, and i will not be returning here as a customer. read more

The lucido brothers know how to run a well organized and professional shop. My GMC Canyon had an issue with irregular idle. Anthony was able to diagnose it and teach me about how the O2 sensor worked by showing me on the diagnosis tool how the sensor should be functioning prior to repair. After the repair was completed, he took his teaching lesson full circle by showing that the new O2 sensor was functioning as it should and that the repair has worked. I have not had this issue since and the vehicle is running much better. Thank you Anthony for taking the time to teach me a little more about my vehicle while fixing it. Holy crippies!!! Not only are these guys and gals good at their jobs, their warranties are phenomenal!! My little red Saab died originally due to the coil pack going out. CoAuto replaced it. It went out again, they covered it under the warranty as they should. No B.S. pretending to find something wrong just to try to charge me something. They just took care of business. Now the pack died again. Not only are they being honest and taking care of the issue, AGAIN, the towing was covered and another out of pocket expense as well. I didn't mention I wanted them to cover any other costs, they just took it upon themselves to deal with my stuff due to their vendors bad parts. Was referred here by my brother in law; he takes all of his vehicles here and HIGHLY recommended I use them. I wasn't able to use their service since my truck is over two decades old but their customer service here seems top notch. When I called, the phone was answered on the first ring and Albert was incredibly helpful letting me know they don't work on vehicles past a certain age but was quick to refer me to another local reputable company that does. These 5 stars are for exceptional customer service, especially compared to other mechanics around town. Today I had to take my Subaru in for the 30,000 mile maintenance checkup. I brought it after my dad did research of local places to CoAuto on Dickerson! They have the absolute best customer service ever! Not only did they charge me fairly (saved me $500 that I would have been charged at Subaru) they made me feel completely comfortable for not knowing anything about cars. They support local art and allow artists to feature their art there;) and told me that they've donated cars to needy families to give back to the community! I recommend anyone to go there.
