I would not recommend Coasterra Pest Control. I used a large corporate pest control company for years with no issues and switched to Coasterra because they represented themselves as a local family-owned business, which I later learned was not true. They also require customers to sign a one-year contract, which I soon learned why after becoming dissatisfied with their service. Their spider treatment simply does not work. I rarely had spider issues in the past, but with Coasterra I was finding numerous spiders just a few weeks after every treatment. I repeatedly had to call and request return visits, which should not be necessary when paying for regular pest control. It was a constant inconvenience to take time off work and keep my dog inside for several hours while waiting for these return treatments. During one visit, technician Rigo entered my backyard without notifying me. My small dog was still outside, and I was very concerned that he could have been exposed to the chemicals being sprayed. On another occasion, I walked the technician around my property and showed him exactly where I was seeing spiders. I then went inside, only to notice that he had left within minutes. There is no way the service was completed thoroughly in that amount of time. At another appointment, technician Mike did not have the proper equipment to reach the higher eaves and remove webs near my roofline, even after I pointed out those problem areas. Because of these ongoing issues and my dissatisfaction with the treatments and results, I attempted to cancel the service just four months into the contract. I was told I would still be responsible for paying for the entire year. As a result, I ended up purchasing my own products to spray for spiders- something I had never needed to do before. Toward the end of the contract, the service became even worse. I was finding spiders within a week of treatments. I scheduled a callback with Christina, took the morning off from work, and no one showed up. When I called, she told me that Matt, the manager, said I would have to pay for the visit even though callbacks were supposed to be included as part of my contract. I was still within my service agreement and felt misled, especially since the callback was only necessary because I continued to find spiders after their treatments. This company does not stand behind its promises, the customer service is unprofessional, and the treatments have been completely ineffective for me. After a full year of service, I still have spiders around my home. I would strongly caution anyone considering signing a yearly contract with this company. read more

A few years back Costerra came to my home, and i signed up for a year contract all was well. At the end of my year service stared to decline, and I ended up cancelling their service. I recently called and asked if they could come out and start service again not remembering why I cancelled the first time. They said I was still on file and they could send someone out to inspect the house between 3-5 P.M. I changed my work schedule to be available between 3-5 P.M. as I am leaving my Home for work the Tech arrived at my house at 9:00 A.M. I followed through and spoke to the technition mentioned to him that he was suppose to be at my home between 3-5 he brushed it off. He looked around I told him what bug problem I was having. The tech said he could treat the outside today it would cost $129.00 I asked if it could be billed he said no that he would take a check. I wrote a check on June 29th for $129.00 he did the service and left. Since then I have been receiving emails stating I owe them $129.00, and if i could submit the payment as soon as possible. I have received 3 emails so far. I called and spoke to them about the emails and stated I had already paid them the guy that answered said it is a auto generated email, and he would take care if it. Again i recieved emails regarding the balance. I then recieved a call from Coastera asking for payment. I explained to the girl that I gave payment on June 29th and that the tech has my check. I also stated that it had been 2 weeks and the check has not cleared. I was forwarded to a Manager who gave me a care less attitude. She said that the checks are held by the tech, and brought into the warehouse all at once and then they are deposited. (So the tech is driving around with my check for 2 weeks) I told the manager that I now realize why I cancelled the service the first time due to POOR customer service. I demanded she find the check and deposit it ASAP! She told me she had the check with her and would take care of it. 5 days later the check has still not been cashed. I called and asked for the status of my check i got the manger again and she said that the check was put into her system, and should be processed Wednesday or Friday. She would not make an effort to get my check to the bank and deposit it ASAP as i requested. After 2 weeks i am still seeing bugs in my back yard after treatment. I waited a little over a month to write this review because I wanted to see how their pesticide treatment treated our pest (spiders, ants, silverfish, etc) problem. We recently bought a house and knew summer was rolling around and I knew the ants were gonna come out. I wanted to prevent them rather than waiting and have a big problem. When I called them their call center reps are very friendly, helpful and answered all my questions. They had availability for someone to come out and treat our place within a day or two! I got an email with a picture and name of the guy who would be coming out, along with a confirmation of date and time of service. When the guy came out, he sprayed the inside, outside and the garage. He also dewebbed the outside and my patio furniture!!! Awesome right! About a week later I had discovered I had a gopher destroying my yard, I called them, they came out to assess the situation, but unfortunately there's no guarantee in catching the little stinker with their gopher/mole catching pricing/package. Long story short, we took care of the situation ourselves. I noticed a significant decrease in ant and spider activity within days! But about a month later and I called Coasterra again to come out and retouch a few areas cause I was seeing a spider here, A spider there and some ants outside. They came out to spray for FREE!! Found someone on my doorstep when I came home. She gave me the scripted selling points and I agreed. Scheduled for a day I found convenient, somehow was not convenient for them and they sent me a couple days to choose from earlier in the week. I agreed, set a time and come to find out...it was a complete waste of my day. 1-5p was my appointment, 2p rolled around and not a word from this super company these folks are raving about. I finally called and apparently this super tech with a backpack sprayer is at another appointment and I am to sit around waiting for a 20-30 min heads up of his epic arrival. I cancelled the appointment as soon as I heard this load of crap. Apparently the 1-5 is a window, 4 hours of waiting. And when I asked how long this wondrous service was going to take, 20 mins was the response...wait 4 hours for someone to show up with their Home Depot bug spray for 20 mins. What a brainless way of conducting business. And the cherry on top, when telling the customer service specialist girl answering the phones I will be cancelling....no response....no confirmation....just hung up the phone. We are very happy with this company and specifically Justin. They remind us that they are coming via text, and if that's not a good day a quick call gets you on the schedule for a better day/time. I really appreciate that they also call to say they are x minutes out. When here they are all polite, kind and respectful. Coasterra did a much needed full termite fumigation while we were away on vacation. Matt took us through all the preparation needed and even came back to deliver some more bags and was on site during the tenting process. It was so very smooth and we even received email updates while we were in Europe which was a big relief for us. When we came back, everything was clean and easy for us to unpack. Coasterra did a great job protecting my roses and lemon tree next to the house and we couldn't be more pleased. I was expecting a few broken tiles on our roof but nothing was broken! A huge plus. These guys just showed up at our door, which annoyed me since we have a "No Soliciting" sign posted, asking us if we were interested in their services. We just happened to have cancelled Lloyds recently and were actually looking for another provider so I let them talk. I was really impressed at what they covered and the lower fees they were charging. I told them what we needed and the guy wrote it all down for the tech. It didn't take long for us to decide to give them a chance. I hadn't even looked them up on yelp yet, but I'm thrilled to see the 5-star rating! The technician came out this afternoon. We were given all kinds of notifications of his arrival and he actually showed up early which was great! I run a home daycare so we really need to control spiders and such. The tech, Erik, sprayed all around the perimeter, on the lawn, under the playground equipment, window sills, doorways and more. We don't have the inside done because of our many pets and the kids. He was here for about an hour!! Lloyds came and left within 10 minutes. So glad they showed up when they did. Best company by far and I didn't even have to do homework on them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I had three pest issues I wanted addressed and they didn't solve any of the three. In fact, the mosquitoes seemed to get worse after each treatment. I called them back after the second treatment per their promise for "free retreats in between services in case you see any activity" and they charged me again. Then when I realized the service was a waste, I canceled the service and they charged me more to cancel then to continue the treatments. I asked the service man what else I could do and he suggested I use bug spray on me and plant citronella plants!! What an expensive waste!! read more

We have another appointment on Friday for the inside of our house. (We weren't told we needed to be out of the house for 2-4 hours while the treatment dries, not his fault) So far I'm extremely happy with the service, I also love the constant communication from Coasterra, I previously had Orkin and pretty much never heard from them aside from the monthly billing. read more

Not good at all .. had the person come to he door selling the services. Sounded good so I signed up. First person to show up was nice but wasn't there very long . My husband had to stop him and say no you need to spray here too etc. The second person that came out was there less then 5 minutes. I saw him drive up, I put the dog away and he was gone. Wasn't there even 5 minutes. Didn't do the backyard which is where we needed it the most . The worst part is that I gave them a debit card for payment. The card had never been used before and the next day someone had taken out $1000 from my account in Downey. I called the office and absolutely nothing was done. I did get a letter threatening to take me to small claims court for $300. Horrible company read more

Over priced and they rush their jobs. Sales guy said they woukd do x y and z including flushing our eaves and property border out to the sidewalk (i assumed he meant power washing or at least using our water hose) and take care of a minor roach problem by treating the inside of our home and under our home (as we have a raised foundation). Before we even started, we let them know our area typically has an ant and spider problem as well. The first guy came and was done in 15 minutes for the intial treatment. No "flush", just sprayed over any webs that were there. We were told the 2nd treatment they'd do the interior and under house treatment. After the initial treatment, i noticed spiders and ants back within days but gave the treatment and coasterra the benefit of the doubt. The 2nd guys shows up over a month later, knocks on the door to let us know he's here and then leaves in 5 minutes. He marked down he did our backyard and my security camera clearly shows he didn't. He also marked our side gate was locked. By the time my wife and i had put the dogs away and opened the gate he was already GONE! We tried calling the main customer number and no one answered after waiting for 15 minutes. We ended up being able to contact the tech directly and he gave my wife an attitude talking about how we should have had thing ready for him. Excuse me? Was waiting two minutes and knocking on our door a 2nd time too much to ask? He clearly marked he did the back yard when he didn't and the treatment listed didn cover spiders like our initial? I literally watch a big spider crawl out of a sprayed area for a few minutes and it didn't die. So WTH? I will be canceling this service once our contract is up. Goodness knows if we cancel the CONTRACT they'll hit us with their cancellation fees even if their customer service sucks, if the treatment doesn't work, or if they didnt do everything the sales guy said they would. They're clearly about quantity over quality. I will just end up doing the pest control myself. For less than half of their intial treament, i can buy the chemicals and sprayer online and have enough to last me more than a year. For the price of a one year co tract i can buy and power wash my entire property. Thanks for the motivation to learn something new Coasterra! Won't be depending on you anymore. I work for a university that has a housing program. One of our student apartments experienced a severe bedbug infestation. I contacted three vendors to perform a free inspection of the premises all on the same day. Jamie was the third company to perform the inspection and he is totally cool! He was very personable, professional, and I could tell he knew his craft. Coasterra gave me the best quote out of the three companies and beat each quote by at least $400. I called Coasterra and spoke to the Office Manager, Jasmine, to begin the contract process. Jasmine is very professional and was pleasant to talk to. Coasterra has an easy contract process and only took 5 minutes to complete. We desperately needed the service because Irvine Company was going to force us to use their vendor if the service wasn't performed within the next 3 days. Coasterra was able to fit us in to the schedule with no problems at all! They also offer a free callback for follow up treatment within 30 days. Jamie came by to perform the bedbug treatment. My mom believed she was signing her receipt of purchase but in reality was a contract for 5 visits $100 each. We've had this monthly service for about a year now and find them to be very good and accommodating. They will let us know what date they have scheduled and if that does not work for us we tell them what other dates are better and they seem to work with us well. If we need to have them spray inside they also work with us on the day and timing. I highly recommend this service. read more
